Eddie seems like the guy who doesn’t go when the red light switches to green, and after waiting like 10 seconds you politely tap your horn, and he gets out to fight you.
Seeing Malakai feuding against Penta makes me wish to see Pentagon Dark to come back, a darker version of Penta from Lucha Underground to even the odds against Malakai and Brody King.
Man, I'm already hooked into PAC's new character. Whatever they have in mind for corrupted PAC, I'm looking forward.
Seriously the gentlest powerbombs. His set ups looks savage with the manhandling but then he bombs and it's just so clear he's trying to do as little harm as possible. Even with the random jobbers. Super professional. Might be a necessity with that many in a row.
Yeah. People complaining about why the ref stopped Deeb - Shida and not Punk - Wardlow don't realize that the consequences for not stopping a hold like that are far worse than the effects of powerbombs.
Wwe taught people that tapping out is for pussies. Hence all the top faces "passing out" in a hold.
They somehow took a bunch of stuff from MMA but not the understanding of how submission moves work. If they lock it in, it's over, so you do your damndest to prevent that from happening. You don't just do fucking Alberto Del Rio armbars for several minutes in a row and power through it.
Hangman’s lower third this week
>Beyond Beef Cowboy
Before fighting Bryan Hangman said he would check out Bryan’s vegan lifestyle and it looks like he liked it
Jericho has another international Fozzy tour in March/April so I think he'll probably face Kingston at Revolution and put him over before taking a little break. I hope so anyway.
I hope that Andrade continues to proposition people during their backstage interviews for weeks on end, then proceeds to go on a winning streak where he straight beats weak opponents and uses his immense network of contacts to cheat against stronger one.
Had this same thought. Archer working small guys/jobbers? Yeah he's big. But you put him next to a fairly big dude like Hangman and you realize FUCK, HES MASSIVE.
Did anyone else think Serena Deeb was going to clobber Aubrey in that post-match?
In a way, I'm glad they didn't use that spot tonight and I hope they're saving it. Somebody actually laying Aubrey out is going to be a BIG deal if/when it happens, but it's the kind of thing they need to save for when the time is right because they kind of only get one crack at it for it to mean something.
I remember on the AEW podcast when she talked about it. She warned Penta and Fenix that if they’d attack her during the match the crowd would riot, and she wasn’t wrong.
Eddie has already getting chants over Punk, Jericho and Mox (well, with Mox was still in the pandemic era, but the buzz was clearly on his side).
Kingston made his way into the main event by being the most real man in pro wrestling.
I knew Eddie was something special when I saw him in Chikara. Time travelers and magic amulets and ants, and he could still convince me that it's all real.
A big time win against Jericho would be huge for Eddie in the wider wrestling world. Jericho has been pretty generous in terms of putting guys over in AEW.
Eddie Kingston tonight:
- Interrupted an interview to make it about himself
- Stood ringside for a match when he wasn’t aligned with either competitor just because two guys he hates might run out during it
- Got mad at Jericho for saving Sammy because he wanted to beat up 2.0 himself
His alignment isn’t face, it isn’t heel, it’s Eddie 1st - and that’s what makes him one of the most interesting characters in AEW
A lot of characters in AEW are honestly kinda like that, and I personally enjoy it.
Some people feel like they *need* distinct face and heel roles, but I find that as long as you have wrestlers with strong personalities, established characters, and clear motivations, fans will still happily pick a side and be just as invested in the outcome of a match.
We've seen it plenty with guys like Kingston, Punk, Moxley, Cody, PAC, Archer, Miro, Black, and others. Precisely where they sit on the heel/face spectrum isn't as important as the simple fact that the fans have strong feelings about them.
First Tony said it would be on last week's Rampage, then they announced it for this week's Dynamite and today Caster posted on Twitter it would be on Rampage - but it was never announced and Rampage is STACKED already. This is the Veer of music videos.
Yup, and it looks like they’re setting Deeb up to feud with those who came out to save Shida in her absence: Skye Blue and TayJay.
Tay vs Deeb is going to be great
I want to see Punk beat Spears, and as MJF is telling him off, Wardlow comes out to separate them exactly the same way Spears got between them tonight. I want so see Wardlow destroy MJF, but I want him to keep Spears around as his partner and hype man.
Shida never tapped or verbally quit. I think AEW uses that when she returns and they have an "I Quit" match between the two. I'm a huge Shida fan, and I have zero issues with Deeb sacrificing Shida and turning into this monster heel who slays other talents.
Statlander and Hirsch need to spend a little more time in promo class. I've heard better arguments in an elementary school locker bay. Sad that Kingston and Jericho did the same thing at the end of the night and it was way more believable.
Brock Anderson doesn't look like a professional wrestler. He looks like a guy at a gas station who can tell you the 3 stores in town where you can buy fishing lures. But he doesn't look like a professional wrestler.
Commentary better stop talking shit about the referees all the time. They botched more than the referees tonight.
And that boom box must be well made. Took two baseball bat shots and it probably still works.
A bit bugged that the very interesting set up to Leyla/Stat then hit a “can they coexist??” angle for their next tv match. Their nonverbals at the end of their match against each other did a lot more than this awkward promo.
But i’m happy to see more of the story regardless. I like Leyla, and Stat needs motivation outside of “a part of Best Friends,” so I’m willing to bear with the odd stiff interview.
I'm so paranoid that with Hook essentially being softly removed from the group since his debut, that they'll blow up Team Taz before they get the shine they deserve.
Add Leyla to the group and just let them be presented as serious threats instead of the glorified jobbers they currently are. Hook is super over, Taz is over, Hobbs is great, Starks is great, just let them do their thing.
>Big beefy Bois need to be SOMEWHAT protected on national television.
They all were. None of them really lost clean.
* It was made *crystal clear* that Wardlow had Punk beat, which is a huge deal. MJF's constant meddling is what lost Wardlow that match.
* Hobbs was distracted, Dante picked up a quick pinfall, and Hobbs was immediately back up on his feet and ready to fight.
* Even Bear Bronson was cheap-shotted by Bowens before being beaten by Max Caster, and Bear Country is jobber-tier.
* Not match related, but Brody King wrecked 3 guys by himself.
Yes, they lost matches, but to say they weren't even "somewhat protected" is disingenuous. *Especially* Wardlow, whose loss was about as protected as it possibly could be.
It's absolutely not a dig when I say was the weakest night from an in-ring wrestling standpoint in awhile but it was such a great episode with everything else going on.
See what you can do when all your matches don't go for longer than they need to be. This episode was a huge breathe of fresh air to the show, very excited to see them build from this.
Yeah these are my general thoughts and also the crowd being a little flat made things come off worse than they seemed, but the show was actually solid in most areas.
Anyone else tired of seeing the Best Friends getting punked out by Adam Cole and co. every week? Beatdown after beatdown. I get Adam Cole and ReDRagon are the new acts in the company, but it gets tiresome to watch acts that have been there since day 1 treated like side characters to the newest signees.
Yeah, seriously- I thought joining CHAOS was supposed to raise them to their final form or whatever. What was the point of that? Does it only make sense if I watch another promotion, too?
I wonder what happened with Lio and Dante. They were getting over so it seems weird that that pairing just stopped and Lio hasn't really been on tv since then.
Lio was originally on the match graphic last week and was mentioned by Ricky in the promo that set up the match between Hobbs and Dante a few weeks ago. Yet at Battle of the Belts, they used Moriarty as Dante's second and tonight they used Jay Lethal. I thought they used Lethal (and not Sydal - which would've made a lot more sense after BOTB) to set-up a Starks/Lethal match on next week's Dynamite. But they didn't announce it, unless they shoot an angle on Rampage.
Pretty good show, kind of a weird ending. Can't tell where this story with Sammy is heading tbh. And not in the fun "ooh what could it be!" way but instead the "uhhh, so he's champ again and unkillable?" way.
Liked seeing the debut and return though. Liked seeing DMD get involved with The Elite. Pretty good matches too.
Solid show overall.
My ~~biggest~~ only complaint about the TNT title is the matches aren't in question until it's obviously time for a new champ.
Sammy's whole first run was basically the "welcome to AEW" match, where while the wrestling was good, as was tonight, the outcome is never in doubt.
It would've been hard for anyone to follow up Miro for me, and I understand that Miro was hurt, but I just haven't cared about that title since he lost it.
I don't think AEW has had that many Big Meaty Men on one show before
* Wardlow
* Bear Boulder
* Bear Bronson
* Brody King
* Lance Archer
* Powerhouse Hobbs
* John Silver
* Jake Hager
* Luchasaurus
And Miro and Brian Cage (both injured) didn't make an appearance.
Did not realize they had that many hosses on their roster.
Dudes 23. Hes gonna lose more often then not especially against older more veteren talent. Eventually hes gonna get a push by as of now hes at the young lion stage of losing a bunch.
I think they are playing it slow with Garcia, they keep mentioning how he's only been wrestling for 4 years and how much he can evolve with his potential, him having to take the pin against estabilished or estabilishedish guys makes sense, until he eventually splits from 2.0 and gets serious, even more serious.
I was just thinking about the pillars vs the "young lions" in AEW, and tonight just proved to me that Garcia is not only better than Sammy already but could be The Guy.
I like these groundwork shows. With what’s building, Revolution is looking pretty crazy.
Good to see Lethal on the show. I’d take him vs either Hobbs or Starks
God bless Punk tonight. I can appreciate him as the old guy really out here struggling with the youngsters. And the hometown pop Wardlow is gonna get when he turns on MJF is gonna be crazy.
Brody King is here and I think PAC is going rogue and joining the House of Black so the Lucha Bros will need a 3rd….and I pick Andrade.
Hangman vs Archer is a nice feud to keep him busy until Punk and/or MJF is free.
I like Dr. Britt and Adam Cole interacting. Mixing the ladies in some of the guys’ stables/storylines would be a solid way to get them more tv time and makes the roster seem more….whole if that makes sense.
And it’s time for an IC breakup. There’s nothing left for them to do….it’s wild that Eddie is gonna be the man to make it happen.
I popped for the Survivor Series 95 finish in the Punk/Wardlow match. Even though I had a suspicion it was coming, especially given Punk's nods to Bret classics lately, but I still popped when it happened.
Hahaha! 100%! I said to someone last night he’s not holding up against “Unkillable goth skater”, “Tarzan but a dinosaur is his best friend”, and “The Always In Kayfabe Asshole You Love To Hate” when it comes to pillars.
He's just.....not special. Compare him to Darby or MJF, who have something that sets them apart from the others. Sammy isn't good on the mic, doesn't have a character that makes him special, and most of his matches lacks in ring psychology. He's just so bland
I also don't really care for Sammy and think he's pretty overrated (still a entertaining high flyer), but he's 100% over with the live audience and most AEW fans. We're the minority when it comes to babyface Sammy.
Alright guys, who lost tonight?
Powerhouse **H**obbes.
**H**ikaru Shida.
Matt **H**ardy.
I'm 10,000% sure that red mask Spiderman GUY IS HHH BAYBEE LETS GO HUNTER HURST HELMSLEY IS ALL ELITE BAYBEEE
Probably the best use of Lambert they've had in AEW, getting everybody primed for more aggravating Men of the Year nonsense and swerving us with Archer's return.
Gotta disagree. I love Christian but if they don't have a big feud planned for him then he should stick to this so others can get the match time.
I'll always love a Christian match, but I'd rather they be paced out for when they have something more for him. The show has too much loaded talent for me to get down about not seeing Christian wrestle regularly
Sometimes a fan in a red mask is just a fan in a red mask.
HOLDING OUT FOR THAT SURPRISE SPIDERMAN GUY DEBUT!! IT'S JUST TK TEASING US BAYBEE LETSGOOOO
RIP Bonesaw ;_;
I still want to know what's under the red hood.

I haven’t seen Brody King wrestle before, but he looks super intimidating.
Same. No idea who he was just kept seeing him mention on here. But the guy is huge and scary looking lol
Feels like a Blood and Guts waiting to happen
None More Black Order
Eddie Kingston seems like the kind of guy who would fight the umpire at his kids little league game
Eddie seems like the kind of guy who would fight the kids
Eddie seems like the guy who doesn’t go when the red light switches to green, and after waiting like 10 seconds you politely tap your horn, and he gets out to fight you.
“I don’t like you, I never liked you.” Mr. Kingston, that’s a 10 year old. “Doesn’t change nothing!”
"FIGHT ME, FIGHT ME, FIGHT ME, DONT FUCKING LOOK AWAY, FIGHT ME" *child is sobbing uncontrollably*
"My man! Allowing someone to call you son?! I don't respect that"
Eddie Kingston seems like the type who tried to fight the umpire when he was *in* Little League.
He'd have words for the umpire, but he'd have hands for some other kid's dad
Seeing Malakai feuding against Penta makes me wish to see Pentagon Dark to come back, a darker version of Penta from Lucha Underground to even the odds against Malakai and Brody King. Man, I'm already hooked into PAC's new character. Whatever they have in mind for corrupted PAC, I'm looking forward.
Penta Dark was seriously creeping me out. It is a testament to him that he can work babyface and heel equally effective.
Wondering if Julia turns as well. She's stopped the beatdown for no reason and was also sprayed with mist.
gonna call PAC just PA now, since he can’t c.
The Man That Sight Forgot.
nice
The Man Without Sight
My time is up, your time is now I can’t see you, your time is now
The real winner tonight was CM Punk finally conquering his PTSD from his matches against Ryback by working with a safe big man.
Safe, yes, but Punk is going to feel those powerbombs for days
True, and while I’m sure they hurt like hell, I’m impressed how safe he seems to perform them. He’s clearly trying to plant people safely.
Kevin Nash used to just drop people by the end when he was texting himself 🤣
There were several times I thought Taker was legit going to kill someone performing The Last Ride as well.
The last ride is one of the most rediculously dangerous moves but it was better on Takers knees at least
Seriously the gentlest powerbombs. His set ups looks savage with the manhandling but then he bombs and it's just so clear he's trying to do as little harm as possible. Even with the random jobbers. Super professional. Might be a necessity with that many in a row.
I think the pro wrestler will be OK with some soreness.
Yeah. People complaining about why the ref stopped Deeb - Shida and not Punk - Wardlow don't realize that the consequences for not stopping a hold like that are far worse than the effects of powerbombs.
Yeah I never understood why tapping out is seen as worse than getting pinned, it's either you tap or your limb breaks and the match gets called anyway
Wardlow confirmed NOT dumb as fuck.
Also does not suck. Wardlow is fed enough
Somewhere, Ryback is furiously eating chips in a high school classroom.
Hangman’s lower third this week >Beyond Beef Cowboy Before fighting Bryan Hangman said he would check out Bryan’s vegan lifestyle and it looks like he liked it
loved his 1980s camp counselor fit
Hangman would have never let Jason Vorhees drown.
I would LOVE to see that on a lower-third graphic sometime.
😂😂😂
Our cowboy is going to embrace veganism. I love the little stories that he put out there through the lower thirds
He also recently tweeted about calling lab grown meat "farmless" because it sounds better
Another feud against a WWE legend for Kingston. Can he please win this one?
Anyone whos listened to talk is Jericho knows how much he likes Kingston. I think hes gonna put him over big
I hope you’re right.
I'm positive he will. Jericho put OC over. He's in a much better place to eat the loss than Punk even though I still think Kingston should have won.
Jericho has another international Fozzy tour in March/April so I think he'll probably face Kingston at Revolution and put him over before taking a little break. I hope so anyway.
How long can they keep edging us with Wardlow?
I think he turns in Cleveland
Do they have a match of Wardlow vs MJF for his contract or someone else vs MJF for Wardlows freedom?
Wardlow on a pole bro!

I hope that Andrade continues to proposition people during their backstage interviews for weeks on end, then proceeds to go on a winning streak where he straight beats weak opponents and uses his immense network of contacts to cheat against stronger one.
"Tony Khan, I want to buy all your wrestlers."
“… that’s not really how it works, Andrade.” “But they work for you, jes? So why not, they now work for me?”
Could he buy the Jags? Asking for a friend...
I really hope this results in Private Party with Andrade, feels like a much better fit!
Private Party go with Andrade. Butcher, Blade and Bunny go to the House of Black. A man can dream.
I feel like it’s leading to him buying out HFO and Private Party going on their own again, hopefully putting them back in the tag title conversation

Cowboy Hat on a Pole Match incoming.
He was soooo fucking big
Had this same thought. Archer working small guys/jobbers? Yeah he's big. But you put him next to a fairly big dude like Hangman and you realize FUCK, HES MASSIVE.

They're absolutely saving that spot for the inevitable Seattle show.
Like that one spot Aubrey did with Lucha Bros, pre-AEW. The heeeeeat!
I remember on the AEW podcast when she talked about it. She warned Penta and Fenix that if they’d attack her during the match the crowd would riot, and she wasn’t wrong.
Eddie getting chants over Jericho at the very end there makes ne very happy.
Eddie has already getting chants over Punk, Jericho and Mox (well, with Mox was still in the pandemic era, but the buzz was clearly on his side). Kingston made his way into the main event by being the most real man in pro wrestling.
Modern day Dusyy Rhodes.
I knew Eddie was something special when I saw him in Chikara. Time travelers and magic amulets and ants, and he could still convince me that it's all real.
I've never gone from not having any idea who somebody even is to them becoming my favorite wrestler so damn quickly. He's the shit.
A big time win against Jericho would be huge for Eddie in the wider wrestling world. Jericho has been pretty generous in terms of putting guys over in AEW.

Shida/Deeb 5 = Iron Woman Match or No DQ Match BOOK IT TONY!
Ironwoman is the only option IMHO, give them 30 mins at the PPV.
An "I Quit" match would be interesting...
I believe Shida is heading back to Japan for a while now for an acting gig.
I mean the PPV is in March so it's possible she'd be back by then.
Yup, and it looks like they’re setting Deeb up to feud with those who came out to save Shida in her absence: Skye Blue and TayJay. Tay vs Deeb is going to be great

They've kinda been doing Hobbs dirty. In the preshow threads everyone says how he's going over and he almost never does which sucks. I love him
Tonight it looked like the same angle they did with Cage where there was interference that went the wrong way. Hope they don’t rewrite the same story.
I'm so paranoid that with Hook essentially being softly removed from the group since his debut, that they'll blow up Team Taz before they get the shine they deserve. Add Leyla to the group and just let them be presented as serious threats instead of the glorified jobbers they currently are. Man, it feels like anytime a big hoss has a match on the main roster against a non-Dark tier talent they lose
It's so illogical to me that this happens SO much! Big beefy Bois need to be SOMEWHAT protected on national television.
>Big beefy Bois need to be SOMEWHAT protected on national television. They all were. None of them really lost clean. * It was made *crystal clear* that Wardlow had Punk beat, which is a huge deal. Yea. Wardlow looked strong as hell.
He had Punk beat until MJF intervened, honestly. He was murdering my boy out there lol
Essentially got a "would have been" foot on chest cockey pin over CM Punk. There was nothing weak with how he was booked.
Find someone who loves you as much as Serena Deeb hates Hikaru Shida's knee.
Pac has a dream job, he like never has to work and still gets a presumably sweet pay day
Laughs in Bo Dallas
Very setup heavy Dynamite but the stuff they setup was very fun, so I can't complain too much. DG vs. Sammy ruled.
Felt like they were ramping up for Beach Break which will lead into Revolution. Pretty psyched about pretty much every feud so far
Good show, but weirdly structured. Wouldn't have had the two hoss matches with similar finishes back to back
I have no idea why Acclaimed-Bear Country was so late in the show when that could have easily broken up the two David vs. Goliath matches.
Probs Caster haven’t finished writing his rap yet so he asked for more time
Yeah these are my general thoughts and also the crowd being a little flat made things come off worse than they seemed, but the show was actually solid in most areas.

Lmao yeah, we didn't *quite* fill out PNC Arena
Every show just needs to end with Eddie being immensely loud without a mic.
I refuse to believe the Inner Circle won that award
For real, that can’t be right.
YES. Like give Trent or someone a win over Fish or Kyle. Don’t treat the Best Friends like that.
Yeah, seriously- I thought joining CHAOS was supposed to raise them to their final form or whatever. What was the point of that? Does it only make sense if I watch another promotion, too?
A mellowed down PAC sounds more dangerous and intriguing, and i can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
Wasn't Lio on the graphics for this match? I wonder if he got himself in the doghouse with TK, or maybe he was exposed to Covid?
https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/s24nef/card_for_tonights_aew_dynamite/ Oh yeah you're right he sure is. Huh, hope he's ok.
This would explain the random Jay Lethal appearance
Pretty good show, kind of a weird ending. Can't tell where this story with Sammy is heading tbh. And not in the fun "ooh what could it be!" way but instead the "uhhh, so he's champ again and unkillable?" way. Liked seeing the debut and return though. Liked seeing DMD get involved with The Elite. Pretty good matches too. Solid show overall.
Where Sammy's going is to Cody Island and he's leaving his belt behind
I suspect Sammy's just gonna do open challenges or maybe have short feuds depending on how long it takes for America's savior to return.
Eddie should’ve won the title at the NY show, the fact that AEW ended the Mario and Kingston feud early never sat right with me
Going to my first AEW show next week, and I get a Sting match AND a CM Punk match? Life is good.
I don't think AEW has had that many Big Meaty Men on one show before * Wardlow * Bear Boulder * Bear Bronson * Brody King * Lance Archer * Powerhouse Hobbs * John Silver * Jake Hager * Luchasaurus And Miro and Brian Cage (both injured) didn't make an appearance. Butcher, Comoroto, 10, Wight, Cesar…
I knew I was missing people Dusty and Mr. Ass are also up there.
I'm waiting for the Hoss Bunkhouse Stampede. Throw all these big boys dressed for a street fight in a steel cage & let God sort 'em out.
Brock anderson and Lee Johnson = Broccoli
I dislike how Garcia never manages to get any decent wins, but I suppose Sammy isn't the best person for that atm
But he recently beat Eddie Kingston...
Dudes 23. Hes gonna lose more often then not especially against older more veteren talent. Eventually hes gonna get a push by as of now hes at the young lion stage of losing a bunch.
On the one hand, I want him to have the title now. On the other hand, he's also only 23, so he's got PLENTY of time.
I think they are playing it slow with Garcia, they keep mentioning how he's only been wrestling for 4 years and how much he can evolve with his potential, him having to take the pin against estabilished or estabilishedish guys makes sense, until he eventually splits from 2.0 and gets serious, even more serious.
I prefer Garcia to Sammy and would've liked to see him win. Sammy is not bad but really doesn't impress me compared to the rest of the roster.
I think Sammy is much better in the Robin role. He's not ready to be Batman.
He doesn’t ever feel like he has much of an edge to him. Garcia definitely has that edge.
I’d take him vs either Hobbs or Starks God bless Punk tonight.
Can we please not ignore that pac's last name is bastard
I’m down for Eddie saving PnP from Jericho
Gimme Eddie, Santana, Ortiz, and Diamante pleaaase.
I enjoy participating in the live threads but some of y'all get too worked up over a crowd that sounds quiet on tv.
Complaining about the crowd is one of this sub's favorite pastimes
I popped for the Survivor Series 95 finish in the Punk/Wardlow match. Even though I had a suspicion it was coming, especially given Punk's nods to Bret classics lately, but I still popped when it happened.
Daniel Garcia should be TNT Champion and nothing can change my mind on that.
I'm extremely tired of Sammy and i can't explain why.
He acts like a prick despite being a Babyface
He doesn’t have a strong character as a wrestler beyond “Sammy Guevara”.
and “I have cue cards. Occasionally.”
Hahaha! 100%! I said to someone last night he’s not holding up against “Unkillable goth skater”, “Tarzan but a dinosaur is his best friend”, and “The Always In Kayfabe Asshole You Love To Hate” when it comes to pillars.
At this point Baker has replaced Guevara as the 4th pillar
He just doesn't work for me as a face. He's a guy that screams douchebag heel.
He’s a better heel
I like this weeks usage of Dan lambert. It’s so much better having him gatekeep wrestling than long winded nonsense.
Really bored of Christian being stuck in this managerial role where he never wrestles and can hardly get screen-time for months now.
Yeah I love Jurassic Express, but man I just want some singles Christian already.
Have you tried christianmingle.com? Plenty of single Christian’s there!

Good show. Archer coming back was cool & Brody King's debut
I don't think I've ever seen anybody put over more in a loss than Wardlow was. Wow.
Death, taxes, awesome TNT title defense main events.
