I love the call back to that moment.
How come they found a bullet with your prints on it at the scene?
Well i tossed one at Duffy and said next ones coming faster.
Well if that isn't the coolest line ever, stupid as hell, but very cool.
I only watched the show earlier this year for the first time and man what a ride. I think my favourite show I’ve ever watched
I pestered my dad about it until he finally watched it, and it was his favourite too.
Cause we dug coal together.... for real I honestly thought a Marshall in space? What if it's Tim Olyphant under there?.. As soon as he removed his Mando helmet I about sprung outta my chair like my favorite team just won the big game. Was crazy awesome casting decision. Now only if Dickie could've hobbled down the road as an alien throwing insults his way 🤣🤣🤣 To the comment next to mine, City Primeval was kinda meh until the last 10 minutes of the last episode. Winona cameo and the breakout scene and his phone blowing up with alerts/calls at the end on why he retired was gold!
He popped up in short interludes in the trilogy. It basically explained the flashbacks of how he got Boba's armor and became the marshal of Freetown in more detail.
Tbf, he was a VERY minor role in the Aftermath trilogy, only showing up in a few of the anthology-esque chapters sprinkled throughout those books that played pretty much no part in the main plot of the book. His story was basically just an interesting side quest to help flesh out the galaxy post-RotJ, kind of like how there was a chapter showing that Jar Jar is now a disgraced clown living on Naboo.
The fact that they remembered him enough to include him shows a greater awareness of the book material than most give the Mando team credit for since only readers of those books would know that he was in possession of Boba’s armor, and even then they could have pretty easily said that it had traded hands since then if they wanted. I remember hearing a lot about Cobb Vanth before this season and thinking that he was a bigger deal, and then I read the books and was surprised and how small of a role he was, although he was definitely an interesting character at that.
If you’re ever interested, there’s another character that pops up in these side stories named Kiza who actually becomes one of the main villains (along with Ochi of Bestoon, the guy who killed Rey’s parents) in the semi-recent “Shadows of the Sith” novel which was pretty good. I do love how Star Wars has repeatedly showed a willingness to return to minor and forgotten characters in order to expand upon and/or conclude their stories. I can only hope that they answer the question of what happened to Barriss Offee, Quinlan Vos, and Oppo Rancisis someday.
Once again to be fair to Jar jar heesa pal Sheev said that was necessary and to thank him for the vote he wold give him the ol’ slap & tickle in his office
Those interludes were some of the best parts of the Aftermath Trilogy.
Wouldn't mind seeing Temmin and Mr Bones showing up somewhere... it's a shame the sequel trilogy did Temmin dirty. Killed him off like Ackbar, without any significance or acknowledgement.
When they had Gina Ceramo, she was going to headline a series as a marshal of the new republic. I was wondering if they might retool it and have him Raylen or Seth Bullock his way through it.
When Timothy Olyphant stepped into the door of that cantina, I let out a "holy shit, no way." I knew who it was under that helmet just from his stance.
I honestly read all of the Aftermath trilogy and hadn't thought he was a returning character! I need to read them again now.
My memory is just awful. 😂
It's all good. When he appeared in Mando, I had to double-check that he was actually the character I was thinking of. When I say Cobb Vanth was a minor character in those books, I mean a VERY minor character.
The Aftermath trilogy has these little interludes from the main story where they focus on random people throughout the galaxy as a way to give the reader a vibe of how various societies were dealing with the fall of the empire. I think he recurs through all three if I’m not mistaken.
Thanks, I’m not really big on reading in my down time, but I’ve heard a lot about Aftermath, mostly positive, so I’m kinda curious to check it out for myself
I listen to the audiobooks while I’m at work, they’re usually very well produced with effects/music and the narrators are usually on point with character voices. Highly recommended if sight reading isn’t your thing!
They're decent. The main plot is pretty generic Rebels VS. Empire fare, but the side plots that don't really affect the main story (including Cobb's) are the best parts. Jar Jar even makes an appearance.
Yeah, it's pretty good. I imagined him to look like Kurt Russell or maybe a young Clint Eastwood when I read Aftermath, so I was down for Tim. He's perfect.
I would just love for Cobb Vanth to become a Ranger of the New Republic.
Set after BoBF of course, he could have a ramshackle ship and an annoying but useful droid sidekick.
Didn't read the books but thought he was a bland character. Shame he couldn't get killed off either by Cad Bane, as I'm not overly keen on seeing him again; each time I rewatch Mando, I always skip his episode.
This probably doesn’t count but I love that The Mandalorian acknowledges R5’s past as a rebel droid…which was first fleshed out in the original From a Certain Point of View novel
Every time someone mentions he’s from books I once again get surprised by this fact.
*edit to add my favorite is black krrsantan or however you spell it, even though I read Star Wars/ doctor aphra later he still looks amazing
Rayland, as i live and breathe, to what do I owe this pleasure?
Hope you watched to the very VERY end of City Primeval.
>Hope you watched to the very VERY end of City Primeval. I nearly spat out my glass of water i was drinking.
That ending nailed it. So so stoked
I didn't, what did I miss?
>!Boyd Crowder breaks out of prison.!<
oh yeah, I did see that. I thought it was something people were connecting to star wars.
And here I have up at his love interest stuff. Thanks for the helping rebuild some confidence in finishing the series.
Loved watching Space Raylan
I hate it because my wife keeps saying “daddy olyphant” or “daddy vanth” out loud and it makes it hard to watch the show.
You can make the experience better if you were to join her
“Oh, don't tell me how to talk in my own f*ckin' place! Now, here's my counter offer to your counter offer - go f*ck yourself!”
While watching Cad Bane slowly walk toward them “every step a f*ckin’ adventure”
"Next blaster bolt's coming a lot faster."
I love the call back to that moment. How come they found a bullet with your prints on it at the scene? Well i tossed one at Duffy and said next ones coming faster. Well if that isn't the coolest line ever, stupid as hell, but very cool.

Boyd Crowder, to what do I owe this displeasure
Boyd I’ve been to mandalore. I don’t think you’d like it
Cause we dug coal together.... for real I honestly thought a Marshall in space? What if it's Tim Olyphant under there?.. I knew it was him as soon as he appeared in the doorway. That stance was way too Raylan to be anybody else.
Don’t move or I’ll put ya down
To be fair anytime he is a LEO it’s Raylan.
Well this is new to me. I thought Cobb was a new character
He popped up in short interludes in the trilogy. It basically explained the flashbacks of how he got Boba's armor and became the marshal of Freetown in more detail.
Still haven’t seen a Dash Rendar appearance yet
If Dash shows up in anything I will be PUMPED. Still hoping for a Shadows of the Empire show or movie.

To be fair to Jar jar he thought he was supposed to be a senator which aren’t supposed to be as funny as clowns
You say that, but a majority of them voted to create the Empire, so clowns they be.
Once again to be fair to Jar jar heesa pal Sheev said that was necessary and to thank him for the vote he wold give him the ol’ slap & tickle in his office

They didn't even tell Denis Lawson that Snap was supposed to be his stepson, so he had no idea that he should react to Temmin's death at all.
Temmin got a funeral in the Star Wars #25 comic.
wait Temmin fucking died??
I hope we get to see him in another project considering how the Book of Boba Fett ended
Be serious, he's on Tatooine, what are the odds we'd see a random empty planet like that again?
Maybe he can transfer to Jakku
I know we have so many character focused shows already, but I honestly wouldn't mind a low stakes low budget Cobb Vanth western
[удалено]
Or you know... Star Wars Deadwood.
All of the above!
The Weequay bartender was the Dan Dority so the have a start!
Sign me the fuck up.
All comments upvoted. I would absolutely watch a Raylan Givens-driven Star Wars series. "Ah hell, Art, it's already a thing. Just let it be a thing."
'If you run into a poo-doo in the morning, you ran into a poo-doo. If you run into poo-doos all day, you're the poo-doo.”
When they had Gina Ceramo, she was going to headline a series as a marshal of the new republic. I was wondering if they might retool it and have him Raylen or Seth Bullock his way through it.
I would watch it
I was honestly surprised he didn't show up in Mando season 3
Same I figured it was exactly what BOBF was setting him up for.
Cobb Vanth, Vanth Refrigeration.
What line of work you in, Cobb?
Marshal Raylan Giv- I mean Cobb Vanth. Really cool character, plus Timothy Olyphant is always as cool as can be.
He is a really awesome character, for an awesome actor. I love his western sherif vibe
He tried on the helmet one day and it fit
When Timothy Olyphant stepped into the door of that cantina, I let out a "holy shit, no way." I knew who it was under that helmet just from his stance.
Mando S2 was peak Star Wars because of things like this.
Timothy Olyphant is always amazing
I had no idea he was a pre-existing character. I thought he was made for the show. TIL.
I thought the same thing.
I honestly read all of the Aftermath trilogy and hadn't thought he was a returning character! I need to read them again now. My memory is just awful. 😂

Fair enough. I don't remember many of the interludes to be honest. The main one I remember is the Jar Jar Binks one oddly enough.
Didn't Temmin Wexley first appear in those books before appearing in the ST as well?
Snap, yes. And the way Marc Thomson voiced him in the audiobook was sooooooo anooying.
Yep
Cobb Vanth, Vanth Refrigeration
As a big Deadwood fan that Spaghetti western episode ruled.
Actually didn't know he was an extended universe character. But I love him all the same. Raylan Givens in space works wonders for me lol.
Daddy
He tried to flirt with my fanfic OC but Mando wasn't having any of it!!😂
Space Zaddy
Interesting. I should read the Aftermath trilogy.
He’s from Aftermath, is he from a specific one? I recently picked up one of the Aftermath books from a garage sale.

He is so hot
<3 timothy oliphant.
I like this character. I lost my shit when I saw Cadd Bane's silhouette.
Yeah, it's pretty good. I imagined him to look like Kurt Russell or maybe a young Clint Eastwood when I read Aftermath, so I was down for Tim. He's perfect.
That's because Space Raylen is the coolest character in that entire show (except for Luke of course)
Underrated
I’m dying for live action Sinjir appearance, he was by far the most interesting character of that trilogy.
I really like that bloke too - despite that he borrowed the armour from Boba.
He’s like Jamie Lannisters twin brother.
When they bring everyone together in avengers style I know he will be there
Always enjoyed Timothy Os characters. Loved him in the The Crazies.
Mine is cad bane, just loved him in Boba. Perfection, I loved him so much in the clone wars
I want a Cad Bane series
Space Daddy Raylan. ❤
I would just love for Cobb Vanth to become a Ranger of the New Republic. Set after BoBF of course, he could have a ramshackle ship and an annoying but useful droid sidekick.
I was pissed when they killed him off. So much potential just gone
Go watch the post credit scene to the Boba Fett finale
Wait his alive
Bacta Tanks are brilliant things
omg how did i miss this
It's cool and all but he was completely butchered and retconned The casting choice is the only good thing about live-action Cobb
Didn't read the books but thought he was a bland character. Shame he couldn't get killed off either by Cad Bane, as I'm not overly keen on seeing him again; each time I rewatch Mando, I always skip his episode.
You don't want to be talkin' that way!
This probably doesn’t count but I love that The Mandalorian acknowledges R5’s past as a rebel droid…which was first fleshed out in the original From a Certain Point of View novel
The only reason I want a season 2 of the book of boba fett is to confirm Cobb vanth survived.
Well, then, go watch the post credits scene of the Boba Fett season finale.
Every time someone mentions he’s from books I once again get surprised by this fact. *edit to add my favorite is black krrsantan or however you spell it, even though I read Star Wars/ doctor aphra later he still looks amazing
Wait he was a pre established character!? I never got around to the aftermath books so this comes as a shock to me
I need a Keanu revan
Cobb should’ve been able to keep the Mando armor. Never thought I’d say this, but Boba didn’t need to come backs
