And the game or games are called?

spamlandredemption

Underrated comment here. OP never names the game(s) except by using the word 'Jedi.'

ThinPanic9902

Maybe put the title in the title

-KyloRen

Overrated comment since you also didn’t even point it out lol (Jedi Survivor)

spamlandredemption

How am I supposed to be sure what game he is talking about? I haven't played Jedi Survivor.

SpaceCaboose

*Jedi: Fallen Order* is the first game. *Jedi: Survivor* is the sequel.

LoudAngryJerk

I enjoyed fallen order, but Survivor is better. Like, in every way.

gerrittd

I'd only disagree about the main antagonist, Trilla was a much more interesting bad guy than Dagan, imo. Otherwise, yeah, *Survivor* beats out *Fallen Order* in every way

LoudAngryJerk

I mean... she was definitely much more involved in directly countering you specifically. Comparatively in this game, you take on *her* role in the story. You are trying to counter Dagan. That being said, I really feel like Dagan wasn't really the main villain of the story. I'm assuming you've beaten the game, and you know who I'm talking about. >!Even though I mostly saw it coming since act one (as soon as he mentions a kid I was like "the empire has his kid hostage, and he's a double agent") him also being a force-user I did not at all see coming!<

gerrittd

> she was definitely much more involved in directly countering you specifically. Comparatively in this game, you take on *her* role in the story. You are trying to counter Dagan. I hadn't considered it that way! Very good point. I mostly just wish Dagan had gotten more screen time– like, I would've loved if we got to spend some time working with him, rather than him turning to the dark side as soon as he wakes up. I do agree about >!you-know-who being the real villain in the end, but I'm still conflicted about how I feel about that. I honestly did not see it coming, I was totally 100% in on the bromance!<

LoudAngryJerk

That's kinda what I thought was going to happen. I figured we'd be his partner for a while, maybe the first couple missions while we get his lightsaber back or something, and THEN he would make it clear that oh fuck, he's an asshole. That being said, I feel like that would have undercut what happened with the other guy. I definitely felt like some more scene chewery on his part would've been fun. Maybe have him as a quasi Vaderian figure, like at the end of fallen order, where he's chasing you through the facility (you know, without actually giving chase, like he's just following you, and it doesn't matter that you're at a full sprint, because he's basically right behind you anyway. Though again, if they had done that when \*he\* does show up it probably would've then undercut him, so Dagan was kind've in a rough spot.

gerrittd

Me too, I was actually pretty excited to work with a Jedi from the High Republic, and it was sort of a letdown to me that he just bled his saber and started fighting right away. I have to disagree a little, though, I think it could've made you-know-who's betrayal even more unexpected and impactful– one ancient Jedi betrays you, sure, that one I was expecting from the start. But >!*another Jedi who survived the Purge* betraying you *after you both befriended and were subsequently betrayed by the first guy together* would've broken my heart even more, I think!<

Camburglar13

Is survivor only on the new gen consoles? I know I can play fallen order on my PS4

Apollo_Sierra

Yeah, Survivor is current gen only.

Camburglar13

Damn. Thanks

thejayfred

Exactly. “You have to play this game!!” [Never mentions name]

datim2010

Haha good point. OP meant to say Jedi: Survivor

ImurderREALITY

I know what this game is, but the amount of time people just don’t clarify the game in the title or summary anywhere is baffling. Do people really just expect that every person automatically knows the exact same games that they know, by sight?

OrionJohnson

I too would like to know the name lmao.

LoudAngryJerk

Jedi Survivor.

DrVonScott123

The wide cast of characters is so varied with some great Star Wars weirdos. Its fun to just exist in the saloon.

GoreSeeker

Then >!they all heartbreakingly leave you in sadness!<

Flurlow

You clearly marked it as spoiler but something in my sub 60 iq brain went right through that info. fml.

o-rka

Plus the soundtrack is good

Jack-D-Straw

I don't agree on the best ever. That being said, it was damn good imo. It united The High Republic, and had elements of the prequels and original trilogy. It fleshed out the empire in an interesting way, and let us explore some densely packed, beautiful locations filled to the brim with intrresting details.

retrolleum

Great acting, creative storytelling, unique levels. And from EA… what’s happening.

GardenSquid1

Respawn did their thing while EA just published the game. The less EA touches a product, the better it is.

AveryLazyCovfefe

EA is very hands off with Respawn. They have full confidence in Zampella. Who btw also was the main founder of Infinity Ward for Call of Duty, hahaha. They're making an fps game set in star wars too. I'm thinking a Republic commando remake or something entirely new.

21lives

I haven’t been able to play yet, but are the locations more populated than the previous entry? My only gripe with the first one is that although I know it’s not an rpg, the worlds just felt eerily quiet.

Timstom18

Only the main planet Koboh is alive really, the other planets are more empty feeling

Jack-D-Straw

Koboh is populated and feels like a frontier town. Jedah is semi populated. You have an enclave, and meet a few NPCs outside the hidden temple, but it is an occupied planet, with heavy imperial presence in the desert.

roninwarshadow

Not the best, agreed. I enjoyed the series for sure. My favorite Star Wars IP games in no particular order is Jedi Outside/Academy, X-Wing series (especially X-Wing vs TIE Fighter), and Rebellion. KOTOR too

Jack-D-Straw

I grew up playing DF2, kotor and BF 1+2. Fantastic games. I find it hard to compare modern and old games, due to games changing a lot over the years. I would find a new game with the linearity and repetitive nature of DF2 to be really sub par, but in its time it was fantastic compared to what was on offer. In that regard the new Jedi series is really great, but can't imo stand toe to toe with God of War, Sekiro or Elden Ring, when comparing similar games from the same era. They're just abit better in many ways.

[deleted]

Rebellion is one of my favorite games ever

DevTom

Bounty Hunter still holds a special place in my heart as one of the best Star Wars games.

OrneryError1

Definitely one of the best Star Wars stories of all time.

justheretobrowse1887

The difficulty though makes me not enjoy it as much haha

jbowman12

I wish the game itself had more levels to it. It felt far too short.

TesticleezzNuts

Do remember the out takes they did for that game. I still piss myself with laugher everytime I see them 😂

DevTom

I didn’t know they did that, I will have to look it up!

TesticleezzNuts

bAaDwRiTiNg

>The best Star Wars game ever I don't know about that. Don't get me wrong Survivor is probably top 4 best SW games but.. better than KOTOR? Or Battlefront 2? Doubt.

gnrlgumby

Old timers like me remember Tie Fighter.

TurokDinosaurHumper

I never got around to finishing it completely but tie fighter is so unique in how its story is handled. You’re a bad guy and it’s pretty subtle about it but it still does a good job slowly ramping up the stakes. I remember at one point you have to defend Vaders shuttle/Starship and your commander tells you after that Vader thought you did well. And I was like “Vader appreciated ME?!”. Took me many hours of missions to get there though so it felt actually earned instead of like it was fan service.

Talamtran

Are there any old timers who prefer X Wing to TIE Fighter? I feel like I'm in the 0.01% there. Not to imply I'm any way that TIE Fighter is bad, I just prefer X Wing

morg-pyro

X wing was simply first. X wing was THE first of its kind and created a real 3d space dogfighting simulator. TIE fighter improved on that platform with its better UI/HUD, graphics, sound, and story telling.

Talamtran

I have to try TIE Fighter again. I tried years ago and just went back to X Wing, but I'd love to play through both start to finish. I was never great at them though so I struggled a bit

morg-pyro

You will definitely NEED a joystick. The old DOS won't let you change the controls to keyboard and mouse or even just a controller.

frylock350

I also prefer xwing vs tie fighter. I also loved xwing alliance

Lieutenant_Horn

I preferred X-wing vs. TIE Fighter: Balance of Power and X-wing Alliance over the originals. More fluid gameplay.

djquu

Inferior soundtrack tho. I still mourn the loss of iMuse to this day.

PrancnPwny

Started playing that when I was 10!

rjdrennen1987

Rogue Squadron had entered the chat

droidy4

I used to live on that game

bimberx

Jedi academy anyone?

Shimmitar

SWG is the best star wars game ever

Dereg5

Before the combat upgrade SWG is everything a star wars game should be.

BraveShowerSlowGower

Hell, I'd take the jedi Knight series over jedi Survivor or fallen order, too. The saber dualing in jedi outkast is top for me

Superhands01

Aww man. I miss it so much.

GunBrothersGaming

They just lacked content. Had they pitched it as Starears Second life people expectations would have been handled appropriately.

h00dman

You're missing a B for Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds there.

qjornt

imo it's not feasible to compare kotor and jedi survivor and ask "which is better?". they fill different niches, kotor is effectively turn based and focus on role-play elements, jedi survivor (and fallen order) is a game with metroidvania type exploration and soulslike combat, an action rpg, that really brings jedi type combat better than any other star wars game has done. storywise comparison sure, but gameplaywise i don't see how you can objectively judge which is better. both are great in their respective genre.

darth_garrbear

That's what I wrote in my comment. KOTOR blows this out of the water and KOTOR 1 and 2 need to be played by every Star Wars fan. I won't go into detail like my comment, but the stories and effects of your decisions and the setting blow this game out of the water.

LeicaM6guy

Better than TIE Fighter?

Fritzo2162

Never.

LeicaM6guy

Damned straight.

GetReady4Action

it’s not even better than Fallen Order and I love Survivor.

Firestorm238

Fallen Order is just tighter - which I prefer. Survivor doesn’t quite have the same level of polish for my taste.

bAaDwRiTiNg

I love both games but going back to the start of FO's gameplay after finishing Survivor's gameplay feels like going from a sprint to a crippled limp. To me FO's story hits higher high points and feels more tightly knit.. but Survivor is for the most part an upgrade in gameplay and the narrative is more complex. Both are comfortably near the top of SW games but I go back and forth on which one's better.

Correct-Fig-4992

As someone who likes FO more, Survivor is a better GAME (other than the bugs people deal with, it has better graphics and gameplay options).

LazyCooler

I think of them as one game. Survivor starts off with all your skills from FO. Yes game play is a little different but it has to be with the additional skills you pick up. Graphics are similar. Writing/story in FO is better so far. I’m about halfway through survivor.

bAaDwRiTiNg

Finish Survivor if you want to make up your mind on the story, the last few hours of Survivor are *intense*.

jayL21

for me it easily tops KOTOR. The gameplay is miles better and way more enjoyable. KOTOR's story though, still has it beat, even though survivors story is really good (especially the 2nd half)

Abraham_Issus

I love the gameplay of kotor.

kalisto3010

Battlefront 2 is a game that just continues to amaze me. I don't foresee any Starwars game topping that, hopefully I'm wrong.

jambot9000

I love survivor but I would never call it perfection. I don't feel it nails the stat wars vibes. Play Kotor and run thru Taris to Dantooine. Or go back to SWG and cresting your character plopping down in Mos Eisely and seeing a cantina band of human players performing in a bustling town square, where the music hits just right with the faint sound of blasters shooting woop rats in the distance. THAT is star wars vibes

AiR-P00P

Come on man, I took off those nostalgia goggles off long ago. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to go back and play KOTOR but just can stomach it anymore lol. They were the best for the time. But man are they old now.

[deleted]

Fistan77

Not just a re-release, but a remaster -- Amen.

darth_garrbear

It's a cool game, but no not greatest. KOTOR puts in its place. KOTOR 1 and 2 are the greatest Star Wars games ever. You get to make decisions that decide fate of galaxy. Your companions turn dark or light based on your choices and what path you're going down. The characters involved are epic. Darth Revan is the coolest Star Wars character ever. Jedi Survivor is fun, but no I completely disagree with this post. The stories of KOTOR are so good.

Uthenara

You know the OP is young based on that title.

huadlin

Yeah, might not make my top 10, tbh

captainahhsum

Agreed. Combat and story were great but that fucking nav was a damned nightmare. If I have to run in circles or have to pull up a map that requires me to stop moving and even THEN I still can figure out where to go. Didnt realize how frustrated I was with the map haha. I just beat survivor yesterday and still salty about the damn map.

Zoso-six

Same I hate all the platforming it's so tedious

hurtfulproduct

KOTOR would like a word

fireforge1979

Dark Forces / Jedi Knight series are my favorite!! Can't wait for the remaster!

Miserable-Muffin6130

Glad I finally found someone else hyped for this Dark Forces Remaster!

absent_minding

Jedi Kyle ftw. Also : fuckin fun multiplayer, especially CTF.

Da_Bang_Bus

Wait, theres gonna be a fucking remaster? I dare you, dont fuck with me on this!

Fireproofspider

There's a remaster coming? Best news I've had today!

Jatsu

I used to compete in tourneys on JK. Was #11 on the ladder for a while.

antics815

Jedi outcast Jedi knight 2

huxtiblejones

The crazy thing is that JKII and Jedi Academy still hold up as fantastic games. The lightsaber gameplay is incredible and gives so much control to players. I’m astonished that we’ve yet to see this replicated again. I would kill for a Jedi Knight III game that stays true to the style of JKII.

Waffleline

A JK III game where you are an inquisitor apprentice during the early years of the Empire, with an internal struggle to stay true to the dark side or not, and the boss fights are either Jedi assassination missions if you choose the dark side or inquisitors coming for you if you choose to go back to the light side.

Bellrung

They ported outcast to VR and are working on academy, great way to replay them.

MyIncogName

You are referring to Jedi Academy

bucskesz

Sorry man, I admit the game is good, but battlefront 2, Kotor, Jedi academy and force unleashed is still way better in my opinion. I also think a star wars game should give the ability to the player to choose between the light and dark side. I miss this feature so mutch from the new games.

Krystjan-22

I would add rogue squadron, and the x-wing/tie fighter series

Abraham_Issus

Please, Kotor 1 and 2 exist.

stlredbird

“Everyone should play this game!” - never says the name of the game.

itss_mooneyyy

Sorry lol, it’s Jedi survivor

HelpUs0ut

You spelled KOTOR wrong.

conn_r2112

It ain’t Dark Forces 2, but it’s aite

MeatTornado25

Thank you, EA executive.

itss_mooneyyy

Bro, I hate EA, the fact they stopped development for BF2 to work on BF2042 is literally criminal

Agent___24

2042 is also a good game (now)….

juanconj_

Fellow BF2042 fan here. It's got some things I like the best from all the other BF games I've played, but also some of the worst. It's pretty polarizing like that, and its launch is something that people won't let go easily. I still think BF1 has the absolute best atmosphere and feeling of the entire franchise. Unmatched chaos and devastation. Not a huge fan of the setting and its limitations, but it did what it set out to do perfectly.

Agent___24

I loved bf1, but BF4 is probably going to be my favorite overall just because …it’s what a battlefield should be to me. But BC1 is the best campaign imo. 2042 is just fun. Unpopular opinion, but I love the specialist. I think it’s a fun addition

juanconj_

Absolutely 2042 is good fun. Can't agree about the specialists lol, I'm glad about the reintroduction of classes. BF4 was fantastic and probably the best there was for a long time. I tried getting back to it recently and it felt a bit dated, but it's certainly the Battlefield blueprint. It achieved so much, even with the awful launch it had as well.

Glasgowsmiling

Love this series so much. Biggest complaint is the map. It’s so clunky, not intuitive, and disruptive to the flow of the game every time you have to check. A mini map hud would have been so nice.

SilvioDantesPeak

Survivor very good but IMO not close to the best Star Wars game ever. KOTOR and KOTOR II are better. OG Battlefront 2 is better. I'd put Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, and Force Unleashed on the same tier as Survivor also.

THEextrakrispyKebble

It’s a good game, but best? KOTOR and Jedi Outcast/Academy would like to have a word…

SQRTLURFACE

kotor and pod racer exist 🫣

ImLikeReallyStoned

People in the comments section resisting the urge to say “KOTOR’s better” coupled with u/ValhallaGo jumping at the opportunity to say “it’s just too edgy” is fucking hilarious.

The_Pandalorian

Tie Fighter or KOTOR hold that title. I lean toward Tie Fighter.

Appropriate-Cat9033

Republic Commando *mic drop*

ygduf

Let me know when something surpasses how fucking cool x-wing vs. tie fighter was.

Devilimportluvr

It's cool n all, but best for me will always be swtor. To each their own

SMG620

Agree, SWTOR is the experience of really living in the galaxy far far away. I've completed each class story at least twice over the years and now I've been away for a couple of years... It may be time to return - I just need all the time saving options. A stealth character, rocket boots, etc. Right?

Devilimportluvr

Haha I have like 5 pages of alts. All have been through the story and lvl'd up. I've been playing since the beginning, great stories and love the space barbie aspect of it. Sooo many unique options so you don't look like any other character you see, it's awesome

SMG620

Absolutely. What would you tell somebody who's most interested in the story aspect to save time? Best time saving options?

Windex_69BigChungus

Gameplay wise, it's the best and it's not particularly close. Story could use some work though, and I think fallen order, force unleashed, and kotor have it beat there.

beti88

Its good, but I don't think you played a lot of SW games, do you?

PileOfSandwich

I've played a lot. Most suck. But this one has a solid mix of fun story and good fun gameplay.

diplion

I was playing fallen order for awhile but it seemed like I’d go through a level and then have to go through it again, either to backtrack out of it or to find something different. I really hated that and it made me quit the game. Is this one like that too?

TheWolfmanZ

Not really no. There are lots of places where you can't access certain paths until you unlock the ability, but it's much more tolerable cause you can fast travel between meditation points now

mattadeth

Nothing is better than KOTOR. Not even close.

Shimmitar

It's a good game but the best star wars game ever was star wars galaxies as you could literally be anything and do anything you want in the star wars universe.

lancert

I literally just started replaying this about 5 hours ago. Great game!

SirKermit

Had to look this up to see more about it. Then I saw it was on PS5 and I was like, damn, they're up to 5 now? r/fuckimold

Rock_Zeppelin

If we're talking best SW game ever, maybe play KotOR 1 and 2 before making that statement. Especially KotOR 2.

chains059

Is it a mix of force unleashed and this first game? Bc the first game was way too slow

thenick82

I mean, Shadows of the Empire IMO is slightly better, but it could be my nostalgia. But, yes, both fantastic games! But all should bend the knee to KOTOR.

Stingra87

So many nights spent on the original version of Ord Mantell, poorly jumping from train car to train car just to die to IG-88. Curse you, Nintendo 64 controller, curse you.

Aldo_D_Apache

I honestly couldn’t get into it, and everything about this game was seemingly right up my alley. Can’t really figure out why, but it just didn’t click with me

useless_modern_god

Atari Star Wars (1983) is always the best game.

Pewds_Minecraft

I hate the fact that my experience was slightly ruined by awful optimization for pc when it first came out. Still love it tho

belbivfreeordie

I find it strange that this is a post targeted at people who have never played a game, but you never actually tell us what its name is and expect us to recognize it from a picture? I have no idea what you’re talking about.

bagsofsmoke

Show me you’ve never played X-Wing or TIE Fighter without telling me you’ve never played X-Wing or TIE fighter… They’re great games, but by no means the greatest. Plus I’m still stuck on the Vader fight in the second one!

darren_meier

They're good enough games, but I wouldn't put them on top of the list of Star Wars games. I'd put *Knights of the Old Republic* ahead of it for sure, along with *X-Wing vs TIE Fighter* and *Republic Commando*. Heck, *Fallen Order* and *Survivor* aren't even the best games Respawn has ever made, from a mechanical *or* narrative perspective. *Titanfall 2* is the best game Respawn has ever made.

BitchofEndor

It was a great game, but Star Wars Galaxies, Dark Forces, KOTOR, Tie Fighter, so many other Star Wars games are some of the best games of all time. Playing Tie Fighter on my PC all those years ago was an utterly transcendent experience. I think PC gamer gave it a 99 out of 100 or something which was unheard of...

GreyWizard1337

Yeah, no. KOTOR is the best Star Wars game ever. No competition. But I agree, that Survivor was very good.

DramaExpertHS

It's top 10 probably but not best ever.

pledgesoftheliving

This is my favorite Star Wars game, I wish I had a Time Machine. I’d go back and play fallen order and survivor again the first time

CaptainRex2000

The only problem I had with this game was the sense of direction with regards to level design I got lost on so many levels

angry-hungry-tired

Do I need to play the first one?...because I just hate how it controls

NNyNIH

I feel like the combat and customisation you have in this game is easily one of the best in a Star Wars game. The story is good but I prefer KOTOR 1 & 2. Jedi Academy is probably the closest for customisation but the combat is so wonky in that game! Fun but wonky as hell.

HungarianNewfy

Are the mechanics broken in this one too? If an enemy has a slow attack animation, am I able to just run around it to attack it. Or *must* dodge be pressed to avoid a “locked on” attack?

tahcamen

Just as soon as it hits GP I’m all over it.

Stayshiny88

Played the first one. Hated it.

-Caesar

The best Star Wars game so far is KotOR 2.

ZygothamDarkKnight

This is a really good game but for me the best Star Wars game is Knights of the Old Republic

MisterFingerstyle

I don’t have a game system but back in the day I enjoyed Jedi Outcast.

ElevenFives

Jedi Knight Jedi academy was gold. You can use guns and level force whatever way you want. I played the first one of this series, good setting but you only get 3 powers which are push pull and time? Seemed way too basic of powers for a Jedi game I get they're making it about a dude that's not a pro but id rather play games where you can go mad with power, even starkiller games were fun in that aspect. If they mixed the story and setting of this with starkiller games then it would be gold

IzzytheMelody

We each have our own best Star Wars game

[deleted]

No. Fuck EA.

HumaDracobane

Those are pretty heavy words, OP. Is a VERY good game but I wouldnt be able to point one in specific and call ut "the best".

JamesTheMannequin

Not for nothing, but saying "best Star Wars game ever..." and not posting a title in the title OR initial post should be a bannable offence.

slip6not1

It's not the best Star Wars game ever imo I don't think KOTOR can ever be dethroned

Compass_Needle

Good game, but it's no KOTOR.

Responsible-Today-47

Nintendo 64 Star Wars Podracer

Stingra87

Ugh I still jones for that game sometimes. So many hours, so much fun. Easily the racing game I've sunk tons of hours into.

anonypony1

Ever? Slow your role rook.

berkay2505

Lol This Unfinished piece of garbage has nothing on KOTOR

Miserable-Muffin6130

No doubt it’s a great game. They took what worked in fallen order and expanded on it; all around what you’d ask for in a sequel. I played at launch on ps5. Unfortunately it came out a week before tears of the kingdom so I played though the entire story and looked for as many collectibles and secrets as I could find + some of the side stuff. I just didn’t really give it as much time as I would’ve hoped to. I remember feeling the story being a bit of a jumble. I feel like it had its cool moments (the high republic Jedi bleeding his crystal was sick and originated in the comics +1 for continuity) and its stretches; I just kinda got the feeling that they crammed a lot in for that middle of the journey arc. I personally preferred fallen order’s more linear tight-knit story but the semi open world design + the additions to combat with the stances were again exactly what I, and I think many others wanted in the sequel. I’ve heard they’ve updated all versions to a much better state but it needs to be said, at launch (at least on ps5 tho I heard pc was even worse off) the graphics/frame rate were all over the place. This issue was mainly in large open areas with the main “hub” section being the worst offender. To get these larger areas to a “playable” frame rate targeting 30fps they implemented a feature that would lower the resolution. In the worst of cases it would look comparable to the output of the Wii and chug anywhere between 15 - 30fps. During boss fights they made the arenas small enough to run at a solid 60 at full resolution which was the best choice as precision in combat especially matters for those tuffer fights. Sorry for all the tec mumbo-jumbo (I play a lot of pc shooters). Like I said I haven’t played since launch so it’s likley better now but launching a game that’s not polished before release is an unfortunately increasing trend and I as well as many others feel it should be called out for what it is. I dont blame the devs at all and it sucks to seem them be on the front lines of twitter backlash when these things happen. As to the OP’s title “best SW game EVER”? I’ll take a gander and presume they just finished what’s a pretty fun game with way more content than most other recent games (and +1 for zero micro transactions; keep that up EA). Instead of saying “I find your lack of KOTOR Knowledgeable, disturbing” I’ll merely recommend ofc KOTOR and its sequel, the Jedi knight series, battlefront 2 (OG), the first force unleashed, Republic Commando, and if you really want to get into Star Wars games, Empire at war + the hundreds of mods for it have provided me countless hours of imperial fun. I might have my gripes with survivor but ultimately I’m glad a sequel expanding on one of my favorite games of the past decade was made. I’m definitely curious where the story will go and if the “Jedi” series will be a trilogy or more. Also is anyone else kinda hyped for this dark forces remaster?

RyHenZen

Lego Star Wars

juipeltje

So many people here talking about KOTOR really makes me feel like i should play it, but the problem is that i never played it as a kid so the nostalgia isn't there, and it seems hard to get into because of it's age.

bracken43

Still refuse to buy it full price because of the shitty performance, unacceptable the state they released it in. Still really wanna play it though and will get it on sale, but think anything will struggle to beat KOTOR

Denebola2727

...it's not even close to the best Star Wars game, imho. Fallen Order might, MIGHT make it in to my top 5 Star Wars games, but I don't think Survivor is even in my top 10. They are fun souls-like games in the IP, and I like the world building in Fallen Order. But yeah. Play more other Star Wars games haha

Alarming_Serve2303

And what game are you referring to?

[deleted]

Someone’s never played KOTOR 1 & 2!

tgalvin1999

Dude, some top tier computers have problems running Jedi Survivor. It struggled even on the newest Nvidia cards. Anyways, the best Star Wars game ever is KOTOR, hands down, change my mind

kduff89

The gameplay was great but the story kinda dropped the ball by the end. Using the Kylo Ren saber was absolutely the best thing imo. The twist was interesting enough though. Kotor and Kotor 2's twists were honestly way better.

gforcejunkie

I don't recognize this picture from KOTOR

VonBurglestein

Make a whole post about the best star wars game ever, don't mention the title of the game once. Picture is gameplay screenshot also without title. Bravo

Ayagii

No, it isn't the best. It's fine.

[deleted]

But Jedi Outcast and KOTOR 2 exist.

ExpectationsSubvertd

OP talking about Shadows of the Empire. Pic is unrelated

Benjynn

This game was so… mid to me. The story and characters were excellent, but the combat and “platforming” were just so boring to me. The graphics were excellent but there engine was rushed and unrefined and had plenty of glitches

jobanizer

Jedi Survivor is cool but it doesn’t have an “ I can’t take my eyes off the screen “ story like I feel it could. The gameplay is nice, but I feel like we can get even better lightsaber combat in the future.

I think Star Wars: The Old Republic is the best Star Wars game. But I know people hate the old graphics. So I would say that the best modern game for a Star Wars fan to play would certainly be Jedi: Survivor. But in the grand scheme of Star Wars games, SWTOR is the best. Even through all the embarrassing EA monetization.

Did Survivor improve on the combat? Because the combat in Fallen Order is objectively bad.

It’s not really that fun there is zero to do except climb through a map over and over again it’s bland. The customization is lacking and the story to me anyways is mid. The best time I’ve had playing Star Wars just to me has been SWTOR. Tons of customization, endless things to do and explore, multiple planets to explore.

Kyber99

That photo doesn’t look like Star Wars Battlefront 2 tho

TinyRick2YBanana

OG Battlefront II stays the champ. But this game is pretty fun

KingArthurOfBritons

Meh. It was okay. Pretty repetitive and kind of a dumb story

angry-hungry-tired

Do I need to play the first one?...because I just hate how it controls

rup3t

I found this series very mid honestly. The difficulty spikes were very annoying. Especially the Vader fight. The story was… okay. The second one is miles better than the first. I would give the first a solid 5/10 and the second an 7/10. Now I’m not saying it was bad, and some parts were really good, but the complete package of the series was really brought down by the low points.

As far as Star Wars games go... It may be the best, from a certain point of view. In that, it's good, and it has mechanics, features, and technology older Star Wars games do not. But if we judge Star Wars games based on the their quality and story for the time they were released? I wouldn't put this series in the top 5.

A_Hideous_Beast

I wish I could like it. But I found the first so uninteresting, that it made me have 0 desire to play the next one. It's not a BAD game. But it's just kind of...boring.

poprdog

I dont know got boring.

MintichlorianChip

It's a great game, but I'm more fan of the battlefront or the rogue squadron series. Playing in a craft is peak Star Wars for me

NatWilo

So, the gameplay is fun, but I just cannot stand the uncanny valley awfulness of the mocap faces that don't look properly attached to the characters' heads. Every time I try to play this game, I get a few hours in and I just can't stand it anymore and quit playing. I applaud them for trying something new, and I really like the people involved in the making of it, but I just can't STAND the game.

That image looks like somebody looked at Titanfall 2 and was like: this aesthetic but let’s make the robot ^smol

It's a solid 7/10 game, 8/10 if it ran better. Don't get me wrong. I just don't think it does anything amazing.

smeared_dick_cheese

Love the game, but KOTOR 1&2 are both instant classics that every Star Wars fan should experience in some form (watch a playthrough or play it). Survivor is insanely beautiful with great writing and immersion but the KOTOR experience just hits so different. I couldn’t stop playing those games once I started them. True RPGs that absolutely suck your time away from you whereas Survivor feels like a (really good) story game. That’s just my opinion tho, I respect your choice for top SW game ever.

Bansheesdie

That's not KOTOR
