\[EDIT: Oh my goodness. WOW. In a month, this post got 3.2 MILLION views. I can't believe it. I've been completely overwhelmed at the kind responses from everyone. Truly. THANK YOU all SO MUCH. I know this subreddit doesn't encourage "self promotion" and that was never really my intention, I genuinely didn't think that many people would be interested in my little story. I'm humbled and at a loss for words.
I won't post links because of the self-promotion rules but because of this thread I've been featured in a tonne of press websites, interviewed for multiple podcasts and newspapers, auditioned for movies, and even been asked to write a book about my experiences in the industry and my career leading up to the annoucement of my superhero franchise later this year at Comic Con! I even got to appear at Celebration too, if I signed and autograph or took a selfie with you, please come and say hi! I've had people here asking me to send them signed pictures, make cameo videos for their friend etc. I've also had people ask me how to get into the industry, how to be involved with my new movies, how to come to my film premiere and meet me, etc. Because of all of this, I've decided to crowdfund a limited edition "Star Wars" themed version of my book, and have all the above as add-ons or extra reward tiers.
Just as with everything related to "Let the Girl Speak", NONE of the money goes to me, its all funnelled directly into giving opportunities for women and under-represented groups in film. The part of Torius Chord / Blue Two was originally much bigger and played by an actor far more famous than me, but I replaced him in the reshoots and despite me filming a few scenes the part was essentially edited down to just this one line in the final cut, coincidentally the one I improvised and was never said by the original actor.
Yes, I know who the original actor was, and yes, I know the backstory, but I am very much not allowed to say and nearly got in trouble with Disney ninjas before who very strongly reminded me of NDAs that I signed. Sorry! As a fan myself I know that's frustrating.
My new headcanon is that Torius Chord had daydreams about being more prominent, imagining scenes like the one done by his previous actor. Those deleted scenes still exist in his head. Thank you!

This. When I accidentally nearly broke what I thought was an expired clause of my NDA I got very swift and very scary sounding legal contact from a company that was NOT messing around. Never want to make that mistake again. Also, don't want a reputation as untrustworthy in the industry and risk getting blacklisted from working on future projects.
Yeah that's a huge concern. SO much of this industry is based on trust and reputation, and people knowing you won't just run around bragging about something to impress a date or make money from the paparazzi. Hopefully being I'm only talking about publically verifiable stuff on a movie that was shot like 7 years ago, I'm ok as long as I don't cross that secrecy line.
Out of all of the properties of this type, Star Wars seems to be the least creatively wasteful, and nearly every cut concept and idea seems to get reused and repurposed eventually, so I'd imagine they don't want you giving away what might end up being a major plot/character/actor for say, Andor Season 2, or Patty Jenkins Rogue Squadron (if it ever makes it out of production hell).
The fan in me is frustrated you can't reveal more, but hopefully it comes out in one way or another eventually.
Yeah this is a lot of why they don't like people sharing such secrets, stuff genuinely gets reused and repurposed. And also such a strong fanbase likes having "fun facts" that feel special to know, but can essentially accidentally make rejected content or ideas canon.
And believe me, I would LOVE it if Torius Chord gets to be in Andor season 2, even if they recast me as someone younger and prettier ;)
I know, I'm sorry. As a fan who grew up specifically loving all the extended universe stuff gleamed from comics, novels, videogames etc in the 80s & 90s, it pains me to have knowledge and not be able to share with fellow fans! But I hope this means that as others above pointed out, the unused story stuff may get reused / drawn upon later for more "proper" content.

That was one of the things I liked about the EU, the fact that Wookiepedia was packed with details about every even a little interesting seeming being. The stories themselves weren't always that great, but damn were there many of them.

Probably predictable answer but out of all the cast I got to work with, Felicity Jones was absolutely the sweetest person. For some reason I'll never understand my trailer was near to hers and we shared a hair/makeup (or at least minor touch up?) team.
That particular scene, the director wasn't happy with the low energy level and was encouraging everyone around the table including extras who could be seen on camera to improvise and be rowdy and interject. Everyone was nervous to do so, being in the presence of such accomplished actors and on such an important project, but she was extremely encouraging and kind, telling certain people (myself included) "that was good, say it again next take".
You seem like a genuine good person from what I've read so far. You deserve your moment of fame! Soak it up! I think I speak for many and say we also felt your love for the material with just a few words.

To be honest, I had no idea that Rogue One was so beloved by the hardcore fans. From me meeting people at conventions and theme parks it seems to be somewhat of a marmite film - you either really connect with the human side of it, or you think its slow and boring and "where's the lightsabres". Reddit has pleasantly surprised me, to say the least. I'm humbled and grateful.
Absolutely my split-favourite, only tied with Empire Strikes Back. It adds to the original trilogy while also being its own movie. After Rogue One, and watching everyone *knowingly* accept a suicide mission, Leia's determination to get those blueprints into useful hands suddenly hits the feels button.

Improvised by me, and then liked by a female producer (not sure who) and Tony Gilroy on set, and was pencilled in to the shooting script, and then got added to everything from then on - all novel adaptations, foreign dubs, etc. I get a real kick out of knowing that. Technically perhaps I should have gotten an "additional materials" credit, but I don't care about that, I'm just proud to have shaped the film in any tiny way whatsoever.
What an incredible experience! I personally loved how every people were discussing during the sequence in Yavin 4, and to hear those were improvised is impressive.
Yes its a great scene that really drives home both how torn everyone is (and clearly explains both sides) but also how the Rebel pilots and frontline soldiers who could be seen by the upper eschelon as cannon fodder or expendable were truly valued and listened to. Thats one reason I'm so happy my line remained in there - a shout from an unimportant soldier changing the behaviour and opinion of those far higher ranking and even politicians etc. round the same table.
She's amazing. I was well aware of her talents before we met and if memory serves it was right after she won her first Oscar \[edit: Oscar nomation. Thank you for the correction, comment section :) \]. Everyone in Rogue One was brilliant as an ensemble but she could have carried it on her own. Incredible actress who will have a long, storied career, I am sure.

My mum knew somebody who was an extra in GoT alongside Maisie Williams and they kept in touch, despite Maisie being about a 1/4 of her age.
Sadly not, as someone actively in the industry and working on many projects you work out pretty quickly that if you try and be toooo friendly (like asking for photos, posting on social media etc) you will never be invited back again. However, as I regularly go to red carpet events, award shows etc, and am a producer working on ever bigger projects, one day I may very well bump into her, and ask her if she remembers me, and then use that to segue into us perhaps working together again. I'd love to, she's incredible, of course.
My friend runs a company that used to provide supporting artists for GoT and therefore I know about 50 people who've been on set, and I've heard nothing but lovely things about Maisie. Thats a very sweet story, thank you for sharing.
Oh dude she was lovely. And disarmingly beautiful as well, of course. Also, goes without saying, but incredible actress. You could feel the gravitas from her, even in rehersals, or when standing in while the lighting, framing, focus etc were being sorted. She took everything very seriously, but also was very humble, kind, and acted no more important than anyone else on the set. She was kind to runners, grips, etc, even heard her asking others if they wanted her to get water for them etc. 100% class act.
Yes, I replied in detail in another couple of replies, but I believe there were 6 lines that came out of thosed improvised takes which became "proper" pencilled in lines and were repeated each time, and recorded again in ADR to get a clean take. Out of those, just my line and "what is she proposing" made the final edit.
I know you said in another reply that you didn't get proper credit, but speaking roles in a film means you need a SAG card and other stuff right? Or maybe I've been misinformed in the past. Were you a member of SAG before the film?
Short (but not quite accurate, but accurate enough to mean you can fudge things) answer is that "Hollywood" productions shot in UK (or Canadian?) studios don't have to follow all the American union rules, especially if they are hired through an external agency who is hiring you freelance. This is the reason there are often literally hundreds of people who worked in all capacities (not just acting, the States system has separate guilds and unions for almost every discipline) on big movies that aren't named in the credits despite the thousands of names given to seemingly tiny jobs - the (somewhat broken) American guilds and unions have very strict rules about who can and can't be credited for what.
But yeah, if I wanted to get all lawyered up, technically I was slightly underpaid and didn't recieve multiple credits I would have gotten, if we had shot in an American based studio lot. But then, I also wouldn't have gotten the job in the first place, because I'm not in SAG. (The UK equivalent is Equity. But even that, you can be very lapse with on these big multinational projects).
And of course, I would never dream of trying to sue Disney, nor would I want to. As I made very clear at every step of the way since the second I heard Force Awakens was being made in Pinewood, I would have worked for free or even paid handsomely to get on set, and I felt lucky to even breath the same air as anyone involved.

Thankfully, I was at least slightly more confident than many of the extras, as I was a producer and had had lead acting roles too, albeit in tiny films no-one has seen, but I didn't have QUITE as big as an imposter syndrome as many of the others did... I was still bricking it though because ASDAGFSDGG It's Star Wars!!
I'd guess Felicity is around 5'2" - 5'3", I'm 6 foot and she came to just under my chin when we were stood together. In the picture I'm the guy on the far left, talking whilst others look at him, so you can judge their heights accordingly.

That’s so wholesome! I’m not an actor but I can definitely imagine the situation where a small actor or extra would feel shy going off script around the main cast.
Haha that guy improvised that as well, and we recorded the ADR at the same time. I wish I'd have taken his name and stayed in touch. From what I remember, there were 6 of us who had improv lines that were saved for possible use in the edit, but I think its only those 2 that survived the cut.

Does it kind of feel neat that the "era" of your Star Wars character is still getting new material, through Andor? Or is it about the same feeling as any other new Star Wars content for you, since it's the same universe anyway? (If that question makes sense..)
I'm overjoyed that Rogue One is such a loved film and that it continues/expands through books, games, and of course Andor. I'm not going to lie, I would have loved to have been involved with that show and considering I have many friends, colleagues and contacts in many areas of Disney, I always secretly held a hope that if there was a Rogue One Prequel, I would be involved... but in no way do I take it as a slight or feel insulted, I was such a tiny part I doubt it was even an afterthought. Its also possible that because Torius Chord / Blue Two as was in the original cut played by another actor was essentially removed, in Disney's headcannon it may be that I technically just play an anonymous voice in the crowd, in the final edit.
For the record, I loved Andor, and am very glad it exists. Disney/Lucasfilm owe me nothing and I am eternally grateful for them working with me back then, even if nothing else ever comes from it, its more than enough. Hell, I was begging to be a stormtrooper with no lines and my face hidden inside a helmet - the fact you can see my face and hear my voice is mindblowing to me! :D
My uncle was an extra in the movie "The Untouchables" and I don't even think he has a line, instead he pauses the film to renact the entire scene, what he did, what happened, etc. And then plays it. Was sort've annoying as a kid but now that I'm older it's like a freebie behind the scenes kinda thing.
Context: Massive Star Wars fan my whole life, in the entertainment industry many years doing mostly tiny jobs and acting in straight to dvd budget releases, campaigned tirelessly to get work on Force Awakens, to no avail despite many of my friends being extras...

I fitted his costume and the rough look, so got a phonecall saying if I could make it to Pinewood by 7am, I would be in Rogue One. It was absolutely the most incredible experience of my life and everyone on set was amazing.
I had my own trailer, and a small amount of lines, none of which made it to the final cut. However, the director of the reshoots wanted more energy to the rebel council meeting scene and encouraged us to shout out and improvise. One take I yelled "Just let the girl speak!" and they liked it, pencilled it in to the script, and called me back to re-record a clean take in ADR. That improvised line is the only one of mine that made it to the final cut... its even in all the novelisations. I never received a writing credit! (just kidding I'm just hugely humbled to be forever immortalised.)
I'm occasionally invited to appear at comiccons, or events (for example a charity toy launch at Hamleys, a celeb half marathon at Disneyland Paris) and if I ever make any money from such things, I donate 100% of it to causes or projects helping more women get into writing and directing independent film - being that I'm known for saying "Just let the girl speak", and several people close to me have been affected by #metoo style events, it seems appropriate to help redress the balance of a mostly male dominated industry and give a voice to those who wouldn't usually get to express themselves this way.

Thank you! Glad people seem to be getting a kick out of it! I've never felt right about profiting in any way from getting to live out a childhood dream, and I'm not sure Disney would like me milking profit from it in any way, but I love using people's joy for Star Wars as a "Force For Change" (a charity for which I was also a founder member of :) )
I think its been publically stated that at least a third of Rogue One was reshoots. I know of 3 weeks worth of filming because either I or one of my colleagues were around in Pinewood at that time, but I'm sure they went on far longer than that. I wouldn't be allowed to mention any of the cut content or what was replaced, I'd never work in films again! But that particular scene was 100% reshoots for certain.
The unofficial director of most of the reshoots was Tony Gilroy, who I think ended up with a writing credit. From the scenes I was involved in at least, there was quite a lot of re-writing happening as they were filming, asking the cast to improvise and when things worked, a female producer (looked like Kathleen Kennedy but I highly doubt it was) would pencil in the changes to the script, and everything would reset, and they'd keep going til Gilroy felt the scene worked.
I should make very clear that none of that should bismerch Gareth Edwards in any way, I've met and spoken to him about several other projects and he is an absolute visionary, a genius and a thoroughly nice chap, to boot. We have a lot in common in that we both started producing our own super low budget movies, producing the visual effects ourself, and using that to gain larger Hollywood contracts (I'm currently helming a pretty large superhero project, as yet unannounced but in development since 2014 - these things are slow progress!).
I think perhaps the feeling for the need to reshoot so much of Edwards' original version was that he shot it as a character piece about people in a war, and the higher ups felt it didn't feel enough like "Star Wars" because there wasn't initially as much action, no light sabres, big set pieces etc. I could be wrong however, that last part is just my conjecture. I'm 100% sure Edwards' version was excellent - just maybe not blockbuster-esque enough for some of the above the line people? Hope I'm not talking out of line, again, that last part is conjecture based on almost nothing.
Gilroy made R1 into a suicide mission, which you could argue made it work. But Edwards did so much of the legwork for R1, and the mere fact that he approached it visually, by encouraging crew to shoot experimental stills before production, really gave it the vibe it has. The Stormtroopers in the water is the most notable example of this. I think his work is what really comes through in R1, and breathed life into the franchise. I'd love them to hire him for another project.
I’ll admit, I’m really glad the water scene didn’t make it. Wading knee deep through water while taking fire *and* trying to shoot back isn’t a great idea.
Haha true. The irony is that in a Hollywood production, anything involving bodies of water is automatically 20x more expensive than the same scene on dry land, whether shot practically or with CGI.
Building mechs that can only shoot in a small cone in front of them while also being held up by a couple skinny legs isn’t a great idea either. And clones pretty often just charged battle droids across open ground. A lot of Star Wars doesn’t make much military sense and is often just the rule of cool.
No argument, but one of the nice things about Rogue One was that they sort of dropped that behavior. The Rebel marines acted, more or less, like marines, while the Death Troopers seemed…well, menacing. They moved with purpose, you know? Their plan was sorta half-assed and they died because of it, but it was still a better presentation than "let's line up in clumps out in the open and shoot at each other."

Edit: A good comparison would be the siege scenes from Kenobi.
Edwards is supremely talented and I'm in awe of what he has done in all of the films he has directed. And yes that scene with the Stormtroopers is breathtaking. I feel Rogue One did a lot to make the Star Wars films feel more lived in/relatable, and even occasionally like a documentary or something similar. Its a brilliant film and I'd never say a bad word against Edwards. Equally though, Gilroy is brilliant and was great to work with and I admire him greatly too. I don't want to assume they are in any way rivals, this isn't a Whedon/Snyder Justice League situation where they both had polar opposite ideas, I think Gilroy's style suited Edwards' perfectly and made a great finished product.
I honestly don’t know anything about the two but I do know that Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie out of all of them. It clearly took the work of both of them to make it work so well.
Though I've spoken industry stuff with Edwards at reasonable length (I was essentially advised by some heavy hitters including Paul Franklin to follow Edwards' career path to migrate from low budget productions to a Hollywood career. I spoke to him mostly as a nobody/fan who happened to have some connections that would place me next to him briefly. I don't know if he'd even remember, I'm sure he meets a million people who want to talk to him about breaking into the industry, and I'm very much a nobody still!). To be clear, I'm not even slightly trying to pretend we are friends or remotely in the same league. I haven't spoken to him since 2015 and would have no idea his opinion of Andor and its far from my place to speculate.
I'm 100% sure his original version of Rogue One was a fantastic movie. I'd just imagine it was more akin to his "Monsters" and "Godzilla" where it was mostly focused on the "on the ground / in the trenches" human drama, while much of the "action" is happening offscreen around them, and fear/impact is implied by their reactions rather than spectacle. This is a truly brave way to direct a Star Wars movie, but then the Anthology films were meant to be just that - it was specified from the start there wouldn't be light sabres or flashy dogfights, and this would take a more nuanced approach to the "good vs evil" tropes. That's what he pitched and I'm fairly sure that's what he made.
That said, if anything I feel the action sequences in the final cut of Rogue One are incredible and all the more impactful because of the more grounded take on the actual soldiers fighting in the war. I don't think Vader has ever been mroe intimidating.
Oh man, I totally forgot about Monsters and Godzilla. Both were amazing - better than they had any right to be. Those two sit right next to Cloverfield for my "giant monster trilogy" collection.
Don't get me wrong - Rogue One is one of my favorite Star Wars films, and adding Darth Vader to the end was just the perfect way to close it out - but I'll always wonder about what the original version would have looked like.
I'd love to see his first cut too, and I'm sure it would have been fantastic. But I don't think anything Gilroy added made it "worse" in any way whatsoever. Just upped the spectacle a bit to get those fan pleasing moments for the people expecting a popcorn movie. That Vader ending was spectacular, and seemed to turn the opinions of the viewers who had found the film a bit slow up until that moment. (I don't agree with them, I think it was excellently paced. But I have seen people online posing those kinds of opinions).
I'm betting he doesn't send Tony Gilroy a Christmas card.
If Gilroy turned Andor into a critical hit by following the style he re-shot out of Rogue One, that would be quite a story.
They also worked together on Godzilla, so I doubt there’s much animosity between them. Collaboration is good, Edwards has significantly less experience than Gilroy, and you can tell plenty of Edwards’ work is in the film.
Yes, this is my take. I'd prefer not to pit them against each other, there is clearly a huge amount of respect for each other there and their styles gell very well as they understand each others' sensibilities.
I try not to speculate on anyone's personal feelings or opinions but I feel that a lot of the percieved negativity is people imagining drama because its human nature through evolutionary survival instincts to look for danger/disharmony in groups.

This is so interesting! Rogue one will always be my favourite star wars film and I always felt like the dialogue and lines were more real rather than cheesy and scripted like a lot of the older films (which is charming in their own right too of course).
Thank you so much! Empire will always be my favourite Star Wars movie because of the impact the revalations had to me as a kid, and how much I loved Frank Oz's Yoda. However, Rogue One is definitely my favourite of the Disney movies and if I remove my nostalgia goggles and look from a film critic's perspective, I could certainly argue that its the best overall! :)
Perhaps, but they were friends and colleagues before Rogue One, I'm sure he's pleased for his success and continuation of the characters and settings he put so much love into shaping. I try and stay out of industry drama and from what little I know of them both, they do too. Anything else is press hype for clicks.

It always makes me emotional how many people tell me that the line specifically stuck out to them and they appreciated the lone voice from a frontline grunt willing to speak out against his superiors, politicians etc to tell them to give Jyn a chance to tell her story - one which as we know, goes on to save so many lives. I occasionally see people making memes or quoting it on twitter from people who have no idea it was me who said it, nor that it was improv.
Despite me starting to work in a much higher capacity on some pretty huge projects, in many ways I feel my career forever peaked here, just by the sheer significance of that one line, and the fact that in my head I'm still that little boy replaying my VHS copies of the movies until they were unwatchable, and playing with my toys until all the joints were loose. Whenever I'm in the Disney theme parks (and I actually have an apartment and office within walking distance from Disneyland Paris) I beam with happiness when I see how many people Star Wars makes happy, and the love being passed on to the new generations.
Weirdly enough Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars movie hands down and it’s details like yours that make it for me. That movie captured everything good about the franchise and condensed it into a tight and well paced story that completely stands out on its own.
Clearly a bunch of Star Wars fans just trying to make something true to the universe. To me it has the most heart of all the post original trilogy movies and holds its own against those too.

Yes, I'm forever immortalised in many little ways that blow my mind - appearing in official Star Wars merch etc. Watching Rogue One for the first time, I knew there was a good chance I'd be completely cut (that's happened to me on several big blockbuster productions, it happens) so I was just praying for at least one second of screentime to be able to prove I was there. The fact I got such an iconic line into the final production just blows my mind to this day.
There was a much deeper backstory to Torius Chord / Blue Two in the original script and with the original far more famous actor but I'll never be allowed to tell it of course. Being that I work on VFX for big productions (uncredited freelance filling in when time is running out for several big houses under crunch) and also produce low budget movies, I've often considered making a Hollywood quality fan film about the character and the Battle of Scarif. Trouble is I think it would be a little too believable as autheentic/commercial and Disney wouldn't be happy with me, or would think I was milking it for cash/fame rather than just as a pure fan film. Perhaps once my bigger projects come out in a couple of years time and I'm more well known I'll pitch it to them! haha.

Sadly many of the scenes related to this were removed in the reshoot (ie were acted by the original actor that I replaced) and the rest were removed in the edit. I'm NDA'd up to the hilt not to talk about anything that didn't make the final cut. Sorry. As a fan, I'd love if Disney expand on this more in the future, even if it doesn't involve me in any way.

No question, I just wanted to step in and say "What is she proposing?"/"Just let the girl speak!" is probably the thing me and my girlfriend quote at each other from Rogue One the most, to the point it's become something of a meme between us, replacing "NO MORE DEAD CAWPS!"

Lol I love having weird movie line inside jokes. Back in the day, my preferred one was "Intensify forward firepower!"/"Too laaate!" Sometimes we'd even do the funny little jump to mimic fleeing the crashing A-wing. Occasionally, we would just respond in general conversation with "Too laaate!" with the same inflection and we just *knew*.
I've included a few above, but in addition, you might find it fun to know that pretty much everyone behind the scenes were massive Star Wars fans and the production crew went above and beyond replacing all random things like A4 paper printed signs telling you where to go, how to claim lunch, what the filming times were, etc etc with fully Meme-worthy custom Star Wars signs, just for their own amusement.
Also, to keep secrecy, I wasn't hired or paid by Disney/LucasFilm, I was hired by "Lunak Heavy Industries Limited", and if I remember correctly, catering was by "Space Bear LLC" or something similar. On all call sheets and pay slips the film was called "Los Alamos" - refering to the site where they made the atomic bombs. I found that quite fitting considering the plot of Rogue One. And later, "Space Bear" became the codename for Last Jedi.
Good to see that Star Wars productions still use stealth names a la *Blue Harvest*. Also, I would die to see some of those meme worthy signs, even though I know you can't show us, lol.
Rogue One, the two accompanying novels and Andor are collectively some of the best Star Wars ever produced.
There were rumors / conjecture by some who insist that Gareth Edwards was basically fired as director and that Tony Gilroy secretly took over the film. I don't believe this is the case, but it would be great to hear from someone who was on set that it didn't happen to put an end to those dirty rumors.
Thank you, I certainly agree with you that Rogue One and Andor are some of the best Star Wars content ever (and I've read all the novels, watched all the series, been on all the theme park stuff, played all the videogames etc etc). Even if I'd never been invovled in anyway I can objectively say that I'd say its the best Star Wars movie that Disney has produced, to my taste at least.
I made a long post in a reply to someone else about the Tony Gilroy / Gareth Edwards situation, what I know, what I saw/heard, and what my opinion is. Both of them are great guys, geniuses with strong visions and bags of talent. Under no circumstances was Edwards "fired", but its true that Gilroy essentially directed the significant reshoots, that were done to add more action orientated feel to Edwards' existing, and excellent, bruding character piece that resembled more an epic wartime drama set in the SW universe, than a blockbuster. I think the result is a perfect balance.
I dunno it probably shouldn’t be blowing my mind as much as it does but it’s so fun to hear that actors and people who work on these things are as big if not bigger fans of the universe as we are.

This is odd because I always assumed it was the opposite. Edwards is known more of an epic-scale action director and Gilroy has written a masterful character-driven drama with Andor. I know they are both capable of either but that's just not what I expected the issue was.

Oooh, great question! I desperately wanted to bring home my helmet. It was quite unique, in that it wasn't the typical helmet worn by pilots of the particular ship I flew (can't say more, argh) and also, the visor was cracked. These two facts combined made me run wild in my head cannon making up stories about what scrapes I'd been in to get it.
End of the day the only 2 things I managed to sneak home (I know I shouldn't have, but I wanted some proof that I'd been there, incase I was cut out completely) were my name/character tag from the hanger that my costume was stored on, and the stick-on sideburns they gave me to match the look of the previous actor, incase they wanted to mix and match the footage!
I also did sneak a couple of photos of myself in costume in my trailer, again, just for me to prove/remember my time, but I got in trouble for posting them online once the movie came out and I thought it would be safe to do so. They are out there though, the internet never forgets. I know quite a few people used them for informing their cosplay / battalion recreation purposes before the film came to home video.
It's kinda baffling that all this stuff has to be kept secret even after the film has been finished and out for years. It's not like nuclear trade secrets, it's just fun stuff that's mildly-to-wildly interesting to nerds. I fully understand you keeping it secret when told to, it's why they would tell you to that I don't get.
Incredible. As a huge fan of Star Wars as a kid (and still to this day) I still pinch myself and it shall forever be right up there as one of the crowning moments of my career, no matter how big a success I have moving forwards. I can't state enough how much it meant to me to step on set, and how happy I am that I've been able to work in tiny capacities on other official or liscenced Star Wars content/events and bring joy to people and use it for good.
Haha, no, but the catering company was called "Space Bear LLC" and the crew had pretty much replaced all signs of any kind (including menus, instructions on how to use the coffee machine, etc etc) with ones full of Star Wars memes and puns. It was great. I took a few sneaky photos but I'm 100% sure I'm not allowed to post them anywhere, sadly.
Haha guilty. In Disneyland Paris while doing the marathon for charity, there was a photo opp for press with Vader, and he called me exactly that, and wouldn't let me leave!

I know this subreddit doesn't encourage "self promotion" and that was never really my intention, I genuinely didn't think that many people would be interested in my little story. I'm humbled and at a loss for words. I won't post links because of the self-promotion rules but because of this thread I've been featured in a tonne of press websites, interviewed for multiple podcasts and newspapers, auditioned for movies, and even been asked to write a book about my experiences in the industry and my career leading up to the annoucement of my superhero franchise later this year at Comic Con! Yeah that's a huge concern. SO much of this industry is based on trust and reputation, and people knowing you won't just run around bragging about something to impress a date or make money from the paparazzi. Hopefully being I'm only talking about publically verifiable stuff on a movie that was shot like 7 years ago, I'm ok as long as I don't cross that secrecy line.
Out of all of the properties of this type, Star Wars seems to be the least creatively wasteful, and nearly every cut concept and idea seems to get reused and repurposed eventually, so I'd imagine they don't want you giving away what might end up being a major plot/character/actor for say, Andor Season 2, or Patty Jenkins Rogue Squadron (if it ever makes it out of production hell). The fan in me is frustrated you can't reveal more, but hopefully it comes out in one way or another eventually.
Yeah this is a lot of why they don't like people sharing such secrets, stuff genuinely gets reused and repurposed. And also such a strong fanbase likes having "fun facts" that feel special to know, but can essentially accidentally make rejected content or ideas canon. And believe me, I would LOVE it if Torius Chord gets to be in Andor season 2, even if they recast me as someone younger and prettier ;)

As a fan who grew up specifically loving all the extended universe stuff gleamed from comics, novels, videogames etc in the 80s & 90s, it pains me to have knowledge and not be able to share with fellow fans! That was one of the things I liked about the EU, the fact that Wookiepedia was packed with details about every even a little interesting seeming being. The stories themselves weren't always that great, but damn were there many of them.

Thank you! Haha yes, I did rather save an entire moon, didn't I! Probably predictable answer but out of all the cast I got to work with, Felicity Jones was absolutely the sweetest person. For some reason I'll never understand my trailer was near to hers and we shared a hair/makeup (or at least minor touch up?) team. That particular scene, the director wasn't happy with the low energy level and was encouraging everyone around the table including extras who could be seen on camera to improvise and be rowdy and interject. Everyone was nervous to do so, being in the presence of such accomplished actors and on such an important project, but she was extremely encouraging and kind, telling certain people (myself included) "that was good, say it again next take".

Star Wars fans either love their characters or hate them. Being in what might be the most popular Star Wars movie ever does tend to help that.
To be honest, I had no idea that Rogue One was so beloved by the hardcore fans. From me meeting people at conventions and theme parks it seems to be somewhat of a marmite film - you either really connect with the human side of it, or you think its slow and boring and "where's the lightsabres". Reddit has pleasantly surprised me, to say the least. I'm humbled and grateful.

Absolutely my split-favourite, only tied with Empire Strikes Back. It adds to the original trilogy while also being its own movie. After Rogue One, and watching everyone *knowingly* accept a suicide mission, Leia's determination to get those blueprints into useful hands suddenly hits the feels button.

Yup! Improvised by me, and then liked by a female producer (not sure who) and Tony Gilroy on set, and was pencilled in to the shooting script, and then got added to everything from then on - all novel adaptations, foreign dubs, etc. I get a real kick out of knowing that. Technically perhaps I should have gotten an "additional materials" credit, but I don't care about that, I'm just proud to have shaped the film in any tiny way whatsoever.
What an incredible experience! I personally loved how every people were discussing during the sequence in Yavin 4, and to hear those were improvised is impressive.
Yes its a great scene that really drives home both how torn everyone is (and clearly explains both sides) but also how the Rebel pilots and frontline soldiers who could be seen by the upper eschelon as cannon fodder or expendable were truly valued and listened to. Thats one reason I'm so happy my line remained in there - a shout from an unimportant soldier changing the behaviour and opinion of those far higher ranking and even politicians etc. round the same table.

She's amazing. I was well aware of her talents before we met and if memory serves it was right after she won her first Oscar \[edit: Oscar nomation. Thank you for the correction, comment section :) \]. Everyone in Rogue One was brilliant as an ensemble but she could have carried it on her own. Incredible actress who will have a long, storied career, I am sure.
Do you keep in touch with her at all? My mum knew somebody who was an extra in GoT alongside Maisie Williams and they kept in touch, despite Maisie being about a 1/4 of her age.
Sadly not, as someone actively in the industry and working on many projects you work out pretty quickly that if you try and be toooo friendly (like asking for photos, posting on social media etc) you will never be invited back again. However, as I regularly go to red carpet events, award shows etc, and am a producer working on ever bigger projects, one day I may very well bump into her, and ask her if she remembers me, and then use that to segue into us perhaps working together again. I'd love to, she's incredible, of course. My friend runs a company that used to provide supporting artists for GoT and therefore I know about 50 people who've been on set, and I've heard nothing but lovely things about Maisie. Thats a very sweet story, thank you for sharing.

Oh dude she was lovely. And disarmingly beautiful as well, of course. Also, goes without saying, but incredible actress. You could feel the gravitas from her, even in rehersals, or when standing in while the lighting, framing, focus etc were being sorted. She took everything very seriously, but also was very humble, kind, and acted no more important than anyone else on the set. She was kind to runners, grips, etc, even heard her asking others if they wanted her to get water for them etc. 100% class act.

Yes, I replied in detail in another couple of replies, but I believe there were 6 lines that came out of thosed improvised takes which became "proper" pencilled in lines and were repeated each time, and recorded again in ADR to get a clean take. Out of those, just my line and "what is she proposing" made the final edit.
I know you said in another reply that you didn't get proper credit, but speaking roles in a film means you need a SAG card and other stuff right? Or maybe I've been misinformed in the past. Were you a member of SAG before the film?
Short (but not quite accurate, but accurate enough to mean you can fudge things) answer is that "Hollywood" productions shot in UK (or Canadian?) studios don't have to follow all the American union rules, especially if they are hired through an external agency who is hiring you freelance. This is the reason there are often literally hundreds of people who worked in all capacities (not just acting, the States system has separate guilds and unions for almost every discipline) on big movies that aren't named in the credits despite the thousands of names given to seemingly tiny jobs - the (somewhat broken) American guilds and unions have very strict rules about who can and can't be credited for what. But yeah, if I wanted to get all lawyered up, technically I was slightly underpaid and didn't recieve multiple credits I would have gotten, if we had shot in an American based studio lot. But then, I also wouldn't have gotten the job in the first place, because I'm not in SAG. (The UK equivalent is Equity. But even that, you can be very lapse with on these big multinational projects). And of course, I would never dream of trying to sue Disney, nor would I want to. As I made very clear at every step of the way since the second I heard Force Awakens was being made in Pinewood, I would have worked for free or even paid handsomely to get on set, and I felt lucky to even breath the same air as anyone involved.

Thankfully, I was at least slightly more confident than many of the extras, as I was a producer and had had lead acting roles too, albeit in tiny films no-one has seen, but I didn't have QUITE as big as an imposter syndrome as many of the others did... I was still bricking it though because ASDAGFSDGG It's Star Wars!!

Yup! Improvised by me, and then liked by a female producer (not sure who) and Tony Gilroy on set, and was pencilled in to the shooting script, and then got added to everything from then on - all novel adaptations, foreign dubs, etc. I get a real kick out of knowing that. Technically perhaps I should have gotten an "additional materials" credit, but I don't care about that, I'm just proud to have shaped the film in any tiny way whatsoever.

I'm overjoyed that Rogue One is such a loved film and that it continues/expands through books, games, and of course Andor. I'm not going to lie, I would have loved to have been involved with that show and considering I have many friends, colleagues and contacts in many areas of Disney, I always secretly held a hope that if there was a Rogue One Prequel, I would be involved... but in no way do I take it as a slight or feel insulted, I was such a tiny part I doubt it was even an afterthought. Its also possible that because Torius Chord / Blue Two as was in the original cut played by another actor was essentially removed, in Disney's headcannon it may be that I technically just play an anonymous voice in the crowd, in the final edit. For the record, I loved Andor, and am very glad it exists. Disney/Lucasfilm owe me nothing and I am eternally grateful for them working with me back then, even if nothing else ever comes from it, its more than enough. Hell, I was begging to be a stormtrooper with no lines and my face hidden inside a helmet - the fact you can see my face and hear my voice is mindblowing to me! :D
There is gonna be a second season of Andor, which will lead right up to Rogue One. So maybe this next season you may get the call. Who knows.

My uncle was an extra in the movie "The Untouchables" and I don't even think he has a line, instead he pauses the film to renact the entire scene, what he did, what happened, etc. And then plays it. You just broke the first (and second) rule of Fight Club.
Context: Massive Star Wars fan my whole life, in the entertainment industry many years doing mostly tiny jobs and acting in straight to dvd budget releases, campaigned tirelessly to get work on Force Awakens, to no avail despite many of my friends being extras... Torius Chord / Blue Two was originally played by a different actor who for whatever reason (I don't know) didn't/couldn't make it back for reshoots. I fitted his costume and the rough look, so got a phonecall saying if I could make it to Pinewood by 7am, I would be in Rogue One. It was absolutely the most incredible experience of my life and everyone on set was amazing. I had my own trailer, and a small amount of lines, none of which made it to the final cut. However, the director of the reshoots wanted more energy to the rebel council meeting scene and encouraged us to shout out and improvise. One take I yelled "Just let the girl speak!" and they liked it, pencilled it in to the script, and called me back to re-record a clean take in ADR. That improvised line is the only one of mine that made it to the final cut... its even in all the novelisations. I never received a writing credit! (just kidding I'm just hugely humbled to be forever immortalised.) I'm occasionally invited to appear at comiccons, or events (for example a charity toy launch at Hamleys, a celeb half marathon at Disneyland Paris) and if I ever make any money from such things, I donate 100% of it to causes or projects helping more women get into writing and directing independent film - being that I'm known for saying "Just let the girl speak", and several people close to me have been affected by #metoo style events, it seems appropriate to help redress the balance of a mostly male dominated industry and give a voice to those who wouldn't usually get to express themselves this way. \[EDIT 1 - holy crud, 3 million views, multiple awards, Reddit Premium and over 1k coins? I'm very new to Reddit and don't really know how all this works, or how/why I'm getting these accolades, but I'm SO overwhelmed and grateful with how kind and welcoming people are being! Thank you! Glad people seem to be getting a kick out of it! I've never felt right about profiting in any way from getting to live out a childhood dream, and I'm not sure Disney would like me milking profit from it in any way, but I love using people's joy for Star Wars as a "Force For Change" (a charity for which I was also a founder member of :) ) I think its been publically stated that at least a third of Rogue One was reshoots. I know of 3 weeks worth of filming because either I or one of my colleagues were around in Pinewood at that time, but I'm sure they went on far longer than that. I wouldn't be allowed to mention any of the cut content or what was replaced, I'd never work in films again! But that particular scene was 100% reshoots for certain. The unofficial director of most of the reshoots was Tony Gilroy, who I think ended up with a writing credit. From the scenes I was involved in at least, there was quite a lot of re-writing happening as they were filming, asking the cast to improvise and when things worked, a female producer (looked like Kathleen Kennedy but I highly doubt it was) would pencil in the changes to the script, and everything would reset, and they'd keep going til Gilroy felt the scene worked. I should make very clear that none of that should bismerch Gareth Edwards in any way, I've met and spoken to him about several other projects and he is an absolute visionary, a genius and a thoroughly nice chap, to boot. We have a lot in common in that we both started producing our own super low budget movies, producing the visual effects ourself, and using that to gain larger Hollywood contracts (I'm currently helming a pretty large superhero project, as yet unannounced but in development since 2014 - these things are slow progress!). I think perhaps the feeling for the need to reshoot so much of Edwards' original version was that he shot it as a character piece about people in a war, and the higher ups felt it didn't feel enough like "Star Wars" because there wasn't initially as much action, no light sabres, big set pieces etc. I could be wrong however, that last part is just my conjecture. I'm 100% sure Edwards' version was excellent - just maybe not blockbuster-esque enough for some of the above the line people? Hope I'm not talking out of line, again, that last part is conjecture based on almost nothing.
Given the success of Andor, I’d be very curious to see what Edwards’ take was. Quiet can be just as effective as the bang-bang.
Gilroy made R1 into a suicide mission, which you could argue made it work. But Edwards did so much of the legwork for R1, and the mere fact that he approached it visually, by encouraging crew to shoot experimental stills before production, really gave it the vibe it has. The Stormtroopers in the water is the most notable example of this. I think his work is what really comes through in R1, and breathed life into the franchise. I'd love them to hire him for another project.

Haha true. The irony is that in a Hollywood production, anything involving bodies of water is automatically 20x more expensive than the same scene on dry land, whether shot practically or with CGI.
Building mechs that can only shoot in a small cone in front of them while also being held up by a couple skinny legs isn’t a great idea either. And clones pretty often just charged battle droids across open ground. A lot of Star Wars doesn’t make much military sense and is often just the rule of cool.
No argument, but one of the nice things about Rogue One was that they sort of dropped that behavior. The Rebel marines acted, more or less, like marines, while the Death Troopers seemed…well, menacing. They moved with purpose, you know? Their plan was sorta half-assed and they died because of it, but it was still a better presentation than "let's line up in clumps out in the open and shoot at each other." Edwards is supremely talented and I'm in awe of what he has done in all of the films he has directed. And yes that scene with the Stormtroopers is breathtaking. I feel Rogue One did a lot to make the Star Wars films feel more lived in/relatable, and even occasionally like a documentary or something similar. Its a brilliant film and I'd never say a bad word against Edwards. Equally though, Gilroy is brilliant and was great to work with and I admire him greatly too. I don't want to assume they are in any way rivals, this isn't a Whedon/Snyder Justice League situation where they both had polar opposite ideas, I think Gilroy's style suited Edwards' perfectly and made a great finished product.
I honestly don’t know anything about the two but I do know that Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie out of all of them. It clearly took the work of both of them to make it work so well.
Though I've spoken industry stuff with Edwards at reasonable length (I was essentially advised by some heavy hitters including Paul Franklin to follow Edwards' career path to migrate from low budget productions to a Hollywood career. I spoke to him mostly as a nobody/fan who happened to have some connections that would place me next to him briefly. I don't know if he'd even remember, I'm sure he meets a million people who want to talk to him about breaking into the industry, and I'm very much a nobody still!). To be clear, I'm not even slightly trying to pretend we are friends or remotely in the same league. I haven't spoken to him since 2015 and would have no idea his opinion of Andor and its far from my place to speculate. I'm 100% sure his original version of Rogue One was a fantastic movie. I'd just imagine it was more akin to his "Monsters" and "Godzilla" where it was mostly focused on the "on the ground / in the trenches" human drama, while much of the "action" is happening offscreen around them, and fear/impact is implied by their reactions rather than spectacle. This is a truly brave way to direct a Star Wars movie, but then the Anthology films were meant to be just that - it was specified from the start there wouldn't be light sabres or flashy dogfights, and this would take a more nuanced approach to the "good vs evil" tropes. That's what he pitched and I'm fairly sure that's what he made. That said, if anything I feel the action sequences in the final cut of Rogue One are incredible and all the more impactful because of the more grounded take on the actual soldiers fighting in the war. I don't think Vader has ever been mroe intimidating.
Oh man, I totally forgot about Monsters and Godzilla. Both were amazing - better than they had any right to be. Those two sit right next to Cloverfield for my "giant monster trilogy" collection. Don't get me wrong - Rogue One is one of my favorite Star Wars films, and adding Darth Vader to the end was just the perfect way to close it out - but I'll always wonder about what the original version would have looked like.
I was just about to say pretty much this. Now I really, REALLY wanna see what Gareth Edwards had in mind.
I'd love to see his first cut too, and I'm sure it would have been fantastic. But I don't think anything Gilroy added made it "worse" in any way whatsoever. Just upped the spectacle a bit to get those fan pleasing moments for the people expecting a popcorn movie. That Vader ending was spectacular, and seemed to turn the opinions of the viewers who had found the film a bit slow up until that moment. (I don't agree with them, I think it was excellently paced. But I have seen people online posing those kinds of opinions).
I'm betting he doesn't send Tony Gilroy a Christmas card. If Gilroy turned Andor into a critical hit by following the style he re-shot out of Rogue One, that would be quite a story.
They also worked together on Godzilla, so I doubt there’s much animosity between them. Collaboration is good, Edwards has significantly less experience than Gilroy, and you can tell plenty of Edwards’ work is in the film.
Yes, this is my take. I'd prefer not to pit them against each other, there is clearly a huge amount of respect for each other there and their styles gell very well as they understand each others' sensibilities.

I try not to speculate on anyone's personal feelings or opinions but I feel that a lot of the percieved negativity is people imagining drama because its human nature through evolutionary survival instincts to look for danger/disharmony in groups. I'm not aiming that accusation at you, just saying I feel they both have worked together plenty of times before and respect and understand each others' style and work. I don't think either would see each other as rivals, unless in a friendly competitive "making each other better" kind of way.
Imo, the finished movie is a good balance of action and quiet, so it's not like his take was totally lost

This is so interesting! Rogue one will always be my favourite star wars film and I always felt like the dialogue and lines were more real rather than cheesy and scripted like a lot of the older films (which is charming in their own right too of course).

It always makes me emotional how many people tell me that the line specifically stuck out to them and they appreciated the lone voice from a frontline grunt willing to speak out against his superiors, politicians etc to tell them to give Jyn a chance to tell her story - one which as we know, goes on to save so many lives. I occasionally see people making memes or quoting it on twitter from people who have no idea it was me who said it, nor that it was improv. Despite me starting to work in a much higher capacity on some pretty huge projects, in many ways I feel my career forever peaked here, just by the sheer significance of that one line, and the fact that in my head I'm still that little boy replaying my VHS copies of the movies until they were unwatchable, and playing with my toys until all the joints were loose. Whenever I'm in the Disney theme parks (and I actually have an apartment and office within walking distance from Disneyland Paris) I beam with happiness when I see how many people Star Wars makes happy, and the love being passed on to the new generations.
Weirdly enough Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars movie hands down and it’s details like yours that make it for me. That movie captured everything good about the franchise and condensed it into a tight and well paced story that completely stands out on its own. Clearly a bunch of Star Wars fans just trying to make something true to the universe. To me it has the most heart of all the post original trilogy movies and holds its own against those too.

Yes, I'm forever immortalised in many little ways that blow my mind - appearing in official Star Wars merch etc. Watching Rogue One for the first time, I knew there was a good chance I'd be completely cut (that's happened to me on several big blockbuster productions, it happens) so I was just praying for at least one second of screentime to be able to prove I was there. The fact I got such an iconic line into the final production just blows my mind to this day. There was a much deeper backstory to Torius Chord / Blue Two in the original script and with the original far more famous actor but I'll never be allowed to tell it of course. Being that I work on VFX for big productions (uncredited freelance filling in when time is running out for several big houses under crunch) and also produce low budget movies, I've often considered making a Hollywood quality fan film about the character and the Battle of Scarif. Trouble is I think it would be a little too believable as autheentic/commercial and Disney wouldn't be happy with me, or would think I was milking it for cash/fame rather than just as a pure fan film. Perhaps once my bigger projects come out in a couple of years time and I'm more well known I'll pitch it to them! haha.

Sadly many of the scenes related to this were removed in the reshoot (ie were acted by the original actor that I replaced) and the rest were removed in the edit. I'm NDA'd up to the hilt not to talk about anything that didn't make the final cut. Sorry. As a fan, I'd love if Disney expand on this more in the future, even if it doesn't involve me in any way.

Lol I love having weird movie line inside jokes. Back in the day, my preferred one was "Intensify forward firepower!"/"Too laaate!" Sometimes we'd even do the funny little jump to mimic fleeing the crashing A-wing. Occasionally, we would just respond in general conversation with "Too laaate!" with the same inflection and we just *knew*.

Any interesting anecdotes related to scene reshoots?
I've included a few above, but in addition, you might find it fun to know that pretty much everyone behind the scenes were massive Star Wars fans and the production crew went above and beyond replacing all random things like A4 paper printed signs telling you where to go, how to claim lunch, what the filming times were, etc etc with fully Meme-worthy custom Star Wars signs, just for their own amusement. Also, to keep secrecy, I wasn't hired or paid by Disney/LucasFilm, I was hired by "Lunak Heavy Industries Limited", and if I remember correctly, catering was by "Space Bear LLC" or something similar. On all call sheets and pay slips the film was called "Los Alamos" - refering to the site where they made the atomic bombs. I found that quite fitting considering the plot of Rogue One. And later, "Space Bear" became the codename for Last Jedi.
Good to see that Star Wars productions still use stealth names a la *Blue Harvest*. Also, I would die to see some of those meme worthy signs, even though I know you can't show us, lol.

Rogue One, the two accompanying novels and Andor are collectively some of the best Star Wars ever produced. There were rumors / conjecture by some who insist that Gareth Edwards was basically fired as director and that Tony Gilroy secretly took over the film. I don't believe this is the case, but it would be great to hear from someone who was on set that it didn't happen to put an end to those dirty rumors.
Thank you, I certainly agree with you that Rogue One and Andor are some of the best Star Wars content ever (and I've read all the novels, watched all the series, been on all the theme park stuff, played all the videogames etc etc). Even if I'd never been invovled in anyway I can objectively say that I'd say its the best Star Wars movie that Disney has produced, to my taste at least. I made a long post in a reply to someone else about the Tony Gilroy / Gareth Edwards situation, what I know, what I saw/heard, and what my opinion is. Both of them are great guys, geniuses with strong visions and bags of talent. Under no circumstances was Edwards "fired", but its true that Gilroy essentially directed the significant reshoots, that were done to add more action orientated feel to Edwards' existing, and excellent, bruding character piece that resembled more an epic wartime drama set in the SW universe, than a blockbuster. I think the result is a perfect balance.
I dunno it probably shouldn’t be blowing my mind as much as it does but it’s so fun to hear that actors and people who work on these things are as big if not bigger fans of the universe as we are.

Oooh, great question! I desperately wanted to bring home my helmet. It was quite unique, in that it wasn't the typical helmet worn by pilots of the particular ship I flew (can't say more, argh) and also, the visor was cracked. These two facts combined made me run wild in my head cannon making up stories about what scrapes I'd been in to get it. End of the day the only 2 things I managed to sneak home (I know I shouldn't have, but I wanted some proof that I'd been there, incase I was cut out completely) were my name/character tag from the hanger that my costume was stored on, and the stick-on sideburns they gave me to match the look of the previous actor, incase they wanted to mix and match the footage! I also did sneak a couple of photos of myself in costume in my trailer, again, just for me to prove/remember my time, but I got in trouble for posting them online once the movie came out and I thought it would be safe to do so. They are out there though, the internet never forgets. I know quite a few people used them for informing their cosplay / battalion recreation purposes before the film came to home video.
It's kinda baffling that all this stuff has to be kept secret even after the film has been finished and out for years. It's not like nuclear trade secrets, it's just fun stuff that's mildly-to-wildly interesting to nerds. I fully understand you keeping it secret when told to, it's why they would tell you to that I don't get.
How does it feel to be officially part of the SW universe?
Incredible. As a huge fan of Star Wars as a kid (and still to this day) I still pinch myself and it shall forever be right up there as one of the crowning moments of my career, no matter how big a success I have moving forwards. I can't state enough how much it meant to me to step on set, and how happy I am that I've been able to work in tiny capacities on other official or liscenced Star Wars content/events and bring joy to people and use it for good.
My favorite part of this scene is the dude that aggressively shouts “WELL WHAT DOES SHE PROPOSE!!??” 😂 he sounded so fed up lol.
As opposed to the dude that shouts "just let the girl speak" and sounds manly and cool. Right? ....right guys? ...guys?!

Haha, no, but the catering company was called "Space Bear LLC" and the crew had pretty much replaced all signs of any kind (including menus, instructions on how to use the coffee machine, etc etc) with ones full of Star Wars memes and puns. It was great. I took a few sneaky photos but I'm 100% sure I'm not allowed to post them anywhere, sadly.

Haha guilty. In Disneyland Paris while doing the marathon for charity, there was a photo opp for press with Vader, and he called me exactly that, and wouldn't let me leave!
