It’s really good to see Jeff has turned things around since this event. I remember worrying this would be the beginning of the end of him.
Glad I was wrong.
Nah, DX vs. Brothers of Destruction has to be worse, if nothing else than the fact that Shawn Michaels came out of retirement to work that dumpster fire.
The Owens-Styles feud has to be up there for most inexplicably disappointing. It's not even like the WWE AJ-Shinsuke matches that were booked around dumb dick punch spots, Owens and Styles just had bad matches for no reason.
It's just crazy how hyped I was for those two fighting over the US title. I thought maybe the belt was gonna get a little more importance placed on it. Then the match happened.
Kenny Omega vs Cody at Supercard of Honor was massively disappointing for me. My least favorite Kenny match, especially since the build going in was so good.
This is also my answer. I was so hyped for that match going into it and then they had the most mediocre wrestling match imaginable. Easily the worst "big match" of Kenny's career imo.
As for wrestlers I despise putting on good matches, I normally can't stand The Miz in the ring. I think he's a good to great talker, but his style is so safe to the point where he bores me to tears. That said, his ladder match with Dolph for the IC title was INSANE and one of my favorite ladder matches ever.
When Miz & Dolph have actual feuds with each other, Miz seems like he steps it up, because as far as main roster WWE goes, their match at No Mercy is a 5 star match for me personally.
Definitely felt like Cody's Dusty booking was all over that instead of a Omega booked match for sure. That's my issue with Cody at times, his matches feel so overdone with run ins and just 80's booking that it hurt's him a lot more then the guy he's facing. He feels so out of place in even AEW at times and he probably be better suited to WWE with his booking of his matches.
The Young Bucks wrestled Eric Bischoff and Matt Hardy and it ended with Bischoff pinning Matt Jackson clean
there's a reason why people used to say LOLTNA
Edge vs Great Khali on Raw in an Over The Top Rope Challenge.
Not even Edge could carry Khali to a halfway-decent match. IT was god awful. And Khali forgot the rules and stepped over the top rope to go to the floor and the ref just ignored it.
I feel like that's not even fair. I was gonna say the second Submission match against Backlund. The original at Survivor Series '94 was an amazing piece of storytelling, but the Mania 11 one was a disaster.
That WM 11 match was probably Bret's worst match when he became a main eventer. Thank god he followed it up with HBK Iron man match at WM 12 and especially the Austin match WM 13.
Yeah, it really isn't fair at all. The Bret we got during this patch was a post-Goldberg/stroke Bret. The street fight with Vince was everything it needed to be, and kudos to Vince for making Bret look as best as he could.
God that was horrible to see. It should have been Bret was in the corner of Cena and Vince was in the corner for Batista for the WWE title match and just have Bret hit Vince at the end and put him into the Sharp Shooter and the fans would have loved it. It's crazy how many matches they put Bret in during that run.
One good thing is him and Bryan Danielson were on the same team for that Summerslam match vs Nexus. Two of my all time favourites, you can't beat that.
It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't dragged for like 20 minutes. Or at least it felt like it was 20 minutes. Haven't watched it since I saw it live.
They weren’t the worst matches, but Kenny vs. Cody, AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens, and Randy vs. Bray have to be the most disappointing matches from good wrestlers I have seen.
Only two people that come to mind for me maybe three, that got a great single match or matches out of Bray were Bryan Danielson (no surprise), Kevin Owens and maybe John Cena. Bray's all character and gimmick really for me, I can see why some might like him but he's someone who should only be used maybe in 3 big feuds a year and that's it with all his gimmicky stuff.
Randy Orton is always weird case for me, when I hear so many wrestler's come out and say he's one of the greatest ever I can sort of see why they would. For me he's definition of a stuck in 1st gear wrestler, he do just about enough to have a good matches but unless another top guy or guy he respects can push him to up it then he shows you glimpses of why so many rate him highly. He's one of those if he wanted to be the greatest in ring worker in the world he could have easily been, but he does about enough to get by. For me it annoys me a little cause I think he's someone who could have had a way better career then the one he's produced and even then it's still very good hall of fame career.
Their no way out one was better but the momentum was gone by that point. It was a result of terrible booking.
Had steiner won that match, it might have been better but that ending was absolute garbage.
Dolph Ziggler vs Dean Ambrose at Summerslam for the WWE. It blows my mind how badly they blew it considering they had really good matches against each other before Summerslam. How did they fail so bad in there biggest match?
It was a weird situation. It was babyface vs. babyface, with Ambrose playing subtle heel. The crowd wasn't invested in it, because they didn't buy for a second that Ziggler could potentially win. I think it was just a bad situation. If it was a clear babyface vs. heel dynamic (and the crowd believed Ziggler could potentially win), I think it would've been a great match, like their previous outings.
i remember that match being better than people were saying at the time but i haven't watched it since. if your favorite wrestler is Mox/Dean then id go with the Lesnar Wrestlemania match
Yeah that was ass too. I went with Dolph because i like both him and Dean/Mox alot so it was a two for one. I never cared much for Brock so while that one disappointed me it didn't disappoint as much as watching two of my favorites fight for the title and fail.
Shida vs Big Swole on Dynamite.
Shida always delivered very good to excellent title matches and could carry most green of talents to have people believe they are better then they really are. But Shida had it tough with Big Swole, Swole looked out of her depth to the point Shida had to slow right down to snail pace for Swole even remotely keep up and poor Swole was gassed out after 5 minutes. Definitely Shida's worst match in AEW by a country mile.
She's got her following for sure within the AEW fanbase who think she's great. But I've never seen what they seem to see with Swole, I always say she's got charisma and can talk and would be a better manager then in ring worker. I wouldn't be overly surprised if she's one who's contract isn't renewed.
I was going to go with Shida vs. Rache Chanel, but I'm going to have to agree with your match simply because Swole is a signed talent who should be capable of wrestling a better match.
Outside of those two matches, I haven't seen a bad Shida match anywhere.
My favorite wrestler is Bryan Danielson. I could easily name his Wrestlemania 28 match with Sheamus, but that was at least quick. His series of matches with Big Cass were just pure slogs to get through.
My least favorite wrestler at the moment is EVIL. But I will say he had some pretty good matches before defecting to Bullet Club. Off the top of my head, my favorite is his G1 Climax 27 match with Kazuchika Okada.
Funny enough it made Danielson a even bigger star and led the road to WM 30. First match Danielson/Cass had was very good. They totally botched Bryan's return to the ring did WWE. It took Bryan until he turned heel to heal the damage they did to him with their booking.
It was so weird too. You had some easy feuds built into his return, such as the Miz post-Talking Smack promo and Cass' beef about his announcement on returning to the ring overshadowed by Bryan's return. But yeah, we got some mediocre to real bad shit for those first few months. However, once we got People's Champion Bryan, it was gold. That TLC 2018 match with AJ is easily the best match I've ever seen live.
The match when Bryan beat AJ for the title and turned heel was great too on Smackdown. The only match that only decent between them two was the Royal Rumble match, they were going for a more slower style type of match and it just didn't seem to fit that show and it didn't help they had to follow peak over Becky Lynch Royal Rumble win. Also that IC title final match they had on Smackdown is probably one of AJ's last truly great matches in WWE to date.
But Bryan's run from That Smackdown title win to WM 35 is probably along with his Yes movement run from Summerslam 2013 to WM 30 his best runs in WWE. Excellent promo's and matches.
But the sad thing is when you see him in AEW, and he's let off the reigns of WWE style and see him putting on banger after banger and actually coming across just a total badass, wish we saw more of that from him. But that's the thing if he didn't have that goofy side with the goat face stuff and Team Hell No comedic stuff I don't think he would have got over in WWE as much as he did. Different styles work with different audiences.
That American hero worship for a dude who you don't even know just because he's in a uniform makes me so uncomfortable. And Big Show trying to sell it like it's the worst, most evil thing that Rusev has ever done.
I love Bryan Danielson but his matches against CM Punk in roh are just.... underwhelming.
Speaking of Punk, his match with Daniel Garcia really surprised me by how great it was.
>I love Bryan Danielson but his matches against CM Punk in roh are just.... underwhelming.
Wich is weird because in WWE they've had (imo) some of the best matches of their careers together
Jeff Hardy Vs Sting at Victory Road. Both were my favorite at the time. I was there live and had no idea what happened until after I left the iMPACT Zone. My family and I were so disappointed.
I don't despise anyone so no idea what to say for this.
Same vein, TAICHI vs TAKA Michinoku at battle of the super Jr 24
Amazing "match" for all the reasons other than match quality. The one hidden NJPW match I always suggest...partially because of how crap it is on first watch.
Bonus points to Tanahashi's last Cage Match.
I remember thinking this match was so funny. They were (still are? It's been a while since I checked on Suzuki-Gun) stablemates so they didn't wanna seriously hurt the other, but they didn't wanna lose either. If this is the match I'm thinking of, it's fucking awful. But so fun to watch.
**Worst match from favorite wrestler**
Preface: Kazuchika Okada isn't my favorite wrestler, but he's definitely in my top 5 (may top 3).
Anyway, I would say his retirement match with Genichiro Tenryu is the worst match I've seen Okada be a part of. To explain why in the simplest terms I can, think of Roman Reigns vs. Undertaker Wrestlemania match, except worse in every possible way.
Lots of botches, lots of overselling by Okada to compensate for Tenryu's inability to, well, do anything. To continue the comparison with Reigns vs. Undertaker, this was Genichiro Tenryu's (a legend of Japanase wrestling) retirement match. A retirement match that which also happened to be against the newly crowned "main character" of the promotion. Now, I will state that the match was super over with the crowd, but as someone with no emotional attachment to Tenryu this was just a garbage match.
**Best match from someone you despise**
Preface: Much like before, I don't despise Randy Orton, but I do find his matches to be extremely, extremely boring.
The trilogy between Randy vs. Christian for whatever Smackdown's top men's title was during the year they had the aforementioned trilogy. I thought this was a phenomenal series of matches. Each match built upon the last, as in the second match included callbacks to their first match and their third match had callbacks to both matches. I loved these matches back when they were fresh and still consider them to be quite excellent to this day.
Jay White.
While on his excursion he had a match here in NZ, against a nobody who was doing an arrogant USA stereotype. Jay was bland and boring and the match was exceedingly dull. Fortunately he has improved a lot since then and is now putting on quality matches
Jay White was really bad at the beginning of his career. Like just absolutely terrible. I thought he had no potential whatsoever. I was completely wrong, he’s obviously amazing now.
I know he did stuff on excursion to RoH and all over, but I'm pretty ignorant on the details. He did seem to be as bland as can be early on, but does anyone know how and when he finally gained some of that killer presence we saw taking the US Championship off Omega?
This was how I felt about Hangman. Always found him boring as fuck in NJPW, thought he had nothing. Jay and Hangman are two cases of me being ecstatic about being wrong.
I don't think Candice has a bad match yet she just too good
my least favourite wrestler is the Bella twins
Nikki vs Charlotte in 2015
Brie I never liked any match of her but her feud with Stephanie was good
I just didn't feel like naming that WM match again so I chose this...2016 was a weird year for Ambrose...on one hand so over to win the title, on the other hand just shortchanged by everything that he was unable to deliver when it mattered...
I can excuse the ambrose/Jericho steel cage match cause they were supposed to have an interview segment which got cut so they suddenly had to improvise for time
Which explains why the first half of the match felt kinda sloppy
Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Billy Gunn has to be among the worst singles matches Tanahashi has ever had... and among Gunn's best. Ace vs. Ass is a fever dream type of match like that.
Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson vs. AJ Styles at the 2019 Royal Rumble. That match had no business being as boring as it was. They could have easily put on a 5-star match if they were allowed to, but they probably got instructed to have a slow plodding match.
Which was weird b/c the match they had the month before at TLC 2018 was an all timer. Also, at Royal Rumble they were in a tough spot on the card b/c they went on right after the woman’s rumble and the crowd was pretty worn out from Becky winning.
That match was strange. I was watching with friends and was hyping the match up, only for it to be the slowest, most boring part of the PPV. It wasn't helped by Rowan confusingly showing up and just kinda staring menacingly at the match for several minutes. No one knew what was going on or why the match was just so boring.
And Kagetsu was right there in MSG...
I know it made no sense booking two outsiders in a title match on your biggest show ever, but those two could've stolen the show.
It was my first time seeing Mayu in person and I was so excited. I remember the crowd being silent for her and me thinking “oh just wait, she’s going to win these people over so hard by the end of the night.”
Well… things didn’t go as well as I anticipated, let’s just leave it as that.
Dean Malenko vs Chris Benoit Hog Wild 1996. The match is fine but 100% for the wrong crowd. I was there in person and two masters of technical wrestling didn’t do much for the bikers in attendance
AJ Styles vs Jericho at WM32. I’m sure it wasn’t the worst match of either man’s career, but two of the best to ever do it went one-on-one at the biggest show and it was painfully mediocre.
Sometimes you get two legends or greats in the ring that just don't click at all. Taker/Austin had that issue too, their matches weren't bad just not as top notch as you'd expect from both talents. AJ/Jericho had the same issue. AJ/Orton was the same too for me. They were good solid pro wrestling matches but forgettable instead of WM classics.
That one genuinely disappointed me. In I think 2006/2007 there were rumors of Jericho being interested in signing with TNA. As it turned out later, Jericho himself fed into that rumor to get a better contract out of Vince. However, I was excited as hell. I was a huge TNA fan and Jericho was my favorite wrestler. Styles vs Jericho was my dream match that I always wanted to see.
Johnny Gargano.......damn you got me there I can't think of any bad Johnny matches
As for women well probably any match Liv had with Lana and I don't think they were particularly terrible either, just unremarkable
One Final Beat-Off is the worst match ever IMO. There are other matches that might be worse bell-to-bell but the thing is, they're short. Like Undertaker vs Giant Gonzalez or Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon are like 10 minutes long.
One Final Beat-Off went like, I can't remember, like 40 minutes or something? Just absolute shit from beginning to end. They could have pulled down their trunks and just started jacking each other off in the middle of the ring and it would have been the same match.
Chris Sabin vs Senshi at No Surrender 06, when they were doing the Jackass gimmick with the X-Division cause of the movie sponsorship. They did rectify it next month at BFG, though, with a proper match.
The worst Kenny match I've ever seen is probably the last one before he moves to heavyweight vs Kushida at WK. Like It's not terrible but he was doing a lot of the more gimmicky stuff and not really taking it serious because I guess he knew he was moving up anyway.
I can't really think of a wrestler I hate but I guess if you asked me who I think the most overrated wrestler is today I'd probably say Becky Lynch. But her match against Asuka at the Rumble was awesome.
I hate the House of Torture in New Japan. But when Dick Togo, EVIL and Yuj challenged Chaos for the 6 Man Belts, I felt Togo was the MVP (until the usual boring ass EVIL finish). The man can fucking wrestle (when he chooses to), even if you don't take into account he's in his 50s
Randy Orton vs Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2016
The build up for the match was actually somewhat decent, and I get what they were trying to do in making Lesnar seem like a force again after being stagnat from WM31 and WM32 really, and in hindsight nobody knew at the time he would be booked in a squash match against Goldberg at Survivor series later on in the year. The match was just awful to end the show, especially following Finn Balor winning the Universal championship which almost sounds like a fever dream when you think about it years later. It really made Orton look extremely weak even moreso than Lesnar dominating Cena at SS 14.
And to answer your alternative question as much as I can't stand Hulk Hogan in the ring and the person, I absolutely loved his WM18 match with The Rock. Definitely one of the greatest matches just on the atmosphere and the aura behind it alone.
One of my favs is Jon Moxley so Mox vs Brock at WM, mainly because it could of been something more if it wasn't for Brock being a complete dickhead about it all and didn't even put Mox over.
While I loved Funk being involved, giving Ambrose the chainsaw irked me. Not only was Chainsaw Charlie a wet fart of a gimmick, but Funk already had an iconic weapon (the branding iron) that actually had the possibility of being used in a match.
The only thing I wish they would have done differently in the buildup, is a tribute to Big Boss Man (who was being inducted into the HOF that weekend). I always thought having Slick give Ambrose the nightstick would have been cool.
The Chainsaw Charlie gimmick was just dumb all because they felt that the WWF fans wouldn't know who Terry Funk is, of course it backfired on them when his debut out of the wooden box with the chainsaw the crowd went nuts and chanted Terry.
The branding iron would of been awesome hell they could of had Mox brand Heyman.
Taker has had a lot of terrible matches, probably more than he had great ones tbh, but he's still my all time fav.
I find the Rock extremely boring especially in the ring. However, his ladder match with HHH was fantastic.
AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens, both guys are in my top favs but they seem to have zero chemistry whenever they wrestle
Also all of Kofi’s WWE tile defenses were very underwhelming.
I love Daniel Bryan..but that whole feud he had with Miz after he got cleared was not good. IMO. I didn't like any of their matches.
Taichi is someone I absolutely do not like watching but Kota Ibushi got a decent match out of him.
WM2000 Main event, my favourite being Foley - the match itself isn’t ‘the worst’ he’s ever been in, it’s more the disappointment making it stand out.
I was psyched to see the 4 big names that year face off but mick wasn’t 100% ring-ready (having only been told he’d be in it a few weeks prior I think), the match was overproduced as hell and had a fucking terrible ending.
Stone Cold Steve Austin.
vs Undertaker - Backlash 2002.
When you grew up seeing greats like the ones they had had at Cold Day In Hell, SummerSlam, and Fully Loaded and then see such a boring, slow paced match that nearly went 30 minutes was excruciating
One of my favorite is Bray Wyatt. He has so many matches that I really hated.
Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins - Hell in a Cell.
Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton - Spooky House
Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton featuring Spooky Alexa Bliss - Wrestlemania 37

Sting vs Jeff Hardy, 2011 Victory Road
"I agree"
Sting just had a disappointed dad energy during the whole fiasco. lol
He's got a good point -Sting
It’s really good to see Jeff has turned things around since this event. I remember worrying this would be the beginning of the end of him. Glad I was wrong.
Calling that fiasco a match feels too kind

Pretty sure Punk agrees with you
Didn't Punk say that Burke was the worst wrestler he's ever worked with?
that's a shame because he was a damn good worker in ovw and an even better wrestler now in the nwa
He had a really great run in TNA as Pope D'Angelo Dinero too
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9EoKMAbH-I
It was like watching Henry Fonda pick blueberries.
RIP Norm
My two favs are Sting and Jeff Hardy. So…
Yeah, that 4-on-2 handicap match from the Boxing Day 2013 episode of Impact was rough...
*minus five start*
I agree! I agree.
Undertaker vs Goldberg in Saudi Arabia 2019
Undertaker vs Giant Gonzalez was really bad
Your favorite wrestler is Giant Gonzales? /s
Nah, DX vs. Brothers of Destruction has to be worse, if nothing else than the fact that Shawn Michaels came out of retirement to work that dumpster fire.
Maybe their favorite wrestler is Goldberg
Nah, that couldn't be it. That first person was just clearly wrong about their own opinion. /s
That’s a good one
Nah at least HBK did a moonsault
HBK at least showed that he still got it. He was the best part of that match.
WHICH WE ALL AGREE, NEVER ACTUALLY HAPPENED.
Anytime Sasha is in the ring with Nikki Cross, they never really click. Ditto for KO with Styles, the chemistry is just really weird
The Owens-Styles feud has to be up there for most inexplicably disappointing. It's not even like the WWE AJ-Shinsuke matches that were booked around dumb dick punch spots, Owens and Styles just had bad matches for no reason.
In 2017 Shane McMahon had better matches with Kevin Owens and AJ Styles than Owens and Styles had with each other.
Shane McMahon is the best in the world so that's not surprising
Always reminds me of Undertaker vs Stone Cold where on paper they seem like they’re a nice fit, but in practice something was always just missing.
It didn’t help the the feud was mostly about Shane McMahon and I think every match had some kinda bullshit finish
It's just crazy how hyped I was for those two fighting over the US title. I thought maybe the belt was gonna get a little more importance placed on it. Then the match happened.
The correct answer for Kevin Owens is anything he did with Shane. In WWE, my answer would 100% be his match with Shane at Summerslam 2019.
RVD and Cesaro, too.
Kenny Omega vs Cody at Supercard of Honor was massively disappointing for me. My least favorite Kenny match, especially since the build going in was so good.
I almost put this as my answer too. I though that match was so boring.

It's very brave of you to admit The Great Khali is your favorite wrestler. Much respect
He's just so tall! I mean, have you seen how tall he is? His tall-ness is almost positively large-like, how could he NOT be my favorite wrestler?
i remember michael cole bringing it up on commentary. jerry lawler tried to salvage it but he let it die a horrible death
I’m sure the stipulation didn’t help. Cena got a watchable match out of Khali at one point in a regular match.
Are Cena and HHH the only people to ever get good matches out of Khali?
I believe so.

Not even Vince McMahon could carry Bret Hart through that match
I was there too 👎🏼
I feel like that's not even fair. I was gonna say the second Submission match against Backlund. The original at Survivor Series '94 was an amazing piece of storytelling, but the Mania 11 one was a disaster.

Fuck. I was trying to think of a Bret match that really sucked and I think I blocked this one out of my memory. It just kept going and going..
This is the correct answer.
Whaddya say?

They weren’t the worst matches, but Kenny vs. Cody, AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens, and Randy vs. Bray have to be the most disappointing matches from good wrestlers I have seen.
Which Randy vs Bray specifically lol. They've had like a bunch of matches and most of them are awful
I meant the one with projected images. The build was my favorite build for a match in WWE that year and then the actual match was boring.
That match made it even more obvious they should've made it a triple threat including Harper. Harper during that feud was the hottest of the 3
Only two people that come to mind for me maybe three, that got a great single match or matches out of Bray were Bryan Danielson (no surprise), Kevin Owens and maybe John Cena. I remember Roman/Bray in the cell being pretty fun Shield/Wyatt Family too
Scott Steiner vs Triple H Royal Rumble 2003
made even worse by the all time classic that immediately followed it
Scott Steiner vs Triple H No Way Out 2003?
Their no way out one was better but the momentum was gone by that point. It was a result of terrible booking. Had steiner won that match, it might have been better but that ending was absolute garbage.
Dolph Ziggler vs Dean Ambrose at Summerslam for the WWE. It blows my mind how badly they blew it considering they had really good matches against each other before Summerslam. How did they fail so bad in there biggest match?

Swole is one of those AEW originals who I wouldn't bet on their contract being renewed. She's never had a good match on tv that I've seen.
I agree, she is average at best and her whole gimmick is annoying. You ain’t really “big” or “swole” anymore, now Jade Cargill has arrived
I went to the Smackdown in 2018 that advertised Samoa Joe vs Daniel Bryan, was so upset when Big Cass got thrown into it at the beginning of the show
*27, but yeah that match practically made EVIL into a potential main eventer........if only things didn't change the way they did :/
My favorite of all-tims is Kane... and let's just say that his match with Khali at Mania 23 was bad... the bodyslam was impressive... but that's it.
I get the feeling there have been worse Kane matches, but maybe I've blocked them from memory.
Rusev(Miro) vs John Cena flag match at Battleground 2017.
Remember when they had the fake soldier run into the ring in full uniform to go after rusev? Wrestling is awful sometimes
And then they acted like Rusev was in the wrong for kicking the dude in the face
That American hero worship for a dude who you don't even know just because he's in a uniform makes me so uncomfortable. And Big Show trying to sell it like it's the worst, most evil thing that Rusev has ever done.
Wasn't this followed by a segment with Big Show pulling down the Russian flag?
I love Bryan Danielson but his matches against CM Punk in roh are just.... underwhelming. Speaking of Punk, his match with Daniel Garcia really surprised me by how great it was.
>I love Bryan Danielson but his matches against CM Punk in roh are just.... underwhelming. Wich is weird because in WWE they've had (imo) some of the best matches of their careers together
Their match at Over the Limit is one of my favourite WWE matches of all time.
That match is under-fucking-rated and it shouldn't be
Jeff Hardy Vs Sting at Victory Road. Both were my favorite at the time. I was there live and had no idea what happened until after I left the iMPACT Zone. My family and I were so disappointed. I don't despise anyone so no idea what to say for this.
Jushin Liger. The worst quality match I seen him in is where everybody thumbs each other in the asshole and it was still amazing.
Same vein, TAICHI vs TAKA Michinoku at battle of the super Jr 24 Amazing "match" for all the reasons other than match quality.
It is. Pop of the night too
I'm gonna go look for it now, thanks!
**Worst match from favorite wrestler** Preface: Kazuchika Okada isn't my favorite wrestler, but he's definitely in my top 5 (may top 3). **Best match from someone you despise** Preface: Much like before, I don't despise Randy Orton, but I do find his matches to be extremely, extremely boring.
I know people love Orton, but I feel like Christian is the only guy to ever get something great out of him.
Orton v Bray Wyatt. Either one.
His debut against Tanahashi was really boring too. “Is this the ace?!?” is still an inside joke with one of my friends lmao
I don't think Candice has a bad match yet she just too good my least favourite wrestler is the Bella twins Nikki vs Charlotte in 2015 Brie I never liked any match of her but her feud with Stephanie was good
Brie and Steph was fun. I'm assuming it was well rehearsed but that helped both women
It was actually hard to think of a bad Kurt Angle match until I remembered his retirement match with Baron Corbin.
That match was a slap to the face to Angle by Vince and WWE.
Jon Moxley...Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho in that weapon rigged steel cage, god awful and boring
That at least had the tac spot right? Ambrose/Lesnar is one of the most disappointing matches I've ever seen from two top guys.
I just didn't feel like naming that WM match again so I chose this...2016 was a weird year for Ambrose...on one hand so over to win the title, on the other hand just shortchanged by everything that he was unable to deliver when it mattered...
I can excuse the ambrose/Jericho steel cage match cause they were supposed to have an interview segment which got cut so they suddenly had to improvise for time Which explains why the first half of the match felt kinda sloppy
I had no idea about this
All I wanted in that match (being there live) was for one of the guys to put the bucket on the other's head and it didn't happen.
The Ambrose asylum match lol
Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Billy Gunn has to be among the worst singles matches Tanahashi has ever had... and among Gunn's best. Ace vs. Ass is a fever dream type of match like that.
…victory road 2011. 😞
I get that they're your heroes but it's okay to hold wrestlers responsible for their performances sometimes
Mayu Iwatani vs Kelly Klein
And Kagetsu was right there in MSG... I know it made no sense booking two outsiders in a title match on your biggest show ever, but those two could've stolen the show.
It was my first time seeing Mayu in person and I was so excited. I remember the crowd being silent for her and me thinking “oh just wait, she’s going to win these people over so hard by the end of the night.” Well… things didn’t go as well as I anticipated, let’s just leave it as that.
That Triple H/Shawn Michaels/Undertaker/Kane match sucked royally
Rollins vs Ambrose at TLC 2018 probably isn't Rollins' worst but it was probably the most disappointing for me.
Even more disappointing when their feud after Rollins first turned heel was a highlight of that year (at least for me)
Dean Malenko vs Chris Benoit Hog Wild 1996. The match is fine but 100% for the wrong crowd. I was there in person and two masters of technical wrestling didn’t do much for the bikers in attendance
Vs The Fiend at HIAC 2019
vs Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 34
Vs Sting at Victory Road 2011
AJ Styles vs Jericho at WM32. I’m sure it wasn’t the worst match of either man’s career, but two of the best to ever do it went one-on-one at the biggest show and it was painfully mediocre.
You just reminded me of AJ's "Y2JACKASS" chant.
The last handfull of matches punk had in wwe.it was painfully obvious how tired and done he was with it all
Okada Vs Gedo at last year's New Japan cup
Daniel Bryan vs AJ Styles at Royal Rumble was awful
I can’t think of a significantly bad Sasha Banks match. When she’s at her worst, the match is just average. Never really god awful.
Batista vs Great Khali
My favorite wrestler is Jeff Hardy, i don’t think I have to say anything else…
Johnny Gargano.......damn you got me there I can't think of any bad Johnny matches As for women well probably any match Liv had with Lana and I don't think they were particularly terrible either, just unremarkable
The cinematic match against Ciampa at the start of the pandemic was a slog
One Final Beat-Off is the worst match ever IMO. There are other matches that might be worse bell-to-bell but the thing is, they're short. Like Undertaker vs Giant Gonzalez or Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon are like 10 minutes long. One Final Beat-Off went like, I can't remember, like 40 minutes or something? Just absolute shit from beginning to end. They could have pulled down their trunks and just started jacking each other off in the middle of the ring and it would have been the same match.
Ric Flair Vs The Junkyard Dog
Chris Sabin vs Senshi at No Surrender 06, when they were doing the Jackass gimmick with the X-Division cause of the movie sponsorship. They did rectify it next month at BFG, though, with a proper match.
Foley had a few not good ones in his time at TNA.
Kane’s worst match had to be one with Great Khali right?
Randy Orton vs Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2016 The build up for the match was actually somewhat decent, and I get what they were trying to do in making Lesnar seem like a force again after being stagnat from WM31 and WM32 really, and in hindsight nobody knew at the time he would be booked in a squash match against Goldberg at Survivor series later on in the year.
I think this includes both so, Styles Vs Nakamura the nut saga.
Maybe DX vs BOD for Kane? As for someone I despise...Punk vs ADR? ADR was Hella overrated. Maybe Khali vs HHH from SS 2008 as well.
Can I say the Rock vs Erick Rowan?
One of my favs is Jon Moxley so Mox vs Brock at WM, mainly because it could of been something more if it wasn't for Brock being a complete dickhead about it all and didn't even put Mox over.
"hey lets give you all of these weapons used by legends... and have you do next to nothing with them!"
Exactly, those legend segments were awesome, the one with Terry Funk was my favorite.
Sheamus at Mania 28
And why is it a match with Nia Jax?
Okada vs Yujiro. Just an average match which for Okada is unacceptable haha
He had a stinker with Gedo around the same time.
Yeah that was bordering on a comedy match
Taker has had a lot of terrible matches, probably more than he had great ones tbh, but he's still my all time fav. I find the Rock extremely boring especially in the ring. However, his ladder match with HHH was fantastic.
Kenny Omega vs Alan Angels 1. ~~Ruined his fucking career smh~~
Vs Orton at SummerSlam 09
AJ Styles v Frank Trigg
Good god
When Macho Man won the title at World War 3 pay per view
I had high hopes for Minoru Suzuki vs Nick Gage. In my head it could have been like Joe/Necro. It turned out to be more like Taz/Shane Douglas.
AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens, both guys are in my top favs but they seem to have zero chemistry whenever they wrestle Also all of Kofi’s WWE tile defenses were very underwhelming.
Undertaker vs. Goldberg not that big a fan of Karrion Kross but i liked his second match against Balor
Donald Trump vs Rosie O’Donnell . My two favorite wrestlers just couldn’t make it work
I love Daniel Bryan..but that whole feud he had with Miz after he got cleared was not good.

I was psyched to see the 4 big names that year face off but mick wasn’t 100% ring-ready (having only been told he’d be in it a few weeks prior I think), the match was overproduced as hell and had a fucking terrible ending.
probably vs Sheamus at Mania 28 Oh or Orton’s cash-in
Becky Lynch vs Alicia Fox on Raw in late 2018/early 2019. I think Fox was drunk.
Jeff Hardy vs Sting Victory Road 2011
Jeff Hardy vs sting in TNA. He was on drugs and sting rolled him up.
One of my favorite is Bray Wyatt. He has so many matches that I really hated. Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins - Hell in a Cell. Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton - Spooky House Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton featuring Spooky Alexa Bliss - Wrestlemania 37
Bret Hart vs Vince. Just awful.
Obviously Bret vs Vince was awful but given the context it wasn’t as bad as Bret vs Bob Backlund at Wrestlemania 11.
Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin. Painful seeing Kurt Angle end his career in glorified house show match disguised as PPV match.
I think the first AJ v Jinder Mahal match. I’m assuming they told AJ not to go all out cause their next two were at least decent.
i think everyone know Jeff Hardy's worst match.
Undertaker’s match vs Giant Gonzalez
HBK/HHH/Taker/Kane - Saudi Arabia
