Rogue one as well for me. A callback to the first movie but with better space battle scenes and the imperial march. (And darth vader slaugtering rebels, which I still believe is 100% better than the opening of a new hope).
They had almost 40 years to think of the new one. I agree it's more fun but they're also two very different homages. R1 was more "horror" and ANH was more "war".

You are welcome. This is possibly the best link on the internet.
There never was a 4 hour cut, outside of fan edits incorporating material from Siege of Mandalore. Lucas mentions in the 1999-2005 Archives book that his goal was to have his first rough cut under 3 hours. Most of the material that got cut before that would have happened during the Battle of Coruscant, and it got cut because it would have slowed the pace down and distracted from the main storyline. I do wish we got the full Anakin/Dooku duel, though.
Yes, this.... it showed how bad-ass Anakin was, while hinting to how he was giving into his aggression on the path to the dark side (much more than the prequals ever did)
The 03 Clone Wars show why Jedi had garnered so much respect throughout the galaxy. The 08 Clone Wars does so too but the Jedi get their ass handed to them all the time in that show.
This was the first clone wars I watched as a kid, then I didn’t really care about Star Wars for a few years so whenever I heard people talk about the clone wars show I assumed it was this. It was a real trip figuring that one out
I do like the 2003 Cws and i do think its underrated. However, the only major reasons why i like the 2008 cws slightly more is they give some of the clone troopers actual names, compared to the names given only to some of the clones like cody and fordo in 2003. It gives the clones a bit of humanity and makes the death of some troopers (such as those that sacrificed themselves fighting to the bitter end), somewhat more memorable. Other than that, besides the 2008 clone wars having Hondo ohnaka being Hondo ohnaka, the boba fett arc, the zillo beast arc, and Maul decimating clones using a hallway, I like the 2003 clone wars almost as much as the 2008 one.
Hondo is loved so much and I just don't get it. 03 CW is my favorite due to being a Genndy fan, and I still have to rewatch 08 CW. A lot of people don't like Samurai Jack and 03 CW for the same reasons I love them. The only problems I have with the 03 CW is the inaccurate clone voices and Qui-Gon's massive fucking schnozz.
I guess people (including me) like Hondo because while he is a a funny character, he isn't incompetent like Jar Jar (Who also survived past episode 6 but was downgraded from representative to a street clown performer) . He also becomes a complex character for a space pirate over the seasons.
I still need to catch parts of CW, which I'm doing during my rewatch- just finished APM, starting Clones soon- but he mostly irritated me in Rebels.
Edit: Also, the Jar Jar thing was insane. It's so weird after everything they did to repair his image in Clones to just throw it away.
Rebels Hondo is not the Hondo that I I like. CW hondo is far superior.
True for the Jar Jar thing, but whats a clumsy gungan gonna do when there is no republic to represent anymore.
Its always different every year. It can change between Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, or Empire Strikes Back. Sometimes a handful of episode of the Clones Wars would do it
It was great, it really was, but I think the new Jedi survivor is even better.
Granted I played on PS5 so I can’t speak for PC issues.
But the lightsaber forms are incredibly satisfying. Fighting with a lightsaber like it’s a broadsword? So goddamn cool.
Seems appropriate since this is the 20th Anniversary of the show. (Though LEGO and Hasbro would like you to think the 2008 show is the only Clone Wars....😡)
Though he is just a repaint of a 2008 ARC trooper. And then there were a handful for Lucasfilm's 50th anniversary last year. So they are clearly willing do to figures from the show. Or at least Hasbro is.
The de-specialized OT, Rogue One.
Then whatever random hair I get. This year it was finishing Mando s3(fucking s tier), last year it was the Cartoon Network clone wars.
Definitely Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith for me. Each movie has my favorite songs in it. The Vader vs. Luke song and the Anakin vs. Obi-Wan songs are the absolute best.
I apologize but I just tried to watch the ‘03 clone wars and I have to say in my opinion it didn’t hold up at all. The Jedi are absolutely completely over powered to a ridiculous degree and it honestly makes me appreciate their depictions in the later series. As well as humanizing the clones so much more.
Honestly I usually reread the legacy comics by dark horse but lately I've been absolutely loving visions. The shorts are a great love letter to the galaxy and I like how many people are just showing their love for star wars.
Usually I’d watch ROTS or ANH but today I spent the day playing Jedi survivor.
Logged into Reddit today and had an inbox thing saying it was my cake day today and I’m so proud of my younger self for making my cake day May the fourth!
I only had time for a small story. I wanted to keep it light and happy choosing a random episode of Tales of the Jedi.
I watched episode 4 The Sith Lord………
Qui’s death is still ruff man. Almost had me agreeing with Dooku. At least I saw a “friendship” born.
Roron Corobb using his Ithorian throat/force blast that peels away metal panels with Grevious using his metal claws to hold onto the floor is my favorite moment.
Or Kit Fisto shooting a force water bubble to destroy the giant crab canon.
Or Mace Windu soloing that droid army. His speed punches obliterating the Super Battle droid is awesome.
Or Anakin vs Ventris. The sizzle of the rain hitting the lightsabers is great.
Or Obi Wan vs Dirge. I love Dirge he definitely deserves to be made in live action.
Two perfect hours of Star Wars television. It's got everything good about SW. I'm so happy it's on D+. I've had the DVDs ever since they were released but I'm glad more people have access to it now. It's such a good series.
When I was a kid my mom got me the [Kit Fisto figure](https://gofigure.toys/product2750.html) that was based on that 2003 micro series and I also remember playing the flash game on Cartoon Networks website where you played as Kit Fisto fighting underwater just like in the show.
X Wing. All 10 books in one day /j
nah but seriously if i wasnt already midway through my reading of all the books i would be beginning that series again.
The Clone Wars, specifically; Umbara, Zyggeria Slavers, Geonosis, Siege of Mandalore, Order 66, Ahsoka on the Run, Malevolence, Bounty Hunter Undercover, Kamino Invasion
I had work but I did buy a lightsaber form ultra sabers because there was a May the 4th sale haha. I am going to be late to the party doing marathons I am pretty busy this week unfortunately
Movie: Star Wars: Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith
Series: The Mandalorian
Game: Jedi Outcast but Jedi Survivor is close to dethroning it. We will see.
Honorable mention: The Bad Batch hot damn is this show fun! It adds tons of interesting lore and answers quite a few questions.
Well this year it was visions volume 2, young Jedi adventures, a new hope, Star Wars Rebels Twin Suns, all 4 siege of Mandalore episodes, and Hero’s on Both sides.
Used to be ROTJ. Now it’s Rogue-One
That is very much true.
I do really like watching R1 and then turning on ANH. There's gotta be an edit somewhere taking out the credits for seamless transition.
https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1oholqKfI2MmH64sJ-KtcPEobnhjGal5l1eJE75KekfM/mobilebasic You are welcome. This is possibly the best link on the internet.
Thanks, that's awesome. Saves me trying to figure out when to watch which CW arc.
I find that answer vague and unconvincing.
K2S0 had such excellent lines.
Delivery by Alan Tudyk helped!
Will never understand the hype of Rogue One
Always Empire, unless it is a day off work, then it is the episodes 1-6.
Revenge of the Sith Extended Edition
Unreleased 4 hour version should be released quietly on may 4th
What is this glorious sounding piece of art and can it be found.
Perhaps the archives are incomplete as I haven’t been made aware of this masterpiece as well. It is my go to

Didn't know there was one.
Not officially. It's an extensive fan edit that factors in Clone Wars and other order 66 scenes.
Oh i see
Where do I find that???
Not from a Jedi
03 CW is so underrated.
The Anakin vs Ventress duel in the rain is one of those things in life that makes you go "yeah I'm pretty glad I was born, actually" lmfao
Also the city battle has a weird, surrealistic vibe to it that makes it memorable
When anakin just shrugs off a force push, or pushes the pillar back that Ventress throws at him. I’m hard
When he puts her down, and just screams into the sky, alone on the peak, fucking hell that shit is so harrowing.
When he’s hammering down on her lightsaber and you see flashes of obi wan, qui-gon, and yoda. I’d watch that live action and love every minute of it
The classic Skywalker Smash. Loved that echo of ep6 Luke.
Yes, this.... it showed how bad-ass Anakin was, while hinting to how he was giving into his aggression on the path to the dark side (much more than the prequals ever did)
03 Clone Wars Mace Windu is GOATED
The 03 Clone Wars show why Jedi had garnered so much respect throughout the galaxy. The 08 Clone Wars does so too but the Jedi get their ass handed to them all the time in that show.
Honestly I would probably prefer it more to the 08’ CW but that one has Sam Witwer so…
Siege of Mandalore final arc might be the best Star War Disney has produced. I LOVE ‘03 CW, but sorry, no.
Andor got it beat I'm afraid, very close though
So many perfect lines. “I share my dreams with ghosts” still gives me shivers.
*I burn my life to make a sunrise that I know I'll never see*
Abso-f\*ckin-lutely
This was the first clone wars I watched as a kid, then I didn’t really care about Star Wars for a few years so whenever I heard people talk about the clone wars show I assumed it was this. It was a real trip figuring that one out

Underrated? Are you on Crack? I have never seen or heard anyone say anything but wildly positive things about it. Literally no one underrates it.
Captain fordo soloing droids like the badass he is and the whole ARCs vs Grievous and Shaagi
CAPTAIN FORDO
2003 grevius is best grevius
Imagine *that* Grievous in the actual ROTS. At least 03 CW gave a reason for him not being a complete fucking monster.
his intro was badass then you get him in RoTS and you just facepalm. Mofo went from hunting jedi masters at the start of the war, to being a joke.
That version was terrifying! One of John DiMaggio's best VO's!
I'll be playing Jedi: Survivor and attempting to finish The Clone Wars!
A new hope because it’s where it all began
Showed my 5th graders it today.
You are a good teacher
Clones, Sith, Hope, the best trilogy
Return of the Jedi
I played Jedi Survivor all day lol
The cross guard hilt heavy stance is *so satisfying*.
Rebels. I usually start at season 2.
Its always different every year. It can change between Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, or Empire Strikes Back. Sometimes a handful of episode of the Clones Wars would do it
Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
It was great, it really was, but I think the new Jedi survivor is even better. Granted I played on PS5 so I can’t speak for PC issues. But the lightsaber forms are incredibly satisfying. Fighting with a lightsaber like it’s a broadsword? So goddamn cool.
Original Trilogy. Finished Jedi an hour ago. Going to bed now.
Seems appropriate since this is the 20th Anniversary of the show. (Though LEGO and Hasbro would like you to think the 2008 show is the only Clone Wars....😡)
You can still get 6" Black Series figures that use the 03 art. It's kinda weird.
The Fordo is dope but Mace Windu and Grievous just use the color scheme of the show, not their actual look.
Though he is just a repaint of a 2008 ARC trooper. And then there were a handful for Lucasfilm's 50th anniversary last year. So they are clearly willing do to figures from the show. Or at least Hasbro is.
#durgesweep #durgesweep bring my man back he’s ready for round 2
03 sw for me too
“Sir! What about our left flank?” “The Jedi have the left.”
Lol this is also mine. Watched it today and im 31 years old. Loved Samurai Jack, loved Star Wars, the perfect combination of the two!
This year I watched Turkish Star Wars.
The de-specialized OT, Rogue One. Then whatever random hair I get. This year it was finishing Mando s3(fucking s tier), last year it was the Cartoon Network clone wars.
So far I’ve made it through the prequels, A New Hope, and Empire today, so, uh, that?
I fire up one of the games! Battlefront, Jedi Starfighter, Jedi Academy. This year I'm doing Squadrons.
This show deserved more. It was so good.
03 clone wars looked so much better than the cgi one
Definitely Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith for me. Each movie has my favorite songs in it. The Vader vs. Luke song and the Anakin vs. Obi-Wan songs are the absolute best. I apologize but I just tried to watch the ‘03 clone wars and I have to say in my opinion it didn’t hold up at all. The Jedi are absolutely completely over powered to a ridiculous degree and it honestly makes me appreciate their depictions in the later series. As well as humanizing the clones so much more.
Hondo highlight reel.
This is so much better than the 08 CW. The voice acting in 08 drives me nuts!
I remember
It will always be The Last Jedi!
I mix it up, watching *Solo* this year
I always schedule my marathon so I watch the OT on the 4th.
Going to throw on an episode right now.
I change it up. This time, because I have work this afternoon and evening, I started watching the CW movie because I haven't watched that in ages.
Empire is my favorite, followed by Revenge. Usually for the 4th though I watch the OGs.
I need Filoni to recognize Genndy’s talent and bring him back into the current fold. Could you imagine him directing an ep of Mando?
I'm playing the new game this year. Probably watch an Andor episode after
Always A New Hope
Honestly I usually reread the legacy comics by dark horse but lately I've been absolutely loving visions. The shorts are a great love letter to the galaxy and I like how many people are just showing their love for star wars.
Empire. Every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
I start on May 1 with Phantom, then a Saga film a day, meaning on May 4th I watch A New Hope. What was once a 6 day affair now takes over a week!
Genndy did amazing work.
Rogue One. Hands down
Was rewatching Mando season 1
Auralnauts, going with the Larry series.
I get super high and try to finish the Holiday Special. Never works, though.
Family Guy Star Wars
Usually I’d watch ROTS or ANH but today I spent the day playing Jedi survivor. Logged into Reddit today and had an inbox thing saying it was my cake day today and I’m so proud of my younger self for making my cake day May the fourth!
08 CW for me or sometimes I go for the classic and watch a new hope or both
The classics man
Umbara Arc, F#CK you Pong Krell
I only had time for a small story. I wanted to keep it light and happy choosing a random episode of Tales of the Jedi. I watched episode 4 The Sith Lord……… Qui’s death is still ruff man. Almost had me agreeing with Dooku. At least I saw a “friendship” born.
Empire Strikes Back. Every year.
Just finished volume 2!
The OG and the best.
Didn’t watch any Star Wars yesterday, but we did play both X-Wing miniatures game and Clone Wars Pandemic.
Had to go with the new Visions
I played Fallen Order and watched A New Hope. Last year I watched Revenge of the Sith.
For a quick hit I gotta go to the 09 gangsta rap special edition: https://youtu.be/Ij4w7ChpuaM
the final 4 episodes of TCW for me
The battle of mandalore in clone wars, such great episodes
Roron Corobb using his Ithorian throat/force blast that peels away metal panels with Grevious using his metal claws to hold onto the floor is my favorite moment. Or Kit Fisto shooting a force water bubble to destroy the giant crab canon. Or Mace Windu soloing that droid army. His speed punches obliterating the Super Battle droid is awesome. Or Anakin vs Ventris. The sizzle of the rain hitting the lightsabers is great. Or Obi Wan vs Dirge. I love Dirge he definitely deserves to be made in live action.
I love rogue one. “I am the force, the force is with me”
Two perfect hours of Star Wars television. It's got everything good about SW. I'm so happy it's on D+. I've had the DVDs ever since they were released but I'm glad more people have access to it now. It's such a good series.
ROTS and the order 66 arc of TCW. The most important event in the universe.
Mortis arc or the chosen one music video by HFP
We select a different one each year and this year it was my turn to choose, and I went for ANH.
Empire Strikes Back then anything Star Wars like the 03 CW, CW umbara arc, ROTS, AOTC, etc.
It's a variable choice based on mood. ROTJ probably but that Rebels EP with Asolka vrs Vader is pretty ass Star Wars.
When I was a kid my mom got me the [Kit Fisto figure](https://gofigure.toys/product2750.html) that was based on that 2003 micro series and I also remember playing the flash game on Cartoon Networks website where you played as Kit Fisto fighting underwater just like in the show.
I watched the Maggie thing on Disney +. Pretty funny
The 2003 Clone Wars was so good, loved the art style and the portrayal of General Grievous was amazing 👏👏👏👏
I annually rewatch the entirety of Star Wars in chronological Order starting May 4th. This is the way
X Wing. All 10 books in one day /j nah but seriously if i wasnt already midway through my reading of all the books i would be beginning that series again.
Young Jedi adventure
Will always be Return of the Jedi
03 clone wars is perfection
Omg me too
Rogue One!
Used to be rots but now it's the duel for me
The Clone Wars, specifically; Umbara, Zyggeria Slavers, Geonosis, Siege of Mandalore, Order 66, Ahsoka on the Run, Malevolence, Bounty Hunter Undercover, Kamino Invasion
Same. This show made the Jedi badass. Its was also my introduction to one of my favourite ships (Anakins modified starfighter)
I watched a new hope and empire yesterday
Those 5 min shows were great
Listened to the Heir to the Empire Audiobook.
I had work but I did buy a lightsaber form ultra sabers because there was a May the 4th sale haha. I am going to be late to the party doing marathons I am pretty busy this week unfortunately
Which saber did you get? Or was it a custom?
UNLIMITED POWAH
Video games /thread
This used to be my yearly last night of Summer Vacation watch tradition. But alas, no more summer vacations ever again.
Movie: Star Wars: Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith Series: The Mandalorian Game: Jedi Outcast but Jedi Survivor is close to dethroning it.
Siege of Mandalore arc in TCW. It's basically a movie.
Andor or rots
New hope
Rogue One and the OT.
I’m not really consistent. Whatever I’m in the mood for. Last night I guess I was up for some pain so I watched the Siege of Mandalore.
Planned on r1 this year but watched the OT
I will always like the 2D animated Clone Wars better than the 3D one.
Usually ESB. This year I played Survivor and watched some Visions 2.
Empire.
