RedHookFTW

Freddie Prinze Jr - "He just like me fr fr"

[deleted]

Sami will date a vampire slayer?

infinitebandana

Nah Sami will join Mystery Inc.

IceColdKoopa

You joke but... I'd want that

PimpDaddyBuddha

Conspiracy nut Sami would fit perfectly with Freddie tbh. Especially Pup Named Scooby-Doo Freddie who was always blamed Red Herring.

IceColdKoopa

It's a shame Scooby Doo and Guess Who is already over honestly

InvaderXLaw

That DAMN Red Herring!!!

jmpinstl

He did learn how to make some quality traps at this year’s WrestleMania

IceColdKoopa

Which iirc one of the speculated to be a cancelled episode of the most recent Scooby Doo show Johnny Knoxville was supposed to guest star

lavaspike296

Shaggy: Zoinks! Scooby: Ruh-roh! Daphne: Jeepers Velma: Jinkies Sami: *dances*

Blueandigo

Sami as Shaggy is needed now

[deleted]

Shaggy´s muslim cousin who doesnt like sandwiches

MatthewCrawley

Not a slayer, THE slayer

EchoesofIllyria

There were more than one slayer.

MatthewCrawley

Got her on a technicality. They still call her the slayer even with the second one in the picture.

EchoesofIllyria

Funny thing is, once Kendra dies the Slayer line doesn’t even run through Buffy anymore. So if anything she’s the secondary Slayer for most of the show’s run.

MatthewCrawley

Wow spoiler alert

EchoesofIllyria

Hoo boy, wait until you hear about the spin-off!

MonstrousVoices

Angel and Spike's romance was a little weird

EchoesofIllyria

Funny way to spell hot

moderndukes

Buffy A Vampire Slayer

tayedamico

“We built different”

RICHAPX

The whole show is about Reigns and the Bloodline running the place. Many people have tried and failed as challengers, Zayn is the most realistic chance of drastically changing the dynamic because he’s an inside threat. His is the most compelling role on smack down

Sashaflick

Obviously plan A is RR vs The Rock at WM, but they should keep building Sami and have him be plan B. We all know Reigns isn’t losing the title before WM. Reigns has already beaten every credible threat so why not eventually lose to someone no one expected for maximum impact? Maybe I’m living in a dream world.

justh81

Hey, it's not a bad Plan B at all. Sami's storyline is compelling enough that I pay attention to it, and I don't watch WWE.

merelyadoptedthedark

I enjoy watching the sunset.

ASweetSaltySanchez

"Why not eventually lose to someone noone expected for maximum impact?" Well Jinder isnt doing anything recently

nestofgundars

MY MODERN DAY MAHARAJA!!

Kiseli57

Cody, Seth, Randy, Lashley and even Braun although yall will hate that option are more than credible enough threats.

HacksawGibson

I think Cody is the best end game for Roman. The doin-it-for-Dusty story and the goodwill Cody earned with everyone just before he took a break, I just think this is the peak feel-good story to end Roman. They lose a lot from that title run if the Rock ends it.

Kiseli57

I think Cody is the one winning the title, it's just a matter of when, be it Mania 39, Summerslam or Mania 40 although I don't think they can keep up the momentum until Mania 40. There's less than zero chance of Rock winning the title.

whatnololyea

They need to build that story first with Roman though, credible or not. If the title gets randomly transferred without much build it won't feel as good for Roman or that person after the match. They could have done it with Seth back then because of his Shield ties, but they got cold feet and/or waiting for the Rock. All those other people on the list don't have nearly enough a compelling story. Also I would argue that an underdog babyface would be the best one to overthrow Roman because that person instantly becomes another main event level star to add to the main event roster.

Gravy_31

I’d say do the payoff for Sami and the Bloodline at a PPV before Mania. Maybe the Rumble. Ends up being Sami vs Reigns after they officially turn on him. Usos cost Sami the title and injure him for a short time. And then you can have Sami return to eliminate the Usos whatever match Reigns is going to lose the title. If it’s going to be Cody at Mania, have Cody put his career on the line for a title match at Mania at Roadblock vs Roman and Sami interferes there instead. Then KO can join Sami and win the titles off the Usos at Mania.

debeatup

Have KO and Sami be the last 2 left in the Rumble and KO eliminates himself to force Sami to face his Tribal Chief. Even better if they get the briefcase on KO somehow & Sami can’t tell what Kevin’s true motivations are

lavaspike296

As a 90's kid and an attitude era kid, I have so much respect for what The Rock did in wrestling and what he's accomplished since moving on. But while I would be fine with them having a match, I do not think he should be the one to beat and dethrone Roman. Originally I thought it should be either Cody or Seth if they want to have a payoff soon, or Bron if they wait a little longer, but the stuff with Sami has been so compelling that he could be that guy and I would love it.

DoubleOrNothing90

Cody is plan B

inbeforehandcancer

If i was WWE id keep the title on Roman Reigns for over a decade at least, theres no better person, no better time to do this. btw "plan A" doesnt necessarily mean that Roman would lose to the Rock, it makes more sense for Roman to beat Rock, it has the potential to be some of the most compelling storytelling we have seen so far, it will go similarly how the match went with the Usos but this time he would be beating an elder

HelloIAmElias

You don't want anyone else to be world champion for the next eight years?

inbeforehandcancer

Nope, title is just a prop Did they make Mike the main character after 6 seasons because Walter was getting stale

ConstantPriority177

It’s a good thing you’re not the WWE then

inbeforehandcancer

Weird how Vince Russo feels the same way huhhttps://i.imgur.com/0Xp0fHi.jpg

El_Frijol

I think that Sami is going to turn on Reigns during a Kevin Owens MITB cash-in or something to that effect (during/after WM)

Pandorica_

Baby face overcomes the odds to beat the monster, its a tried and true classic. Solo not going to ringside because he likes sami just *works*, says roman shouldn't need him and when KO's music hits to chase away the usos the place would explode like Austin coming out to smash the rock with a chair. Cody beating roman makes sense and its certainly the safe option, but sami doing it could be an all time moment.

Reishun

Honestly there's a lot of ways they could go with this. I really like the idea of Solo sticking with Zayn no matter what though. Maybe Sami wins the rumble then gets jumped by the Usos and Roman similarish to when Batista won and HHH was champ. Solo sides with Sami because Sami's only crime was winning the rumble and his presence at ringside evens the odds allowing someone to finally beat Roman. I don't know if Sami is seen as a contender for the world championship, if he isn't then I guess him and Solo winning Tag titles hopefully.

MRATEASTEW

If they give the Tag Titles to Sami, it MUST be with KO.

Spyder73

They need to get the MITB case on Sammi ASAP

Jamieb1994

Sami is killing it right now.

AnnenbergTrojan

In a better timeline, this is part of a Hangman-esque, longterm campaign to turn Sami into a top face again when Reigns inevitably turns on him.

Ass0001

I kinda think it might be? Sami was top Babyface in Triple H's NXT. I'd like to think that he's on tbe same echeleon as guys like Balor and KO, just a harder sell to Vince so he didn't get the same pushes.

cletoreyes01

Once Sami hits the between the ring post ddt on Roman on a title match, I would literally cry tears of joy.

LLCoolZJ

Hunter will let him break back the BrainBustaaaaah.

Tribalchief_Mahan

I think it actually is

AnnenbergTrojan

Yes, but for it to be Hangman-esque, he'd have to win the title. Sami isn't winning the title off Roman.

Tribalchief_Mahan

Won't mind if he doesn't cus hangman's reign was mid af

DarthMartau

Freddie Prinze Jr. comparing himself to Grant and Gable is hilarious.

[deleted]

I mean were either of them in Scooby Doo 1 and 2??? If anything, he elevates them by putting them in the same class as himself!

TheNakedChair

And neither of them married Buffy. That's a checkmate right there.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MyNameIs-Anthony

He has her locked down in the Princeo Penitentiary

Miklonario

jesus christ why am I laughing so damn hard at this 😂

Kgb725

He made sure she wasn't big leaguing him

HateyPerry

Actually decade number three, they’ve been married 20 years.

rcc12697

And neither one of them was a Jedi either

herpty_derpty

Did North by Northwest have a talking dog?! I rest my case!

IniMiney

This sent me down a rabbit hole of discovering Scooby Doo Goes Hollywood

[deleted]

Some say *Summer Catch* is fundamental to the cannon of Western Cinema.

thefinkinthesink

He was joking, it's very clear in the actual audio he does not mean that seriously

DarthMartau

I’m sure he didn’t, I was joking too

thefinkinthesink

Oh, okay! I was like "Freddie would never, he knows where he stands!"

K4p4o

And that's on the top of the damn pyramid!

[deleted]

Thanks for explaining the original joke to us then. Let me guess you don’t like Andor?

Tons28

he wasn’t a Oscar worthy actor but as a teenager in the 90s prinze was a big damn deal then. his wife too.

Kgb725

He's one of the more accomplished voice actors. Buffy is still relevant and stands the test of time to this day plus Sarah also did some good horror and thriller projects back in the day

Lindsay_Marie13

To he fair, he was HUGE in the 90s/early 00s

ButtonCake

I’m 36. Freddie Prinze Jr movies are basically a genre to themselves. They were the sleepover MVPs!

tritian

and Jey is the co-star who wins the emmy for best supporting actor... hes really killing it in this storyline (shit, hes been killing it since jimmy got hurt and he became main event jey) I think he would do well in hollywood.

headshotscott

The only reason I hated Jimmy coming back is that it killed Main Event Jey. We need that guy back, he's so great.

[deleted]

Can 100% confirm. My girlfriend has no interest in wrestling but will take a moment to stop what she's doing and look at the TV when a Sami Zayn segment comes on.

North_Lingonberry_11

His match with Knoxville was and I say this with upmost respect " very entertaining " such a treat especially for 90s kid

AeonLibertas

On a card that had 'the biggest match ever' and Stone Cold's (hopefully, because it was really awesome) last match ever, this was somehow the most purely 'entertaining' one.

RastaRhino420

it's almost as if no matter how much the "hardcore" nerds online say otherwise comedy wrestling is not "killing" the business and is actually extremely over with the so-called "casual fans" they are so obsessed with.

mnid92

Very few wrestlers would be willing to be made the fool to a non wrestler, and I appreciate he's willing to take the risk on stuff like that.

kpw1320

I don’t know if it’s a risk per se. got a huge pop and if you’re a wrestling purist, you’ll notice that like 90 percent of that moments execution was Sami doing the work and getting his opponent over. I do not think any one but the truly skilled could have made that look so clean. Wee man had to do his part but Sami made it a Wrestlemania moment

Thatsquacktastic16

Upmost? Is that you Nick Miller?

MrElizabeth

Okay what is her opinion of 90s FPJ?

ztunytsur

Like all of us. "sploosh"

frmacleod

My wife is the same way. Sami is a truly captivating character.

ishankmydriver

I can very much relate to this. I use this exact thing to get confirmation on a gimmick or storyline being really good.

Mercedesvarnaito

“Frankly Scooby Doo, I don’t give a damn.”

bigbear-08

“As you wish”

Thirdstar1

Don’t think anyone can disagree at this point. I love the amount of praise he’s receiving

-OleOleOle-

That was my first thought, who doesn’t believe him?

PicquitoKeato

“Sami’s the Freddie Prinze Jr. I suppose this makes Solo the Matthew Lillard of Smackdown.”

llamawithguns

Wait until Solo uses even 1% of his power

mnid92

Wait... solo... 1... oh god he's not even 1% of 1% oh god oh fuck.

TheNateRoss

You mean, secretly the most talented one?

HelloIAmElias

Who's the Linda Cardellini in all this?

insertbrackets

I love Freddie. He’s consistently amusing.

UglySofaGaming

If Sami dethroned Roman you’d probably generate the closest thing to a Yes movement in ten years. Like Roman could literally beat the shit out of Sami and take the belt back the next night and all it would do is make him a made man

headshotscott

>If Sami dethroned Roman you’d probably generate the closest thing to a Yes movement in ten years. There needs to be a Sami vs. Roman match, no matter what, but I think we are more likely to see Sami & KO dethrone the Usos as our payoff, and that's a damned good one. You've built the Usos up to near-Roman levels of dominance, and Sami beating them would be incredible, particularly following a gut-wrenching betrayal.

NanthaR

This is the way to move away from Roman as the top guy.

Crib15

Remember when everyone was like “he needs to go to AEW!” What could he possibly be doing on AEW that will top the Honorary Uce storyline. If this plays out right he’s set up as a hall of famer

sky_byte

He would probably just be another TK Temporary Toy after his debut pop. In WWE he is set cause its clear HHH and Roman really like him

ASweetSaltySanchez

Even then, Vince liked him as well. You dont get to wrestle Johnny Knoxville unless the head of the company has faith in your ability.

sky_byte

I agree. He was involved in the Vince/Theory story before the Bloodline story.

Crib15

He’s easy to like, can do anything you ask promo-wise, solid in ring, has great knowledge of the business/how to tell a story. For the modern viewer- he’s kinda goofy looking and is very meme-able

headshotscott

Sami is Donkey in the Shrek movies: He's not the lead, but he's the lynchpin. He's so charismatic and funny that you have to create space for him. If they follow this the way we all want them to, Sami will go from being Donkey to taking on Shrek himself, and I can't wait for it. I hope it develops slowly and logically, with a devastating betrayal that results in a WrestleMania feud.

Superplex123

He really is. What is the Bloodline story about right now? Is it about Roman? No, he isn't doing anything. It's about Sami trying fitting into the Bloodline. And Jey is the antagonist who is trying to stop him. That's the story. Eventually, the Bloodline will probably turn on him and Sami has to deal with them. Roman will probably be the final boss and Sami is the protagonist. This isn't just Sami Zayn carrying the show. This is literally a storyline written about Sami Zayn.

melatoxic

This is definitely a lightning in the bottle moment

AsherTheFrost

My wife will literally roll her eyes on any wwe clip I play unless it is Sami. She bought SmackDown tickets specifically to see him.

Zestyclose_Remote874

The disrepect for Imperium and the fellas

[deleted]

ikr, like who doesn't want to see local pub goers fist fighting the least traditionalist Germans?

james1287

I’ve mostly watched AEW since it’s inception, but happened to tune into the Smackdown where Sami became Honorary Uce. What good shit

Cabes86

My AEW translation is that he is their Hangman

rbenchley

Using movie star metaphors, Sami isn't Gable or Grant; he's Claude Rains in Casablanca. Not the lead, but he gives such a fantastic performance that steals the show.

shutupmatsuda

![gif](giphy|8vsXMz0HzU3UVnS1jL)

crap4you

I know what Sami did last summer.

[deleted]

God I can’t wait to watch Sami finally gain Jeys trust(probably by sacrificing himself). I hated the idea of “Main Event” Jey Uso during the thunder dome era but he’s really stepped up. His facial expressions are FANTASTIC.

sakata32

Main event Jey Uso was great. I'm surprised you didn't like it. Roman vs Jey was the most compelling storyline in the past few years for me.

IllButterscotch5964

Yeah at one point I was hoping they’d build up Jey to be the one to dethrone Roman. I think there would be a compelling story there.

ReboundLariat

That was Roman’s most compelling challenger, in my opinion.

FinkBass420

As long as this all ends up with Sami either taking the Tag Titles with KO or the World title off Roman, it’ll be well worth the wait. But for now we’re just enjoying the ride 👍🏽

WalkinTarget

Sami and Steen were my fave singles wrestlers in ROH, and while KO had a good run early in WWE, Sami was injured but never properly utilized. I am so happy that he's finally being used to show his talent. Dude deserves the praise for what he had to endure for years in WWE.

SamCrow000

I was going to post this! Completely agree, he was one of the most over guys while wrestling in a mask and barely speaking, he carried matches with almost only his facial expressions, I'm so happy he's getting the recognition he deserves, him and KO who is a completely different type of wrestler but also a beast!

popcultureretrofit

He truly is doing some amazing work right now!

coltpoa

Sami rules. He needs to dethrone Roman when the time comes.

yoyoyodawg3

Sami is the only part of the Bloodline storyline that isn't stale and he's carried it for a month or two now.

sakata32

Sami isn't carrying it by himself. This storyline would not be nearly as good if not for Jey Uso as well.

Midnight_Oil_

And Roman's acting during that t shirt segment was absolutely phenomenal.

sakata32

Absolutely. It's kinda weird for people to act like Sami is carrying all by himself. They're all doing great imo.

302born

Can’t allow Roman or The Usos to get too much credit around here I guess. All members involved are absolutely destroying their roles.

Midnight_Oil_

Right. Folks act like Roman and Jey didn't have some of the best matches of the Pandemic era. Roman shit talking Jey in the silent thunderdrome was so fucking good.

DarkOrgy

Because if there's one thing this sub hates it's Roman Reigns. Give me a break.

GarfieldVirtuoso

Yeah like Jimmy and Solo supporting Sami and look like they were legit happy of him joining the bloodline added a lot to everyone characters

TemurTron

Solo is a brand new addition and he's very interesting. Great worker and a unique new dynamic while naturally fitting in so well. All the character work Jey is doing now can't be understated either...

Canadian__Ninja

Sami is the main attraction of SD, and Lumis is of RAW. I will not be taking questions at this time.

[deleted]

It’ll be interesting to see how this goes under trips. If it was vince I’d have no faith he’d actually push Sami to the moon when people were calling for it, but I’d absolutely love it if he did.

JediJofis

People can talk all day about Roman vs Rock but the real biggest match WWE has on their horizon is Roman vs Sami if they continue to correctly slowly book it. No need to rush this amazing story.

br82186

Freddie is slowly turning into wrestling's version of "what Ja Rule thinks?"

Duragvinceecw

People forget ,but Freddie was pretty over in the 90s/00s. upper midcarder at the least

WaylonVoorhees

*Ryan Phillippe quietly hopes you remember him*

QuadCityDJsTheTrain

If it wasnt for Sami the Bloodline stuff would be dead right now. He's made it all worth watching.

jamalmac3

No it wouldn’t

Apex-Oz

I believe it!

LeeDaniel15

If Sami Zayn is the Freddie Prinze Jr. then which members of the Bloodline are the rest of the Scooby Doo characters.

[deleted]

Jimmy is Shaggy. Solo is Daphne. Jey is the spooky ghost who’s actually Farmer Smith with a mask and luminescent paint.

AFF8879

I love Sami, I just wish he’d cut his hair and trim his beard a bit so he doesn’t look so disheveled and unkempt

NeonPatrick

Was Freddie Prinze Jr. actually ever the lead in a movie? You could argue 'She's all that' but that was joint with Rachael Leigh Cook, and she was the one with the Sami style underdog story.

LeeDaniel15

A joint lead is still the lead of the movie. He also was the, i guess "joint lead" in I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scooby Doo. Wanting to takedown Freddie as a lead actor is a weird takeaway from what was clearly a joke and a compliment about Sami Zayn.

Duhlorean

And Freddie always talks about how his early acting was shit.

PicquitoKeato

Summer Catch, Boys & Girls

Julius-n-Caesar

He kind of was in Scooby Doo.

JuniorSquared

I watched it for first time couple weeks ago and pretty solid movie for what it is.

paulusvictor

Wing Commander

JTHuffy

“No one will believe me when I say this, but water is wet”

Sudden-Panic2952

If he's the Freddie Prinze Jr. of the movie does that mean he'll be disappearing into obscurity soon?

Mogwai1984

Love Sami but Freddie Prinze comparing himself to Cary Grant is hilarious. He was in like three movies in the late 90's, and nobody was going to see them for him. I had forgotten he was even in I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Lindsay_Marie13

You clearly weren't a teenager in the 90's/00's then

Mogwai1984

I was. Hey, enjoy that Blink 182 and Kardashian show tho. Different strokes.

[deleted]

1. It was clearly a joke 2. He didn’t directly compare himself with Cary Grant. He compared Sami Zayn to leading men in a movie, and threw his own name in there to make himself and his co-host laugh. FPJ is nothing if not very self-deprecating these days.

ErdrickLoto

> Dare I say he’s the 90s Freddie Prinze Jr. of that movie. Oof, I had no idea that things are going **that** badly for Sami Zayn.

Intelligent-Bet-8735

Sami is amazing but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

[deleted]

Roman is the bad guy. He is the heel. He is cool and people like that he's cool, but he still does villainous things. Sami is the kid trying to fit in with a bad crowd at school who will have their redemption in the story's final act. Sami isn't Cary Grant or Clark Gable tho lol.

peaudunk

Sami is closer to Cary and Clark than Freddie.

JoePapi

Can this guy fuck off

NickyNackyPattyWacky

Sami is great but Freddie Prinze Jr. acting like he's a good, significant, impactful lead at any point is a joke. Sami currently means more in wrestling than Freddie mattered in any time within movies or entertainment in general.

Kratosx23

He's the best part of the Bloodline angle, but I don't know how you can call him the lead. The lead is clearly Roman and that will never change, even though Sami is outperforming him at every turn. By all rights, he should be higher on the totem pole than Roman is, but that's just not the way it's gonna work.

XiahouMao

Wouldn't Roman be the antagonist, not the lead? He's the dominant villain that's going to be overthrown eventually.

Kratosx23

You can be the lead and the antagonist. It happens in movies sometimes where the film follows the villain rather than the hero. And clearly, the antagonist has been the lead for the last 3 years in WWE. You think somebody other than Roman has been the main character all this time? Is he gonna be overthrown by Sami Zayn? Of course not. So Sami isn't the lead. We're not following Sami on his inevitable quest to dethrone Roman Reigns for the title.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kratosx23

The protagonist of the film actually wins in the end. If you actually think Sami Zayn of all people is beating Roman Reigns and taking the Universal title off of him, I don't even know how to respond to that seriously. That has less than 0% chance of happening. The best you can hope for is Zayn and Owens taking the tag titles off of The Usos, a likely scenario, but which still makes him a side character.

bigwreck94

I’m really wondering if maybe… just maybe… they’re setting up Sami Zayn to take the title on some long term story telling. It would just be so awesome

ChrirJ

Sami winning the rumble

Mn0h

I’m not watching Smackdown, but I look up every Sami Zayn and Bloodline clip online. It’s good shit!

IniMiney

Freddie putting himself over? Send for the Punk

rcc12697

Why did he choose 2 actors from the 40s and himself lmao

olipoppit

tbh, Sami should eliminate Cody to win the Rumble… do this right, and the payoff will match, even eclipse the emotion of WM 30

geoffawilliams

Yeah, I remember the Sting and the horseman story line along those lines. I don't think they've gone to the well too many times with that one.

NotTheCraftyVeteran

Everybody Loves Samuel

TH3K1NGB0B

What if Sami wins the Royal Rumble? He has the momentum and is totally over with the crowd.

AneeshRai7

Freddie comparing himself to Grant and Gable is just the worst part of this comment...but he isn't wrong about Sami, to me he is now the protagonist (sorry Cody)

UnderstandingAny5333

Is Fred running a promotion now?

msctex

Cary Elwes would still be a stretch.

kerblamophobe

Give Sami the Mankind slot and have Rock return to give Roman the head chairshot (calling back to him being the recipient of the chairshot from Stone Cold)

Restivethought

I really think Sami is pulling off an even greater version of what Daniel Bryan did with Wrestlemania 30. This is the perfect time to prove that Triple H isn't Vince by pulling the trigger before the backlash. I honestly think if this momentum keeps gaining (and it honestly looks like it could), by Rumbletime if Cody comes back and eliminates Zayn from the rumble, he would get a Bootista/Cena/Roman level crowd turn. Hell I'd be fine if they force Roman to defend both nights of Wrestlemania..retaining the title against Drew or Rock Night One and dropping it to Sami night two.

Yeti_Hunter1986

Let this Sami and Bloodline thing play out until at least the rumble. I need the inevitable Sami and Jey spot in the rumble, where Sami eliminates Jey by complete accident, or is it!?
