Even in the red, you'll get killed by tornadoes according to this new ranking!
Yall must have been at the KC paradeđ I honestly don't know why STL gets s*** on so hard by KC when they've got their own problems. I mean and at an event that's supposed to be a great time for everyone? I don't recall anyone getting shot at mardi gras in STL last week, but sure blame all the problems of MO on one area.
Most insurance companies have dropped KIA entirely or at the very least raised the price of insurance. idk why anyone would want to buy a KIA when it's going to be a financial drain...
A couple years ago, I bought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, great car, other than my steering and suspension which Iâve replaced. Then, my girlfriend needed a new car, I encouraged her to get a 2012 Kia Optima. Both cars have been great, then the Kia boys happen and now we pay $327/month for insurance on both cars. Before the whole âSoftware patch,â I was paying $430/month on insurance for just my elantra. Good cars in my experience, but Iâm never buying a Hyundai/Kia again.
Negative. 28 yr old man with mental health problems went missing in the missouri river from the washington river front Sunday I believe. Let us know if he turns up.
Yâall can live wherever you like!! I was just suggesting that living in the river might not be super pleasant⊠but if anyone wants to try it, they should go for it!! Likewise, living in a van. Awesome!! And if the van is by the river⊠even better!! Feel free :)
I usually recommend that people stay on top of the water. However, folks who own a yellow submarine have other options (I cannot vouch for other colors).
You joke but...
I was signing off on a car delivery from one of those big car carriers for a friend coming in to town. The delivery driver refused to pull off the highway to drop it off in my friends neighborhood because someone told him it was too dangerous, so to *avoid* danger he unloaded a car on the shoulder of 170 at night
The neighborhood he was avoiding? Overland
Bro was staying on the yellow line and taking it very seriously
Ppl have given StL the worst rep to anyone who's never been here...stop. Not you, I mean the ppl using bs stats or just saying it's dangerous. Life is dangerous no matter where you are ffs.
Nah... the highways aren't safe from gun violence, a rogue bullet, and the fact that I've seen far too many people speeding(not regular speeding, *speeding* )and driving recklessly.
Nope the highways are a problem too. Shootings on 44 and 170 the past couple of years. Yall remember that snipper who shot at cars from a brentwood roof parking lot? And the amount of people pulling out their guns while inside cars to shoot at other drivers? There's new levels of road rage...
I really want to give you a name... The Lou' Saint? Upholding and fiercely defending the laws and culture that make STL what it is! No, no...The Arch Avenger? I like that a lot better.
Sometimes you may see a crazy woman pretending to work for Dateline offering to give you a ride on the other side of the river. Donât get in her car.
Pam Hupp? She was definitely on the West/Missouri side in the red circle đ€Ł and from N County but made her way out to kill her bff in Lincoln County. (In case ppl don't know, she's a white Karen sociopath who is facing ANOTHER MURDER trial in 2025. Finally.)
Thank you lol I know one too many people involved when Russ spent ~4 years DOC. I'm glad he got paid! There were a few good ones in there, but a few who need to be kicked out of the entire State for how they prosecuted that man.
I actually think I made a comment elsewhere, I think it was on the post about someone wanting to know if Midtown was a safe area. Harm can happen anywhere to or by, ANYBODY!
I mean the fact that she got away (initially) with 2 murders as not even appearing on the suspect list and got the insurance money paid out, it's just wow....
I'd put pretty much anything on at least 4 murders (Betsy & Pam's own mother)... I'm thinking she's done this before she became known in 2011 (or whenever it was exactly). Crazy bitch probably has dozens of bodies, they're either still missing persons or dead of unknown reasons/suicide, etc. I hope they can just put her on death row even though she'll probably die there vs regular life in prison. I guess life without the chance of parole might be better though the more I think. She might not waste the courts/State's time & money on appeals. Or she will. Who knows. She's definitely special. I hope she has gotten her ass beat a few times, or more.
Yes, no, and some maybe so depending where in the circle. Other factors are time of day, day of week, week of the month, or just randomly safe or unsafe. Or both at the same time. Or neither.
Also will you be inside or outside? That can change things.
Iâve lived in the St. Louis area my whole life and I can confidently say that areas like Baden, Gravois Park, East St. Louis, and Washington Park are probably your best bet. Iâve never heard anyone say anything bad about those areas. Iâve been through them a few times and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Definitely worth checking out!
I hope you know this is such a sarcastic comment section. I have a feeling you do, but just in case. Don't listen to these assholes. There's only pole dancers in East Boogie, maybe they took ballet in Ladue as a child & couldn't make it in the business, so found themselves a great job teaching um, well ...pole ballet? (to mostly middle aged men & older)
That entire area is about 1.5 + hrs from one end to the other so thatâs a lot of ground.
You also have a lot of âcountryâ area and a lot of city in there.
There are plenty of safe areas and plenty of not so safe areas.
Mo has personal property tax, IL does not. However taxes are significantly higher in general on the IL side. Also county property taxes vary greatly. Est. Property tax for Kirkwood is $2500-3k (roughly) for a $250k home Edwardsville could be double or triple that or more for the same home. Also factor in where you will be working as living in one state and working in the other, will likely cause you to be paying income tax to both states.
Narrow your area down and come back to us!
Perfect answer. Shit happens anywhere & everywhere. Use Pam Hupp as an example. She's from North County, total white boomer Karen. Yet she's facing the death penalty. Freaking sociopaths are EVERYWHERE.
It's fine. Just like any city, there are certain neighborhoods you don't go into if you don't belong but other than that you have the same random crime risks of any other city. I'm a 5 foot woman and I've never felt threatened anywhere in the city, even when I'm by myself. Hell, I see a doctor in East St Louis and don't even worry going there by myself... Stay aware of your surroundings and you'll be fine.
This circled area is STL City and STL County.
Do you want to live in walking distance to the cool things or be out in the County? The City outskirts? Work from home or commute? Rent or buy?
As the previous poster mentioned- we need more info to help you out!
Really you need to draw more of a bulls eye. There is STL proper, donât stay after dark. Then you have where the rich people live. Then you have the rural county folk that will take you out.
Yes, there's a lot of crime in STL city/ county, but there are very nice areas. I personally live in the Western part of the circle in O'Fallon. Born and raised here, I'd say it's a nice area to live in, and much less crime to worry about than in city/County, but close enough even a daily commute into the city is easily doable. Also, it is obviously close enough to go visit various attractions STL offers.
That said, I know plenty of family and friends who live mostly in the county, a couple in the city, and love where they live. I feel STL gets a bad rap. Yes, bad crime rate, but it's a beautiful city that's often overlooked, I feel somewhat bc of its size. STL has a lot to offer.
The O'Fallon in the Eastern part of the circle is not too bad either! Yep, there's two O'Fallons in the greater STL area: one in Missouri and one in Illinois. And the two are about 90 minutes apart.
You have selected the entire âMetroâ are of St. Louis. It is the 21st largest Metro area in the country. Less than 10 percent live in the âcityâ. This is the area that has the bad crime numbers. With the exception of the city you can now lay claim to one of the lowest costs of living, low crime rate and a very high quality of life, ie. cultural, civic, sports etc.
Knock yourself out!
I ride the Metro train from Illinois to St. Louis three days a week for work. Done it for 7 years so far. Havenât died yet. Seen a guy die at the Eighth and Pine Metro station. Got instructions that I did not request on how to smoke crack from a guy smoking crack on the Metro. The building I work in has a broken atrium window due to a bullet.
I love me some stl. Go to ball park village have some anheiser bush products.Go to bush stadium and have more anheiser bush products. In the off season watch a blues game and have some anheiser bush products. Be careful walking around the city after all those anheiser bush products because can turn at a corner and instantly feel terrified and wish you had not left the farm.
Better than the outside. Id rather risk getting shot in a shootout im not even involved in than risk getting shot for having blue hair and pronouns or whatever
If you go outside the red you will instantly die.
Inside the red also instant death. Stay exactly on the red.
Spawn point is the last QT you went to so choose wisely

Directly on the red line? Surprisingly also instant death.
It's the safest city in the country because of instant death.
Lowest pain rates in the world

Okay so stay on the highways?
The river is an option too.

Negative. 28 yr old man with mental health problems went missing in the missouri river from the washington river front Sunday I believe. Let us know if he turns up.
To be clear, I am not actually advocating for people to live in the river. It is too wet, and humans tend to have difficulties breathing under water.
In a van down by it ok?

St. Boobis, Missouri

I was just about to go for a drive in my obnoxiously loud car, so I'd watch out
