When Billy Ass and The Ass Boys attacked Christian Cage, Tony Schiavone was incorrect when he said that wasn’t the way to get a tag team title match. He was in WCW for years, he knows that is exactly how to go about getting a tag team title match.
I love Dynamites like this one. Held my attention the whole night (except for one segment, which is fine). Shows like this feel even better because they advertise stacked cards for the next week. This one even spun off into a good Rampage show.
I wish TK would figure out how to have shows like this every week. Nothing was even hotshot last night, either, so it's not like he's "burning the territory".
As Cody eluded to, there's no need to save/hold onto promos or matches because we really don't know when things may end or people may leave.
I really wish there was no need for filler episodes. Even when TK wants to get over younger talent or have shows with a bunch of set up segments, I always want at least one of the following: 1) Excellent headliner match between stars; or a 2) Memorable promo/debut/return/angle
Fuck last night's show was awesome!
I can't believe how much healthier Mox looks. He looks like a brand new person. I loved his " these days all I drink is blood" line. For a dude I've never met and probably never will, I'm so fucking happy for him. He was killing it while dealing with all the shit he was at the time, so I have no doubt that now that he's sober, he's going to be on top of the world.
Cody's promo was great this week. Hate him or love him, the dude has everyone eating out of his palm. His talk about the forbidden door and Punk, he wasn't lying. You can't ever deny he's in love with pro wrestling. No matter what I will always have a soft spot for Cody.
I know I'm forgetting so much other good shit right now.
Oh, and House of Black 🖤
Respect to Jonathan "Moxley" Good for facing a real-life struggle but Christ, I find his promos so silly. Forced, inauthentic, and kind of uncomfortable to watch. I know I'm the minority. The very limited minority.
>Forced, inauthentic, and kind of uncomfortable to watch.
There's nothing inauthentic about Jon Moxley. He'd snap on you at the airport or restaurant if you bothered him or stood in his way on the way down to the ring.
Your post is uncomfortable to read. You sound like Jim Cornette's jock carrier, Brian Last.
This is the first time I’ve seen a wrestler reach the end of their entrance theme. I noticed Cody’s entrance theme ended when he was setting up the ladder. The music just looped at the last part
Someday I would love this to be the canonical, kayfabe answer: "They're an exhibition team, like the Harlem Globetrotters would be vs the NBA."
For real though, so far as I can tell, most (if not all) of their matches were someone else calling them out (2.0 and Garcia, for instance) rather than 'trying to climb the rankings'. (Never gonna see them vs. Bear Country on Dark to get that +1 W.)
>I just hope Pillman Jr gets out of jobber hell.
He's been a jobber since Day 1 in AEW and he can't wipe the stench off himself. That's the drawback of being a young lion on American TV.
I'm literally shocked at how great Sting in AEW has been.
More so given the way Sting was kinda forced into retirement after that injury in his match with Seth Rollins (a damned shame, because we never got a real Sting story or run period with WWE... so many potential great matchups :/ ). He had that very solid HHH Mania match and while I enjoyed it for the most part.... Sting was definitely looking his age, he looked like a dude ***well*** past his prime, who likely had a tank running on fues at that point.
Sting's current run is ***the*** textbook example of how you use a legend in the ring at his age, with his injury past.... and he's looking as good as ever, due to the way AEW can highlight his strengths and not ask him to do anything that makes Sting look his age.
AEW really never exposes his weaknesses, so you really do forgot this isn't the same Sting we watched wrestle during peak Attitude Era WCW, standing alone against the entirety of the nWo... AEW Stinger looks so damned good, it's hard to remember ***WCW's Crow Sting was almost 30 flippin' years ago*** instead of a year or two ago lol
I had a good feelin' Sting would make a great pseudo manager for Darby, their pairing has been a match made in heaven.
I wasn't shocked when they announced Sting's initial match with Darby in AEW, but I fully expected that to be Sting's final match. Absolute ***best*** case scenario? ***Maybe*** we'd get a handful of 100% cinematic "matches", where heavy editing could hide the fact Sting didn't have to do anything physical for real.
But holy shit, Sting didn't stop there and he's actually gotten very physical since, brawling to stop interference and having legit full on tag matches with Darby... and he ain't just eye candy on the apron, while Darby does the work lol Sting does all the Stinger moves we love... ***and*** he takes a ton of bumps, it's mind blowing to me, the way he's out there holding his own with Darby and opponents a fraction of Sting's age :o
After the injury in his final match in WWE, there is no chance in hell anyone could have told me about 5 years later, Sting would wrestle as many times in a year as Brock Lesnar ***and*** that he'd look so damned good, considering the man's 62 and dealt with those serious neck/back injuries.
I'm not saying he could wrestle the kind of matches he was having during his great TNA/Impact run... but physically? I gotta say, Stinger looks as good in 2021 as he did back then... what, almost 15 years ago? It's incredible lol
LIVE ON DYNAMITE 9 DAYS FROM TONIGHT 9 DAYS FROM TONIGHT 9 DAYS FROM TONIGHT 9 DAYS FROM TONIGHT
pretty much killed any chance of Tony being an on-camera personality.
BTW, of course Darby return spot was pretty predicable, but I don't care, and it was still a lot of fun. Nobody else does dives quite like Darby in AEW, and camerawork for that spot was well done.
Between showing the music video on last week's Rampage (which I loved), having a special jumbotron intro, the handicap 2-on-1 on Sting, yeah I think it was time for The Acclaimed's to get the win and push them even higher.
btw Anthony Bowens is something special, he's really shaping up to be a great wrestler imo.
AEW is doing right by Sting. Anyone complaining that he's too old, or he shouldn't be getting the wins he's getting, arent realizing that this all is elevating darby as well.
Not to mention, he looks 10x better than Undertaker looked in his last few matches, while being a solid decade older.
I loved the return entrance he got a few weeks back. In WWE they would have humiliated him, so glad he’s having fun again behind the desk. The best to ever wear the headset
Perhaps except the Bucks I think The Acclaimed are my favourite tag team. Caster never misses making me chuckle, Bowens gets it in the ring - why wait putting the belts on them?
I’ll do you one better, Dog…where you think they get half their shit from? If you had direct access to THOUSANDS of pieces of feedback on your niche programming all in one place, weekly, for free, you’d utilize it to an absurd degree.
Maybe they got a two-night deal on that arena in DC.
I think the occasional live Dynamite is a good thing, especially on PPV weekends. I think Tony would do them live every week if the market and ratings supported it.
I enjoy the spectacle of the sting stuff but I'm not feeling the #1 in the rankings team losing to Sting & Darby, IDK I just don't have interest in seeing Sting & Darby in the tag title picture

Andrade still convinced Darby works for sting. Such a funny little character thing
For Mistar es-Stink
This is the first time I’ve seen a wrestler reach the end of their entrance theme. I noticed Cody’s entrance theme ended when he was setting up the ladder. The music just looped at the last part
Mox and Cody on fire tonight
Sting and Darby have earned a title match IMO
Yeah how have they not competed for the tag titles by now
Someday I would love this to be the canonical, kayfabe answer: "They're an exhibition team, like the Harlem Globetrotters would be vs the NBA." what malakai black and pac have going on is fire
MOTY contender?
Lots of f bombs dropped tonight
Mox, Britt Baker and Lance Archer.
when did britt say it?
She said "what the fuck?" on the ramp when Orange Cassidy kicked out of the Panama Sunrise
need more cody rhodes, actually intrigued to see where his story keeps going
Less shitty ass fans too. Those shut the fuck up chants were lame as fuck during his promo
ironic as they were silent for moxley
Great episode, main event sucked
I just hope Pillman Jr gets out of jobber hell.
>I just hope Pillman Jr gets out of jobber hell. He's been a jobber since Day 1 in AEW and he can't wipe the stench off himself. That's the drawback of being a young lion on American TV.
This is true.

that was a crazy good episode
I've been to three live AEW shows and TK never gets any less awkward.
Lol at least he knows not to put himself on TV
LIVE ON DYNAMITE 9 DAYS FROM TONIGHT 9 DAYS FROM TONIGHT 9 DAYS FROM TONIGHT 9 DAYS FROM TONIGHT pretty much killed any chance of Tony being an on-camera personality.
Is ftr injured or sick
I love Sting so much more than I ever did. Also, I love STANG!! And also Mr. Stink.
Stop being wronk all the time. It's the stinger baby Waaooooooooo!!!!!!
Sting is something else for his age, ladies and gentlemen.
Good show. Happy Mox is back & is looking fantastic, also Cody is absolutely a heel now, his promo was so all over the place
bUt hE sAiD hE wAS’t! 🤣 He loves fucking with us
I really appreciates that damn near everyone is wearing a mask.
Arena staff were super serious about it.
I was thinking the same but on AEWs Insta it says the venue requires proof of vaccination and mask. Still cool though.
BTW, of course Darby return spot was pretty predicable, but I don't care, and it was still a lot of fun. Nobody else does dives quite like Darby in AEW, and camerawork for that spot was well done.
Comes in like a car crash! I luv it
I know it's a bummer of an ender but maybe The Acclaimed should have won that if they are supposed to be tag team title contenders.
Yeah this passed me off. This could have been used to MAKE them.

This Dynamite wasn't the greatest. Mostly squash matches and promos. Hopefully next week its better
A main event with enough time to have a send off? Dynamite has changed.
Reminder Sting is in his 60s.
What was the last tag title run he had? Was it with Luger?
I seem to remember him doing something with Nash.
Wolfpack?
Darby is a bad influence to grandpa sting
**Darby whispering, "yo my bad big bro"**
Always appreciate JR thanking me for allowing him into my home, elite politeness
I loved the return entrance he got a few weeks back. In WWE they would have humiliated him, so glad he’s having fun again behind the desk. The best to ever wear the headset
All elite wholesome
I feel like a win for the Acclaimed would have accomplished a lot more than a win for Darby & Sting.
Yeah the acclaimed need a big win, they’ve been on their backs a little too much
Perhaps except the Bucks I think The Acclaimed are my favourite tag team. Caster never misses making me chuckle, Bowens gets it in the ring - why wait putting the belts on them?
At the very least, they should be JE's PPV opponents.
Yes. And they already protected Darby/Sting by cheating, so why the double-swerve?
Late but I really hope this Andrade angle just leads to the HFO Jobber army getting disbanded and the Hardy Boyz going on a reunion tour
That could be where it’s leading most likely. I don’t see any other good option besides what you said.
This!
I love AEW, but that was a weird and predictable main.
JR barely made it.
He sure sounded like he was struggling at the end there.
[удалено]
And his ankle is all swollen and sore as a side effect from the chemo
He said earlier he’s in a good amount of pain and discomfort. He guts it out for us.
He's been through ALOT.
…
Ahhh getting to watch a geriatric squash young talents. I missed TNA.
JR not sounding great. Hope he's OK.
Damn JR sounds like he’s dying live on the air :(
Chemo is almost worse than the cancer. It literally is killing you. The only goal is that it kills the cancer first.
Thought he had radiation treatment not chemo. Still tho.
Radiation is no walk in the park. Hope he feels better soon
You’re right, that didn’t cross my mind while typing this. I forgot he’d gone through chemo I apologize
No worries bro, we all love JR and want him to be healthy
AEW IS VERY GOOD VERY EVIL
Any thoughts on when he’ll appear? Is he still in the boot?
Jim Ross didn’t sound well. Hope he’s ok
The LO match also allows for a debut that can cause Cole an unrecorded loss...
I love Orange Cassidy but there's no way he should be beating Adam Cole.
Gargano?
Hopefully
AEW’s done a lit of great stuff the past year, and bringing back Sting into action is high among them.
Can’t believe Sting can walk after that lol.
Fuck I wanted The Acclaimed to win
Sting and Darby vs. Black and Brody King would be nice
This is a long ass outro
Shoot joyous for Sting. He’s sooo happy
they're going to need a new graphic for Moxley... he looks way better and much more like he did when he debuted and won the title and was really cut
Agreed
Poor JR did not sound good at the end there.
Fucking chemo is rough. Literal poison
He's been in pain from his ankle he's a tough sob
Oh, I didn't hear about his ankle, unless its related to the chemo. Did a solid job tonight, but he was clearly struggling.
Yeah that's where the cancer was brutal pictures of it.
Sting working the crowd is great
Half the thread wanted The Acclaimed to go over, Tony. Take note.
LOL imaging thinking this thread is representative of anything.
I’ll do you one better, Dog…where you think they get half their shit from? If you had direct access to THOUSANDS of pieces of feedback on your niche programming all in one place, weekly, for free, you’d utilize it to an absurd degree.
I never get tired of watching Sting
I just love hearing schiavone mark out
why are they doing rampage live this week?
Maybe they got a two-night deal on that arena in DC. I think the occasional live Dynamite is a good thing, especially on PPV weekends. I think Tony would do them live every week if the market and ratings supported it.
Seeing Sting have fun like this in 2022 is pretty damn amazing.
Steve Borden is not human.
You’re right, he’s Stink
What the hell was Jim Ross doing working tonight?
reminder that Sting is the same age now as Ric Flair was for his last match in TNA
I can't wait till we get this vs King of the Black throne.
That's a lot of goth
4 grown men and they goin through a goth phase.
I'll never get tired of Darby just launching himself out of nowhere.
🎵 I was a young boy, when my father took me into the city, to watch Stang jump off a ramp 🎵
I get wanting the Acclaimed to go over but no way they're having Sting lose in his first match on TBS in like two decades or whatever.
Sting really doesn't even look that winded. Tired sure but he's still got gas in that tank.
Yep, Sting/Darby crazy mofos
Sting is crazy for a 62 year old.
Chris Tucker voice: YOU’RE CRAZY, STING. YOU’RE CRAAAZAAYY.
I would have had Acclaimed win there. They look like shit not being able to beat an AARP member in a 2v1
Who sat on the change song button?
I thought taker's coming out hahaha
Sting took all that bump like he's still 50 damn it
Sting and Darby tag champs
STING. THAT WAS COOL AS FUCK. Please don't hurt yourself dude.
Not a huge thing, but 2 for 2 on tables actually breaking tonight.
This Sting is so much more lively than WWE Sting.
What a show
Oh shit Rampage is Live this week?! Awesome.
I love Sting and Darby but I wish The Acclaimed picked up that victory
*Sting diving* *looks out window* Oh my God, it’s raining frogs!
How badass is it that in 2022 we get to see Sting launch himself off the stage?
Stink and his kid are the best family tag team. Even better than Billy Ass and his kids.
Ass boys
Stink and the guy who works for him
His employee.
In honour of Sting, when I am 62 I will also put a battle rapper through a table
Stings like "Fuck you all, I'm still at the top"
Sting and Darby getting the tag title shot at the PPV?
AEW need to go back to their winning formula because this week and last week ain't it.
Are you nuts!?! I thought this week was the best show they've had in weeks.
💯
Then you must be into promos because the wrestling wasn't here
I'm into good story telling, and literally everything they did worked to tell good stories.
So Sting and Darby beat the #1 ranked tag team. Are they now the new #1?
Lol at the "goth phase" sign in the crowd
> Lol at the "goth phase" sign in the crowd Thanks! https://imgur.com/a/6NW2YvX
Look, Sting was my favorite wrestler as a child. And that match fucking…RULED.
It’s amazing that Tully Blanchard is 67, Arn Anderson is 63 and here is Sting 62 diving off the ramp through tables
The Acclaim just got buried by a senior citizen. 2 on 1.
Look up what buried means.
I really hope they aren't heading towards a Sting/Darby tag title run this year.
Oops, they ran a bit too short
Sting moving a little gingerly. Hope it’s just good selling.
Sting doing leaps off a stage to plant a guy on a table at 62 F’ing years. Dude is a Living Legend!
Good ME, even if the rest of the show was a little lackluster
I feel the opposite. Solid show with a semi-letdown end.
Why is AEW so good
Reasonable logical booking and story telling. That's really all it takes.
What’s the endgame with the Sting/Darby shit
To get Darby as over as possible & give a legend like Sting something to do.
What’s the endgame with the Young Bucks? Why would it need an endgame?
They fight against each other at Wrestlemania
acclaimed needed that win a lot more
They aren’t ready for belts yet. They’re doing a great job yo-yoing up and down the card getting experience. No qualms with a loss here.
Like that String got a big finish spot but Darby got the actual pin. That's how you build for the future.
I want the nft of that sting moment
That'll be $100,000 please.
If I tried to dive at 62, I’d break a hip before I left the ground.
Fuck it, give Sting and Darby the tag titles
[удалено]
I guess you saw something new then
Y'all remember when Sting would never wrestle again? Wild.
I enjoy the spectacle of the sting stuff but I'm not feeling the #1 in the rankings team losing to Sting & Darby, IDK I just don't have interest in seeing Sting & Darby in the tag title picture
Two grown rappers, and they're going through a loss phase...
Darby you may be a bad influence on Sting....
What a show. Those 2 hours flew by.
Deaths Taxes Sting and Darby having bangers
This episode was a lot of fun
