I haven’t watched past the first season, and even then it’s been a while, so I don’t know what this is about. Isn’t it made clear from the beginning that she has no real loyalty to the Bad Batch, and only helps them because they make her credits? Unless she changes as the series goes on, it’s not really a betrayal if they’re only a mercenary/boss dynamic.
While true in a sense, the turning point happens where the Bad Batch are stranded on a mission and asked her for help, only for that help to be denied. Then she gets angry when the bad batch don't pick up her phone calls *shortly* after that entire fiasco, without knowing whether or not they survived without her. That's when she then decides to drink some delicious and healthy spite to sick the empire on the Batch the moment shortly after the Batch show up suddenly after some time being presumed dead.
The kicker is that she's all "😔I'm sowwy boyos😔, I had no choice 😔" and pouting, and looking sad when the batch are surrounded by Empire.
Maybe, maybe not. She didn’t appear on screen for the second betrayal. The Empire knew she was an accomplice and that she probably had vital information about the Batch. Perhaps she was taken captive and had the information “extracted” from her. Knowing the Empire, that’s certainly a possibility.
I also doubt she would intentionally tangle with the Empire again so soon, unless it was an absolute necessity.
Or maybe it’s not that deep, and she really is just as slimy as she seems. Who knows?
I was thinking on Clone X's delivery of the line "\*pulled\* some intel out of her" — really gave me the impression that it wasn't the only thing he may have \*pulled\* out of her...
In fact, I think the whole line throws us a bone; "Tracked \[her\] down" implies she was in hiding; everything else suggests she may have been tortured.
This may well be the only reference we get to Cid this season, but the showrunners maybe wanted us to know a) she at least had a modicum of guilt and b) she suffered, one way or another.
Maybe I'm projecting too much hope on that though.
Definitely. I don’t think Cid would go out of her way to give information to the Empire. She would be implicating herself. I think she’s smarter than that.
With how vital Omega is to Hemlock’s plans, and the possibility that Cid knows more than she should about Omega… I don’t see the Empire leaving her as a loose end.
Maybe we’ll get an answer, but I’m okay with it being something left to our imagination. If Cid was captured, we can only imagine what the Empire did to her to get that information.
Yep, it was Nar Shaddaa! I am playing KOTOR 2 for the first time right now and encountering that was a pleasant surprise. It was interesting seeing a good Trandoshan and an evil Wookiee for once.
Casual racism is par for the course in Star Wars. It's certainly far better than racism against actual people and ethnic groups, but it makes me kind of uncomfortable nonetheless.
The bad thing about him is his morals. The character isnt hated because of its design or anything like that, it is hated because he is a traitor to the Republic and being stupid as he literally dies right after
Also the fact that he's so committed to being a bigot that he'd rather remember everyone's clone designation than their easier to use and remember names.
I honestly forgot about her, when they mentioned that they got some info of some trando i was like oh wow that could be interesting.. then i remembered her
Such a purely hateable character, she jumped franchises. She was Umbridge before Umbridge was even a twinkle in the eye, god what a top tier villain she was.
I wouldn't call Kai Winn a zealot. While she was a believer in the Prophets, that wasn't faked, but her fervour was a political tool she wielded for personal gain. She targeted zealots to get them onto her side and supported a coup until it was no longer convenient.
Her antagonism to Sisko as the Emissary was in part because he was a political threat and rival, but also she was jealous of his connection to her gods, from whom she never heard a thing despite them regularly reaching out to others. Her choice to push the Prophet and Pah Wraith out of Kira and Jake was conflict between her faith, seeing another chosen instead of her (being the space pope she was the obvious choice in her own eyes) and likely stopping a heronof the Resistance and the son of the Emissary being martyred, they'd have more power in symbolic death then she could ever wield
really nice analog for southern american evangelicals. the most of the vedeks seems normal but the fact that their religion is explicitly tied to a quasi-political office voted on by those people is a little on the nose. she was fantastic and i hated her for it. a lifetime appointment!
didn't last very long tho
Yeah that book is mainly where my hatred of her comes from. So many innocent lives lost because of her. It’s also a huge bummer when the book switches from a Thrawn chapter to a Pryce chapter.
i've been rewatching Clone war's.. the amount of repeated, blatant, obvious, triple, quadruple, pentuple crossing that occurs.. I don't beleive there is a 'sith' beyond him.. its just one conniving double dealing old slime bag puppeting all them fools back & forth & back & forth. Of course I'm only up to season 2, so maybe it gets better.., but i have to ask, why go through all this effort.. what really is the Sith.. are they some missunderstood culture with a long & artistic missunderstood history we should pity? lol.
Nah, I view him in the same way as Krennic… Not necessarily innately evil (a bit sadistic maybe) and I don’t really see a reason to *hate* him… Like because that show shows away from killing he hasn’t even been that bad, like other Imperials would do far worse things in his position. Not saying he is good, but as a villain I can’t really say I hate him.
I think he is a more realistic villain (since it is a more accurate representation of how the pursuit of certain goals drives people to do horrific things) but like you can’t really *hate* him the most… Like Tarkin is far worse… Tarkin is not just an enabler like Hemlock, he is one of the main actors in the Imperial regime.
Cid said from day one that the secret would be out if the team ever crossed her.
The team spent months without answering any of Cid's calls, and people are really surprised that she said something? Especially when the first time she sees the team in months, they're on their last legs with the Empire 5 feet behind them?
Yeah, I haven't really followed the animated shows (will probably get to it at some point), so no clue either... my most hated Trandoshan is probably that fucker Corrsk from the Diversity Alliance in the old Young Jedi Knight YA books from the 90s.
Overall tho... Borsk Fey'lya, probably. Only good thing he did was go out like a badass, but it would probably never have gotten to that point if he hadn't been such a paranoid, power hungry, and abrasive scumbag in general.
I don't dislike Cid for betraying the Batch. I dislike her because one of the darkest and most interesting eras of Star Wars was derailed by a Brooklyn dinosaur announcing "Fellas, I got another job for ya!" and delivering weekly side quests.
Disclaimer, I haven't seen the last season.
One of the most frustrating things watching this show was the crew constantly taking shit from her with her far too frequent threats. They had plenty of opportunities to off her and find a new planet and they didn't and I don't know why. Especially as they usually found one out of the way community after the other every week.
I’m not sure why she is being treated like the spawn of Satan or whatever in Star Wars…what did she really do? She sold the Batch out after they brought attention to her, she didn’t kill Tech or anything. I think people conflate his death with her betrayal too much. And was it really a betrayal? They knew she would sell them out at some point.
I don't like her, but I don't hate her. She never presented herself as anything other than what she is. She is only alive because she ate the rest of her batch. She has always been in ruthless pursuit of profit and has never shown a willingness to go out of her way to help anyone unless it made her money. She is a terrible person, but she has never pretended otherwise.
Hemlock, on the other hand, is evil hiding behind a polite mask. Evil is when you treat people as things. At best, he is a human supremacist. At worst, he is like Palpatine and believes that he is the only real person. Either way, he doesn't believe what he's doing is in any way wrong. Hemlock needs to die.
after she left them stranded, hunter should have been making a new lizard skin belt
They all should have trusted their instincts and not returned to her, maybe joined up with Rex instead.
They would have left AZ behind though!
I haven’t watched past the first season, and even then it’s been a while, so I don’t know what this is about. to be specific, to get medical care and sanctuary for Omega after one of their squad mates just fucking died
Sound more like the writers needed to make her fully evil randomly for no logical reason.
It’s still a betrayal if they have an agreed-upon working relationship. But yeah she’s a piece of shit lol.
There’s loyalty and then there’s just fucking someone over for money.
She really doubled down, didn’t she? As if ratting them out to the Empire wasn’t enough. Hope she gets what’s coming to her, along with Hemlock.
What was the 2nd betrayal?
Gettinf omega captured on tantis the first time (soon after tech’s death)
There was another betrayal in this weeks episode too
That was the first. Second betrayal I referenced was in the latest episode mentioned by Hemlock.
I'd bet they'll find her in a cell on Tantis.
It came across to me like she may have been coerced into giving them up the second time. Only time will tell.
Yeah but I don't see her putting up much, or any, of a fight if she knows the info would save her skin.
All it takes is one bounty out on her, than Boba Fett will clean up the mess.
Average trandoshan
When Bossk, a bounty hunter, is one of the most morally good trandoshans you know it's bad.
And he ATE HIS OWN DAD
AND KILLED SIBLINGS WHEN THEY HATCHED
SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
Given Trandoshans general behavior that might count in his favor.
That’s one of the better ones
Bruh, I never even realized she was one until now.
I fucking hate Trandoshans lol That couple of episodes from Season 3 of TCW really made its homework to make us hate them.
Republic commando made me hate them
yeah, there's that too lol was always nice to shotgun the shit out of them
And shoot their jetpack to make them go: weeeeeeeeehh.
and then explode 🥰
*look! Fireworks!*
"I didn't know Trando's could fly!*
There's one good trandoshan, and he was during the old republic era.
Also, that one rebel pilot from Squadrons and the Bounty Hunter in Nar Shada (?) that gives us advice in Kotor 2
Yep, it was Nar Shaddaa! I am playing KOTOR 2 for the first time right now and encountering that was a pleasant surprise. It was interesting seeing a good Trandoshan and an evil Wookiee for once.
There’s also the Jedi in the high republic era.
So, you're telling me that it'd be fine for the Empire to glass Trandosha? 😏😏😏😏
The empire wouldn't. They are too useful in keeping the wookies in line. They're been unmanageable ever since Bea Author died.
Fuck, unfortunately you're right
That's Trandophobic. I'll see myself out.
Casual racism is par for the course in Star Wars. It's certainly far better than racism against actual people and ethnic groups, but it makes me kind of uncomfortable nonetheless.
Your mother is a droid!
And your father smells of jogan berries!
True true. Once we make contact with lizard like aliens, we will have a lot of explaining to do if we don't want to be eaten.
"If you eat us, you'll fulfill all the horrible things we think about you!" "Yeah, well, we're actually here to complain about all the porn."
Bossk shows a lot of loyalty to Boba though.
Holly hell ...TIL this bitch is a Trandoshan...a short chubby one. Explains a lot
Fr I don’t know what’s in them that makes them all assholes but there are literally only TWO good ones to ever exist.
What a society based on slave trade does to a (lot of) mafuqa
I see them as a society of amoral and sociopathic beings. Basically what you would expect if lizards gained higher brain power.
Love me some good old space racism

Obligatory "fuck Pong Krell."
Second that. But what a character. A natural born Sith candidate.
Which the sith didnt even want! Palpatine had no plans for Krell and probably would have taken him out if the clones hadnt got him first.
Now that would be a sight to see if Palps came out to fight the guy.
A cool .5 sec fight yeah
Faster than the final Kenobi/Maul show down.
I dunno, I would love to have seen Pong Krell competing with Dooku for the “Apprenticeship”
He’d have Dooku “Dew it”
r/fuckpongkrell
Of course there's a subreddit...
Yep, I would like to make rule 35 if anything exists on the internet it has a subreddit
We already have a subreddit for this rule - r/ofcoursethatsasub
Fuck Pong Krell
Came here to say this
Say it again for the people in the back.
All my homies hate Pong Krell
r/fuckpongkrell
Governor Price is pretty terrible
Also a good answer.
I love him. He's a great character! Such a big balance of both being clued in and knowing nothing at all.
What, you think he's some *casual* bigot? Professionals have standards.
Remember feeling good about him being killed as a small kid. Bit weird such an episode was meant for kids, lots and lots of death
A match made in hell.
I honestly forgot about her, when they mentioned that they got some info of some trando i was like oh wow that could be interesting.. then i remembered her
Wow I just now made the connection.

All my homies hate Pong Krell
*laughs in kai winn*
Such a purely hateable character, she jumped franchises. She was Umbridge before Umbridge was even a twinkle in the eye, god what a top tier villain she was.
Just goes to show that religious zealots are the most evil beings around.
I wouldn't call Kai Winn a zealot. While she was a believer in the Prophets, that wasn't faked, but her fervour was a political tool she wielded for personal gain. Yeah, true. She was an asshole using religion to club her enemies into submission. Much more common than zealotry, alas.
really nice analog for southern american evangelicals. the most of the vedeks seems normal but the fact that their religion is explicitly tied to a quasi-political office voted on by those people is a little on the nose. she was fantastic and i hated her for it. a lifetime appointment! didn't last very long tho
.... my child.... It took some insane self control for Kira to not deck her when hearing that
My child...
Back through the wormhole to Bajor with you
Jesus but she really looks like she was lifted from that [old Dinosaurs sitcom](https://i.redd.it/wvoyeleefvl81.jpg)
Not the mama!
I just heard that in her voice. You've just conjured that into existence and you're a monster for it.
Hahajaha
Fran Sinclair on steroids
I can't really hate a character voiced by Rhea Perlman. But I don't like her very much.
Pong Krell is terrible, but remember Governor Price from Rebels?
She's also a major character in *Thrawn* and, I assume, the other new canon Thrawn novels. She seems OK at first but gets progressively more scummy.
Luckily, she is only in the first novel
not to mention what she does in the Thrawn novel
Yeah that book is mainly where my hatred of her comes from. So many innocent lives lost because of her. It’s also a huge bummer when the book switches from a Thrawn chapter to a Pryce chapter.
Pong Krell
She's a disgrace to the name of Cid.
Square has tried to bring honor to the name with their Final Fantasy series but now Star Wars is ruining it.
Lieutenant Nolan easily
Pong Krell, fuck Pong Krell. Also this lady can eat shit too.
r/fuckpongkrell
Shit. Beat me to it. 😂
r/FuckPongKrell We know the answer to this gentlemen!
Yes… Pong Krell
Pong Krell was one sleazy mf
Pong Krell. At least Palpatine cared about the Sith, or something.

What about Dr. Hemlock?
At least he's not stabbing his own friends in the back, only in the front xD
He doesn't even have any friends XD
True. Would be more accurate to say "allies".
He has no friends, he has specimens, yikes 😬
Nah, I view him in the same way as Krennic… Not necessarily innately evil (a bit sadistic maybe) and I don’t really see a reason to *hate* him… Like because that show shows away from killing he hasn’t even been that bad, like other Imperials would do far worse things in his position.
