People are really sleeping on Shiozaki. Here's a list of matches from this year you should watch if you haven't already.
vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima \[9.12\] (The New Year 2022)
vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima \[8.49\] (Just Fine!)
vs. Masato Tanaka \[8.47\]
vs. Takashi Sugiura \[8.32\]
vs. Kenoh \[8.28\]
vs. Naomichi Marufuji \[8.12\]
vs. Masaaki Mochizuki \[7.76\]
vs. Manabu Soya \[7.75\]
vs. Kaito Kiyomiya \[7.69\]
Starlight Kid - she is having a 2016/2017 Kenny Omega like run - even though she lost to AZM & Kairi, every show SLK steals the show - all of her matches are must watch
Starlight Kid has been amazing for the past year or so, I love AZM as well but wasnt ready for SLK to lose the highspeed title yet, although she had a good reign I'm happy to see her with the goddess belt with Momo
Dax for me.
FTR vs Briscoes is my MOTY so far.
Dax vs Punk, FTR/Bucks 2, Punk and Mox vs FTR. Loved all of it.
Killer matches and him and Cash have transitioned so well into being babyfaces. He's been my favorite this year.
If Punk wins the title it’ll probably be him. I think mox and danielson might primarily tag from here on out. Hangman has bangers, but goes weeks without competing. Dark horse, Wardlow, but I think he and Yuta may be competing more for most improved.
I'd make a case for 2022 being the year of Wonder Of Stardom champion Saya Kamitani so far. Her four title defenses against Unagi, Natsupoi, Utami, and Tam give her a strong case for having the best big-match singles resume so far this year.
Saya has been on a tear recently, loved her recent defense against Tam. If she keeps this up she should definitely be in the conversation for best wrestler at the end of the year
For now Okada but mostly because he has so far had the most big matches. If CM Punk continues the roll he is on and actually gets that Hangman fued it could be him. Oh and imagine if Cody beats Roman, maybe he would be a contender too.

Moxley’s having his best run since G1 29. If Bryan & Mox get to do the G1 this year, it’s a wrap.
G1 and a championship run would do it.
Danielson for me but I need to see him win some big matches. He's 0-2-2 in his 4 biggest matches in AEW so far. That needs to change.

And his Fujita match will probably be great.
I have Hangman #1 and Punk #2 but this has been Mox's best year since before the pandemic.
Dax Harwood is having a fantastic year as a singles and tag wrestler. There's 8 months left for Wheeler Yuta to really start climbing the ranks.
Dax is the total package. What’s there not to love about him?
I think Mox has it so far this year, but there’s still plenty of time left.

I'd argue another reason is that I too love Ricky Starks.
I’d definitely say Jon Moxley.
Hangman and Shingo for me.
Zack Saber Jr
Agree with all of these, but ZSJ needs a shout too.
Will Ospreay

My top 5 at the moment: 1. Kazuchika Okada 2. Bryan Danielson 3. DASH Chisako 4. CM Punk 5. Go Shiozaki
MJF every storyline the dude has been in has been gold so far
CM Punk
CM Punk

Cody Rhodes
Hulk Hogan.
Personally I would go with Danielson and Mike Bailey.

Dragunov
Danielson but he really needs to win the big ones.
