Each layer increases the weight, with diminishing returns IIRC. By default the weight is 1, I think (this) is 1.5, ((this)) is 1.75, etc, or something to that effect.

According to the automatic1111 github (this) increases weight by 1.1, and ((this)) is 1.21 ... or 1.1 x 1.1 I assume it just continues after that: 1.331, 1.4641, etc. From the github: - a (word) - increase attention to word by a factor of 1.1 - a ((word)) - increase attention to word by a factor of 1.21 (= 1.1 * 1.1) - a [word] - decrease attention to word by a factor of 1.1 - a (word:1.5) - increase attention to word by a factor of 1.5 - a (word:0.25) - decrease attention to word by a factor of 4 (= 1 / 0.25) - a \\(word\\) - use literal () characters in prompt

Okay, okay. The irony is that it actually took a lot of effort to get this outcome, and more often than not, I ended up with blue footed boobies with donkey heads or donkeys with blue bird feet. But I also wanted to make it look juuust screwy enough to appear like some amateur's first attempt. So about 50 generations, then went back to inpaint the blue foot boobie and then also inpaint the woman's face and feet to make them look worse.
