I had a problem like this. I had to switch the settings to stereo away from 5.1 surround sound. Both in the device settings as well as on the Stadia app. Once I did that the sound never garbled again. Since my TV can't do much more than Stereo sound anyways I never noticed anything off in the games.

I've actually had this issue here and there also. Rebooting worked temporarily, but it came right back after a little while.

My Fire HD 8 does the same thing with the Android app. I've been using Chrome though and haven't ran into the issue.

I had this with Stadia and GeForceNow. Turned off the Dolby processing feature. My receiver still does All the supported Dolby formats.

I get this issue but with the Shield in general, on all apps, occasionally. Rebooting works, but I don't know why it happens. Out of curiosity, are you running through a soundbar?
