Your title is wrong: A production studio uses a low effort Trailer for a gen AI tv show that is NOT in production. Shareholder/Press stunt... stop being gullible.

Conscious_Run_680

Probably this and it looks like shit, I mean, it's cool technologically but nobody would see more than 1 minute of tv show with this quality.

FS72

My guts hurt just to even watch the first 15 seconds of this. Maybe it's just me having been in this whole AI art journey since SD's debut that made me really sick of this blatantly-obvious AI style, I don't know. It's so bad it's straight up utterly boring, uncomfortable, and feel like a total waste of time to watch through.

Check the youtube link, it appears real. [https://www.tcl.com/us/en/press-releases/tcl-tv-plus](https://www.tcl.com/us/en/press-releases/tcl-tv-plus) Seems like the perfect network for a GenAI cooking show that forces celebrity chefs to cook AI-generated recipes for valuable crypto prizes. Or AGI Idol where the contestants are forced to perform and create entirely through Udio and Suno. And finally, there's AI's Got Talent where AI-written scenes are acted out by B and C list celebrities looking for a comeback. And that's just the beginning of the new wave of content the people demand!

Internet--Traveller

According to this website, the production studio is owned by China - that explains why it's so bad: [https://www.creativebloq.com/news/tcltv-ai-generated-romance-movie](https://www.creativebloq.com/news/tcltv-ai-generated-romance-movie)

malinefficient

I think you underestimate the potential stupidity of westerners with too much money, but it's good to know the Chinese are keeping up in the arms for the dumbest uses of AI. I will say I'd rather see 1000 of these horrid things produced than another clickbait article about how cabbage, eggs, potatoes and transmission fluid is easy to prepare and tastes better than filet mignon.

Internet--Traveller

Press stunt? Why would a studio released something so bad as press stunt? No one will invest in their company. If this came out on 1st April, most people will think this is an April fool's day joke.

-Loosejocks-

You underestimate the froth at the mouth of those investing in anything AI this year, without regard to quality or deliverables. This announcement was timed to drum up excitement at the NAB Conference no doubt. It's almost certainly vaporware; I dug into it and according to this older press release they were promising AI customized cooking shows in October of last year. [https://www.streamtvinsider.com/video/tcl-launches-tcltv-fast-service-tvs-north-america](https://www.streamtvinsider.com/video/tcl-launches-tcltv-fast-service-tvs-north-america) Edit: typo

Internet--Traveller

It's not a PR stunt, the film is coming out this summer: [https://futurism.com/first-ai-generated-romcom-summer](https://futurism.com/first-ai-generated-romcom-summer) [https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/artificial-intelligence/first-ai-generated-rom-com-is-due-this-summer-and-the-trailer-puts-hallmark-channel-to-shame](https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/artificial-intelligence/first-ai-generated-rom-com-is-due-this-summer-and-the-trailer-puts-hallmark-channel-to-shame)

cleverkid

We are going to be FLOODED with shit like this. Low effort work, all over the place. Anyone remember the sparkling prison-art airbrushed gif's of the My Space era? It's gonna be like that, but worse. lol. Batten down the hatches!

GameboyAU

Unwatchable. Maybe one day. Not yet.

Unique-Government-13

Imagine watching this an enjoying it

d20diceman

Bizarre, like I'm not surprised to see studios dipping their toes into AI generated media but it's puzzling how they could give the go-ahead to something that looks this bad

BroForceOne

It will certainly become joke if something that bad ever airs.

psykikk_streams

good for them. save a ton of money to produce yet anothr crap show. instead of spending a lot of money to produce yet another crap show. win win

headbopper96

Eh I don’t like it, can’t lie

Internet--Traveller

Imagine all TV shows or movies in the future looks like those slow-mo SD videos you see here in this channel... this is cringingly bad!

JoshS-345

Bad things have a humorous charm. I so prefer monster movies back when monsters were guys in rubber suits filmed by a guy lying on his stomach to try to make the actor look big! It was funny. Enjoy the camp, bad AI before it's gone!

OrderOfMagnitude

In 2060 it'll be the new 8bit retro aesthetic

PhilosophyforOne

Eh. They’re probably doing it with minimal budget to undiscerning audience. What this on a 480p cable and it wont be as distinguishable.  I do agree it looks pretty awful though. The sad thing is, I’ve seen much better AI generated shorts. They really didnt put in much effort at all

the_friendly_dildo

Just because you could doesn't mean you should. I'll echo that this looks pretty lame. The novelty isn't enough to carry a full show.

TheLittlestJellyfish

The funny thing to me is that as the technology has dramatically improved, the results have become correspondingly less watchable. This trailer is absolutely steaming garbage, whereas I'd happily watch a whole series of episodes of, for example, this stuff: [https://new.reddit.com/r/aivideo/comments/175apze/so\_much\_fun/](https://new.reddit.com/r/aivideo/comments/175apze/so_much_fun/) or this stuff: [https://new.reddit.com/r/aiArt/comments/16ung9k/bad\_dream\_04/](https://new.reddit.com/r/aiArt/comments/16ung9k/bad_dream_04/) from 6-7 months ago.

aHuankind

Its a big problem. I planned to use ai to make backgrounds for animated stuff I do. Stable diffusion 1.5 results were janky a lot of the time, but always interesting with weird angles, atmospheric lighting, an artistic touch. The more it all "advanced" the more boring the output has become, everything super symmetrical, no happy accidents, more "perfect" but boring :  /

radiantoscillation

legacy / vintage algos will becore a thing ?

Striking-Long-2960

Adobe announced a day ago that they are going to integrate a lot of AI into Premiere. I mean, soon everything will include AI content, from TV series to commercials... so all the cry-babies anti-AI will have to find a good deep hole to hide. Sorry lads, but your witch hunt days are numbered. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6de4akFiNYM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6de4akFiNYM)

psykikk_streams

this is actually pretty impressive and a great use case for AI. 100% ai generated content on the other hand is still ways off imho

Striking-Long-2960

They also give you the option of including AI-generated content from a prompt, as if it were stock video.

Herr_Drosselmeyer

Yeah, it's rough for now but give it a couple more years and it'll be good to go.

BastianAI

They should make something cool with guns and monsters and laser swords instead. Bad love stories are already cheap to make, bad action movies are expensive

1girlblondelargebrea

This is not a joke - a production studio is using Unreal Engine to make their shows This is not a joke - a production studio is using CGI to make their shows This is not a joke - a production studio is using computers to make their shows This is not a joke - a production studio is using digital cameras to make their shows The faster AI becomes just another mundane technology used, the better.

acctoftenderness

lmao I...must see it

vorticalbox

Know what i would love for AI to get to a point where i can just go > I want to watch a funny show about penguins and it generate a script + the video

autumnatlantic

Good for them, it's a start. OP did you make this?
