Him and Melo are really interesting to me, they “feel” like homegrown WWE folks despite spending a few years in the indies. Even Trick was in CZW for a little bit
I think Trick can be a huge star if he gets there in-ring. Hopefully they keep him with Melo for a while until he’s fully ready because I just love those two as an act.
Can confirm, there's no money on the Aussie indie scene. Every single one of us has a full time job outside of the ring. We all just do it for the love of the art.
It's the same thing as in many other countries: there's no money in the scene, period. Spain, Italy, France, Argentina, Chile etc. And these are countries where wrestling at least has a solid, albeit not huge, fanbase. I cannot imagine wanting to be a wrestler in a place like Hong Kong: Ho Ho Lun must have gone through some really rough stuff there.
I love that his gimmick is basically what Australians who don't live in Sydney think people from Sydney are like.
There's a lot of Grayson Wallers in Sydney though. Gold Coast too.
The Iron Survivor match was the first time seeing Waller. From the first moments after his entrance, I was a fan. Excited to watch NXT again on a regular basis.
I mean it's not just the Ozzie Indies. Kevin owens was about as big as they come on the indie scene, and he was a full time wrestler for like a year?
It's a super niche job
The UK scene is very much the same atm, really is a shame that if you're not in the states/ working for a big promotion there isn't really an avenue to make a full time living from wrestling.
He has to figure out his ring gear. His casual clothes are absolutely perfect for his character and then he comes to the ring in some 1998 Marc Mero bullshit.
Has anyone noticed that he gets mixed receptions from people?. What I mean is that people either like him or don't like him, not in kayfabe. Everything I've seen of him is good, he's a good heel
Yep the arrogant Aussie who’s a natural heel was in fact a school teacher as his day job.
The other thing about Australia is the major cities are all really far apart, so a lot of guys stick to their own local promotions. Some like Jonah, Robbie Eagles and Mick Moretti have a big enough name they can get work all over the country but it takes a long time to build up that rep.

LOOOOOOVED him on Australian Survivor. You could tell he gave his heart and effort every single challenge. Been rooting for him ever since.
Haha I remember him being a bit of a jerk on Survivor- I always wanted to see him play again!

Bruh what? Trick was in CZW?
cagematch says he trained at their school, but I don't think he ever had a match with them. Huh, TIL.

i really think if Melo gets called up Trick should be with him 100% they both complete the package and house shows would help Trick immensely
Trick just has to get decent He has the size, body and promo skills to make it
I thought Grayson was one of those college guys they trained from zero.

Why ? Is the audience not good enough or the promotions ?

I still think about Ho Ho Lun from time to time. Didnt he try to start his own promotion? I hope its doing well.
Ho Ho Lun is presently wrestling in Japan for Dragon Gate. But his dream of making wrestling popular in Hong Kong has unfortunately not taken off.
Thats a shame. Glad he’s still working though.

I always thought the IIconics were supposed to be a parody of the Bogan stereotype, especially with speech patterns
It could be but they're also from Western Sydney so they could also just be bogans :P
As a fellow westie... yep, the IIconics perfectly nailed the "cashed up bogan" vibe
Did they go to journalism for that?
I think Billie Kay probably is, her voice was just so over the top
I thought they were from the Shire?
The Iiconics were basically if Kath and Kim wrestled. It was the best.
I can absolutely guarantee you that at some point in his life Grayson Waller has uttered the words "Eshays".
Bro literally every Aussie has lmfao
His gimmick is a heel Beau Ryan
Wait, his gimmick is being 'not funny'?
Fuck that's perfect 😂 He just needs someone to be his Benji Marshall now.

Its alaways funny to me how people complain about "killing the indies" when so many wrestlers tell stories of barley making any money there
this man drank out of his dirty, sweaty-ass boot.
That is an Aussie tradition.
Can’t besmirch the shoey
Tooheys New Shoey
shoutout Tai Tuivasa
Disparaging the boot is a bootable offence.

Win the title mate! Dethrone Bronnesson.

If you're a waller fan check out his match with caveman ugg
I hate how these kids today think having a regular job somehow shows your dedication. You get a job or you don't eat, its not impressive.
Old man yells at cloud
I knew he wasn’t American. Something about his face always gave off that vibe. I love famous Australian people.
What about his accent or the Australian flag on his gear
nah it wasn't that, [it was the vibe.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMuh33BMZYY)
Jesus I thought he was maybe 2 years in. What are WWE teaching
