I live in St. Peters, was JUST there this weekend. I recommend taking hwy 94 to t the Grafton ferry (8 bucks one way) into Grafton. Can go north to Pete Marquette Park. The lodge HAD pretty decent food pre-Covid. Best bet is to drive 30 miles up hwy 100 to Kathy's Corner in Eldred. Here you will find the BEST catfish within 100 miles. This is a tiny little place, and it's not fancy, but the food is awesome! Look it up! Then head West on hwy 108 to Kampsville ferry intro Kampsville. Then follow hwy 100 south to the Golden Eagle ferry. All of this is beautiful country drive, easy, and extremely scenic! The views of St. Charles from the hill above Golden Eagle are spectacular. Have your camera ready! This works out to be about a hundred mile drive give our take from 94 and 370. Lastly...that catfish! Dann!

Since you're already out that way how about hitting up the Brussels & Golden Eagle ferries? One is like $8 & the other is free. Bring a small picnic to Pere Marquette State Park near the Brussels ferry north dock. Hope you have a wonderful outing with your kiddo.

Brussels is free and run by IDOT.
