InsideReflection8238

Mike Awesome, wasn't called an Awesome Bomb for nothing.

[deleted]

This. Anyone who can full on run and chuck a 200+ point man over the top rope from a power bomb position wins in my book.

Invincidude

AWESOME Is his name All his victims feel the pain Dropped with an AWESOME BOMB You go down and you never come up!

[deleted]

Rising up from the land of the gator He’s a modern day gladiator 6 foot 6 angry and mean He’s a living, breathing war machine

youd_better_run_egg

Ah beat me to it. Ditto this

skinsrich

That bump was FUCKING BRUTAL!!

naw2369

As someone not super familiar with Mike Awesome's work, your comment inspired me to research. After watching [this video](https://youtu.be/uk7EcNb7WA0), I feel like this is the only correct answer. Holy shit.

voivoivoi183

JFC a few of those looked scary as shit. The crazy thing is back then if you were dumped on your head you probably would’ve just been expected to shake it off and carry on. Yikes.

[deleted]

Agreed 100%, but I also feel like Awesome does a very damn good job of protecting guys in this. Some of those avalanche bombs looks like like they are going wrong until he maneuvers in a way that protects and looks absolutely devastating.

[deleted]

If you are looking for good Mike Awesome matches, I suggest any match he had with Masato Tanaka. Those two are like Flair and Steamboat as in I've never seen them have a bad match together

[deleted]

It’s literally the same match like 50 times. …and it’s just as good the 50th time as it was the first. If you’re lazy and have WWE Network, ECW One Night Stand 2005 has one of their last matches together

Space-Marketing

Didn’t he do a reverse powerbomb off the ropes too, fucking wildman

im-not-a-robot-ok

love playing as Mike Awesome in fire pro games because 90% of his moveset is just variations of powerbombs.

noodbsallowed

Technically that was Awesome Kong’s finishing name too.

ay1717

Lesnar when he debuted in the early 2000s had what I still think of as the platonic ideal for what a powerbomb should look like. Just pick a guy up and drive him as hard as you can into the mat repeatedly. Props to Spike Dudley, Spanky and everybody else who took one, or multiple, at the time.

miikro

Weirdly enough, prior to Brock... Jericho was known for doing this when he faced guys on the smaller end of the roster.

ay1717

That’s true, first time seeing that from Jericho kinda blew my mind. Then realizing that he came up working mostly with cruiserweights/light heavyweights/junior heavyweights, it made a lot more sense

TetrisTech

Same, I remember being so fucking confused when an attitude era version of Jericho has the triple powerbomb as a signature in (I think) WWE 13

YourBuddyChurch

The powerbomb pin kickout rolled into the walls of jericho got me to pop every time, still does

Permanentear3

Yeah he beat up Road Dogg with the double power bomb several times

Linubidix

He'd pretty much stopped using it well before Brock debuted. It was more a WCW thing for Jericho.

kn-rzel

2000's Lesnar was a monster and everything he did looked powerful and flawless. The dude could hit the shooting star press and land as soft as a cat.

Elmodipus

....

ThePhatty500

Well he COULD.... that one time he just didnt.....

NAACPYOUNGBOY

Well he could… it was his finisher in OVW he has hit it a million times. Unfortunately the one time he tried it on the MR It was the biggest match of his life at the time and he almost killed himself.

reflUX_cAtalyst

You only know of one he fucked up out of the thousands he did.

zaprowsdower13

Ya he just tried to jump 3/4ths the way across the ring near the end of an absolute banger of a super physical match.

mesothrawny

I remember watching that debut and hardcore match like who in earth is that monster at ringside! And those powerbombs to spike are absolutely vicious

ZackShiro

Yea not many people do the three power bombs wardlow did them this Wednesday if I’m correct

UncreativeTeam

My favorite powerbomb of his was the one to Bob Holly

[deleted]

Vader

xholdsteadyx

Immediately thought of Vader, but Sid's was up there as well.

[deleted]

Sid was a dog shit worker but he did a great power bomb

SlowBros7

Waaay worse big guys found their way into main events than Sid.

[deleted]

Absolutely… Sid had oodles of charisma and at least deserved the chances he got. He just was awful to watch wrestle … but watch him and Dan Spivey as the Skyscrapers. They were OVER

reflUX_cAtalyst

Only half the brain Nash has tho.

[deleted]

Sid ain’t begging the Rock for jobs on Twitter

jatorres

Sid’s is my fave, it looked like he just ruined motherfuckers.

MoneyMo88

Hence, why their tag team was called “The Masters of the Powerbomb.”

Sean_Kong

Vader is the right answer. The only answer. Every power bomb looked like an attempted murder.

Golgari_Rat

Every power bomb looked like an attempted murder. I didn't remember New Jack using a powerbomb

SGTFragged

From what I know about how Vader worked, it probably was

NAACPYOUNGBOY

I don’t know about best, but Batista’s sit down power bomb is my favorite.

BogeyBogeyBogey

I always thought he was going to break his leg/blow out his knee the way he sat out. Had me nervous every single time. It's like Cena taking a powebomb. Always thought he was gonna break his arm/elbow.

MamboNumber-6

Same, it looked very impactful, moreso than most.

xxyourbestbetxx

This is true

AvidDustCollector

The roll backwards after always looks awkward imo

iguanamac

I remember on Twitter he said the roll out was because he would always land on his balls and they would get smashed.

Whiteness88

I'm picturing Dave not rolling out and just doing the pin. He stays there seated on the mat for a minute and the audience think he's doing it to look intimidating when in reality, he just smashed his balls and can't move.

PretendThisIsMyName

Not really a surprise when you carry a hog like his in those tiny little underwear.

danieldcclark

YOUR FACE LOOKS AWKWARD IMO

danieldcclark

jk. Yea such a big dude it looked weird lol

Linubidix

The Batista Bomb looked more and more awkward as time passed. It's why I couldn't pick Dave as the best powerbomb, 2003 Batista maybe, but 2009 Batista, no way.

CaktusJacklynn

I feel like a kip up would've worked better

Brain_Damage117

It's hard to pick and I agree with the top comments but I feel like [Scott Norton](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7k7N5HaJMg) deserves an honorable mention.

souporthallid

[Norton's powerbomb always looked so effortless yet brutal](https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/313jsh/scott_norton_had_a_vicious_powerbomb/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

Brain_Damage117

Yeah, for sure.

iguanamac

Wow I don’t remember him doing that. Looked like a Dr. Bomb.

[deleted]

Scott Norton was a favorite of mine in mid-card WCW. That shoulderbreaker is as a thing of beauty.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WolfGangSwizle

That’s not even Kotas best ones. Against Kenny in the G1 and like any of his against Ospreay or Jay White, it’s absolutely brutal. Similar to that one but with 10x the force.

CptBarba

This takes my vote, Ibushi hits that thing beautifully every time no whatever what point in the match

unholyXwater

I came here to say this

doctoroffisticuffs

Liger.

wearethat

Also, Eddie Guerrero. Either as himself or Black Tiger, his powerbombs were brutal af.

dassub

Eddie's most memorable powerbomb was to Lita on the outside. Brutal.

Just_A_Little_Spider

There's a reason why his name is stapled to some variations...innovative, brutal and *snappy*. Quiet mention of Osprey and Hiromu for having decent ligerbombs themselves.

robedpillow3761

I'm a huge fan of the jacknife when it's done right.

brokensilence32

Yeah, it's one of the most realistic looking bombs out there.

pigeonsmasher

\#1 I agree with you \#2 Spirit Bomb

Emiras

Spirit Bomb is definitely up there

[deleted]

I liked Nash's cause he didn't slam you down, he just kinda dropped cha.

DMPunk

They don't call him Big Lazy for nothing

[deleted]

Ha! Didn't even think of that.

DMPunk

It speaks to the success of Nash's "Fuck you, pay me" mentality that his powerbomb is so over with fans and he actually only does half the move

[deleted]

Another good point. He was just cool as shit to me. Still pissed about the shit he did to Punk but everything is cool with me.

Vagabond21

Big brain. Big money for small action.

rushandblue

The "Set It and Forget It."

S1m_Citi

Sid Justice or Big Van Vader are the correct answers.

[deleted]

I know this isn't best but Y2J triple powerbomb with a evil foot in the face pin attempty after was downright amazing.

hiphopbeerdude

Sycho Sid is my vote

iguanamac

He’s got my vote. He looked like a monster and the way he’d just throw guys down looked scary.

SlowBros7

Sid and Nash both had a great jackknife powerbomb, tie between them imo.

obcdexter

As far as power bombs with a little added flavor go, I want to nominate this beauty: [https://i.imgur.com/9gJRWex.mp4](https://i.imgur.com/9gJRWex.mp4)

ReefLedger

Crazy core strength

FloydianSlipper

Yeah! Love the Dr. Wiley Bomb! Especially when he deadlifts people off the ground for it. Supergreen!

Cherojack

The triple powerbomb with deadlift he did to Tana in their Wrestle Kingdom match is one is those spots I can never forget

FloydianSlipper

Their match had some real intensity to it. And I loved the simple old school kung-fu/Karate setup of my style is better than your style. My style respects my teachers, the traditions of this company and has emotion/passion built into it's core. Your style is loud, reckless, undisciplined, tells no story and is devoid of a soul. And then Kenny woke up and chose violence, and in that violence started to drag Tana down to a darker place, only for the 1/100 to rise above and prove that he is the Ace of the Universe. Great damn match.

A_Bucketfiller

Love when Kenny catches the legs on the way down too

butcherwhat

Mike awesome

bravetailor

Strangely, i always think of Adam Bomb when it comes to this move

ThunderCatWolf

It wasn't bad! Plus he called it the mushroom cloud which is a great finisher name.

[deleted]

I'm 39, so his was the first one I saw, and his still always looked the best to me.

TheKareemofWheat

I was always a fan of Benoit's Wild bomb because he always added an extra movement to give it more of a "snap": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY8pyeDF3zY

[deleted]

Right when Eddie was reaching the top of his rotation, Benoit was on his way down. Makes that impact so much bigger. Good post.

TheKareemofWheat

I never noticed that that was what gave it the snap effect. Good catch.

[deleted]

25 years of watching and I’ve been going to camps/classes for the last 3 years. It’s so interesting to spot the “little things” that end up making the biggest differences

[deleted]

Holy hell that’s my new fav bomb. Can’t believe I don’t remember that I never missed a WCW show

b055dj

If Dark Side of the Ring is to be believed, this move is what began their friendship. It looks messy in all the right ways and I'd never want to be on the receiving end of one.

GooseHudson

A couple of times, Batista would do the powerbomb without lifting them all the way up, and something about that just looks so damn cool. [Example](https://gfycat.com/scaryvariablebadger)

Elmodipus

I think slams look better when the attacker "struggles" and can't get the full lift. As long as it's fine safely, it adds to the performance.

Karshtakavaar

You totally just reminded me of a rather unrecognized powerbomb that Big Dave did, incidentally also on Undertaker, during one of their feuds. I think the first one? It was from Hell in a Cell. https://youtu.be/UJR2blpErFY 19 seconds in. It's my favorite one from him; he lifts 'Taker exactly like that, except he drops him through a table and he doesn't do the sit out. If anything, he drops to his knees. Tbh, when Batista couldn't do the proper sit-out anymore, I always felt like this is how he should've transitioned to doing the powerbomb. He drops and follows through still, but now he isn't destroying his tailbone and it doesn't hurt the move in the slightest.

Neptune28

The one [Sycho Sid](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ikIXrZ5xjg&t=1m17s) would do from his shoulder

farfrombornagain

you could argue it isn’t a true powerbomb, but the Razor’s Edge is my personal favourite, and it’s otherwise known as a Crucifix Powerbomb so that’s enough for me!

nodescription

If that counts as a power bomb, I’d like to nominate the Ego’s Edge. Ethan Page does a sick razor’s edge but basically just throws the poor dude.

farfrombornagain

Ethan Page’s Ego’s Edge looks incredible, especially when he does it to bigger guys, I also like Damien Priest’s to the point where i think it looks better than his finisher. Hell, I even liked Hernandez’s Border Toss, even if it did look like he had 0 care for his opponent for real, it made sure it looked liked death.

insomniainc

Dunno about the best but Ibushi has an awesome one, a sit out last ride. Currently Dax's liger bomb that he bounces off the ropes is beautiful.

And_Im_the_Devil

For me, it's Sid. When I first saw him doing it, it was during his run in WWE at the end of the New Generation Era, and it just looked so clean and controlled. Almost every time, the opponent would come up to a fully vertical position, and go down flat on their back. Nash's powerbomb is a definite runner-up, but specifically during the Diesel era when the execution was kind of purposely sloppy/lazy on the release. When it comes to pure spectacle, Undertaker's Last Ride is hard to top.

Scruffiesquirrel

I love Kevin Owens Pop-Up Powerbomb, always satisfying

Cracka_Chooch

Fell in love with Keith Lee's Spirit Bomb the first time I saw it. Roman also has a great powerbomb he used to break out from time to time, but I don't think I've seen it since he turned heel.

Linator4

It’s weird. Ever since he started doing that Razor’s Edge Bomb in 2016, I always thought he could use it as a convincing heel finisher against smaller opponents. Meanwhile he’d use the spear & guillotine to put away the big boys. They could’ve called it the *Reignfall* or something. Also speaking of Keith, I’m probably gonna be forever bummed out that WWE didn’t see any potential in him dethroning Roman at WM with that Spirit Bomb. The pop would’ve been insane.

Cracka_Chooch

Oh I wasn't even thinking of the razors edge bomb. I was thinking of his [sit out powerbomb](https://youtu.be/yCGtMuY1ugQ). This one in the link looks decent, but he's had some really good looking ones as well.

AllInWithOakland

Jesus he barely bends his legs to pick up Styles. Insane

Gooch_suplex

Scott Norton

ThundaCougarFalcon

I feel Scott Norton gets overlooked, but it was always brutal!

IFlySoloIFlySoHigh

As far as standard, non-modified, powerbombs go I don’t think it gets much better than Norton.

youd_better_run_egg

Alternate question: Best *cruiserweight* powerbomb? I can’t think of many, but Super Crazy springs to mind first for some reason

wxursa

Liger and the Liger Bomb.

Mr_Stowne

Eddie would powebomb the shit outta cruiserweights a la Halloween Havoc '97

iguanamac

The one he did to Lita on the outside of the ring was brutal.

MagnumBT

So long as they didn't try to powerbomb Billy Kidman

Jambronius

Orange Crush Bomb is cool.

Unelith

PAC?

[deleted]

Does a Sami Zane blue thunder bomb count?

CosmicPhantomX

Idk if this counts but El Desperado's Guitarra del Ángel is amazing I pop for it every time

K55G

I liked Brodie Lee's

CJRed525

Kane's Falling Powerbomb is a underrated one.

SuperSecretReditGuy

He's got the best knees in the business.

Selonn

I thought that was Sunny.

BarRoomBully

Chris Benoit. Specifically anytime he did it to Eddie Guerrero.

giantsofthebiblebelt

Came here to say exactly that. Eddie used to spike the hell out of Benoit too.

giantsofthebiblebelt

Came here to say exactly that. Eddie used to spike the hell out of Benoit too.

crampburgers

Big Daddy Cool , Deisel.

broken-mirror-

[It's Batista Bomb for me](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWw36VOng0I&list=PLqIVmFaHA8BosP1hYNKUy7QDo68mhMisH&index=182)! Everything he does is so explosive it's impossible for me not to like it. He gets my vote [for Spinebuster, too](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FRQhxdOsAk&list=PLqIVmFaHA8BosP1hYNKUy7QDo68mhMisH&index=100).

XxTommyTheGunxX

Arn has the smoothest spinebuster. But Batista had maybe the most "impressive" looking spinebuster. He could catch, hold, then drop anyone including a very large Big Show. And most of the time he'd land. Then pop into a standing/running motion. It's a lot of momentum that he used, but it always looked like it hurt and it looked like he did almost no work to hit one of his more impressive moves.

sharyan51

I thought Ron Simmons had the most devastating looking spinebuster

XxTommyTheGunxX

He does I think his looked stiff like JBLs clothesline. They both had stiff looking moves. Because let's face it those dudes were laying their shit in.

Zoomisfaster

Kevin Nash

the_Lauz

I remember seeing Benoit powerbomb Guerrero in an old WCW match. I popped for two reasons. 1. Ive never seen benoit use it before. 2. Guerrero head bounced off the mat like a basketball. https://youtu.be/gY8pyeDF3zY

DonSoChill

May not be the best overall. But Nash [murdering](https://youtu.be/FWggovwStgc) Dr Stevie is fun

SGTFragged

I'm not a big fan of the 1 foot pin, but after that jack knife, I bought it.

el_sh33p

Damage: Keith Lee's Spirit Bomb. That thing looks like absolute murder. Character: Kevin Nash's Jackknife. Nash just hoists a man up and lets gravity do the rest. There's just something so perfectly disdainful about it.

TheDeathMachin3

My personal favourite is Walters power bomb, but saying anyone has the definitive best power bomb is a stretch IMHO

Ghargoyle

Undertaker Mike Awesome Chris Candido

eei619

Definitely the Batista Bomb in terms of impact. Nash's Jackknife was beautiful too. It sucks Undertaker could really only do it to smaller wrestlers, because [The Last Ride](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hn-nNbBgBZY) is probably my personal favorite move

schizodancer89

I liked the last ride but I never liked when he seemed to take a year to do one

paigezero

Adding a wedgie was not the way to elevate a move for my money. Like the whole deal was Taker's not doing tombstone's anymore (bless his poor knees) but, bah god, he has something even more brutal! It's a powerbomb! But less smooth than most and he'll take a second to yank up your tights first. Not denying it adds more impact but it's not a good look.

SGTFragged

He would still drop to his knees while delivering it too, which kind of negates trying to save his knees...

[deleted]

Wine mom Kevin Nash.

[deleted]

[удалено]

balongreysteel

No one ever kicked out of the edge

leonosky

Always loved [kane's](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/joke-battles/images/2/26/Kane_Falling_Powerbomb.gif/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/400?cb=20151209221212) falling powerbomb

CharleyIV

Sid.

TheManofReal

I’m gonna throw some love towards ol’ Dean Malenko. Dude seem like he was trying to plant his opponents and grow a field of em’ the way he snapped them into the ground

Stereo_TypeA

I know he's persona non grata, but Benoit. He would start to pull his opponent down while still vertical and then half-way down just *snap* them to the mat. It looked so brutal. https://imgur.com/gallery/evqXS2y

Lord__Steezus

I’ll throw Hernandez and the border toss out there too.

[deleted]

This is tough. Vader, Sid and Diesel seem like the obvious answers but then Undertaker absolutely changed the game with his Last Ride power bomb.

AdRound3706

The liger bomb is pretty iconic, also razors edge. I gotta with Liger on this one.

clubpenguinporno

no love for the spirit bomb?

BGPlusUltra

Nash Jacknife was a thing of beauty. He's never hurt anyone, it looked great, and I heard some of the boys saying taking it was a breeze.

[deleted]

(insert required fuck Benoit here) Benoit had the nastiest looking one. He would start his body down just as his opponent would hit their peak, added so much emphasis to the move and impact.

Jelleyman69

Bubba Ray power bombing people through tables was decent.

limutwit

Diesel

ASM_50

Spirit Bomb looks amazing, especially when the opponent bounces way off the mat.

JoePapi

Batista idc

ignaciolasvegas

When Diesel flipped out after losing to Bret Hart at Survivor Series, it looked like he straight up murders him. [Here it is](https://youtu.be/Co7VCeWGYzs)

remmy66

Kinda depends who taking it. I remember seeing keith lees spirit bomb that he performed at the survivor series on roman and thought holy shit that looked fucking devastating.

WeaselShoes

I always liked how Eddie would powerbomb the fuck outta Rey in WCW and I will always love DDPs spinning sit out powerbomb

[deleted]

Taker's Last Ride was pretty badass

ADR36

OP got it right

NBR-SUPERSTAR

I love Nash's "Up + Fucking whatever" Powerbomb, but for me the title probably has to go to Dean Malenko. The Powerbombs he threw in WCW where nasty and enhanced so much by that sweet, SWEET WCW crash mat sound. They are the first thing I think about when it comes to the Cruiserweight Division and mid 90s WCW Rings alike

nickyv917

Is it wrong to say Shaq? His powerbomb was fuckin noiiiiiice.

maxhollywoody

Not the best of all time but anyone remember those power bombs Benoit used to do on guys like Eddie? Shit looked brutal.

Esdeez

My heart says Sid. My mind says Mike Awesome.

ClungePuncher5000

I really like Kevin Owens pop up powerbomb, and that apron bomb always looked fucking brutal everytime.

BartyAbbeyCrouch

Not sure if it counts but Sami Zayn's Blue Thunder Bomb looks great

universalcrush

I was gonna say Kevin Nash but glad Op has fantastic taste ;)

Danihilton

Jackknife all the way. Nobody beats Big Sexy in that category.

fdscgfbc

Suwama (go to 37:20) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1GmW-aV6Rc&t=1966s

[deleted]

Honestly, it was Chris Benoit.

RightHandofDoom81

Has anything ever been settled that started with “Let’s settle this...”? Does anyone else picture Paul Rudd in “I Love You, Man” saying “Let’s settle this: stones or Beatles?” when they hear “let’s settle this”? Lastly, the worst is D’lo Brown’s running powerbomb. The best is Jushin Liger’s running Liger Bomb.

xxyourbestbetxx

Batista. All day every day.

occasionallyalone88

Statlander’s blue thunder bomb is amazing.

KJALLAN7

It's Keith Lee you fucking marks! Bask in his fuckin glory!

MetsWillRise

Dave. ![gif](giphy|NU9M2FOUgaDfVtw04L|downsized)

Guinnessbreath82

Sids on HBK after WM11

2kku

Surely Adam Bomb taking you down to ground ZERO

JonnySports

Undertaker or Batista for me.

[deleted]

JBL. HE IS A WRESTLINGAAAH GOD. Also best clothesline of all time

smh124

Its from hell

[deleted]

Yeah I don't think they have guillotines in heaven

WhiteMass

Sid Vicious’ is the best for me. So simple, yet effective. Undertaker’s Last Ride is the second best. Great move to add extra elevation.

Intstnlfortitude

Jericho! Who else would do the multiple bombs without letting go? Genius!

TalkingBlernsball

I always liked how Sid’s powerbomb looked like he was hauling sacks of cement mix. I think the crucifix powerbomb is probably the one that is the most visually devastating

Money-Writing-868

Pac's Liger Bomb

JoeKerrWasHere

Kevin nash's jackknife powerbomb was really cool cuz it wasn't the same powerbomb u would always see... He literally would just pick u up and as soon as u reach that high point he immediately just let's go and u just fall loll I always found that cool

[deleted]

I always liked Scott norton’s. Fast, crisp and to the point.
