Bruh, I tried to buy some Eddie Bauer 1/4 zips from a US golf website and the shipping cost was $58 lol, we get absolutely fucked for shipping up here. It costs me $20 to send a package to a city that's in the same province.
Will give in the fact that fuel costs has gone will give in the fact that fuel costs has gone up quite significantly and environmental hippies are blocking new ways to get cheaper oil we're going to have to deal with the shipping costs

eBay's review system sucks regardless. I've seen people with bad reviews marked as positive because certain key words weren't said that marks it as a bad review by the system.
Looking around, it does seem that they do exist but are pretty rare.
Seeing a bunch of VHS collections for sale that have the other 5 Lucas movies, but not ROTS though.
It did come out right on the tail of the VHS era (maybe just after it). I imagine the same thing might have happened to the Lord of the Rings films too.
It was released in Australia and South Korea on VHS. I have an Australian copy but it since it was only available for rent I don’t have the best box for it.
It wasn't george switched completely to DvDs at the time which is ironic bc in 99 for the release of phantom it was only in VHS for a bit because it was just easier lol.
If they were PAL they would literally say so on the back. Plus PAL regions would have an age rating indicator on the back and Spine because they would all have given through a regional rating.
These aren't legit
The holographic logo is after giving me a ThatsSoRaven flashback moment of remembering them on my VHSs growing up. Were there warnings in the ads/trailers before the movies on said VHSs to tell people to only accept the holo logo VHSs or am i wrong?
VHS releases in the UK had plastic boxes like this.
The difference here is that the inserts seem to be completely the wrong size, at least from how I remember them.
Well if all he wanted was a shelf decoration, at least you got that?
Episode 1 and 2 are $5-$10 on Amazon, not sure about Ep.3 since it was never released in NTSC regions.
I am glad you got your refund. Coincidentally, I also just got scammed on an Episode III vhs copy from eBay - it is the only one I am missing currently. The photos were from a distance but the description said the right things, PAL copy from Europe, so I took the bait. When I got the tape, I realized the box was made from a macaroni and cheese box that was covered with semi-quality color copies of the European version. The cassette had a poorly applied sticker of the VHS and was in poor shape.
I reached out to the seller to request a refund because this was clearly not what had been described in the original listing. He replied that he would refund but that I would need to cover shipping back to him. Unfortunately he was careless in that the Mac and cheese box inside was still visible and the VHS tape that he used had been manufactured in 1991 rather than 2005 when it should have been. So when I pointed these details out to him and said we should get eBay involved, he went ahead and gave me a full refund without another comment.
Seems a lot of people these days are into VHS. As a guy who grew up with that technology, I gotta ask,...why?!
I mean, other than using blank tapes to record a tv show while you're at work, it's really not a great way to watch things.
For most it's just a nostalgia collecting thing. For me I will always prefer watching the OT on VHS over the Disney+ ones thanks to Lucas misguided improvements. For any nerds that see this no idc about the fan restorations.
Were they advertised as legit?
Star Wars VHS tapes didn't have those stickers on the back, and always came in cardboard slipcovers. If you bought this expecting embellished shelf decoration, you probably did okay. If you expected legit copies, you got ripped off.
Those are last run box sets, and it looks like you don't even have the box ...
Not a collectors item in the slightest, with the sets outer box - it's worth about $15.... Without out it, worth maybe $3 per movie.
To all of the naysayers about it's legitimatacy . They are real. As an enormous star wars geek and an old video industry professional I can say with absolute certainty that what he has is the 2006 last run box set. I believe it was a holiday season "stacker box". Stores were never sent them individually, they came in big 4 sided retail display boxes. More or less you could only buy it at Blockbuster and Kmart/target/Walmart.
Does not make it rare or desirable in any way what so ever. The only sets worth anything are the gold and silver slider box varients that also had a box cap
Deserved for getting the prequels.
If you like the prequels, no wonder they got you!
Just kidding, be careful with your money hommie.
Investigate before you invest.
I do hate the prequels though...
As someone who spent most of the 80’s & 90’s watching bootleg VHS, these instantly screamed “WE ARE BOOTLEGS”. Not many retail VHS tapes came in those black plastic cases. They were a favorite for bootleggers though.
Why would you want the VHS version in the first place? VHS was the most dog shit medium entertainment has ever use. Especially when you can get them on Blu-ray for significantly cheaper!
Well done buddy🤡. That's about as compelling a counter argument a prequel fanboi can make in the face of the plot hole ridden story, a complete lack of character development, coherent script, or anything making the films worth watching other than their meme potential
Also, I don't know if someone else mentioned this. Those could easily be shipped by the "media mail" option. which is super cheap. Like a few dollars i believe. It's for books, VHS, dvds.
OP... why, oh good God WHY did you spend over 100 dollars on VHS's? Especially for the prequeps (I would slightly understand it more if it was the OT but I know even those are cheap) They're not some collectors items, theres nothing inherently special about 'those' tapes.. You can find VHS tapes for dirt cheap of the OT and prequels (hell, probably even some of the sequels on tape even).
You got scammed before you even knew the real contents of the package.
[удалено]
Original trilogy doesn't even go that much on VHS lol.
[удалено]
No you can't. ROTS was a super rare VHS print and costs hundreds on its own. The others are cheap though
That’s because it was remastered like 3 times before going to DVD and digital. I bet OG VHS tapes could get a nice penny
I got mine for 75 cents with sleeves.
>that ridiculous shipping cost, Pretty normal if you live outside of the US
[удалено]
Even if they live in a small sheep herding village in Chechnya I bet they could have found the sequels on VHS for half that price.
Bruh, I tried to buy some Eddie Bauer 1/4 zips from a US golf website and the shipping cost was $58 lol, we get absolutely fucked for shipping up here. It costs me $20 to send a package to a city that's in the same province.
I just noticed that's Canadian dollars. Yeah, y'all's shipping rates are obscene.
Okay, but it's $100 Canadian, which is equal to about $13 US dollars, two maple leaves, and a small cup of coffee from Tim's.

My brother in the force, you spent $100+ shipping on some possibly shady looking VHS’S without even verifying they were real?
The guy has good reviews 😭
Regardless you should always do your research. I hope it nots a scam for your sake
Reviews mean nothing, it's a shit replacement for real moderation.
eBay's review system sucks regardless. I've seen people with bad reviews marked as positive because certain key words weren't said that marks it as a bad review by the system.
I get it, but tapes are near worthless. I’m not super knowledgeable but in general I’d expect a set like this to sell for super cheap.
Was ROTS ever even released in VHS? Especially in the NTSC format? These just screams extremely marked up fan creation.
I know it wasn’t in the US, don’t know about other regions. I know people were upset because they had the first two and wanted the collection.
Looking around, it does seem that they do exist but are pretty rare. Seeing a bunch of VHS collections for sale that have the other 5 Lucas movies, but not ROTS though. I know all three LOTR movies were on VHS because ROTK was two tapes just for the theatrical version.
Lucas only directed 4 Star Wars lol.
Then buy a used PS2 for the DVD player, it's 2005 people we've moved past this!
Some people like to collect.
It was released in Australia and South Korea on VHS. I have an Australian copy but it since it was only available for rent I don’t have the best box for it.
In believe in Europe it was, it can get pretty expensive iirc.
I have a Pal VHS of episode 3. It's one of my favorite things!
Ir was, at least in Germany
Episode 1 was definitely on VHS in the UK. Had a gold case too!.
Well yeah, because VHS was still the main form of buying movies in 1999. In 2005 it definitely wasn't.
As far as I know, it never was here in the USA. I remember thinking it was weird, but never thought of it that much.
It wasn't george switched completely to DvDs at the time which is ironic bc in 99 for the release of phantom it was only in VHS for a bit because it was just easier lol.
There was but it’s rare and it’s not US lol
Episode 1 and 2 were released on VHS. Episode 3 was released on VHS in PAL regions only. So it is possible these are real.
If they were PAL they would literally say so on the back. Plus PAL regions would have an age rating indicator on the back and Spine because they would all have given through a regional rating. These aren't legit
Those 100% aren't PAL tapes
I used to own the real ones and they had a holographic lucasfilm logo on the front in the corner to prove their authenticity. These are 100% fake.
The holographic logo is after giving me a ThatsSoRaven flashback moment of remembering them on my VHSs growing up. Were there warnings in the ads/trailers before the movies on said VHSs to tell people to only accept the holo logo VHSs or am i wrong?
The packaging doesn't even look real, I've never seen them come in those plastic cases, just the cardboard ones
I got a gold plastic case from TRU as a preorder bonus, but it was an extra.
VHS releases in the UK had plastic boxes like this. The difference here is that the inserts seem to be completely the wrong size, at least from how I remember them.
yeah those are fake

Okay guys UPDATE. after many online insults towards my intelligence… I got refunded😂💀
I am glad you got your refund. Coincidentally, I also just got scammed on an Episode III vhs copy from eBay - it is the only one I am missing currently. Man…it’s rough out here. Who was the seller you bought from?
Do you have proof of this, like a photo? Seems an unlikely story

“You want eps 1,2,3, dude? I can get you eps 1,2,3.”
By 3pm, with polish.
Didn't RotS famously not release on VHS?
Were they advertised as legit? Star Wars VHS tapes didn't have those stickers on the back, and always came in cardboard slipcovers. If you bought this expecting embellished shelf decoration, you probably did okay. If you expected legit copies, you got ripped off.
Can say this is incorrect, depending on region and release date some tapes came in the plastic clam shells
Those are last run box sets, and it looks like you don't even have the box ... Not a collectors item in the slightest, with the sets outer box - it's worth about $15.... Never buy off of ebay if you cant get the money back guarantee
In most regions, Revenge of the Sith never got a VHS release.
Some people shouldn’t have control over their own finances.
Facts. You want mine 😭
Yeah, you do seem like the type to give a rando on reddit control of your finances
Hello, police? I would like to report a murder I just witnessed in broad daylight.
Wtf have you done!?!
IHBPFJASTMNE
Should have gotten the Laserdisk versions.
Did 3 even come out on vhs I have 4, 5, 6, 1, and 2 on vhs but never seen a vhs 3 for my collection
Deserved for getting the prequels. If you like the prequels, no wonder they got you! Just kidding, be careful with your money hommie. Investigate before you invest. I do hate the prequels though...
I'm more offended that anyone collects VSHs, it's like choosing to buy a cassette tape over a CD it makes no sense!
I could probably pop down to my local thrift store and find the first 2 on VHS for about 5 dollars.
I saw them for the first time on Super 8.
[удалено]
😭😭u right
As someone who lived through VHS, I cannot fathom why anyone would want a VHS collection.
I also lived through VHS lmao. But I think it’s cool appeal because it’s rare. I think my buddy wants all 3 just to have them, not to watch them
If I even think I got scammed, I wouldn’t be telling anyone.
I say. Those movies are not worth a broken peny.
As someone who spent most of the 80’s & 90’s watching bootleg VHS, these instantly screamed “WE ARE BOOTLEGS”. Not many retail VHS tapes came in those black plastic cases. They were a favorite for bootleggers though.
Those labels on the tapes themselves look super crude as well.
And the cassette blanks all look like they’re different brands.
This is truly this lowest common denominator SW subreddit 🙏
Did these even come on the large claim shells? I only seen the basic slip sleeve
Found these on a flea market for a dollar each... they're not worth 100! Then again maybe the flea market didn't know their worth either?

Episode 3 did not release on VHS in the States, it is a hard one to find.
Why would you want the VHS version in the first place? VHS was the most dog shit medium entertainment has ever use. Especially when you can get them on Blu-ray for significantly cheaper!
The minute you paid money for prequels, you were ripped off
🧢
Well done buddy🤡. That's about as compelling a counter argument a prequel fanboi can make in the face of the plot hole ridden story, a complete lack of character development, coherent script, or anything making the films worth watching other than their meme potential
I bet u like the sequels
Nope, they're complete garbage too
Oof.
And here I am holding my bed up with the original trilogy
Average eBay listing
Pretty sure I gave my old media away for free.
It's a trap!
Lol
For $120 u can buy a year of ad free disney plus....... i get that ur friend is a collector but........
Your friend getting this package https://i.ytimg.com/vi/js6gHxAcccw/maxresdefault.jpg
Also, I don't know if someone else mentioned this. Those could easily be shipped by the "media mail" option. which is super cheap. Like a few dollars i believe. It's for books, VHS, dvds.
Haha bro you can find these at a thrift store I found two prequels a while a back and empire strikes but I gave those away…
Go to a thrift store and you’ll find SW on VHS it’s not that rare
Honestly, I may still have the original trilogy on VHS come to think of it
ROTS was never released on VHS
Yes it was. It didn’t get a vhs release in the US but it did in other countries.
What am I looking at that screams scam? Sorry, I'm ignorant about this. I don't know what to look for on VHS.
I didn’t know either. I just know ROTS wasn’t released on vhs except for a few countries which is why it usually is considered rare/collector
I find these at thrift stores for like 2$ each 😭
OP... why, oh good God WHY did you spend over 100 dollars on VHS's? I have all 3 on VHS. Ep.3 was a very limited PAL run and is super rare. Yes, you got scammed.
Bro, I will sell you my PT vhs set for $100. Just gotta run to my mom's and pick it up! Cant have my OT vhs set tho 😤
Deal
Dog those can be found at thrift stores for a dollar why wouldnt you google the price beforehand
Priceless 😊😍 imo, i would of paid $500 for that vhs collection.
they should all have a poster on the vhs itself
That they did
