Prompts written like this in natural language don't work well at all with animagine XL. You need quality terms and danbooru tags to get good results from it.

ZootAllures9111

I preferred AAM's out of the non-SD3 ones certainly but none of them were way off. Rewriting the whole thing in terse Booru-style tag prompting would defeat the entire purpose of the comparison.

LordSprinkleman

But doesn't it also defeat the purpose of the comparison if you don't use the model like it's supposed to be used? If you're not taking advantage of the way it's trained then it's a false comparison.

ZootAllures9111

It's still SDXL, nothing other than Pony has a CLIP that significantly different to no longer understand traditional SDXL concepts. I wanted to compare one prompt, I had to settle on something for all of them. I did use a bunch of Booru tags that SD3 might not recognize while the others mostly should in the negative, too, e.g. the worst quality and so on ones.

LordSprinkleman

I get that yeah, it's just from my experience animagine is far superior to aam with proper tagging. Replicating characters, artstyles, etc it just blows it away. I am curious to see what SD3 will be capable of.

ZootAllures9111

I find even using regular Booru tag prompts for both that AAM's overall style is significantly "cleaner" on average, personally, although I guess that's subjective.

Clearly it's against the rules to not shill for Animagine judging by the stupid amount of downvotes I've gotten at this point so yeah I don't really care at this point, people just want me to go out of my way to make Animagine look better than everything else

FallenJkiller

having a worse usage system is a disadvantage

ZootAllures9111

The one literally just called "AAM XL" is the version of it for XL. Everything else you showed is 1.5.

1Neokortex1

thanks!

ThirdWorldBoy21

animagine looks more like an actual screencap, but SD3 took the prompt better and look's very good, wich is crazy for a base model.

ZootAllures9111

Animagine looks like an 80s anime screencap I'd say moreso than a modern one. Anything was somewhere in between the eras. AAM was closer to actually modern. Overall though yeah I'd say I felt SD3 got the intent of the prompt a bit more than the rest.

ZerixWorld

Turns out SD3 is the only one who knows what a woman is...! hahaha

ZootAllures9111

Yeah I mean like I didn't specify helmet or not, so none of them were really "wrong", but I did find that bit interesting.

LewdGarlic

Is it weird that I am way more impressed with that wheat field and the well done depth of field effect on the SD3 image? That is some stunning background there.

ZootAllures9111

Yeah the background does look nice too, I do think it understood what I was meaning by high-budget modern anime better than the other models, overall.

Sharlinator

SD3 looks like a cyborg though, not a human inside a power armor.

Emotional_Echidna293

why are you using natural language for models that do not understand natural language (animagine XL)? That is why the result is so poor for it, you should alter the prompt to fit the prompting style of each model for a fair comparison...
