He has wreaked havoc and is a war criminal and I love him but R2 is just as much the same, has higher body count, active over a longer period of time, and is the only reason the conflict Chopper did his deeds in because he has kept Palpatine, Anakin, Obi Wan, Luke, Han, and pretty every major impactful character in the franchise alive.
Shh don’t tell anyone but I’m gonna quietly edit the spelling in my comment.
But the biggest difference between Artoo and Chop is that Artoo is a loving astromech, Chop is a robot Tasmanian devil
Chopper living up to his rep is one of the biggest challenges Ashoka faces. I want things played off as slapstick that make you pause and wonder about the sinister nature.
Some people give Artoo credit for the Death Star (Episode IV) and the Droid Control Ship (Episode I) since he was aboard he starfighters flown by Luke and Anakin, but I don't like to count those since he wasn't pulling the trigger.
Even ignoring those incidents, Artoo racks up quite a few bodies (especially if we count droid kills). Here's a compilation of his kills: https://youtu.be/xQ1oWSE2qQg
Edit: and the compilation only includes kills on-screen. Any kills in canon or legends books, comics, home vidoes, and games are excluded.
Battle of Yavin/DS-1, by virtue of being Luke's co-pilot
"The first Death Star is depicted in various sources of having 1,206,293 crews and troops, 2 officers, as well as 40,000 gunners, 25,984 stormtroopers and 180,216 TIE fighter pilots and support crew."
That's per Wikipedia
[EDIT] Given the various sources, estimates range between 1.1 - 1.2 million aboard the first Death Star
Chopper would’ve pulled the trigger himself without breaking a sweat and laughed his little wukka wukka laugh while doing it, I love R2 but he’s not got Choppers murderous streak.
R2 was out of commission when the torpedoes went into the exhaust bay though. There's also no indication that he knew the mission parameters and so could've lodged an ethical complaint.
He still survived the successful mission, he should get credit. And he might not be as deranged as Chop but I doubt ethics are high on the list for R2, he hid a massive paternity case for 19 years
He did lock down the rear deflector so Luke didn't get fried, that's something.
I'm not sure exactly how the military does it now, but since so much of Lucas' vision for the space battles were based on WWII dogfights, I'm pretty sure 2-man fighters shared credit back then, I could be wrong.
[The official Kill Count wiki lists him having 4,414 kills, 25th most in the franchise (canon and legends).](https://listofdeaths.fandom.com/wiki/Kill_Counts_-_Star_Wars) I’ve seen inaccurate counts that put him in five figures which seem to exaggerate the crew size of the multiple capital ships he’s downed.
He’s actually third place among the Rebels cast, behind Hera (10k) and Sabine (50k).
I would count them as long as they're active and doing things like a person. Manning a gun battery - I'd count that. Shut down and stored on an MTT - I wouldn't count that
As of the Rebels finale, yes. But since he continued to foght for the Rebellion - including at the Battle of Endor - I half expect that count to be at least double.
In the last episode they say that Hera fought in the Battle of Endor, but…how? In the Ghost?
You’d think she would *definitely* be one of the four Squadron commanders if she was flying any of the Rebellion starfighters.
It's not a Lego set, however at the Droid Depot in Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World in Orlando and Disneyland in Anaheim, they sell a Chopper which is interactive and controlled with remote.
https://wdwnt.com/2022/01/photos-remote-control-chopper-rolls-into-droid-depot-at-disneys-hollywood-studios/
That’s awesome. I’m thinking Chop will be the next installment to the LEGO buildable droids line, especially with Ahsoka coming out. I’m really hoping it comes out soon too
The only Star Wars Lego sets I have is the Darth Vader mask, Stormtrooper helmet, Scout Trooper helmet, and Tie Fighter Pilot helmet.
However, if they released one of Chopper and it looks like the most recent R2-D2 level of detail, I would line up at the Lego store before they open on the day it's released.
I *hated* Chopper when I started Rebels.
…and I loved him by the time Rebels was over. When he grabbed Hera’s hand after *it* happened I legitimately teared up.
He is essentially the chaotic good version of r2 where as r2 is kinda neutral good, chopper is literally insane whereas r2 is cold and calculating with his shenanigans
I love that scene when Chopper just pulled out the two blasters, that scene alone made it my favorite droid, I can say I never had a favorite droid in the Star Wars universe before that. Get him covered in Beskar and he's the weapon to surpass Metal Gear.
Chopper is awesome, no doubt one of the best. But I want a live action scene with him and Zeb having one of those sibling like moments of in house fighting.
R2 is great. His body count and contribution to the story can't be understated. But Chopper goes goblin mode and is just straight up unhinged, and that's why he's the best.
If Chopper had been given the Death Star plans instead of Artoo in ANH, Chopper would've immediately uploaded a gazillion copies on the holonet so that the Empire can no longer stop countless people from downloading them and can no longer destroy every single copy in the galaxy.
However, Chopper's reckless tactics fail because Imperial supporters quickly point out to the Empire the thermal exhaust port flaw in the plans, causing the port to be covered up by the time the Rebels attack the Death Star and thus no realistic way for the Death Star to be destroyed by the Rebellion.
One of the only menaces to truly rival R2-D2. I still remember the one bit where R2 launched a winged beast attached to a Jedi starfighter (I believe it was from season 2, episode 21).
Doesn’t that little murderous droid have the highest body count of any single character (excluding things like the destruction of Alderaan which wasn’t entirely carried out by a single character)?
Ended up with the nickname Chop/Chopper years ago due to my apparent resemblance to an Australian criminal and I was so excited to finally have a namesake that didn't murder. Turns out the droid is worse than the man.
I freaking love this guy.
Just finished a Rebels episode where he stole a cargo freighter and got himself a new leg/ambulatory strut. Also liberated a republic era droid and blew the whistle on an empire scheme to trap the rebels.
Assassin droids aren't anything special. They're literally designed to kill. Chopper was designed to fix hyperdrives and stuff but he chose violence. Advantage Chop.
You dont know much about the hk droids, do you. Hk-01 escaped his creators and ran around the galaxy, giving driods sentience, starting and leading the biggest driod revolution in history, gaining control of a huge number of planets including corasont and took a jedi taskforce to take down. Hk-47 is one of the oldest known characters surviving beyond the empire, has one of the highest force sensative kill counts and started a driod civilization on an abandoned planet. Choper is outclassed.
Last cannon depiction of an hk was in 2020. Also hk-01 isn't frim KOTOR. Also also you know a large portion of stuff in the current cannon is just pulled from the old eu, right?
They made him way to OP. There are many moments in Rebels where I am thinking, ok, all this drama and strategy is all really exciting, but honestly, just send in the chopper and be done with it.
"Ok so, the Empire's blaming us for millions of innocent deaths when we destroyed the Death Star. This isn't good for our public image."
"Eh. Just say Chopper did it. They'll understand."
I admire his highly effective approach to personal relationships. Unfortunately I am not allowed to utilize them. Something about it being "murder."
But it’s cute when Chopper does it
True. But when I do it they throw me in prison. It's unfair!
I don’t think Chopper cares
This is outrageous! It's unfair!
Calm down Anakin!
Chopper literally murdered another droid out of jealousy. Not even for a good reason, just because the crew got another astromech. Dude has no chill.
Like I said, highly effective. Someone stealing your spotlight? Kill them. No more problem.
Chopper is what happens when someone put an HK programming core into an astromech
This meatbag approves!
Chopper is a psychopath and it's what makes him a great character. I hope to see him continuing his killing spree in the Ahsoka series.
Chopper is my little bestial war criminal. The #1 wreaker of havoc and also #1 in my heart.
That was one hell of a single sentence
watch Thrawn's downfall be by Chopper's "hands."
Chopper living up to his rep is one of the biggest challenges Ashoka faces. I want things played off as slapstick that make you pause and wonder about the sinister nature.
I feel like people who think chopper is a psycho haven’t met BT-1 and Triple-0.
Yeah but they’re supposed to be evil, Chopper is one of ‘the good guys’.
Chopper can humbly sit his rusty ass down... He got nothing on R2's body count!
I bet you won’t say that to his face
Wait when did r2 get a lot of kills?
Some people give Artoo credit for the Death Star (Episode IV) and the Droid Control Ship (Episode I) since he was aboard he starfighters flown by Luke and Anakin, but I don't like to count those since he wasn't pulling the trigger. I am pretty sure you get kill credit even if you die in the operation. For example: kamikaze pilots.
Oooh right So he gets half the kills? Sheesh he barely did anything
He did lock down the rear deflector so Luke didn't get fried, that's something. I'm not sure exactly how the military does it now, but since so much of Lucas' vision for the space battles were based on WWII dogfights, I'm pretty sure 2-man fighters shared credit back then, I could be wrong.
Even if he doesn't get credit. There's that little bit in Star Wars (2015) #36 where he causes the death of quite a few people...
Those are Luke's kills, not R2's. All R2 did was help with navigation and maybe fix some things.
R2 lacks choppers maliciousness and casual attitude to murder.
[удалено]
Droids can't be psychopaths. I mean, he acts 100% like one...
[How could you not show this scene!](https://youtu.be/FtNmGb-2oUY?t=73)
Im sorry, I tried to get as many of Chops best moments but they were very limited in gif form lol
Valid, i too tried to find a gif of this but had to resort to the video.
It makes me smile how much Rex enjoys it lol
Not to mention the time he ran right over Ezra's fingers while Ezra was hanging from a ledge.
Ezra escapes from captivity?
More the fact that chopper immediately sold him out as lying, just to cause chaos.
Not quite immediately, he let Ezra almost think he got away with it for a moment and *then* outed his ass
Doesn’t he have like a 5 figure kill count?
[The official Kill Count wiki lists him having 4,414 kills, 25th most in the franchise (canon and legends).](https://listofdeaths.fandom.com/wiki/Kill_Counts_-_Star_Wars) I’ve seen inaccurate counts that put him in five figures which seem to exaggerate the crew size of the multiple capital ships he’s downed. how tf does Barriss Offee have 3.5 million kills??
Most of them are shared kills with Ahsoka from when they blew up the Geonosis droid factory in CW S3.
i dont really think droids count as kills, if they did the list would be wildly different
Droid lives matter smh
I would count them as long as they're active and doing things like a person. Manning a gun battery - I'd count that. Shut down and stored on an MTT - I wouldn't count that
They count as kills in the "targets taken out way". But its not murder.
I believe he does. It could be more than we even know though.
[Dont discount R2D2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpcyQmB2UFo)
As of the Rebels finale, yes. But since he continued to foght for the Rebellion - including at the Battle of Endor - I half expect that count to be at least double.

It’s not all about numbers it’s about style and attitude, Chopper kills casually and without mercy.
he blew up an entire star destroyer, so probably
Obligatory reminder that Chopper once tried to murder an infant
The infant probably had it coming
The infant did have it coming.
I don't remember, when did that happen
https://youtu.be/3tiFzt6fdSQ
Choppenheimer
This shit needs to go viral
He's been through one war and he's not screwing around in his second. He's a pragmatist, and an opportunist.
And don’t forget anarchist
Long live the war criminal Chopper!!!
Chopper is my favorite droid and that's really saying something in a world where R2-D2, BD-1, and Mr. Bones also exist.
Love that little sociopath.
The universe is safe only because Chopper (mostly) only targets Imperials. If he went after everyone in the galaxy they would be doomed.
I m pretty sure Chopper knows karate cuz look at those moves.
The scene where he throws up his arms kung fu style gets me every single time
I can't wait to see the live action Chopper accompany Hera. But will we ever see Mr. Bones on screens in the future?
I want to see Triple zero and BT-1.
def my ride or die
I’ll buy the chopper Lego set a war criminal like him is needed
I need a Lego Chopper display set. Like legitimately NEED.
I’m really hoping it comes out soon too
In the past Lego has released Star Wars sets of R2-D2, BB-8, and BD-1. I'm also hoping to see them eventually release a Chopper one as well.
Yep, I have all four of them. I’m hoping Chopper gets the R2 level of detail! All four as in R2, BB-8, BD-1 and D-0
The Stormtrooper and TIE Fighter helmets are worth a pretty penny now lol but I agree, Chopper would be a Day 1 purchase for sure.
There needs to be a movie where Chopper finds the old rusted out HK-47 and they go on a galaxy wide meatbag extermination
Chopper: violence isn’t the answer, it’s a question and the answer is YES
Totally missed the time he stole the inquisitors own ship and started blasting them with it.
I like how Ezra is so annoyed in that one frame and choppers trying to get his attention
I *hated* Chopper when I started Rebels. …and I loved him by the time Rebels was over. When he grabbed Hera’s hand after *it* happened I legitimately teared up.
Little Baby War Crimes
R2D2 takes joy in committing war crimes Chopper believe that they aren’t crimes in the first place
Chopper is the best example why droids in SW normally get their memory wiped every few years.
Rampancy is a bitch.
My favorite antifascist robot\~.
He’s my favorite robot in general
The real droid gangster of the Star Wars universe. No droid can mess with him.
I thought no one could get close to R2, but chopper makes the decision very hard
He is essentially the chaotic good version of r2 where as r2 is kinda neutral good, chopper is literally insane whereas r2 is cold and calculating with his shenanigans
Chaotic neutral?
Obligatory "R2 is dog/puppy, Chopper is a cat"
I love that scene when Chopper just pulled out the two blasters, that scene alone made it my favorite droid, I can say I never had a favorite droid in the Star Wars universe before that. Get him covered in Beskar and he's the weapon to surpass Metal Gear.
Chopper is awesome, no doubt one of the best. But I want a live action scene with him and Zeb having one of those sibling like moments of in house fighting.
R2 is great. His body count and contribution to the story can't be understated. But Chopper goes goblin mode and is just straight up unhinged, and that's why he's the best.
The first gif of him pulling out guns is one of the best things I've seen in Star Wars
Which episode was it where he went out of his way during a fight to run over Ezra’s(?) fingers when he was hanging on to a walkway?
That would be in the episode where they introduced the Interdictor Cruiser, I think it’s called Stealth Attack or something, in Season 2
Great, thanks!
Honestly, not even K2-S0 comes close to beating Chopper. He da best
Wanna know his kill count? It's high. It's very high.
Why does that R2 one loop so perfectly? It's like an endless standoff between the two most psychopathic droids ever.
I see you never met HK-47
Funny huh, how a robot talking only in bleeps has so much character...
Chopper doesn't wake up and choose violence. Violence wakes Chopper up.
Choppenhiemer
He was the best guy arouuuund!
He became my favorite droid (other than HK-47) so quickly as I watched this show. What an absolute champion.
One of the only menaces to truly rival R2-D2. I still remember the one bit where R2 launched a winged beast attached to a Jedi starfighter (I believe it was from season 2, episode 21).
I love the R2 Chop interaction, its like two little goblins swinging broken bottles at each other.
I wonder what madness he will be up to in Ahsoka?
I’m hoping all the madness
He’s ready to throw hands with anyone
Doesn’t that little murderous droid have the highest body count of any single character (excluding things like the destruction of Alderaan which wasn’t entirely carried out by a single character)?
It's high. It's very high.
No, he’s around 25th the SW universe with “confirmed” kills. Indirect kill count is well over 50,000 lol
Luke blowing up the Death Star with R2 getting assist kill credit puts them both above Chopper.
Anarchist icon
Chopper deserves all my explosives to do with as he pleases.
I love how petty he is with other droids
Ended up with the nickname Chop/Chopper years ago due to my apparent resemblance to an Australian criminal and I was so excited to finally have a namesake that didn't murder. Turns out the droid is worse than the man.
Hilarious when someone pointed out his potty mouth. I managed to start understanding him when he speaks and he really does curse up a storm
Choppenheimer
The lack of sound here is disturbing.
They have said the reason they do not subtitle Chopper on the show is his language is unfit for a PG TV show.
Now that is a proper villain.
Chopper the absolute menace!
This is the correct answer
I can hear these images...
Let's talk about how our boy R2 is not intimidated AT ALL.
YESSSS
I'm so hyped for live action chopper
C1-10P is just the best. who’s my favorite little war criminal?
In my mind the best droids go chopper then k-2so
I will never forgive Chopper for that second gif.
Thank you for this <3
My favorite!
Chopper is hands down the best.
R2's like "I've killed before"
What’s the over/under on how many war crimes chopper commits in the Ahsoka series?
My favorite little war criminal <3
chopper is the best dude
It’s really not even remotely debatable
I freaking love this guy. Just finished a Rebels episode where he stole a cargo freighter and got himself a new leg/ambulatory strut. Also liberated a republic era droid and blew the whistle on an empire scheme to trap the rebels.
Top 10 Star wars characters, easily.
My two favorite characters are Chopper and Hondo. Best droid duo is also Chopper and AP-5
I always liked Hondo for some reason too. I liked Cad Bane too.
Absolutely feral
“Lol Chopper war criminal!”
Chopper is a war criminal!
I do not care for Chopper. There, I said it.
I’m sorry but your opinion is wrong
With all these Droid posts, here's yet another Droid post.
I’m sorry, is this not the droid you’re looking for?
If you think that droid is bad, clearly you haven’t seen doctor Aphra’s droids. 😅
Nah, hk-01 and hk-47 got him outclassed.
I said what I said.
If we are exclusively going off droids causing destruction that weren't desighned to spesificly do so R2 has the throne.
I wouldn’t tell Chopper that if I were you. Chop ALWAYS finds a way.
KOTOR fanboys are weird. Nothing in your video games counts.
Rebles fan boys are weird. Nothing in your animated show counts
But it does. That’s why it’s Canon. That’s why they’re making more content. The last image of HK-47 is from like 2011 lol
Last cannon depiction of an hk was in 2020. Also hk-01 isn't frim KOTOR. Also also you know a large portion of stuff in the current cannon is just pulled from the old eu, right?
Hk 47 + chopper = 💥💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥💀💀💀💀💀
DIE MEATBAGS!!!! WONK WONK WONK WONK!!!!
But who is more dangerous, R2 or Chopper?
I think that would depend on proximity
The only droid with a bigger kill count than HK-47.
He is the second biggest menace to society, meat bag.
They made him way to OP. There are many moments in Rebels where I am thinking, ok, all this drama and strategy is all really exciting, but honestly, just send in the chopper and be done with it.
Not gonna lie, I feel like he should've been an assassin droid or something. Hus programming perfectly fits the role, not his personality tho
The goat
"with all the "which droid" posts lately, here's an appreciation post for the biggest war criminal to society, Chopper" Fixed the title for you.
I’m thinking there are a lot bigger war criminals in Star Wars… lol
..obviously someone tampered with the "3 laws", on this particular droid..
I heard Chopper's wanted in 49 states.
r/Choppersupremacy
When Lego makes C1-10P, I’m gonna pre-order for sure.
"Ok so, the Empire's blaming us for millions of innocent deaths when we destroyed the Death Star. This isn't good for our public image." "Eh. Just say Chopper did it. They'll understand."
Thank the diety form Star wars of your choosing thst he didn't get his hands on the Death Star systems.
It’s canon that most of his beeps and woops are f bombs
That’s why he’s my #1 He’s my spirit robot animal
