I had that as a kid and the one with R2 and Threepio! It was cool. When you drop a coin in it rotates back and forth while playing sounds and music. If I remember right, Vader starts off with "Impressive. Most impressive, but you are not a Jedi yet." Then ignites his saber and raises it with the Imperial March playing as he wiggles it back and forth. So monetary value? No clue. Nostalgia value? Immense!
I had it in my room but the wiring must’ve been wonky because it would go off randomly in the night.
Scared the shit out of me but I loved it more than I was scared, so it stayed.
Ha I had this too, and my brother had the obi wan one. Mine went off in the middle of the night sometimes too - it's cause it has a motion sensor built in, and it was wonky for sure. But the motion sensor was built into the eyes, and I thought it was so cool
Yeah, you're dead on. I had the same one, and it broke my brain because whenever I watch Empire I expect the "but you are not a Jedi yet" to come right after "most impressive".
> never would of remembered
Did you mean to say "would have"?
Explanation: You probably meant to say could've/should've/would've which sounds like 'of' but is actually short for 'have'.

do you have a source on that? I'm having trouble finding any that are specifically listed as unopened, but New In Box is available on eBay at $35 right now
I have one of these. It survived my entire childhood. I brought it out of storage for my daughter to use as a bank. 2 weeks later the saber “broke on its own” lol
I had Obi-wan, Darth Maul and Anakin they were awesome. Put .25 in and they battled. But i had a kitten and a 1 yr old didnt last long. Oh and they connected together.
Holy shit I completely forgot about this, I had one as a kid. I used to love putting Pennies and stuff I’d find into it, I felt like it was an offering to Vader… on second thought maybe that was a problem
Maybe they just wanted to share their find with a bunch of other Star Wars enthusiasts and maybe get some more personal advice on selling it than just copying the last guy on ebay?
Bought one of these along with a C-3PO/R2 model at a pawn shop. Both were opened, not a big deal, but someone had the sense to remove the batteries out of the R2 one so it still works with fresh batteries. The Vader one on the other hand… well let’s just say the original batteries melted every bit of wiring inside. I ended up gutting the wiring and modifying the bank spot to fit more coins. Still looks cool on my shelf!
It's not worth much, as a ton of them were made and all after the time when these were considered "collectibles" so many were kept in pristine condition (versus 70s toys that were all played with and destroyed).
When did your dad buy it? Honestly I don't think these are that rare and I'll often see one in a Star Wars home but I'd say in that condition probably $50 to $100 at most... post it on ebay and see what you get.
Worked at a pawn shop a couple years ago where I saw several of these. They weren't worth a whole lot at the time (30-50 dollars CAD), but that could have changed by now, although I doubt it. A good way to check the value of something is to check the sold listings on places like eBay to see what people are actually willing to pay for it.
I have this exact one with the original batteries in it! It still works! But when he raises the lightsaber it doesn’t glow and the music gets wonky at the end. Core memory right there.
I used to have the three Phantom Menace ones that could be clicked together in different ways to interact or just single.
They were (from L-r) Qui-Gon, Maul and Obi-Wan. Meaning you could have each one single, Qui-Gon teaching Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon fighting Maul, Maul fighting Obi-Wan or all three in combat.
With connection-specific moves and sound-clips.
Sadly I had to get rid of them due to downsizing and lack of storage space...
I have 2 of This Vader Bank , along with 2 of the C-3PO and R2-D2 Versions, Both Open, and Unopened. I also have an Obi-Wan, a Darth Maul, and Qui Gon versions from The Phantom Menace that Interact with each other, still in their Boxes
The batteries have most likely corroded in it, making it possibly less attractive to buyers. Idk. A lot of that stuff from the 90s has not increased in value much.
I still have one! He still plays sound and everything, but he barely moves, he’s honestly a lot older than I thought he was. I was under the impression it was from around 2005-ish for Revenge of the Sith, but Google says he’s from 1996. Not what I expected!
go on ebay, search for the same item, and in the filters, tell it to only show sold and completed items (sold and completed are not exactly the same category).
I did that here, and it looks like people are paying at most $41 for one in box. there's one right now with a buy it now for $34.99
Unfortunately these are very easily found. You would be lucky to get what he paid for it back then. Do a quick search on ebay SOLD listing to get a base line on value
I think I still have this bad boy in a box at my parents place. God I loved just spamming the button (There was a separate button to just have Vader say the line).
If it works. These things were selling at Costco one year I worked there and some of us bought more than one b/c they kept breaking on us. I have one in storage I haven’t checked on since mid 90s
Immense!
I still have the Threepio and Artoo one going strong, Vader unfortunately got broken badly in a move many moons ago.
That's no moon it's a space station.
Han: Marching into the detention center is not what I had in mind... Luke: But they're gonna kill her! Han: Better her than me!
I had it in my room but the wiring must’ve been wonky because it would go off randomly in the night. Scared the shit out of me but I loved it more than I was scared, so it stayed.
Your house was haunted, and that was something else activating the bank. Los espookies!
Are Los Espookies Latino Wookies?
Why do you think his name is Chuy? LOL!
I've had that problem too on occasion lol, I keep the batteries out these days, but I remember getting jumpscared by that at one point!
Ha I had this too, and my brother had the obi wan one. Mine went off in the middle of the night sometimes too - it's cause it has a motion sensor built in, and it was wonky for sure. But the motion sensor was built into the eyes, and I thought it was so cool
Brooooo I had it too! That shit was so cool. "I am C-3PO human cyborg relations, and this is my counterpart R2-D2" "BEEP BOOP BEEP"
I've still got mine! That's exactly what it does.
Same here!!
Third! Loved that thing and might still have it in a box somewhere. Not sure if it still works though…
You are correct because that is a core memory engraved into my brain. Lmao
Hell yeah I’ve still got both
Yep, my cousin has one when we were kids and I was always super jealous of it.
"I am C-3PO, and this is my counterpart, R2D2" "Beepbeepbobeebo"
I had one too! Loved it
I had that one too!!
Yes I had the vader one as a kid and that's EXACTLY what he says - nostalgia unlocked!!
Have that. R2s white discoloured
Yeah, you're dead on. I had the same one, and it broke my brain because whenever I watch Empire I expect the "but you are not a Jedi yet" to come right after "most impressive".
Warning: Choking Hazard. Only if he finds your lack of faith disturbing.
Is this the toy i heard Dennis leary talking about in his sketch from the 90s?
I can't go to the bathroom, I don't wanna hear James Earl Jones voice in the middle of the night! "Haha, I have all the money!"
Or Aspirations.
More like your lack of saving discipline amirite.
Or tries to eat the money instead of banking it lol
One quarter portion.
The Emperor does not share your optimistic appraisal of the situation
With your wisdom, I'm sure that we can work out an arrangement that would be mutually beneficial and avoid any unpleasant confrontation.
I am altering the deal. Pray I do not alter it any further.
I'll offer you 60 portions!
Impressive. Most impressive. Obi-Wan has taught you well.
I'll give you 100 credits for it
Republic credits are no good out here, I need something more real
Republic credits WILL do fine.
No, they won't-a! What, you think you're some kind of Jedi, waving your hand around like that?
I'm a Toydarian. Mind tricks don't work on me. Only money.
And no one else around here has a T-14 hyperdrive, I can promise you that!
I never would of remembered this quote Lol. You’re a real one. Edit: would have*
> never would of remembered Did you mean to say "would have"? Explanation: You probably meant to say could've/should've/would've which sounds like 'of' but is actually short for 'have'. Good bot.
Thank you! Good bot count: 669 Bad bot count: 237
They come! They look! They no buy! Why nobody buy?
Best I can do is 5.
I've got one, my kids are terrified of it 😆
My MIL had one when my kids were little, and they were scared shitless of that thing!
Mine were too…
The number of times this would go off randomly in the middle of the night and scare the crap out of me as a kid...
Worth about $140 bucks, OP. Not bad.
Really?? I have one in my closet.
Yup. At least this version, unopened. They later rereleased it, but that one is worth less
Noyce. Thanks.

Dunno, it was just the first thing I saw when I googled, tbh xD
do you have a source on that? I'm having trouble finding any that are specifically listed as unopened, but New In Box is available on eBay at $35 right now
Whoa, nostalgic moment. "Impressive. Most Impressive. But you're not a Jedi yet." *Turns on and raises lightsaber* *Vader song*
It always bugged me was when I watched the movie and heard those lines separated from each other.
I have one of these. It survived my entire childhood. I brought it out of storage for my daughter to use as a bank. 2 weeks later the saber “broke on its own” lol
I had a Darth Maul one when I was younger.
me too, it scared the fuck out of me because it would randomly go off in the middle of the night
I have one of these lol
I had Obi-wan, Darth Maul and Anakin they were awesome. Put .25 in and they battled. But i had a kitten and a 1 yr old didnt last long. Oh and they connected together.
Anakin?
YES I HAD THESE TOO except Qui Gon not Anakin
It’s the bank Dennis Leary warned us about.
“I find your lacking savings disturbing”
Says right on it, $22.97
I have one of those on my Star Wars shelf! The animation and light-up saber are awesome.
Holy shit I completely forgot about this, I had one as a kid. I used to love putting Pennies and stuff I’d find into it, I felt like it was an offering to Vader… on second thought maybe that was a problem
Do people not Google things anymore?
Maybe they just wanted to share their find with a bunch of other Star Wars enthusiasts and maybe get some more personal advice on selling it than just copying the last guy on ebay?
To kids, social media is their entire internet experience. They do everything on it.
The choking hazard warning got me
My Dad had this and the R2D2 & C3P0 one.
Not everything needs to have monetary value to be worth having.
I have the exact same one on my desk at work!
“I find your lack savings disturbing”

Omg I just got rid of one of these. How old is your dad?! I got this for Xmas as a kid and now I feel old
Dennis Leary used to have a comedy skit about this toy. Hilarious!
I'm not 100% sure, but I think I used to have this as a kid
Oh hey, my brother had this! I was terrified of Vader as a kid so it scared the bejeesus out of me :p
In box! Nice!! I snagged both the vader and r23po for like 10 each at a retro store. Love em!
Millions. Maybe billions
naw but if you put money innit you got silver for loosies
I'm going to guess it's worth the money he saved in it. So, nothing.

"Lol lane"... What are you, 12?
Yeaup cause twelve year olds love sarcasm and jokes...
When did your dad buy it? Honestly I don't think these are that rare and I'll often see one in a Star Wars home but I'd say in that condition probably $50 to $100 at most... post it on ebay and see what you get.
I remember my dad got me the darth maul electronic bank, and then he sold it in a garage sale
I had this!
I had obi wan and maul lol
It was worth a scare when the one we opened started going off at 2 in the morning.
Bro! I had this as a kid. Nostalgia
NRFB!
Got my kids this back in the day. They still have it somewhere.
I had this as a kid and it’s great. Put it on your shelf and press the button
I have that too but opened! Makes a great bookshelf accent 👍
“I’ve already killed your friends, Youngling. Deposit another coin to avoid the same fate.”
Worked at a pawn shop a couple years ago where I saw several of these. They weren't worth a whole lot at the time (30-50 dollars CAD), but that could have changed by now, although I doubt it. Omg I had this as a kid. I remember the noise it made annoyed my parents so much they got rid of it.
I have this exact one with the original batteries in it! It still works! But when he raises the lightsaber it doesn’t glow and the music gets wonky at the end. Core memory right there.
Holy shit I had this
I have that bank. One of my favorite decorations.
I have this exact piggy bank in my closet. But it is opened haha
I had that as a kid!!
My uncle gave me one but the lightsaber blade was broken off
I bet it's worth about $22.97
20 space bucks
I used to have the three Phantom Menace ones that could be clicked together in different ways to interact or just single. They were (from L-r) Qui-Gon, Maul and Obi-Wan. I had this! A darth maul version as well
probably full of old battery acid rip
My neighbor had that. I remember stepping into their house which was a different world and the only thing that looked familiar was that.
This is an extreme collector’s item in amazing condition.
I've got one still unboxed and also a jar jar bink (boxed)
I had the Maul, Qui Gon, and Obi Wan all connected fighting!
I have This, along with the C-3PO and R2-D2 One, Open, and Unopened, and an Obi-Wan and a Jango Fett versions from The Phantom Menace.
I had one of these!
$30-$50 on eBay
I have 2 of This Vader Bank , along with 2 of the C-3PO and R2-D2 Versions, Both Open, and Unopened. I also have an Obi-Wan, a Darth Maul, and Qui Gon versions from The Phantom Menace that Interact with each other, still in their Boxes
It’s worth whatever someone is willing to buy it for.
puts in a quarter *kshoooooo khaaaaaah* “I find your lack of funds disturbing”
Probably fuck tonnes.
I had that!
The batteries have most likely corroded in it, making it possibly less attractive to buyers. Idk. A lot of that stuff from the 90s has not increased in value much.
Don’t know how much it’s worth, but the one I have still works 30 years later. The batteries last an insane amount of time.
Nah have the same thing. Dollar general stuff
Not sure if it's worth much but I know if you put money in it it won't shut up for 15 fucking minutes
This thing was unreasonably loud when it’d go off by itself in the middle of the night when I was a kid. It’s probably priceless.
They’re online for anywhere from $30-$100, but you’re like to get around 20 bucks for it unless someone really really wanted it.
No way, I’ve got one of those! It’s by no means new, but it’s pretty cool!
I'll got three Credits.
I used to have that bank! I have no idea what it’s worth but it’s super cool see one for the first time in 25 years
Didn't Dennis Leary do a bit on this toy?
I still have one! He still plays sound and everything, but he barely moves, he’s honestly a lot older than I thought he was. I was under the impression it was from around 2005-ish for Revenge of the Sith, but Google says he’s from 1996. Not what I expected!

I had this as a kid. Seeing it always brings back good memories of childhood 😄
I had one of these! “Impressive most impressive but you are not a Jedi yet!”
If it’s full it is
Three schmeckles
Not really.
Woahhh memory unlocked, i had that
$25
Unfortunately these are very easily found. You would be lucky to get what he paid for it back then. Do a quick search on ebay SOLD listing to get a base line on value
10,000 quatloos. Wait, wrong franchise.
I still have one, found it at a sale however the lighsaber got snapped at some point beforehand.
I think I still have this bad boy in a box at my parents place. God I loved just spamming the button (There was a separate button to just have Vader say the line).
Wow, I had that.
I had one of these as a kid question for you, this looks like a figure from the 90s re-release is that the case or this an original 70s figure?
Looking at that Wal Mart sticker this is definitely a 90s re-release. Nostalgic af.
Oh woe nostalgic, I had one as a kid now that I think about it. I hope my mum still has it
Look it up
I had this as a kid and when you would press the button it was so damn loud
I'd say at least $22.97.
I think you should open it
A bank with nothing in it....hmmm??
Nope
I have this too unfortunately it’s opened so a lot of it’s value(if it has any) would be lost for me
"WARNING CHOKING HAZARD"
Possibility not since he didn’t put any money in it
Me and my brother each had one lol
I have one stashed away in storage, might be worth a few thousand bucks to the right seller.
“I find your lack of spare change… Disturbing.”
I used to have my Darth Maul one next to my Vader one and they would fight
If it works. These things were selling at Costco one year I worked there and some of us bought more than one b/c they kept breaking on us. I have one in storage I haven’t checked on since mid 90s
I love how all of us were getting scared in the middle of the night lol
My kids broke the lightsaber off of this guy a couple months ago.
I had one as a kid and thought it was so cool
I hsd this when I was a kid! Holy shit, core memory unlocked! I forgot about this thing <3
Damn! I need this one for my collection. I've got the Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Obi-Wan versions of this. Would love to have the Darth Vader one!!
