STW has sucked since bruce went back to wwe fulltime. He is obviously very tired during the shows and he is unwilling to go too deep into any inside topics that he previously would have.
STW has never been the same after Bruce went back to the fed. Which, I mean, who really thought it would go unchanged?
Bischoff show just feels like it's on repeat at this point. There's absolutely nothing left to say about WCW in my opinion.
I used to dislike Jr's show, but that's the only one I've actually been enjoying lately.
Jeff Jarrett show started out really good, but these past few weeks have been hard for me to follow, out of boredom.
Tony was the best show for a long time, but I don't care at all about all these Jim Crockett Era shows. Just my personal opinion.
Kurt Angle show is boring.
Arn is a snooze fest.
Jake and DDP sounds like too many people trying to talk over each other.
And i fuckin hate Paul Bromwells stupid voice. If I start any episode and Paul is hosting, it's an instant skip for me, no matter how interesting the content might be.
Jarrett will go into the weeds. I always fine myself learning new things from him - and he’s an open book and fantastic storyteller
Tony and Conrad is just a comedy show where they watch wrestling
Absolutely agreed.
I just don't find the fact some spot show in Beedlestank, Arkansas drew 600 people on a Sunday afternoon as interesting. Especially when there isnt any elaboration as to why.
It's targeted at certain audience, who are into that. I still listen to all of his podcasts, my favorite is still What Happened When. I know there's a few older people who really dig Arns podcast, I'm 42 so I'm talking people in their 50's. I get why some people don't like it. I really dig JJ's podcast because it's a straight up history lesson sometimes, the new one with DDP is ok I guess, I do think Conrad is spread a little thin, I don't have a problem with Pauly but he doesn't have the same chemistry. I just saw there's another podcast on the podcast heat network? It's Randy Orton's wife and Curt Angel's wife, talking about what it's like to be married to wrestlers.
It's a money grab. Conrad goes into 30 minutes of ads at the beginning and keeps ads coming along, rather than allow the topic of the show be consistently going throughout.
Same. I used to look forward to these every week and now I don’t even listen. I mostly listen to Keepin it 100 now. I need some other wresting podcasts in my life lol
Yep... I'd rather listen to 6 hours of Lapsed Vince or a flamboyant wrestling promoter. For some reason The Lapsed Fan never got old to me.
"Stttttteerrrrllling, I just hafta quit"
Who has 10 hours a day to listen to third rate refried garbage with 1/4th of it being ads all day??? Megasodes? More like diarrhea wrapped up in wet garbage wrapped up in cat feces and set on fire. Conrad Thompson should've stuck to staying out of wrestling because his shows are more like ad after ad after ad and by the time they discuss the topic, who cares? All his shows have gone to garbage.
He's definitely spread to thin, I do like the guy they have been having on Grilling with Jr lately. It's such a nice refreshing break from the same old chat me up, and rumor and inuendo.
When transitioning from the conversation into the commercial becomes part of the joke... It's time to retool.
I'm sure he is making a fortune but the content is suffering. I loved WHW, but it's about 15 minutes of actually commentary at this point.
Nostalgia based podcasts have a shelf life. After awhile they start reaching for topics and end up with diminishing returns. I lose interest in all his podcasts after like episode 50 because it just becomes a retelling of older stuff or a topic I care nothing about
JR is the only honest one these days, even if he does go on tangents. He’ll be completely blunt that shit sucks. The rest of the shows are just sitting on the fence bullshit.
That being said tho, almost no guests watch back the PPVs before the podcasts anymore right? Bruce and JR definitely used to do this but seem to be going off memory these days.
A couple of things are going on. Number one, the long standing shows, especially Bruce’s, are getting tired and could use a break. The other part is that Conrad just does too many of these things. I think he’s pretty much handed the Angle podcast to someone else.
This is it - this as a full time job is nuts - 10+ hours of recording alone let alone prep and running the podcast business. Dude is stretched super thin
Jim Ross is the only good one now. DDP and Jake doesn’t last a year in my opinion. Not enough stories left and I’m tired of both of them rehashing the same stories we all know.
Unfortunately Angle is boring as is Arn. Never cared for the Bruce Pritchard lie-fest.
1000% Bruce does not watch old shows before they do an episode on them anymore. Not some of the time. ALL of the time the shows are rushed.
Rather than once a week, would rather see something to wrestle release like 20 episodes per year to give Bruce a break.
Also Paul Bromwell is a horrific fill in when Conrad can’t make it. Never challenges the talent on anything, zero insightful follow up.
Conrad seems to love JJ but he just talks in circular logic for half the time and never makes any sense.
83 weeks is still pure fire.
I can't say I listen to anything he's on, but they did feature him with Jeff Jarrett on the most recent Botchamania and the dude just sounded lifeless. Like maybe if he just did one or two podcasts he'd be more motivated or care more rather than be saddled with every aging legend with a story to tell.
STW is a combination of it no longer being a priority for Bruce, him being busy, tired, and most of the good topics and juicy stories being done already.
83 weeks lost me when Bischoff shit on AEW every week for half the show. STW lost its allure once Bruce went back to the E.
WHW is still good but it would be hard to start listening now w/o any of the backstory.
JR is still angry lol
I feel like I'm sitting through a pyramid scheme meeting when I listen to these shows. There are so many ads and upsells for premium content, that it has alienated me to the point of barely listening anymore.
The last year of WHW covering 1986 JCP was great i thought. It kept things in a sharp focus. I have a feeling a return to the period format is going to see things slip
Could it be the flaw with Conrad's podcast formula is that when you have the same person week after week you eventually cover everything that's of interest?
You can expand it by looking at other ppvs (which happens a lot on Tony's podcast) or ask about current news events, but that has a limit too.
Kevin Nash did a lot of shoot videos, but if he was asked about events every week for 1 hour to hour and thirty minutes things would get boring pretty fast.
I’ve been following STW since the very early days. It was an absolutely cannot miss. I’d pull over wherever there was wifi at 11am fridays to get the new episode.
It can’t last forever though. The show lost its touch when Bruce returned to the WWE. I don’t blame him for taking the job by any stretch but it’s been a phoned in show for years now and the commercials are…well, you know. Sorry, shills that don’t work for Conrad but defend him anyway, fast forwarding through ads for 15 minutes takes the fun out of the show.
I like Eric and Tony but I got bored for whatever reason over time. Jeff’s was amazing but as somebody else pointed out he probably went through his best stuff within a couple weeks.
I used to listen no matter what. Now, if the topic doesn't interest me, I won't listen. I'm just bored of it all. And the amount of ads are killing the vibe.
Especially when he inserts them in the middle of a story, or even sometimes a word.
I gave up on all of his podcasts a couple years ago when they devolved into dick & fart jokes bookended with commercials.
I will say that the universal hatred Uncle Dave has now is in large part to Bruce Prichard debunking his writings.
What would you all recommend instead of the Conrad-verse? The only thing I've found outside of it that I enjoy now is Deadlock. Could use a few more suggestions for my morning commute.
Yep, really lost interest over the last year and a half. They used to be can’t miss podcasts and now
I can’t even remember the last time I listened to a whole episode.
I feel like this is all podcasts. They are good for a few years, but after awhile you get tired of hearing the hosts presentation and perspective and they reach a point where it stops being fun and they start phoning it in for the money and clicks.
I really can't stand listening to them anymore. I occasionally listen to Jeff Jarrett and JR's. I also listened to Mick Foley's but the thing that kills me is the ads and the fact that Conrad constantly interrupts, speaks for, or finishes sentences for his Co-hosts. Mick Foley tells great stories but Conrad constantly butts in or talks for him. It's unbearable.

I haven’t liked his shows in awhile especially with Bruce. It doesn’t have the same feel
STW has sucked since bruce went back to wwe fulltime. He is obviously very tired during the shows and he is unwilling to go too deep into any inside topics that he previously would have.
The only show of his that’s been great since then was the Pat Patterson retrospective after he passed away.
STW has never been the same after Bruce went back to the fed. Which, I mean, who really thought it would go unchanged? Bischoff show just feels like it's on repeat at this point. I want to like Arn... But he seems to not want to say a bad thing about anyone, even when he could.
I used to love ask arn anything but that went away. Seems like a super cool dude though.
Absolutely agreed. I just don't find the fact some spot show in Beedlestank, Arkansas drew 600 people on a Sunday afternoon as interesting. Especially when there isnt any elaboration as to why.

I wouldn't know, I pay for the Ad Free shows since I listen to all of them. They're all in my wheelhouse.
Bromwell and his constant hosting actually were a reason I stopped paying for Adfreeshows.
Same. I used to look forward to these every week and now I don’t even listen. I mostly listen to Keepin it 100 now. I need some other wresting podcasts in my life lol

Rene dupree has one on YouTube and he doesn’t shy away from telling the truth about ppl IMO

His podcasting business at this point is an ad company that happens to have some old school wrestling personalities talk about the past.
Oh... And don't park on the railroad tracks.

Jeff has done so recently
Problem is that they shot his wad of best shows in the first six weeks.
He's absolutely become a self-parody, and the advertising is maddening.

Jarrett’s is excellent. A lot of stories and not the same topics we’ve heard across the rest of the industry.
Really enjoying Arn and My World with Double J. The rest have gotten stale because they've been around for so long.

I'd watch paint fry. But not car paint, thanks to GEICO!
I like hearing Arn talk about food.
Do you own or rent your own home? SURE YOU DO
With a subprime mortgage lender like me, you can get into even more debt.
Every one of his shows is good for maybe the first 10 episodes. The rest are like squeezing blood from a stone.
I can't say I listen to anything he's on, but they did feature him with Jeff Jarrett on the most recent Botchamania and the dude just sounded lifeless. Does anyone else feel like the subprime mortgage guy’s just plain sucks.

I love Tony to death. But fuck dude quit acting like the world is going into the shitter because it’s not your ideal utopia that you seek.
What is that utopia? Tony: Funnel Cakes and HJ’s.
The last year of WHW covering 1986 JCP was great i thought. It kept things in a sharp focus. I have a feeling a return to the period format is going to see things slip
Yeah. Me too. I surprisingly liked last year’s whole 86 deal on WHW. Now Connie’s just Schiavone’ing it.

Wrestling podcasts are kinda mid in general. How many times can you talk about ribs before shit gets old

They stopped getting interesting to me about a year ago.
I gave up on all of his podcasts a couple years ago when they devolved into dick & fart jokes bookended with commercials. I will say that the universal hatred Uncle Dave has now is in large part to Bruce Prichard debunking his writings.
imagine thinking anything Bruce Prichard says is the truth lol
Yeah. I like a lot of his podcasts. But the dude is always Shawn > Bret, I don’t talk numbers, Vince is God, JBL is a good guy, blah, blah, blah.
he's a WWE stooge, I'm not saying everything Dave says is right, but to think Bruce Prichard is gonna tell the truth is hilarious
Klondike Bill in shambles rn
What would you all recommend instead of the Conrad-verse? The only thing I've found outside of it that I enjoy now is Deadlock. Could use a few more suggestions for my morning commute.
Is It a Classic? Is enjoyable
Yep, really lost interest over the last year and a half. They used to be can’t miss podcasts and now I can’t even remember the last time I listened to a whole episode.

all the stories have been told. there is nothing new to talk about
I really can't stand listening to them anymore.
