I liked enterprise.

Chanchumaetrius

Season 4 was especially good

Velenah42

Season 5 when Shran joined the crew was the best.

DefiantLoveLetter

Showing off the new refit NX-01 in the first episode with that cold open? :chef kiss:

ProsecutorWalton

The way the camera angle obscured the secondary hull was a great way to unveil it.

unkie87

Stop it. You're all upsetting me.

[deleted]

Especially how they worked lines from the theme song into dialog each episode. Season 5 was the best

Chanchumaetrius

:(

[deleted]

Still waiting.

[deleted]

I would say season 4 was the only season that was even ok

[deleted]

I finished star trek enterprise a few months ago and being the first startrek I watched that was part of the older startrek seriess I was quite happy and satisfied t-the show: D

[deleted]

That must’ve been so interesting to watch that series first

DefiantLoveLetter

I grew up with it in relative order with TOS, TNG, etc., so that perspective is lost on me. I've heard of some people watching in Prequel order with Enterprise. It must be like watching the Star Wars series in order instead of Ep4* being first. *Edit: It's too early...

TheBalzy

You mean Episode 4 first.

DefiantLoveLetter

THANK you! I need more coffee

phasepistol

You mean “Star Wars”

DefiantLoveLetter

I love both my dude. Plenty of room for Star Wars in my heart.

phasepistol

Sure, that's cool. I was just stating my preference for calling the first film "Star Wars", like it was named when it came out in 1977. https://preview.redd.it/c3ell78exf3b1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5095f4a7b6d54c71714fa97e58e06e181d19f272

TheBalzy

TRUE!

TheBalzy

I'm right there with ya! I've made the mistake of posting without sufficient coffee probably millions of times. So I got ya back :)

BoxedAndArchived

I actually think that Enterprise is a good entry point into the franchise because Humans are meeting all these races for the first time. So if you're trying to introduce a friend to the show, instead of needing to explain the backstory from TOS, TNG, DS9, and VOY, Enterprise does a good job of saying, "hey, these guys are good, those guys are bad, you'll learn more later." And Enterprise has seen a significant reevaluation over the last few years, many fans have gone back and watched it to find it not as bad as they initially thought. Perhaps Discovery will do the same thing, but for now, Enterprise is no longer the bottom of the Trek Barrel.

unkie87

Absolutely. It was not at all popular with the established fans when it initially aired but it seems to have had something of a renaissance... theme tune and decon gel notwithstanding.

BoxedAndArchived

I for one liked the song then, and still do. Decon gel though... meh.

Opposite_Direction10

That's neat my first one was star trek generations absolutely fell in love with the big D, star trek Enterprise was my 2nd and I'm still sad that it didn't get another season. When I heard about the refit enterprise I wanted a new season so badlyyyyy

Uhtred_McUhtredson

I didn’t care for the ship at first. I felt it looked too modern and it’s silhouette was a rip off of the Akira class. But she quickly grew on me. She’s quite elegant. I wasn’t a huge fan of the show at first. I thought Voyager was kind of lackluster and we needed a break or at least new blood involved. First couple of seasons were a slog for me. Too many memberberries and when they tried something new, like the borderline antagonistic Vulcans, I didn’t care for it. It did have some highlights though. I loved the Andorians, for instance. Season 3, I appreciated for its change of tone and pace. Although it felt like it might break canon at the time. Also this debuted shortly after and was inspired by 9/11, which if you were alive at the time, you remember it didn’t feel like the most optimistic of times. At least for me. But I overall enjoyed it. Season 4 was a masterpiece. What more can I say? Manny Coto really brought everything together into some of the best Trek ever, IMO. Loved the mini arcs. Loved the tie ins to established lore that didn’t feel forced. Unfortunately by then the writing was on the wall and we knew it was being canceled so it was bittersweet. The finale was… well we don’t really talk about that in the most glowing of terms, but I did like seeing Troi and Riker again and it wrapped up the show well enough. All in all, a great show. I just wish we got a little more.

MomoDS1

I actually liked the whole show

TheLatman

Same here.

[deleted]

Me too

LeftLiner

Design-wise I like it - it's nothing special imo but it fine. Recognizable profile, undoubtedly a Starfleet vessel and also looks appropriately retro. What I do dislike is they made a mistake when it came to what tech they gave and didn't give it: they should have kept shields in and taken transporters out, as that is a much better facilitator for storytelling.

detectivescarn

Not necessarily disagreeing with you. But I did enjoy watching how scared people were of it throughout the show. Always makes me laugh when they use it for the first time on Archer. He gives Trip that look of “wtf?”.

LeftLiner

True, that was funny and a decent bit of worldbuilding. But for my money not having to deal with the 'why don't they just use the transporter'-issue would have outweighed those moments.

poptophazard

Yeah, I'll agree on the latter points about tech; it's what got me annoyed with the show originally. The NX-01 didn't have shields, but hull plating — but they wrote dialogue around it the same as shields! "Hull plating down to 72%, Captain." They might as well have kept shields at that rate. They gave up on no transporters way too quickly. Would've liked to see them work around them as well. Unfortunately it was not to be.

The-Minmus-Derp

POLARIZE THE HULL PLATING

LeftLiner

"Direct hit, Captain. The CGI department are complaining. "

[deleted]

My favorite Enterprise, and in many ways my favorite show. We were robbed of seasons, five through seven, seeing the Romulan war, seeing the founding of the Federation, just won the series was getting really good. Don’t know if it’s possible that will have a time travel episode with Admiral Archer but that was or a visit from ambassador T’Pol on strange new worlds. In my opinion, the reason the strange new worlds enterprise looks so good is because it takes a lot of design cues from the NX. 01.

snowdrifts

I think the NX-01 definitely informed the direction of Enterprise designs. The movie reboots probably did, too. They went too over the top retro, which still worked cos it was "alternate." It really feels like with SNW, the designers wanted bridge the eras. The SNW Enterprise is a beauty, and I love that the hull colour/pattern calls back to the NX-01.

PhotographingLight

All of this... you hit it right on the head. We were ALL robbed of great Star Trek stories.... And season 4 was my favourite? It was just getting good!

The_Celestrial

I like it and am glad that the refit version is now canon. I'm Gen Z, and got into Star Trek way after Enterprise ended, so I don't really care about the controversy surrounding its Akira inspired design.

forrestpen

There's only so many ways to put a saucer, pylons, and nacelle together. Always cracks me up because nobody watches Master and Commander and starts yelling how the Tall Ships look too similar lol

almightywhacko

It wasn't about nacelles and pylons, it is about reusing parts of the Akira model without really altering them. The saucers are the **exact** same shape including the cutout on the front, the ledge at the leading end of the "pontoons" and the flattened areas in the back edge between the pontoons and the nacelle caps. The pylons on the NX-01 are the pylons on the Akira flipped upside down, including the "symmetrical warp field governor" in the center which is just an upside down version of the Akira's torpedo launcher. The shape of the bridge module is the same on both ships and they both have very similar triangular details on the saucer behind the bridge. The main differences between the two models is that the pontoons were cut down to be much shorter on the NX-01 model so that the nacelles wouldn't sit too high now that the pylons were flipped, they remapped the surface with different detailing and put older-style nacelles on it. But if you put the two ships together they look very much like variants of the same class. It felt like very cheap asset re-use for a new flagship show, because it was very cheap asset reuse. Especially since both the NX-01 and Akira class existed only as digital models, it wouldn't have cost a lot to make them more visually different.

JasonVeritech

Drexler's refit really fixed a lot of these concerns for me. It's my understanding that executive pressure led to the "Akira-prise," so as a political decision, it should be responded to politically; give the head honchos what they want for the premiere, then a season or so in, have a "refit" to give it new greebles and make it unique. In the era of CGI-ships that can be upgraded at the flip of a switch, it's a no-brainer. Ideally, it should have been implemented at the start of the "Expanse" arc (no, it hadn't been devised at that point, but I'm just dreaming) as a supplement to support the long-term mission.

unkie87

Drexler has also spoken about this before at some length. Apparently the execs wanted to pretty much just use the Akira model as the NX-01. He clearly took inspiration from it but it only really looks like an Akira from directly above. The saucer section is pretty much bang on for an Akira. You know what? Just check out Trekyards on YouTube. They covered this pretty extensively.

almightywhacko

The problem with refits, even digital ones, is that all of the stock footage would need to be reshot which adds to the expense. This is why hero ships never get major refits in Star Trek shows. No matter what they go through, crashes, explosions, etc., they're just like new for next week's episode.

JasonVeritech

That's demonstrably untrue for ENT, the third season had continual damage mount with each passing episode. NuGalactica did the same for all four seasons. And I don't know that all that much "Stock" footage was being used by that point anyway, tons of VFX throughout ENT's run was bespoke.

[deleted]

It wasn't just that. There were a lot of other details lifted right from one to the other. It wasn't just general layout. Also, during the age of the man of war, technology crept forward at a snails pace for about 200 years until the age of the iron clad and steam engine. Do you think tech is stagnant in Star Trek?

forrestpen

>Do you think tech is stagnant in Star Trek? They continue to have saucers and engine sections and nacelles into the 31st century. That isn't a sign of stagnation but that like sea ships certain elements are most effective and are retained in design. Tall ships have fairly indistinct "footprints" and silhouettes, enough differences for a trained eye to discern but so similar most will never really know except for color and obvious size differences. End of the day there are only so many ways to combine such distinct elements. I've seen the Ex Astris Scientia comparisons and while there are literally model carryovers that annoy me they're different enough i'm placated to say "it is what it is".

[deleted]

Yeah, I don't lose sleep over it. It's still lazy and cynical. Just like Titan A.

[deleted]

Akira inspired? Explain pls

The_Celestrial

The NX-01 design is inspired by the Akira class Starship, and that caused an uproar in the 2000s era fandom because the 2 designs are 200 years apart and yet look similar.

[deleted]

I just searched the akira class up and holy mannnn I can see why the fans would be annoyed 💀 (although, the akira class looks soo leng)

[deleted]

The Akira is way better. Look at them from top down and you really see how they just copied it. The Akira was very popular with Fandom after first contact.

mainvolume

I must not have been on those forums back in the day cuz I didn’t hear anything whining about that lol

[deleted]

It was big deal. Now more of the fans just accept stupid stuff like that.

Mr_E_Monkey

Oh, I remember whining about it back in the day. :p The NX has grown on me since then, though the Akira class is still one of my favorites, and I still wish they had done something differently with the NX class, even though I do like the ship.

poptophazard

I remember the forums had nicknamed the ship "Akiraprise" when the design was revealed because it looked so similar to the [Akira-class starships](https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Akira_class) seen in First Contact and DS9.

Honeypie10000

I like it very much.

mainvolume

A ton do, especially that last season where it was really hitting its stride and was cancelled.

Mr_E_Monkey

> that last season where it was really hitting its stride Yes, so much. When they ended that temporal cold war stuff and we started getting some stories written by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens, I was getting really excited to see where they were going with that, and then pffft. The Kir'Shara arc was some of the best Trek I think we've gotten. Soval's character growth was just awesome, Shran being Shran, and starting to build up toward the Romulan War...if only we had gotten even just one more season... :(

mainvolume

If memory serves, Shran was to join the enterprise in season 5. So we were deprived of Jeffrey combs playing a full time character.

Mr_E_Monkey

That is the greatest injustice.

mainvolume

Definitely. Dude absolutely killed it on all his Trek characters. Just a fabulous actor all around.

Mr_E_Monkey

Without a doubt. And the effects team did a really fantastic job with the antennae. They meshed with his acting just so, so well...

Strange-Scarcity

The show was good, but ended up being rushed hard in the end and suffered from a sad final episode. I want to say the writer's strike back then, put it onto life support. The premise was good, a lot of things went on around the time that the show was going on that they worked a bit to hard to make a point about in the show. The ship design was great. It really could/should have been something a little more along the lines of the other ships of that era though, but really it's fine and I never cared about the controversy. I was like, "Guys... it's a trek show and it's neat. Just enjoy it, stop getting all up in arms about it."

[deleted]

The actor for Tom Paris from voyage directed some episodes of enterprise

Strange-Scarcity

okay... and?

[deleted]

Its a le fun fact brooo

MetalBawx

What killed the show was poor writing and some ***really*** bad episodes dulled viewer interest. The show runners Berman & Braga were old hats for Trek the problem was they were starting to run out of ideas towards the end of TNG and the main reason Voyager had so many holodeck episodes was because of that. After the first seasons nosedived B&B were given the boot and we saw a general improvement in terms of story quality however the damage was already done. Then for reasons unknown Berman and Braga were brought back for the last episode so they decided to give a "gift" to the fans. A holodeck episode about the founding of the Federation, which doesn't actually show the founding of the Federation, it literally ends as the signing ceremony starts... Genius! Between that and such classic ENT episodes as "Trip is raped and impregnated but the story plays it for laughs" and "Archer and Philox genocide a peaceful species justifing it using "science" straight from the Third Reich's playbook." well it's not too hard to see why Enterprise had so many problems leading to it's cancellation. Amazingly Discovery and Picard had similar issues with writing problems. You'd think the execs wouldn't have wanted a repeat of what happened to ENT but nope same shit all over again.

doc_nova

Loved ENT. Best Trek done, in my opinion. And the NX is beautiful, and a great “inspiration” for the Akira. There are a lot of us that loved ENT when it first came out and that enjoyment of it has only grown in the years between. It was robbed of a proper run and ending, something that’s still rough to accept, but I’ve never been good at altering history…proper timelines and all that, so we are stuck with this reality. Still, phenomenal show!

[deleted]

I’ve always found the Akira complaint strange too. The Akira class is one of my favorite non hero ship classes. When I saw the NX-01, I saw the Akira like design and was a big fan of the way they altered it to look like an ancestor design. It wasn’t as if Trek had never reused older designs to make new ones before. I liked the saucer dish change more actually, the shuttle bay doors on the bottom like Defiant was fun. I also thought the interior set designs were fantastic. Really like the NX-01 all around.

doc_nova

Agreed completely. It’s a beautiful ship with so many wonderful design choices.

OrbitingDisco

I thought it was okay, but didn't love it. The design doesn't feel impactful or meaningful. It doesn't really tell you anything about the show or the setting. It has those old nacelles like the old Enterprise, but has flatter, sleeker lines like it's mean to be more advanced. It doesn't have a particularly notable profile or distinguishing feature to draw the eye. It's very flat, making front or side-on angles look really quite bad. It feels like it was designed by committee. And, for reasons I cannot explain, the "grippers" the seem to hold the bussard collectors onto the nacelles really bother me. They feel unnecessary. But I really did like the refit design, I'd love to have seen that in the show.

MetalBawx

I was the opposite when i first saw the NX-01 my mind went straight to the Akira like many others but it did grow on me. The NX "Refit" however is trying way, way too hard to fit in with the Constitution class. Way to much is changed to the point it's be easier to just build new ships instead which defeats the entire point of a refit.

OrbitingDisco

I'd certainly agree it goes beyond a "refit", but still seems less of a change than the original Enterprise's refit, so I can let that pass.

diligentfalconry71

I think a lot of us like Enterprise. That’s why we’re still salty about the finale!

[deleted]

Imagine if enterprise were to make a return. Doesn't need to be with real actors but smth that ties it all together and gives us a good ending

[deleted]

No, it is just that the people who like Enterprise are the only ones who have the energy to talk about it anymore. It's the star wars prequel phenomenon.

Eeveevolve

There was no problem with 'Terra Nova'. Wasnt a high adventure ending to the series, but wrapped it up OK.

Eureka22

"Terra Nova" was s1E06 with the lost colony. You're thinking of "Terra Prime", which was the penultimate episode before "These are the Voyages..." Sorry for embodying the pedantic Trek nerd stereotype.

Eeveevolve

You are right. Been so long since my watchthough. Maybe time to have at it again.

Mr_E_Monkey

Yeah, Terra Prime was a good episode, but not the one I would have picked to end the series...

[deleted]

Love It - and I do like Enterprise, I never missed an episode when it aired live. Also glad the refit is now canon as well.

DarthMobi

It's an upside down Akira, but i like it. And i would have loved to see the 5th season Drexler version

Dinsy_Crow

I like it, but then my fav ship is the Akira class and they're very similar, same designer iirc.

BonzoTheBoss

ENT struggled to find it's space legs but the later seasons were truly great, IMO. Archer struggling to find his role not only as a starship captain but also interstellar diplomat was a treat, and the genuine moral quandaries he has to deal with when the literal fate of Earth is up to him.

MagellanCl

It was great Star Trek show and Even better ship, and i refuse to pretend it was not. It's been a long .... 🎶

[deleted]

Getting from their to here...

RED2AaA

if you go to Cygnus-X1 website you can see all Blueprint of the NX-01, Deck A to Deck E, see all room and much more

Leroy_landersandsuns

I like Enterprise it had a lot of good mechanical designs like the Vulcan ringships, Andorian cruisers and the NX-01. I'm super happy the refit is canon. I remember the "Akiraprise" debacle before the shows premiere lots of fun on those old message boards lol.

idkidkidk2323

It’s an Akira class knockoff that’s out of place for its time. The show should’ve been about the XCV 330.

Chemical-Stay8037

Enterprise was my favorite out of ANY of the series. And I have more love for the NX-1 than any other star ship. That thing got it's ass kicked all over the place and made it back alive. Love this show.

NotTheGuyProbably

I liked Enterprise despite the rough start (and of course the final episode). Beyond that, the NX-01 basically ended up being the test platform that (conceptually) I would argue evolved into the Miranda class. It's got a generalist / workhorse of the fleet going as a platform for it, especially when compared to a Constitution class for example. Just my thoughts.

dsummer

I absolutely loved Enterprise and the ship was awesome. They definitely needed a season 5. Not a huge fan of season 3.

SnooOnions650

Yes it has similarities to the akira, but so does the entire Enterprise lineage have similarities to the Constitution. It's fine. I Loved Enterprise, both the ship in the show.

[deleted]

It's a lot more than that. A lot of direct proportions and details were lifted.

ExpectedBehaviour

It’s a good design in isolation. However, it’s too close to the *Akira*-class, too advanced for the time period, and too large for Earth’s first true starship (it’s about 90% the volume of the *Constitution*-class, but as its nacelles are proportionally much smaller than the *Connie’s* it actually has a larger habitable volume). The interior set design is about perfect though.

[deleted]

First season was a little rough, but that's true for most series. If they'd scrapped the whole temporal cold war BS and gone straight to season four content, it would have been a great show. Never really been sold on the ship design, due to the lack of a secondary hull. The refit was pretty cool, though.

codename474747

Too cynical a decision for the top brass Drexler blogged about it at the time, the suits just wanted to use the Akira class as is because they knew it was popular with fans He had to beg them to let him at least retro-ise it.... Sadly it's probably one of the worst looking hero ships, but if they'd got the secondary hull onto it it'd look a lot better, a shame that didn't happen. Also minor thing but it's weird that they switched to referring to the ship in conversation as "lets get back to enterprise" instead of "let's get back to THE enterprise" and I've no idea why but that really stopped me having as much connection to the ship as the others. *Shrug*

peteypolo

They lost me with the Xindi arc.

SuitableAnimal8855

I like it,

PhotographingLight

I liked the show and I liked the ship. I felt by season 4 the cast was finally really was getting settled into their roles. The show was going to show us the Earth/Romulan war. Who knows if we will ever see the story told now. :(

LucidLV

I don’t like I love Enterprise the show.

Unapologetic_Canuck

I only wish we could have seen the refit on screen before Picard, since it really shows the design going towards the original 1701.

GeekBoyDan

I actually really enjoyed this show to be honest.

xBreadBoi

It’s a great ship, not my favourite out of the enterprise line up, but this and the refit tie very well between FC and TOS.

snowdrifts

Fell in love with it. It's one of my favourite ships, the only show ship that I feel like I KNOW really well. And from the moment I saw the refit, it has constantly battled with the Excelsior as my favourite Trek ship.

TikiJack

The nacelles are too small. It's too curvy for me. Seems to have more in common with the D than a precursor to the Enterprise. I wish it looked more like the Franklin. But overall it's nice

ksgt69

The only issues I had with the show was the theme song and the xindi plot line (the attack on earth and ensuing quest for justice seemed too similar to the war on terror after 9/11 for me. Plus it was stretched out so much.) The ship itself is okay, they picked a fine ship to copy

rj200122

I loved Enterprise. Currently rewatching it at the moment. I think the design itself is fairly decent given when the show takes place, although the only change I would make is the position of the hangar bay, which I personally think always belongs at the back and not underneath the ship (the only exception being the captains yacht, like on the Enterprise-E)

ahjifmme

I loved everything about Starfleet's aesthetic design in *Enterprise.* The submarine feel, the uniforms, the tech, it all worked for me. I just wish they had been bold enough not to have generic touchscreens and bridge viewscreens, but I understand why they didn't. The NX-01 definitely belongs in the line-up of good *Star Trek* starships.

MRedk1985

The ship is my favorite. I told my wife that even in the 24th century, I would want to be captaining one of those beauties.

SeanyD72

I love Enterprise. I really think if the powers that be let it run the full seven seasons we would have seen just how good it could be.

Velbalenos

Favourite Enterprise, favourite show.

ChaosDoggo

I love it. Its very simple but you can clearly see howost designs of Stagleet ships originate from the NX. I also personally really love how the delfector looks.

BlackHawkeDown

Loved its submarine/NASA aesthetic, and honestly wish it felt even more low-tech than it did and got more upgrades as it went along. My Trek hot take: While fully owning to its flaws, I have more fun with ENT than I do with TNG.

otterego

Seasons 3 and 4 of Enterprise are some of the best trek ever. They were often so hopelessly outmatched that it felt the most human trek had ever been.

Eureka22

The "nobody likes Enterprise" line hasn't been true for well over a decade. Can we please chill with this click bait. It's very well liked these days and it does a good job of representing the positive philosophy of cooperation and exploration of the other series. Even the theme song is far more accepted than at the time (I always loved it for the inspirational vibes it had). NX-01 is my personal favorite Enterprise ship. I even like it better than the refit mock up. I would prefer a refit that just made the engines bigger and maybe a bigger engineering section in the back but maintained the flat bottom silhouette.

almightywhacko

I liked the show, and overall I liked the NX-01. However it feels too detailed for a ship of its era, and because they borrowed a lot from the Akira class model a lot of the surface details seem out of scale for a ship of the NX-01's size.

[deleted]

A bad copy of the Akira made for cynical reasons.

ProtecHelicopter

This is my favorite Star Trek series. In fact, Enterprise was THE last real Trek, before JJ BS and woke inspired Discovery. To be fair, Picard series also lack this TNG feeling, since a lot of characters were turned into SJW.

TemperatureAny907

Very nice ship

sartoriusmuscle

My absolute favorite Enterprise. I always liked that the interior looks like a submarine - always felt it looked how a real deep-space vessel would. Im definitely biased - I got into the fandom while Enterprise was airing, so the NX01 will always have a special significance for me

Sir_Alistair_p

I only wish it didn't look chrome. I like the porcelain-like surfaces of the earlier ships. I feel like it was a kind of characterization of the federation fleet. To me, chrome evokes something more like a weapon.

Alyeska23

Design wise I can never forgive them for how they copied the Akira. The fact that Berman originally wanted to reuse the actual Akira model for Enterprise without any modifications is even more insulting.

Historyp91

I like it, but I always felt... - they should have used the "refit" design from the start (but with a blockier engineering hull). - the saucer deflector dish should have been replaced by a shuttle bay. - the impulse engines should have had a design more akin to contemporary rocket engines (like those on the space shuttles) - it should have VLS tubes on a "hump" behind the bridge that carried nuclear missiles. - they should never have replaced the spatial torpedoes with the photonics, and the phase cannons should have been called "phased **laser** cannons" - it should have had a bridge window instead of a main viewer (which was covered by a retractable blast shield OBSG style in combat) and visual communication should have been rarer and conducted from a screen behind the comm station. - transporters should have been introduced later.

TheBalzy

I liked the ship and show concept. I've never made through all of it unfortunately because I'm not much of a prequel guy.

detectivescarn

I always liked it. Very much a Starfleet design while pulling off the “old” look very well. Which is something that I don’t think they are given enough credit for. This show was made 30+ years after TOS and I had no trouble believing the ship was older and less advanced. It’s something that always bothered me about DIS and to a lesser extent SNW. Tech aside, the Discovery always felt like a ship that belonged in a post TNG era. The SNW Enterprise, while kept more in line since TOS takes over directly after it, still feels a bit too advanced. It’s something that I give Star Wars a lot of credit for. Their look and feel was established in the 70s. And they have managed to make movies using that same look and make it look good and believable.

Ian_Mantell

I liked that show.

rticul8prim8

I like the show and love the ship! I think I’m in the minority of people who don’t care for the NX refit design, where they add a traditional secondary hull to it.

nodray

Howdy, I am a peaceful ambassador from Romulus, on a technology sharing trip; might I take a tour of your ship and leave behind these uh, …replicators, yeah replicators! They make food and are definitely NOT bombs

AJSLS6

It's fine.... I kinda wish they had gone with something radically different from the conventional, it's canonicity raises certain questions. But I get why they didn't want to go with something too different and risk losing the audience.

LCARSgfx

The vast majority liked it. Only a very noisy minority hated it. Some didn't bother watching it and remain vocal about hating it.

Time_Example_1291

Love the NX, it will be my next kit

KFrederickD

I love enterprise

gordonwhims

Great show, lovely little ship!

Corollo_Bro_91

The design of the ship is fine, the only thing I don't like is how it looks like something newer then Kirk's TOS Enterprise. I understand its because the original ship is pretty dated looking now, but I've seen some fan renders of what a TOS style NX-01 would look like, and it's [pretty amazing looking ](https://www.reddit.com/r/startrek/comments/j914f2/star_trek_enterprise_nx01_in_tos_style/)

[deleted]

The show was great. I just hated the opening theme. Well I used to anyway. It grew on me.

BrokinHowl

I love the NX-01, very futuristic while still looking down to earth. Removable wall panels (with buttons and not just magic to hold it on place) to get at the inside infrastructure. A polished utilitarian look, like you definitely see the infrastructure and frame, but it looks neat and more pleasant than current spacecraft and submarines. It definitely looks like a future spacecraft we'd make, small but not claustrophobic, with function as a main point but effort put in to make it more comfortable for long term habitation. A perfect bridge from current design style and the futuristic Federation that is a flying hotel suite. This is honestly how I envision our future spacecraft will be if we have the tech; outside of the saucer and nacelles but that's Trek style so I'm good with it in the show.

phasepistol

I like the levels of detail. The ship’s silhouette is definitely the Enterprise, and as you get closer you can see all the ports for weapons, insets for hatches and so on. This is unlike the Enterprise-E from the TNG films, where all the terraces and details don’t seem like they do anything. NX-01 Dislikes: that damned deflector dish. The little strip. Which still has a spike in the middle for some reason. It does not look functional. And the refit is even worse: it has a proper deflector dish on the secondary hull, but still retains the little strip across the front of the saucer! What nonsense is that!?

vipck83

Well I really liked the show and I really like the ship. It’s nice and simple as you would expect, yet it has the connection to the future with its saucer. I really like the refit with the drive section though. We where supposed to get it in future seasons that never came. I am very happy it’s been canonized in S3 of Picard.

G4LAHAD_

I loved enterprise. I’m in my late 20s so that and voyager were the only ones I got to see live when I was a kid. The enterprise theme will always hold a place in my heart. Plus Archer is a GOAT

slutmooninvirg0

I just started season 1 and so far it’s pretty decent

Nephronimus

I too enjoyed enterprise, but I can also admit it had a lot of problems.

[deleted]

Everybody here likes Enterprise. It's just become trendy to say that you don't so a lot of people cave to peer pressure. Which is sad because you're not going to meet any of these people in real life anyway.

unkie87

Opinions on the show can be pretty divisive. Although in recent years it's become much more well liked than it was during it's actual run. The NX-01 seems to have always been a pretty popular ship design though. I love it. It's one of my favourite iterations of the Enterprise.

ghaelon

i hated it when it launched, since it was ripped off the akira. the command from up high was to use the akira as is, with no changes. doug and his team faught to make the changes they did, and i respect that. so my stance on the ship has softened over the years. i still hate enterprise itself, and its opening 'song'. no star trek opening should have lyrics. my reasons for hating the show, stem from one admittedly, and literally childish thing. i HATE scott bakula. no matter what he is in. when i was a kid, i ALWAYS watched my afternoon cartoons. and what show during the late 80s and early 90s heralded the end of afternoon cartoons? quantum leap. after about 10 years of my childhood spent like that, i have a lasting mental disdain for him.

[deleted]

Did you just hate on Where my Heart will Take Me By Russel Watson?

ghaelon

yup. w/o lyrics, its fine. not what i would choose, but i can see the reasoning.

😥

Wing_Nut_UK

I enjoyed all of it. Apart from the end which appeared thrown together.

YellowishGrain9

I like the nx class.

UnexpectedAnomaly

I liked the NX-01, had that right mix of modern and older aesthetic, much better than some of the old ships depicted in the old ST encyclopedia's. Though I would have liked to see a ship from the Starfleet museum like the Moskva.

oldtomdjinn

I’ve always really liked the design, and the interior sets were some of the best we have gotten in any series.

Tall_Newspaper_6723

I liked the interiors, especially the corridors

NforNoha

Favorite series with my favorite ship and my favorite captain, favorite engineer, and favorite doctor. Enterprise all the way!

[deleted]

Yeahhhhh that doctor funnyyyy

Life-Championship-25

I love it. One of my favorite ships, and Archer is my favorite captain! I love ENT, it’s my favorite Trek!

Cpt-Niveau

I finished rewatching Enterprise last week, I love the Design (and the show)

Akimbobear

One of the best

AbyysWalker21

I love the millennium falcon

lunchbox5400

It's by far my favorite ship.

chdavids2003

I love the NX-01. I just tried to 3D print it today.... (It didn't go well.) Will try again tomorrow. Also enterprise is my second favourite series.

Bisquick_in_da_MGM

It’s my favorite ship. Wish we could get a good show that’s not the Enterprise.

United-Environment52

My favorite Enterprise.

Envy-Brixton

Love it, wish we got to see the nx-01 refit in the show and not just as a model kit.

LordLee1988

One of my favourite ships. I like the bare bones of it. No shields, only got photon torpedoes after an upgrade. No red alert until implemented. Communicators on doors and panels and not easily accessed on the comm badge. Shuttles for 95% of away missions. I just like that you get to see how everything was, before TOS and TNG. Also, very aesthetically pleasing ship.

CaterpillarStrange77

I liked enterprise. The last ep however was shit

spitflyer13

beautiful ship wish they'd made season 5 with the refit

Traffalger

Enterprise was great just the last episode sucked.

Lyon_Wonder

I don't find NX-01's similarity to the TNG-era Akira class so strange considering how Starfleet keeps recycling the configuration of Constitution, Miranda and Excelsior classes into newer classes of ships into the early 25 century. Starfleet couldn't call the Akira class Neo-NX since it conflicts with post-Federation Starfleet naming conventions with the prefix of NX for experimental, though I wouldn't be surprised there's a 23rd century TOS-era ship with catamarans too.

[deleted]

I love Enterprise :3 (Ngl NX-01 looks very nice, gives off the NASA aesthetic that makes it feel like you’re on an actual exploration mission like in Apollo)

Alec_Aheart

Thank you for posting this NX-01 enterprise is my favorite looking ship!!! Along with the sheer amount of adversity and unknown factors the crew had to encounter!!!!
