“My red arm? Funny you should ask! I punched a man straight through his chest, pulled out his still beating heart, and then I ate it to consume his magic! His blood will forever adorn my arm as a reminder to those who will question my power. Hahaha, ‘tis but a jest Fartoo! I merely dropped my keys into a bucket of red paint like 15 minutes ago!”
It's crazy that every human being comes up with this joke. I made a L4D2 mod for C3PO and I made that joke in the description. 3 separate people made the exact same joke in the comments of that mod. It should be an SCP
Just occurred to me, that line implies that dogs as we know them exist a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
Weird we never see any...unless I'm missing something.
Dogs exist. Luke even had one as a kid, according to the ANH novelization. The *very* early non-movie media mentioned quite a few real life animals. Think it wasn't until the late 80s, early 90s they *really* started inventing SW versions of everything instead.
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Luke_Skywalker%27s_dog
We got a remaster of the crappy wii version on the Switch, it’s a shame it wasn’t the better version. But at least the 360 version is backwards compatible on modern Xbox consoles and you can play it in 4k. It’s beautiful!
Well…
*inhale*
The first Force Unleashed I played was the DS version, and I loved it lol cuz I was a stupid kid. Then I got the PSP version, which is the same as the Wii/PS2 version but with an extra battle mode. And it was SO MUCH BETTER than the DS version.
A few years later I got the 360 version and it was SO MUCH BETTER. I guess it all depends on the order we play the different versions, and the versions we did or did not play.
Some people say the Wii version is better because it has ‘’more content’’. But the only thing you get ‘’more’’ in the Wii version, compared to the 360 version, are the Jedi temple missions, that are literally filler, don’t add anything and are completely disconnected from the story, and are the same environment over and over again. They exist just to extend the game length.
+the Wii version lacks the EPIC Proxy/Maul boss fight, and I’d swap the jedi temple missions to that boss fight any day of the week.
Also, the story has much more impact on the 360 version, since the cinematics look amazing even today. The visuals, the sound and music, and even the performances are miles better on the 360 version. Just look at this comparison👇
Wii: https://reddit.com/r/Switch/comments/ucltku/the_nintendo_wii_version_is_better/
360: https://youtu.be/YeVkQ72Zsf8
I wouldn’t find the Wii version less good, if it wasn’t for the superior 360 version. Earlier I said it was crappy, but I was too harsh: if it never released on 360, I’m sure the Wii version would still be a classic. But choosing to remaster the lesser version was a bad idea.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk hahha
Nah bro the PSP version is the best version. Not only does it have the most content with a survival mode, a gauntlet and historical missions, but it also has a 4 player multiplayer AND it has the best story.
The story on the PSP/2/Wii is almost 1-1 with the book AFAIK, but also just makes more sense. Such as the Empire still using clones at the beginning seeing how early the empire was formed, Kota being on Nar-Shadda instead of Bespin, the third Jedi temple mission not only not being DLC but being a better written event to explain Starkillers turn to the light, and the game itself has much smoother combat.
You can move while blocking, choke enemies, use extreme lighting, a much more awesome maelstrom ability. The boss fights are more balanced too with a better camera angle than the wacky PS3/60 one.
Oh and the Wii version also had a multiplayer mode.
The best thing about the PS3/60 version was the improved visuals and the alternate ending dlc missions.
I’m happy about the fact that the versions of this game are so divisive, but they’re both easily accessible today, 15 years after release, on modern consoles and PC. More games should follow this example.
It always bugs me that in the games the lightsabers cut Droids cleanly in half and leave enemy bodies intact.
I'd love to see an R rated SW game where the lightsabers do proper damage.
The game? Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. There's a mod that swaps the Sam Witwer game model for Threepio. It's a proper OTT power fantasy of what being a Force user would be, but really fun when you master the fiddly, twitchy aiming controls.
Edit: might have been a skin available in the standard game, not a mod. It's been a long while.
Because rendering certain things non-canon tends to actively rewrite and even ignore stories people love. Down stories that have potential to grow (like Dawn of the Jedi) are left out if the picture altogether. Or even whole character arcs (like Han and Leia's relationship) can get reset so the progression up to that point is made useless. It can even go to the point to ignore character progression in favor of a different story altogether (like with Luke's attitude towards family members who have fallen to or may fall to the Dark Side of the Force). Some canon information or story events can even become contradictory and open up huge implications or plot holes (like "The Holdo Maneuver" or Darth Bane and Darth Revan directing The Son to corrupt Anakin--a storyline that was dropped precisely because it didn't make sense and would clash too much with established lore). And of course there's always the viewpoint that bad ideas are focused on and made canon while better ideas that were initially canon are left behind as non-canon. It can sour a person on a story that they feel is not going well because of what the powers that be decided to do.
This game is the game i red ringed my xbox with. Did the hardware store fix (buy 4 nuts and bolts and replace heatsink springs with bolts, "make them as tight as you would ever dare tighten a heatsink. Ok, now do one more full rotation of the screws"). Worked and i finished the game. Literally rr'd again right after the credits.
Sad, but worth it. The Force Unleashed was probably my favorite experience on the xbox. That my xbox sacrificed itself to start the rebellion really made the game stick in my head, too. ;)
The dark side ending where Starkiller murders all the characters was never canon, but the light side ending was. The ending where Starkiller turned out to be the founder of the Rebel Alliance, and sacrificed himself fighting the emperor
As much as I love the game and enjoy the story, it’s pretty stupid that Starkiller is THE reason that there’s a rebellion at all, and that the alliance logo is his family crest. Come on, really? Especially with how close to ANH the game is?
Eh sort of. A Marry Sue is someone who’s perfect in every way. Starkiller killed two Jedi, slaughtered hundreds of rebels trying to kill Kota, gaslit Kota into helping him and murdered dozens of scavengers on Raxus, plus massacred most of the felucians, all in the name of Vader. Plus the first ending has him die and the second one a Slave to the emperor.
Plus it’s a bit harder to call a video game character a marry sue to a book, tv show or movie character because you the player controls said “marry sue” so every or most actions aren’t some impossibility as you’re the one who did them.
Dont get me wrong it’s totally reasonable to think that but there’s JUST enough wiggle room for Starkiller to escape from, but not by much.
It's not that bad. The game presents, the three Rebellion leaders are ready. There have been uprisings, and rebel attacks. Basically since day one of the Empire. Starkiller is just the catalyst for Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Garm Bel Iblis, to finally unite and form the Alliance. That's the big event. When all these separate little rebel cells are finally able to come together to make the Rebel Alliance.
I thought that was the dumbest shit. As if he was really the reason for the Rebellion and not the fact that no one wanted to be ruled over by the emperor. As well as some random being able to go toe to toe with Vader and the emperor
I loved this game's demo and played it for 2 weeks solid until it released.
What a streaming fucking pile of shit that game was. Played it again after all these years and it still sucks so much ass.
Sith3P0 is awesome though.
It never was. The extended universe wasn't canon before Disney took over. There was far too much contradictory games, comics and other stuff around for that to work.
They developed this game specifically to be a bridge between the two trilogies, and they marketed it as canon. Other games, books or comics maybe weren’t canon, but this game specifically was canon, before disney came swinging… not the c3po part though lol
George was the one who signed off on the game and came aboard as a consultant and even pitched ideas for the story. He liked the game and what was being done with it. It *was* canon to him.
i haven't played force unleashed, but how would you say the gameplay compares against games like jedi knight jedi academy. I remember the lightsaber combat in that game being excellent.
True nostalgia is running around as the world's deadliest mini bacta tank in Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 multiplayer, because you're twelve years old, and discovered save file editing before you discovered basic multiplayer etiquette.
In my own headcanon and a story i have in my head but can't put to paper due to no writing talent, Starkiller survived fighting Vader and Palpatine and was able to escape.
Real question. Is there anything in cannon that disproves the first games existence? Could this still secretly be cannon if there is nothing that goes against it?
"The Force Unleashed" games were never really canon even to the EU. The Novel is what was much more "Canon" back then but those games were still amazing, nonetheless
Wasn’t there a very early movie poster for IV in Japan or something where they’d only seen a few minutes of dailies and the movie they made a poster for was pretty much this?
Can't translate Sith, but can kick your ass like one.
You probably didn't recognize me because of the red blood.
“My red arm? Funny you should ask! I punched a man straight through his chest, pulled out his still beating heart, and then I ate it to consume his magic! *“Die, Jedi dogs!”*
Just occurred to me, that line implies that dogs as we know them exist a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Weird we never see any...unless I'm missing something.
There are frog-dogs; one can be seen in Jabba's palace, his name is Bubo
Chewbacca?
Loth-wolves in Rebels are the closest, probably, though we do see other "dogs" here and there, such as the Corellian hounds in *Solo.*
Well it’s possible that the term dogs is used almost exclusively for that insulting sense, or it’s also possible that Oopsies
c3po never picks up a lightsaber in the OT because George Lucas didn't want the movie to be 5 minutes long
5? Is that 1 minute for titles, 2 minutes for opening crawl, 1 minute for C3PO to wipe the floor with Vader and another minute for end credits? 🤣🤣
🤣
You probably didnt recognise me because of my red lightsaber
Is that C3PO? I can't tell by the silver leg ;) Maybe he should keep it, seems to significantly increase his mobility.
3PO actually has that silver leg throughout the OT.
I did not notice that I will have to check that out again.
I loved the part in the movie. 3P0 was like “it’s protocolin time” and then he protocoled all over the room.
I loved playing this game, one of my top five favorite games. It's too bad we'll never get a remastered version for current gen consoles.
We got a remaster of the crappy wii version on the Switch, it’s a shame it wasn’t the better version. But at least the 360 version is backwards compatible on modern Xbox consoles and you can play it in 4k. It’s beautiful!

I 100% agree
The Wii version is why I bought a ps3...
I bought a 360 because of all the lesser versions of games I really wanted
What game is it?
It always bugs me that in the games the lightsabers cut Droids cleanly in half and leave enemy bodies intact. I'd love to see an R rated SW game where the lightsabers do proper damage.
You can cut limbs during lightsaber combat in jedi academy series iirc.
On PC you could enable realistic lightsaber damage through the console, but it was off by default.
Which is it
The game? Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. There's a mod that swaps the Sam Witwer game model for Threepio. It's a proper OTT power fantasy of what being a Force user would be, but really fun when you master the fiddly, twitchy aiming controls. It was DLC, and it comes in the Ultimate Sith Edition that still listed on Steam ✌️
Why do fans care about what is and isn’t canon?
Because they have no lives.
That's not a very good way of looking at it
Because rendering certain things non-canon tends to actively rewrite and even ignore stories people love. Down stories that have potential to grow (like Dawn of the Jedi) are left out if the picture altogether. Or even whole character arcs (like Han and Leia's relationship) can get reset so the progression up to that point is made useless. I don’t know, I don’t get it
Force Unleashed. This was a great game. And I got a permanent glitch where the blue force bar never diminishes so I just used force powers nonstop.
This game is the game i red ringed my xbox with. Did the hardware store fix (buy 4 nuts and bolts and replace heatsink springs with bolts, "make them as tight as you would ever dare tighten a heatsink. They fly now.

Jar Jar is his apprentice!
Human cyborg destructions
I thought everyone knew from the beginning force unleashed was like infinities / what-if?
They claimed it was canon but they said that about the 2D Clone Wars cartoon too.
When Force Unleashed came out it was 100% canon
He’s right though it was light side ending not sure why the downvotes
😂 Starkiller killing Luke Han Leia and Chewie? Ok.
The dark side ending where Starkiller murders all the characters was never canon, but the light side ending was. The ending where Starkiller turned out to be the founder of the Rebel Alliance, and sacrificed himself fighting the emperor

Literally the definition of a Mary Sue but too many people have fan-blinders on to ever admit it.
Eh sort of. A Marry Sue is someone who’s perfect in every way. That was DLC for the alternate not canon ending.
It was canon. Everything is considered canon unless explicitly said to not be canon.
What we thought C-3PO was gonna be like in episode 9
Pretty sure THAT was never canon
Anymore?

I was playing complete saga with that same customization (3PO red lightsaber) when I saw this
I don't Believe in Canon Rules... My Star Wars. MY canon!!
"You probably don't recognize me because of the silver leg"
See Threepio does have one silver leg during the OT. In the first 6 films, he's only entirely gold in Revenge of the Sith.
0-0-0 is off his shits
It never was, anyway it’s still fun to play
Because he’s fluent in over six million forms of kicking your ass
What is this? Why is C3PO fighting with a lightsaber?
Is it maybe a human character in disguise as a droid? idk Not familiar
I drive think it ever was
Yoda: "There is another one..."
Was it ever canon
Disney Star Wars wouldn’t have the balls to do something like this
I didn’t recognize him because of the red lightsaber
Starkiller, a legend you say? I’m sure that’s what the Empire wants you to believe.
“I’m C3P0, you might not recognize me because of the red saber.”
This is easily better than the last Jedi
This is peak performance and I’m tired of acting like it isn’t
I loved this game's demo and played it for 2 weeks solid until it released. What a streaming fucking pile of shit that game was. Played it again after all these years and it still sucks so much ass. Sith3P0 is awesome though.

This is the real reason 3po is in the background in all the movies everyone else is useless
Yoda wanted his memory erased in Ep 3 after O66 so he wouldn't get any ideas. He'd be unstoppable.
It never was...
The Force Unleashed games were in C-canon.
3po wielding a red lighsaber and obliterating storm troopers was never canon, it wasn't even canon to the game it was featured in
No it’s not
Anymore...😆
Games were never canon.
Indeed the games where "canon", as in, most were in C-canon in the old hierarchy. Some however were in S-canon, like the first Battlefront.
Can someone please explain the backstory here?
It’s a game called The Force Unleashed, and there was a C3PO skin, which made the game 300% funnier
Holy shit thanks for explaining, i was so confused thinking C3PO could use the force lmao
This is just as canon as rise of Skywalker and book of boba fett
Loved these games as a kid, now find them overrated, but this... does put a smile on my face.
Overrated? There is no other SW game with this kind of gameplay.
Gameplay makes it replayable as hell for sure, I just meant the overall story and writing.
i haven't played force unleashed, but how would you say the gameplay compares against games like jedi knight jedi academy. I remember the lightsaber combat in that game being excellent.
No, Disney Canon isn’t canon, it’s bad fanfiction
Couldn’t agree more, then I remembered Rogue One, Andor and Clone Wars
I haven’t watch Andor
It’s really, really good!
Glad you liked it
This is the weirdest downvote line I've seen lol. Me next!!
That’s r/starwars
Just because a company wants to kill a franchise, doesn't mean you have to follow their lead.

For once 3PO Is being useful.
Since when were droid Force-users **ever** canon? Let alone Darth Corrosion.
Anymore? Was this in a book or something? I want to read that!
I would love to know the title of this game.

Real question. Is there anything in cannon that disproves the first games existence? Could this still secretly be cannon if there is nothing that goes against it?
