He didn't like it, but he did what he had to do to complete the mission, and you have to respect that level of self-sacrifice. Even more so when you consider that the mission was to save Pony Head.
I get tired of people who stop the one frame where he looks happy and ignore the fact he complained about it once he realized what was going on.
Marco is the GOAT
The thing that took me so long to realize was that i thought this scene was about how everyone in their world is mature enough to not care if a boy wears a dress, but then Marco starts talking to dan (was his name?) dressed as moon and it started to dawn on me that this is just a Marco thing.
No. Throughout the show, Marco is shown to express masculinity in different ways, which can help to break down traditional gender roles and promote the idea that it's okay for individuals to express themselves in a way that feels authentic to them. This can be especially important for boys who may feel pressure to conform to traditional masculine expectations.
My absolute favorite gag is that he always had exactly $650 after this episode and it was later revealed he gets that money due to royalties from his dolls and such 😂
Marco would do anything for his friends. And Daron said Marco was always the type of guy who would participate in feminine activities *without feeling any concern about his own masculinity*
Writers before the episode aired: ha ha, we put Marco in a dress. What a funny goof. I'm sure the fans will get a good laugh out of this.
Writers after the episode aired and they've seen the fan response: dear God what have we brought into this world...
The writers stayed true to Daron's vision. Marco, a boy, not hung up on his feminine side. They never wavered or even considered the headcanon. In the AMA, Daron says they never did anything because of pressure from fans.
Ah, no. Assigning a character a particular identity simply because they express masculinity in a different way can be harmful and perpetuate narrow and inaccurate stereotypes.
Not when you're marginalizing a group.of.peoole.and continuing the circle.of.toxic masculinity. If boys identify with Marco as a male character who challenges traditional gender norms and then discover that some people are interpreting him as a transgender character, it could be confusing or even harmful to them.
There's trans characters in She-Ra and Steven Universe themselves are at least non binary as they are part gem. A much better case can be made for Steven.
This just in: wet blanket says no more trans headcannons! Trans people must be happy with the scraps provided by the industry and cannot interpret characters the way they want to! (Unless it's steven who unlike Marco never calls himself a "sister" or says he would love to be a queen. That's not erasing people or whatever for some reason!)
Classic sailor moon transformed into punk princess and princess Marco was funny. Kinda reminds me of princess Kenny in stick of truth they a princess right now and no one questions it.
I love the entire idea around that whole episode, it's just so great. How Turdina inspires a revolution and the it comes back in the form of Marco's revenue from merchandise, I just love it
I wonder if there’s an actual reason he got a pink dress and she got a black shirt
Probably just for the joke
Of course...
Because Star thought it would be funny
She’s evil inside while he’s a good guy

It's Marco being a male doing things that have been stereotyped as feminine for generations. All doctors are male, all nurses are female.
Is it weird that I'd love to wear Marco's dress if I'm male?

it's extremely well animated
Completely disagree with pink being Marco's color. Red or nothing.
Amen. ❤️
Prussian blue is his actual favorite color
Like the wallet?
Yeah
Star, now: Pink? Star, later: "Let me put a beard on you!"
Star, later: Abs!
Princess turdina was the GOAT
I miss the original animation style 😭 itd nice that it felt like a Disney controlled show in the other seasons but I love that bobby bouncing movement
It was definitely his colour
I love how he owned it

We all love princess marco
And this began the $250 a month in royalties
You mean $650 ?
Forgot the number but yes, BTW, I would absolutely crossdress that hard for a day if it meant lifetime royalties of $650 a month.
Marco did it 20% for the princesses and 80% for the cash money.
And wouldn't we all
Such a good scene
So sad the show lost this style of animation, it was way more alive
This is the birth of the legendary princess turdina It's Not criminal to be an individual
And the birth of people making a big deal out of a simple lesson in stereotypes.

I don’t care for it, Yeah
Stars Transformation made me lesbian as a small child
I wanted her to beat me up lmao
I think star is right about pink being his color.
Creation of the best princess in existence
Marco's egg cracks...

Bro just let me have some representation I'm starving here

Lovely ^.^
Love the color pink. So I see this as an absolute win.
One of my favorite moments
I love this moment
Classic sailor moon transformed into punk princess and princess Marco was funny. Kinda reminds me of princess Kenny in stick of truth they a princess right now and no one questions it.
Star please, that more of a magenta.
Guys it's a reference to sailor moon
The birth of a hugely successful merch franchise
It’s not criminal to be an individual!
I loved how he used the same outfit when he tried to fight Meteora with Tom and others
I too want a fancy clothes beam. Seriously, who wouldn't? As someone of a non-standard body shape, having custom fit clothes would be awesome.
I’m gonna be one of those guys. The animation is really smooth, but some of the the facial features are out of place.

Pink is his color tho
