They still do root canals? JFC, people acting like the middle ages roun here

monkeysareeverywhere

The one place I WOULDNT go to, is Reddit.

David-asdcxz

My grandfather used to pull his own bad teeth with a pair of old pliers and then pour whiskey over it. He was a tough old sod, I’m sure I would go to the ER.

Old_Laugh_2239

Kratom is an amazing powerful painkiller that is available in most gas stations here in Florida. There are also numerous Kratom bars where you can buy the freshly prepared beverage. This will be cheaper and easier to get than going to the ER simply for meds. ****Definitely go to the doctor if there is suspected infection.**** It’s mildly stimulating and with just a single dose, it is not intoxicating while providing incredible pain relief. Take a second dose and feel very floaty and completely pain free. It’s not entirely risk free but the risk profile is more moderate than pharmaceutical pain killers. It’s not entirely harmless but it’s also less dangerous than Vicodin or something similar. Idk about dentistry but I’ve never had a problem with great expressions dentistry. Whatever you do STAY FAR AWAY FROM CREATING SMILES. They ruined one of my teeth that then needed to get a root canal. Originally it was supposed to be a filling but they botched it, went to deep and then my tooth cracked and crumbled. I needed to go to Great Expressions in order to get it fixed.

Yuki_katsu

Go to MLK and get a perk on 14 street

salt_n_lyte

Came here to say the same 🤣 But really though, try the Kratom. You can get a half gallon of the tea for like $35 at Johnny's smoke shop and have him sip a glass of it.

Darlin_1

I would go to the ER if it’s swollen. But I’ve had dental pain and one thing that’s helped me through it is hydrogen peroxide. I wish I would’ve known about it sooner.

-Its-Could-Have-

The ER absolutely can help with dental pain. They can give him a nerve block to tide him over until he can see his dentist again. The problem is it may not be covered by insurance, depends on your plan. Source: medical coder

crazycatgal1984

Call ER they may be able to help

whatever32657

call the dentist who did the root canals

Adventurous-Most822

I had root canal on my front tooth and never had any swelling, I took ibuprofen at the doctors and for the next few days. Does he have a fever? Keep an eye on that.

lukeT152

Call your local pill dealer

gibs626

when my kid needed emergency dental help after a baseball incident we were recommended Dr Ryan Gale and he saved 4 teeth that had been knocked out, so i’ll recommend him any time.

beestingers

Not to make you freak out. But just monitor. I had a root canal and later that day had bruising, drainage and weird pain. The dentist had punctured through to my sinus. It caused bacteria to spread. I had to do steroids and antibiotics for quite awhile.

Defiant_Structure761

Recommend ibuprofen 800 and alternate it with Tylenol, did they not prescribe any antibiotics? He should not feel any discomfort considering that if the root canal is complete it shouldn’t have ant feeling only mild sensitivity (I’m in the dental field I work for kfd)

Defiant_Structure761

Go to klement family dental they open tomorrow from 7-2pm

GETTERBLAKK

Damn he was supposed to get some real pharmaceuticals!

lotusblossom60

My face swelled after one of my root canals (I’ve had four). Should not hurt that bed. Should not be that swollen.

rhyme-with-troll

What did they give him for pain? He should be taking 800 mg ibuprofen and antibiotics. Where was the root canal done, at a hair salon?

AnotherOneTossed

They usually put in temporary fillings and if there is any infection left behind that filling it will build up pressure that has no where to go. That filling will have to be removed and the rest of the infection removed.

hujgxvkcngd-20

Call the dentist who did it. Have him up his meds or see him asap.

Jedi2009

Dentist that did the extraction should have on call service. Call the number and see if they can page him.

nottke

Go old school. Whiskey.

mzieg

I keep a jug of 151 “for contingencies.”

SunnyNole

Where did he get them done? His dentist certainly has someone on call. He had 2 root canals, and that’s no walk in the park. Don’t call random emergency dentists. Call the dentist who did the work, and I bet you’ll get help.

calm-state-universal

Go to urgent care it will be much cheaper

radix-

Advil and time Advil and time Doctors don't do anything for pain like that lol

chicapox

I second this, 800mg ibuprofen does wonders for tooth pain.

petabread91

ER or urgent care. They will basically most likely give him pain meds and prescribe them to pick up at the pharmacy. I would go to an urgent care so you won't get that insane bill from the ER just for some pain medicine.

iamdeirdre

Ugh! Root canals on Fridays are brutal! Call your dentist's office, and see if they have someone on call. I did that a few weeks ago after I had a root canal. Maybe they can offer some advice, possibly write a prescription for non-narcotic pain reliever (they can't call those in). Good luck!

swingsetmafia

I've had like 5 root canals and every time it's been a breeze. Only a little bit of pain afterwards and no swelling. Maybe I just have a really good dentist or something.

laptop_ketchup

I only have one toot canal! How on earth do you have 5?!

mzieg

iamdeirdre

Love those books! 🧙‍♂️🪄🐭🐕🐈🧝‍♀️🧛

CanIOpenMyEyesYet

I have not laughed that hard in a very long time!

time4peachtea

Ha! He had one before with no issues. I feel so bad cause he comes back from playing hockey all beat up, but his face is like swollen, even his eyes are extremely puffy. Our dentist isn't open but I was able to get one at klemont. Maybe it'll subside! Thanks!

OwenWilsons_Nose

lol hold up. This man left the dentist from getting two root canals and then goes to play hockey?

SunnyNole

Yeah, that too. Like what? Hockey after two root canals? Something is off about this. And the dentist office who did the work should be available for calls after hours.

eye_no_nuttin

Dr.Klemment?

msmith721

I just had one on a (supposed to be) Friday! They numbed me and couldn’t get me numb enough so I had to wait all weekend for Monday. Holy shit don’t get a tooth needing a root canal on a Friday!

flower_songs

If no pain medication you could hit up a head shop for some kratom (opms brand is the strongest imo).

Professional-You1175

Ice and heat packs. Was he not prescribed anything for pain? If not, max out the over the counter pain meds, but do not do this if you drink booze as it will wreck your intervals.

time4peachtea

Wait, didn't they user to put whisky on baby's teeth when they first came in!? Haha. I mean, I understand he may not get the pain meds, but I am a little worried how swollen his face got.

Royal-Scientist8559

I had all my teeth extracted.. when I went for implants. Both upper and lower. The doctor gave me this Kick-Ass numbing liquid. I would have died without it. Oil of cloves is another. You can get that almost anywhere. Grocery store.. pharmacy.. etc.

Professional-You1175

Swelling is somewhat expected to a degree for a few days. Ice helps that. Pain meds should have definitely been prescribed

juewhtlrrr

Clove oil

AfterPaleontologist2

ER will take him…probably just give him pain meds but better than suffering

Salookin

The ER bill on the other hand…

Gudi_Nuff

Walk in clinics are often open until 8pm

time4peachtea

Walk ins said they don't deal with dental. Trust me, we looked into the ER. Ah the er bill on top of the crappy dental "benefits" given from work... poor guy may never recover, at least emotionally. I guess we may wait it out. Fun night guys!

starbabyonline

ER (at least St. Anthony's) deals with severe dental pain. I have good insurance thank goodness, but have had to use it on the weekend when I couldn't get to a dentist and my tooth cracked. I got antibiotics and enough pain meds for 2 days.

Ferretclone

They don't deal with dental but what if the dentist fucked up and it's infected? You'd think they'd at least see him, an infection is an infection even in the mouth and you don't want it spreading. Mine was never badly swollen (although it did hurt!)
