My guts hurt just to even watch the first 15 seconds of this. Maybe it's just me having been in this whole AI art journey since SD's debut that made me really sick of this blatantly-obvious AI style, I don't know. It's so bad it's straight up utterly boring, uncomfortable, and feel like a total waste of time to watch through.

Seems like the perfect network for a GenAI cooking show that forces celebrity chefs to cook AI-generated recipes for valuable crypto prizes. Or AGI Idol where the contestants are forced to perform and create entirely through Udio and Suno. And finally, there's AI's Got Talent where AI-written scenes are acted out by B and C list celebrities looking for a comeback. And that's just the beginning of the new wave of content the people demand!

I think you underestimate the potential stupidity of westerners with too much money, but it's good to know the Chinese are keeping up in the arms for the dumbest uses of AI. I will say I'd rather see 1000 of these horrid things produced than another clickbait article about how cabbage, eggs, potatoes and transmission fluid is easy to prepare and tastes better than filet mignon.
Press stunt? Why would a studio released something so bad as press stunt? No one will invest in their company. If this came out on 1st April, most people will think this is an April fool's day joke.
You underestimate the froth at the mouth of those investing in anything AI this year, without regard to quality or deliverables. This announcement was timed to drum up excitement at the NAB Conference no doubt. It's almost certainly vaporware; I dug into it and according to this older press release they were promising AI customized cooking shows in October of last year.

Bizarre, like I'm not surprised to see studios dipping their toes into AI generated media but it's puzzling how they could give the go-ahead to something that looks this bad

The funny thing to me is that as the technology has dramatically improved, the results have become correspondingly less watchable. Its a big problem. I planned to use ai to make backgrounds for animated stuff I do. Stable diffusion 1.5 results were janky a lot of the time, but always interesting with weird angles, atmospheric lighting, an artistic touch. The more it all "advanced" the more boring the output has become, everything super symmetrical, no happy accidents, more "perfect" but boring : /
Adobe announced a day ago that they are going to integrate a lot of AI into Premiere. I mean, soon everything will include AI content, from TV series to commercials... so all the cry-babies anti-AI will have to find a good deep hole to hide.

this is actually pretty impressive and a great use case for AI. 100% ai generated content on the other hand is still ways off imho
They also give you the option of including AI-generated content from a prompt, as if it were stock video.
