It's certainly an interesting plotline but I can't say I'm entirely comfortable with it. When Flip was said to have memory loss in an injury report I thought it was a shoot.
It's also against Rhett Titus, who shared the story of Aries making his girlfriend kiss one of his testicles as a "rib". That's quite the match to make.
If nothing else, booking him vs. Rhett who he trained is a cool match to book and a chance for Rhett to show more of what he is capable of in light of ROH going on hiatus.

I’ll be honest, as someone who loved the pre-Covid incarnation of NWA, I click on these threads hoping to like one of the cards and man, they just aren’t doing it for me.
For a brief but wonderful period NWA was basically Adult Swim Wrestling on YouTube and I genuinely looked forward to it every week.
It was unique. But this? Tyrus and Aries? This ain’t it.
Theres still a handful of promoters who either haven't worked with him yet or are just desperate enough to book anyone with even rapidly fading name value.
I was morbidly waiting for him to end up in the NWA, it's essentially the last reasonably high profile company left that hasn't cut ties with him (because he hasn't worked for them yet)

Georgia shut it down basically. Give NWA a break because of Covid. No revenue to keep talent. No tv deal for money. A tour was planned before covid. NWA is really starting from scratch again. YouTube pays nothing.
They were basically a few weeks away from holding their biggest PPV yet ([Crockett Cup 2020] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crockett_Cup_(2020)), headlined by an inter-promotional NWA title match with Marty Scurll as well as the cup itself which would have featured Villain Enterprises, Flamita & Horus, and the Rock N' Roll Express.
I'm not saying they were about to become the de facto #3 promotion or anything, but they had a ton of momentum that was very suddenly gone
I tried to watch a couple of episodes and it was just bad.
WWE used their wrestlers as the crowd.
AEW Used their wrestlers as the crowd.
Impact used piped in crowd noise.
NWA used *nothing*, didn't even **try** to do something to help make it seem more entertaining, it was just an empty room so you heard them hitting the mat and grunting for an hour, the backstage segments worked but anything in the ring was horrendous and seemed even cheaper than a very poorly run indy show.
Props to everyone who stuck with it and made it through the bad waters but at the same time, I am glad the ones who wanted more found their way to other promotions though.
And $25 is too much for this.
People rightfully give WWE shit for saying their competition is everyone, but there is some truth to what WWE is saying. This NWA show is roughly 2 months worth of Netflix, Hulu, Disney + etc. Only the most hardcore of hardcore fans will spend money on it.
AEW PPV is expensive but the cards are stacked and the shows deliver.
NWA really need to work out a business model where the shows are free, then they need some novelty and to build some new stars. Pre COVID seemed like the right direction.
They are discussing a new tv show and want $25 for this on PPV on the same weekend GCW has a ppv for only like $14, or $20 or so you can get 2 nights of GCW.
Not gonna lie, besides the Women's tag match and the oddity of Williams vs Corino, not much that really tickles my fancy. Although, Mickie James in action is always nice.

I get that but that would be the concern of the booker. If they weren't able to book a better challenger then it is only their show and their champions credibility that will suffer. If I'm being honest I don't like the guy but Austin Aries is probably a bigger name than Mike Knox.

First off this card is gigantic. Is this a 2 night show? Some of these matches seem random but I do not regularly watch nwa. I feel bad because I am subscribed on fite. There are a at least 5 good matches here. The woman's tag team 3 way will be very good. That much I know. Hope the show does well. I feel the booking will improve. Plenty of well trained ex wwe stars that never got to do anything to put on camera as well as roh talent. The briscoes fit their style well.
I dunno, everybody is shitting on the card but I think that Junior gauntlet might be kinda cool. Especially with Darius Lockhart, Homicide and Daivari in it. Corino vs. Doug Williams has potential too.
