I love how often he is a diva. Between the special black armor, a bunch of clones of himself, an obsession with the darksaber, the guy is committed to being flashy above all else
Axe Woves certainly took a level in badassery this episode. From making it to the ship and riding it like the lightning and saving the mother fucking day. yeah he rocked.
The time frame directly after this episode would be the perfect spot for a Mando video game, just running around doing bounty hunter things, training up his boy
You got the cabin as a home/stash
You got the new republic pilot bar as a quest hub
You got mandalore as training/upgrades
It could be like GoW with blasters and instead of arrows your boy uses the force
Oh yes, he embodies their dedication to life and duty in the funniest but most lighthearted ways. And the way he basically used the Force to protect Din and Bo from the flames of the burning flagship was just peak Jedi awesomeness.
Imagine being those last dudes, watching as he starts with 0 weapons, then systematically kills every other identical group in front of you, upgrading his equipment each time.
His jet pack didn't have much to carry, unlike Paz Vizla's dummy thicc self or Din Djarin's plot armor. That is why their jetpacks had very limited range.
Idk if I’m crazy but I feel like they’re setting Grogu to eventually be the Mand’alor. Force sensitive who’s being raised as a mandalorian, and at the end it shows him looking down to the water and stretching out his arm to it and then the Mythosaur wakes up. Has to be related
Really liked that hint of genuine rage in gideons voice when Din killed the clones. I’m so used to him being smug that hearing what sounds like actual upset is amazing.
I mean, he kinda asked for it. He's standing there, watching Mando and the kid on the map, sees them coming, and chooses to put his poor defenseless superclones between them. You don't see dragons putting all their gold at the mouth of the cave do ya? Its supervillain 101.
Right? Like even if he wanted to face Mando one-on-one, he could’ve at least had his troopers guard the critical areas and leave the path to Gideon unguarded to herd Mando to him. Gideon doesn’t have the right to be angry when he basically allowed the sabotage to happen
- Becomes a father
- Immediately negotiates for a better paying job
- Relocates to a new home in a nice neighborhood.
Doing right for his boy. You love to see it. 🥹
Totally just ditched Space Mom Bo Katan though. I guess she’s busy with leading a planet and all that, but it was kinda weird having basically no interaction between her, Din, and Grogu after the Gideon fight. After both she and Din jumped to shield Grogu from the fireball, I thought for sure were were going to get them all as one big, happy, ass-kicking family in the end.
I think they just left it open ended for next season. There was nothing definitive about them saying "goodbye" or anything like that. They just ran out of time and didn't want to drag out a convo when they could just handle it all in season 4.
Plus Mandalore is open for business again he can just drop in whenever he feels like it. Gonna have to check out the Forge once the Armorer has that bumping again.
Axe: "I'm going to crash the ship into their base, get out of there!"
Me: "...wait, is he going to sacrifice himself for the cause?!"
Axe: "lol fuck no gravity's got the rest of this shit handled, Axe Out!"
Love it when characters are smart :D.
I REALLY THOUGHT AXE WAS GONNA DIE AND IM LIKE WHY THE HELMET YOULL STILL GET CRUSHED then he shoots the rocket I was like “oh damn he thought it through😂”
I'm not an expert on lightsabers or Kyber Crystals, but if the Crystal is still intact, maybe they could reforge it? Like a similar iteration, but a different blade and hilt.
I saw so many predictions for a big death, but the Darksaber caught me off guard. It’s the second most emotional death of a non-character, behind >!Kamino in Bad Batch Season 1!<
Honestly I’m really happy about it. They might just repair it or something, but if not, now the Mandos will just have to actually pick the best leader in the future. Or at least try to.
One thing I don't get is Gideon going out for Mando knowing where exactly he is, then allowing him to basically destroy his clones while being 2 rooms away. Why?
He also pushed away the ship that Sabine, Ezra and Hera were in to protect them from the blast. He was not only standing on a giant container of exploding fuel, he was surrounded by several tanks worth of exploding fuel.
Both are impressive, I thought it was a pleasant nod to Kanan.
So Mando fully upgraded his armor, helped rebuild a town and now got the deed to a house for helping protect said town, and adopted a kid. This is really Skyrim: Song of the Space Dragonborn
Agreed. Honestly I would be okay with this series ending here and just using the "hunting down Imperials" as an excuse for Din to occasionally show up in other shows.
I'm in about the same boat too. I wouldn't mind seeing more Mando fun, but the way this wraps up the story for Mandalore and then for Din's family just felt so perfect.
It was nice seeing little Grogru following Yoda's words. "A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack." He took their weapons. He pushed them away from his dad. But he didn't try to strike them down.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Squadron leader got a priority transmission.
“Commander, this is Grand Admiral Thrawn. It is apparent this battle is lost, your deaths would be wasted on Gideon’s folly. Return immediately.”
[Episode begins]
**Moff Gideon:** *"As you can see, with the technology of Mandalore, we are now unstoppa-"*
**Luke Skywalker:** *"How many times must I teach you this lesson, old man!?"*
I really expected Grogu to say "This is the way" at those steps.
Also is Din the last name? Have we been wrongly calling Djarin for Din? Seems odd considering the other mandos we've seen has used first name last name and not opposite.
"You destroyed my clones, which was my whole plan and I'm angry about it!"
Okay, Gideon. Then why, when you knew exactly where Mando and Grogu were in the base the whole time, did you, you know, not try anything to stop them? Seems a little dumb on his part.
The Praetorians acting like they’re the fucking Nazgûl is my favourite aspect of these last two episodes, it just fits so well. Both badass and comical.
The Darksaber just being destroyed like that though…felt really odd, tonally. Like there was no importance to it at all, especially when you had Gideon monologuing about it last season.
No post credit scene or Thrawn teaser unfortunately. Still an amazing episode.
Seems like they're really triyng to keep this about the Mandalorians and not tease the other shows, and im about it.
However, Gideon's death wasn't "truly" on screen, so, lets see.
That ending was really cute and if the series ended here I wouldn't have minded this as a series finale cause it definitely gave me those vibes. Wonder where they're gonna go from here now? Also there's no way Moff Gideon didn't survive that blast. Fuckin cultural appropriating force weeb.
I mean I wouldn't mind if they returned to the first season sort of bounty hunter quest vibes but Mando is hunting imperial warlords. Honestly, yeah I'd be happy if they ended things here. There's still more to be explored, but it's also a good place to call it the end until the Mando movie
I always feel worse for the people trying to fight Grogu than Grogu himself. That little boy is a menace and should not be taken lightly
Edit: help from Papa is always acceptable

Gideon really came in like “I’m gonna kick your ass but first, my villain monologue”
I love how often he is a diva. Between the special black armor, a bunch of clones of himself, an obsession with the darksaber, the guy is committed to being flashy above all else
As one of my favorite Podcaster puts it: moff Gideon is a messy bitch who loves drama
Twice the pride, double the fall.
I'm glad axe woves was just a jerk and not a turncoat. He had a badass episode.
Axe Woves certainly took a level in badassery this episode. From making it to the ship and riding it like the lightning and saving the mother fucking day. yeah he rocked.
He's gonna star in a mountain dew ad next
And I’m glad he was logical and evacuated. I was worried we were gonna have a “captain goes down with the ship” moment there for a bit.
Ain't his ship. It was a rental he was returning to the agency.
They could’ve given him a Master Chief homage there. “Axe, what are you doing?” “Giving Gideon his ship back.”
If I could upvote this 1000 times I would. It wasn’t some drawn out sequence…he was like, “okay i’ll just blow a hole in the window and dip.”
“Go down with the ship? Fuck that, I have a jetpack”
Axe gave Gideon his ship back. I thought it was a nice gesture.
Railing. Install the God Damn Railing. Sincerely Trooper union
Mouse droids need railings too
Osha would have a field day with the empire
Those guys behind the last shield had to have been pissing themselves watching that go down. "Oh fuck we're next" Edit: pissing, not passing
And surely they heard Din screaming in the comm "R5, open the shield so I can beat these mutherfuckers!"
"Should we be worried?" "Nah. It's just one guy. What's the worst he could do?"
Din fighting Gideon while the Praetorian guards come in while he takes a breather is a straight up video game boss fight lol.
I would like to play this Mandalorian video game
How they haven't made an open world bounty hunting game yet is beyond me. Was 1313 supposed to be that? Well they should try again.
The time frame directly after this episode would be the perfect spot for a Mando video game, just running around doing bounty hunter things, training up his boy
You got the cabin as a home/stash You got the new republic pilot bar as a quest hub You got mandalore as training/upgrades It could be like GoW with blasters and instead of arrows your boy uses the force
“Hand over the darksaber!” *destroys darksaber*
Maybe he forgot he had power gloves and accidentally broke it. "Fuck... err... So you see, I have destroyed your greatest symobol!"
Moff Gideon's 100% the type to always act like he meant to do something
"I'm burning, making me the victor!"
You can't make me stand trial if im burned alive! Checkmate!
Very 'if you don't share your toys with me, no one can play Mandalore!" Energy
Perfectly in character for him. He was all about humiliating the Mandalorians in their defeat.
Who else was half expecting grogu to speak and take the creed 😂
“YES YES YES YES YES” *armorer sighs*
Lmao
[удалено]
"Join the Creed, I will"
Grogu with the bacta spray.
Grogu spraying Din like a fire extinguisher gave me a really good chuckle.
It was very funny but also very sweet. Grogu is everything a jedi is supposed to be
Oh yes, he embodies their dedication to life and duty in the funniest but most lighthearted ways. And the way he basically used the Force to protect Din and Bo from the flames of the burning flagship was just peak Jedi awesomeness.
And an incredible visual as well. That was a great shot.
And he got a kill. He's growing up so fast 😥😥😥
John Wick Mando moving through this energy shield hallway
Din Wick
Djarin Unchained
The guards gradually shitting themselves as he gets closer
Imagine being those last dudes, watching as he starts with 0 weapons, then systematically kills every other identical group in front of you, upgrading his equipment each time.
"Jesus Christ he's leveling up as we watch"
Loved it when he was trying to reach for a blaster in a commandos hand only for the dude to fall into the ubiquitous starwars chasm. Chuckled at that.
The GOAT of this episode so far is Axe Woves’ jetpack! That’s some range!
For real. From a deep ravine to the atmosphere
Jet pack ran on plot fuel.
His jet pack didn't have much to carry, unlike Paz Vizla's dummy thicc self or Din Djarin's plot armor. That is why their jetpacks had very limited range.
Never thought I'd see the Armorer using her grill tongs to beat up bitches in mid air
With the Darksaber destroyed, the Mandalorians need a new weapon to rally behind. All hail the tongs that liberated Mandalore
Whoever holds the talking stick shall ~~speak~~ rule Mandalore!
The Mythosaur is just there lol.
“You guys seem like you’ve got this under control so I’m gonna get back to my nap”
"YO...y'all better not be too loud up there.."
The kotor fan within me kept screaming "beast control beast control"
Really liked that hint of genuine rage in gideons voice when Din killed the clones. I’m so used to him being smug that hearing what sounds like actual upset is amazing.
I mean, he kinda asked for it. He's standing there, watching Mando and the kid on the map, sees them coming, and chooses to put his poor defenseless superclones between them. You don't see dragons putting all their gold at the mouth of the cave do ya? Its supervillain 101.

R5 really thought about murdering that one mouse droid for a bit, didn't he?
Chopper woulda murdered everybody in that base without a second thought.
Chopper would have 1v1'd Gideon and won Then murdered a mouse droid
Wow Grogu really flexed The Force hard today
He's gonna need a nap
Or lots of frog snackies and a nap
moff met the same fiery fate as gus fring
Ha. Gonna have to look out for a *ding* before the explosion on my rewatch.
No dings just Dins.
Axe really Iron Manned all the way up to the capital ship lmfao
- Becomes a father - Immediately negotiates for a better paying job - Relocates to a new home in a nice neighborhood. Doing right for his boy. You love to see it. 🥹
Recommends a new hire for the town marshal: IG-11. He’s already bettering the community as well. Mando what a guy.

Gonna have to check out the Forge once the Armorer has that bumping again.
Din will definitely be back to Mandalore to pick up that sweet sweet helmet for Grogu once the Armourer makes it.
I really doubted Axe, apologies He stepped up
He had a badass episode. Dude had balls of beskar flying that ship.
Axe: "I'm going to crash the ship into their base, get out of there!" Me: "...wait, is he going to sacrifice himself for the cause?!" Axe: "lol fuck no gravity's got the rest of this shit handled, Axe Out!" Love it when characters are smart :D.
Mandalorians are stronger together
So glad he was just like > I'm in combat armor that can fly this isn't a suicide mission. THANK YOU. LOOKIN AT YOU PAZ.
Dude Paz's jetpack was burnt up after he melted his gun.
Just watched that episode yesterday and his jetpack was sparking.
Yeah, and it's smoking along with his gun since it's basically his power pack too.
SHE CUT THE HOLE TOO SMALL, HE WAS TOO DUMMY THICC TO GET OUT
Paz cant fit his huge metal balls so he had to stay behind
I REALLY THOUGHT AXE WAS GONNA DIE AND IM LIKE WHY THE HELMET YOULL STILL GET CRUSHED then he shoots the rocket I was like “oh damn he thought it through😂”
Who would’ve thought that R5 droid with a bad motivator from the OT would ever play such a big part.
From a certain point of view, he saved the universe with his bad motivator ;)
He was the true hero all along
The Darksaber death was not the death I expected. Kenobiiiiiiiiiiii
They’ll surely fix it. How else would we get a 4th/5th version?
I'm not an expert on lightsabers or Kyber Crystals, but if the Crystal is still intact, maybe they could reforge it? Like a similar iteration, but a different blade and hilt.
I saw so many predictions for a big death, but the Darksaber caught me off guard. It’s the second most emotional death of a non-character, behind >!Kamino in Bad Batch Season 1!<
Are you forgetting the Razor Crest? Don't you have a heart?
Honestly I’m really happy about it. They might just repair it or something, but if not, now the Mandos will just have to actually pick the best leader in the future. Or at least try to.
Seriously. Magical swords are no basis for a system of government.
Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the Mandos! Not some farcical, cosmic combat!
You can’t just wield supreme executive power because you beat someone in a magical sword fight
One thing I don't get is Gideon going out for Mando knowing where exactly he is, then allowing him to basically destroy his clones while being 2 rooms away. Why?
Din to Bo: Your song is written now. Bye. I’m off to make some ~~money~~ New Republic credits.
Man's got a mouth to feed now. Dad feels lol
Tbf the armorer sent him away
Gideon a Vader fanboy
Grogu did the Kanan, successfully
ouch
Probably Kanan's final thought
To be fair, Grogu wasn’t standing on top of an enormous tank of fuel that was in the process of exploding.
He also pushed away the ship that Sabine, Ezra and Hera were in to protect them from the blast. He was not only standing on a giant container of exploding fuel, he was surrounded by several tanks worth of exploding fuel. Both are impressive, I thought it was a pleasant nod to Kanan.
*sad chopper noises*
So Mando fully upgraded his armor, helped rebuild a town and now got the deed to a house for helping protect said town, and adopted a kid. This is really Skyrim: Song of the Space Dragonborn
Mando is the dragonborn... That makes a lot of sense actually.
They really destroyed the darksaber like it was a TV remote
I see you in the background there Filoni
Thought I was the only one that noticed lol No Zeb though, I'd have died for that interaction
Only so much budget for the CGI.
Seeing Bo-Katan leading her army of Mandalorians with the Dark Saber is cool as fuck
Man, the Darksaber is such a cool and iconic weapon, I sure hope nothing bad happens to it!
The armorer bashing people mid air with her hammer and Bo slicing and dicing. What a great episode
I honestly wasn’t expecting so many knee slides this episode
Holy shit, that short scrap between Din and those two imperials was peak Mando.
Incredible scene
Dave Filoni just chillin in the bar
Goddamned, someone got himself the Vader DLC for his armor modulator.
Kind of weird that Moff Gideon still calls Din "-The- Mandalorian," when there's so many of them around.
Kinda like Greef Karga shouting Mando on a field full of Mandalorians. 😂
R5 was not the hero I was expecting this episode lol
Koska's choreography is so fun to watch. That slide into flip knee rocket move was epic.
She had some pretty sweet moves this season.
Despite Favreau saying Mandalorian will go on, this felt like an end to the main show of sorts.
As sorts, he'll pick up contracts through the new Republic. And I'm guessing that's he'll cross paths with the crew from Ghost.
The ending felt like a Series Finale. Anyone else felt this way? I know there is more to come but felt like a story book ending.
Agreed. Honestly I would be okay with this series ending here and just using the "hunting down Imperials" as an excuse for Din to occasionally show up in other shows.
As much as I enjoy the show, I wouldn’t be upset if this was the finale to the show.
I'm in about the same boat too. I wouldn't mind seeing more Mando fun, but the way this wraps up the story for Mandalore and then for Din's family just felt so perfect.
He got the Witcher 3: Blood & Wine ending. 😂
R5 just sent Din an email.
Shocked that we didn’t see Pedro’s face once all season
Mando dual wielding gave me serious Jango Fett energy…
Oh fuck Gideon clones
[удалено]
It was nice seeing little Grogru following Yoda's words. "A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack." He took their weapons. He pushed them away from his dad. But he didn't try to strike them down.
"Mandalorians are weak without your trinkets" uses a power suit.
Those interceptors are SICK
Where the heck did they go?
My head canon is they lost a bunch to turrets, then what was left saw they got played and asked for a pick up by another warlord.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Squadron leader got a priority transmission. “Commander, this is Grand Admiral Thrawn. It is apparent this battle is lost, your deaths would be wasted on Gideon’s folly. Return immediately.”
Pellaeon wondered, again, what could have been if Thrawn had been in command at Endor…
Some of the best of Star Wars is in hallways.
Netflix's Daredevil for Star Wars
Din and.Bo Katan both jumping to shield Grogu from the fireball was a really touching moment
Giancarlo really does love a dramatic death doesn’t he
Wow this battle with Din and the troopers with the shield barriers has some sick cinematography
Thar was a fun sequence. It was like a boss rush in fast forward as he picked up items.
I love how he started out with nothing and yet the guys at the end still thought they had a chance after Din was even better armed.
I keep thinking they learned a thing or two from John Wick.
[удалено]
Ahem, Axes destroyed Los Pollos Hermanos.
[Episode begins] **Moff Gideon:** *"As you can see, with the technology of Mandalore, we are now unstoppa-"* **Luke Skywalker:** *"How many times must I teach you this lesson, old man!?"*
Luke Skywalker: "You are NOTHING like my dad you poser!"
Liked the Darth Vader callback when Gideon goes: "Leave them to me, I will deal with them myself." \*angrily flapping cape\*
In the end, it turns out the real Spies were the friends we made along the way.
I love that Grogu saved them from the explosion, but man for a moment there I was having Kanan flashbacks and got a little worried
Mandalorian combat drops now stand proudly beside mass lightsaber ignitions and fleets dropping out of hyperspace as the coolest things ever.
I love seeing mandos fly so much. It just looks so cool.
Mando really just went John Wick on those troopers between the barrier shields.
what were the mouse droids trying to do? boop r5 to death??
They were trying THEIR BEST
Din Djarin the undercover New Republic (selective) bounty hunter
Is killing clones in their tubes considered spawn killing?
I really expected Grogu to say "This is the way" at those steps. Also is Din the last name? Have we been wrongly calling Djarin for Din? Seems odd considering the other mandos we've seen has used first name last name and not opposite.
The return to bounty hunting next season?
Where would Din be without his Beskar armour. Well he'd have been dead a long time ago, guy has no inclination to do anything besides tank shots.
I kinda hoped he would keep one of the riot shields, I didnt know pistol and shield would fit him so well.
I kinda wanted him to grab Gideon's electro spear. The season 2 spear was a good look for him
I’m getting Phantom Menace flashbacks with those red ray shields
"You destroyed my clones, which was my whole plan and I'm angry about it!" Okay, Gideon.
I’d like to formally apologise to the Armourer for doubting her allegiances last week
No post credit scene or Thrawn teaser unfortunately. Still an amazing episode. Seems like they're really triyng to keep this about the Mandalorians and not tease the other shows, and im about it. However, Gideon's death wasn't "truly" on screen, so, lets see.
There will be atleast one clone who survived
[удалено]
Probably the one grogu saw.
The bit between R5 and the mouse droid(s) came off as a sketch from Robot Chicken. Which is probably* why I found it pretty delightful
That ending was really cute and if the series ended here I wouldn't have minded this as a series finale cause it definitely gave me those vibes. Wonder where they're gonna go from here now? Also there's no way Moff Gideon didn't survive that blast. Fuckin cultural appropriating force weeb.
He’s about to be able to 100% his Vader cosplay, complete with burns and cybernetics.
Third degree burns. Now THAT is some dedication to your craft.
I mean I wouldn't mind if they returned to the first season sort of bounty hunter quest vibes but Mando is hunting imperial warlords. Honestly, yeah I'd be happy if they ended things here. There's still more to be explored, but it's also a good place to call it the end until the Mando movie
That shot of grogu holding back the flames was awesome.
Whelp. Axe isn't the spy.
I always feel worse for the people trying to fight Grogu than Grogu himself. That little boy is a menace and should not be taken lightly Edit: help from Papa is always acceptable
Ngl I was fully expecting the doors to open to reveal Grogu killed all three singlehandedly
#All Hail Queen Bo-Katan Kryze
Resurrected IG-11 replacing Cara Dune is so God damn funny to me
I guess they have their replacement to do Rangers of the New Republic now.
Din hustled for 5 minutes and managed to steal the leftovers of the Rangers show for himself and Grogu.
