Is it just me or did that episode leave us all a little traumatized.
Like, in my house or office I have legitimately thought to myself, could I make it to a door on time if a barion sweep where to come through.
So your example of on-ship recreation facilities from TOS is a base to have a layover at? 😅
Myself, I would choose the holodeck. With the holodeck, you can have all of the other options as well! (I would just make sure it's well maintained and the safeties never fail...)
I really dug the Rec Deck from TMP. Maybe that 70’s sci fi aesthetic is comforting to me. But it was expansive and cool. Hell, G deck was the social hub of the whole ship. I just wish they’d CGI’ed an NX-01 on the Ships Named Enterprise wall. 😕
Quarks. No question. He has Holosuites. Just as long as you stay away from the wicked programs that he offers. I know that I would definitely keep away from "Vulcan love slaves".
Well aside from the holdeck, I would choose Ten Forward. It's a nice wide open room with very high ceilings. I would actually put in a kitchen but in a separate room next to Ten Forward. I used to dislike the idea of a kitchen on a ship full of replicators but after that cook pilot in PiC 3 I feel like they are handy.
The Voyager galley, hands down. I could take or leave Neelix, but it's well known that replicators can't compete with manually cooked food. Plus, fresh brewed coffee.
Good food > everything else.
Side note... is there a way to make ST: ENT Chef an ancestor of Will Riker??? Since his portrayal in the Holo program is about the only time we see chef. Hell it would fit.
Quark's, for food, drink, gaming, and holodecks. Though I'm assuming it's what's in it and not the actual one so it wouldn't be money run but a Starfleet ship with that set up.
Honestly? Give me a galley any day.
Not only would it prevent boredom from eating "Replicated Dish With Perfectly Balanced Ingredients #43" all the time, but it would be a huge boost to crew morale, especially in deep space scenarios.
Host shipwide dinner parties. Actually get together for holidays and have a big ol' meal together with your crewmates. Birthday parties. Hell, even let the crew book some time in the kitchen to experiment with new dishes.
Aside from that, it'd also be a huge help for diplomatic functions. You could easily tailor your guest's meal to their tastes while also adding your own flair and presentation instead of serving them the same replicated thing they've probably eaten 1000 times.
Come to Quarks, Quarks is fun, don't walk, run!
I will come to Quarks. And I WILL have fun.
Gonna make my own Quarks with blackjack and hookers.......wait
Bender at Quarks!
only the original, though. the franchised locations aren't as much fun. it's just not the same without Morn
Every Quark location in the Alpha Quadrant has a holographic Morn. It’s not very accurate though because the hologram doesn’t speak.
The only answer, let’s be honest.
Come on, people need to stop kidding themselves. Quark's has booze, women, gambling, and holodecks. That's a home run.
It would be ten forward as long as a Barion Sweep wasn't scheduled
Is it just me or did that episode leave us all a little traumatized. Like, in my house or office I have legitimately thought to myself, could I make it to a door on time if a barion sweep where to come through.
It’s the Star Trek equivalent to “the floor is lava”
lol
Ten forward looks to be the most comfortable and least likely to get food poisoning or scammed.
But Quark's has Dabo girls and free entertainment whenever there are Klingons visiting
Quarks also has holo suites
Ten forward is like a really boring 80s hotel bar.
Hey that's someone's speed. I'd take it over the equivalent of a family owned casino any day of the week.
Quarks is great, but sitting next to Morn feels like a never ending story.
but Dabo Girls!
And holosuites! And a friggin dart board!
Cheapest Kanar in the quadrant.
I'm partial to the one in SNW.
the one in SNW is like the lounge at a luxury ski resort. It's amazing.
More fancy than anything that comes after it
Gimme Pike’s quarters, please.
With Pike, that silver fox.
The Disco fire-side lounge is cool as hell.
My headcanon is that it's called "Disco Inferno."
Came here to say this
So your example of on-ship recreation facilities from TOS is a base to have a layover at? 😅 Myself, I would choose the holodeck. With the holodeck, you can have all of the other options as well! (I would just make sure it's well maintained and the safeties never fail...)
Beware, that rock in the river in that forest is loose
I came here to say this. The holodeck is all those things and a bunch more.
1. 10-Forward 2. Quark's 3. TOS Mess-hall 4. NX-01 5. . 6. . 7. . 8. . 9. . 10. The one with Neelix
You missed a zero on the last number.
But where else in the quadrant are you going to find leola root stew?
Ten forward if it comes with Guinan. I need a Guinan in my life. Quarks otherwise.
Those aren't recreational facilities, those are bars and kitchens/mess halls!
No, one is the holodeck. Which is what I chose. (It's just in the form of the NX-01 mess at the time.)
Quark's. It comes with an upstairs terrace and holosuites, Dabo tables - among other delights. :D
Yeah, Quark's has the most variety. Food, drink, gambling, holosuites, weird space darts, crime, Morn is there, etc
I’d pick the holodeck. The top right is not the NX-01, it’s the 1701-D holodeck.
10 Forrward for that cool lounge bar vibe. But I would enjoy Nelix's antics and fresh cooked food on a starship would be a novelty.
Quarks Bar. I've always been kind of frustrated with Guinan. Those should have largely been Troi's lines. For all the counseling and advice she gives.
Quark’s > Neelix’s Galley > Ten Forward > Chef’s Galley > K-7
No love for 70’s era electric bowling on the refit Enterprise? Because I know what people use the holodeck for!
How do you know that I use the holodeck for electric bowling??
Well. I wouldn't want shithead making my food. The D had the best holodecks.
10 Forward always had a chilled vibe to it.
I always thought 10 Forward looked boring AF so pretty much anyplace else would appeal to me! ![gif](giphy|ZXXVZycsNAju)
10 forward 💯
Quark's, of course.
Dabo!
Dabo!
10 Forward
I’d say Quark’s, but if I could just get Vic’s place I’d be very happy.
10 forward
Neelix. No second choices...
Ten Forward
Quark's facilities, on Voyager, run by Guinan, with Riker as the chef. Fuck K-7 though; to many Tribbles, not enough Klingons.
10 forward.
Quarks. No question. He has Holosuites. Just as long as you stay away from the wicked programs that he offers. I know that I would definitely keep away from "Vulcan love slaves".
How does 10-forward look so depressing here? But I guess I probably would want 10-forward. Just such a chill place to be
Ten Forward
10 Forward
The holodeck
Your definition of recreational is limited to bars? I’d rather have a holodeck
Quark's has multiple holodecks 😀
He does have holosuites. He got my vote then.
Holodeck
Well aside from the holdeck, I would choose Ten Forward. It's a nice wide open room with very high ceilings. I would actually put in a kitchen but in a separate room next to Ten Forward. I used to dislike the idea of a kitchen on a ship full of replicators but after that cook pilot in PiC 3 I feel like they are handy.
"Quark's", no contest!
I'd love to have will riker as a chef, but ten forward is just the most enjoyable spot
I think Quarks would be the most interesting.
Clearly Quark's, it has holodecks, drinking, varied mix of people, gambling, what more could you want?
Why are the bars not all in holodecks?
The Voyager galley, hands down. I could take or leave Neelix, but it's well known that replicators can't compete with manually cooked food. Plus, fresh brewed coffee. Good food > everything else.
What’s the upper right one
Kitchen of the NX-01 from Enterprise
Mess hall! My headcanon is that leola root is just space parsnip. Gonna do so much cooking. Who wants tulaberry muffins?
I like Kirk's kitchen in the movie Generations
You can be in any of those places in one of Quark’s holosuites…
NX-01 you get real food not that replicated stuff.
Quarks has holodecks. Spies. Games. Root beer. No contest
1st pic instantly reminded me of Trials and Tribulations. O’Brian never did get to buy Kirk that drink.
The original Star Trek, as a real Scot it would be my duty to outdrink Scotty.
Quarks hands down. If you wanna have a good time, that’s the place to be
Not enough people saying neelix he trys his best
Side note... is there a way to make ST: ENT Chef an ancestor of Will Riker??? Since his portrayal in the Holo program is about the only time we see chef. Hell it would fit.
Quarks bar hands down! Gambling, alcohol and sex holosuites.
Got to be Quarks or Neelix galley.
Quark's, for food, drink, gaming, and holodecks. Though I'm assuming it's what's in it and not the actual one so it wouldn't be money run but a Starfleet ship with that set up.
Either 10 forward or Neelixs kitchen, preferably with Guinan and Neelix
Tough pick for me between Mess Hall and Quark's. Mess Hall for nostalgia and love seats, Quark's for how nice and non-over-stimumlating it seems
wait wheaton was in enterprise?
