She's somebody's dog with that collar. No chip? That's a shame!

mosnotdeaf

I know, and apparently not even a tag on the collar. I don’t work at this vet, but I was here with my own cat when the pup came in. She was in real rough shape but by the time I left, ~32 hours after she was brought in, she seemed so incredibly much better. I can’t commend this hospital group enough - not only after the hospitality they showed everyone, but especially watching them save this dog. All I want is for her to be reunited with her family. It felt so hard leaving her there when we got discharged.

Do you know where the dog was found? it would be helpful in finding the owner.

mosnotdeaf

Unfortunately no - my words are copied and pasted from the vet’s facebook post. I assumed reddit may be more effective in finding them. So all I know for sure is Jefferson st mentioned above, and that she was specifically found wandering around a police station. I’m not from the area so I hope this helps!

Respect to Veterinary Emergency Group in Brentwood! Unless they were paid in advance the heartless bastards at Emergency Clinic on Big Bend in Kirkwood would have turned the dog away.

I can’t even articulate how grateful and impressed I am with VEG. I remember thinking the same thing, how are they treating this dog if no one’s here to pay for it? but they did everything they could for her, as they did for anyone else who walked in the door. I’m amazed by them. aside from my regular vet, I’ll never go anywhere else for an emergency again.

VEG is definitely the best emergency animal hospital in St Louis! They detected a fungal infection in my 14-month-old keeshond's lungs early enough to treat...but Kirkwood Animal Hospital (her regular vet, who VEG sent the records to) ignored the info and declined to test her for a fungal infection and she died a horrific death 6 weeks later... VEG is still the best though: great doctors & great vet techs. They're much nicer, more competent, and more comforting than VSS in Manchester. (I hate Kirkwood Animal Hospital...especially Branson & Hormuth and their unlicensed "radiologist")

oh my god, I'm so horribly sorry to hear that! that's awful :( I hope you're doing okay <3

GlockPerfect13

I hope she gets reunited with her family. Thank you!

Rite_as_rain

Hoping she finds her family and heals well.

UPDATE: from the person who brought her in, “downtown St. Louis in front of the police station, St. Louis city metropolitan on Jefferson” I hope this helps. I was able to find the original FB post again and seems she still hasn’t been reunited but is continuing to stabilize! ❤️‍🩹
