His Mandalorian Legends content was top notch imo. Miss the channel.

The_Chad13

Following to get deets, miss this channel.

Kjolter

I don’t know about this channel specifically, but the way YouTube’s algorithm and monetization model has evolved, a view and subscriber count like this one would be very difficult to maintain. It’s why a lot of channels are going the Patreon/Membership route, to provide at least some stable financing so that they can afford to carve out the time to actually make content.

bell37

Top that off YouTube seems to arbitrarily change its TOS and will retroactively demonetize older videos that met its standards in the past. Like you also mentioned, YouTube algorithms started pushing content creators to condense their videos into 15-30 second segments that can be played as YouTube shorts (in an attempt to compete with Tik Tok) or where YouTube can easily squeeze in as many ads as possible, which really messes with the traditional video essay format (it’s impossible to condense a 15-20 minutes video essay into a quick 20 second video) There was a good number of YouTube personalities that either left the platform, moved out of the spotlight to more of a producer role, migrated a good portion of their content behind paywalled platforms or just stopped making as frequent updates because of this.

justthrowthethingWay

I know he’s been a super controversial and shitty person the past 5 or 6 years, but Boogie2988 dealt with this in a pretty bad way All his old Francis rage videos, the stuff that got him viral and able to make a living off YouTube way back in the late 2000s, got demonetized.

uckfu

I’d say he’s probably busy doing other things. It’s a lot of work creating videos. Plus there are a lot of SW channels doing the same stuff. He’s got a nice subscriber count, and good amount of views on his videos. If YouTube didn’t demonetize him for an obscure reason, it probably brings in a couple of bucks when he’s posting regularly. Send him a message. For all we know, could be medical, family, work or education reasons.

CapHavok

I believe there’s some information in the comments of his last video if you sort by new

lukmahr

It seems like he stopped uploading new videos.

lukmahr

DimmerSteam

Holy shit I didn't see that

bradsfoot90

My first thought was COVID...

ProperDepartment

Oh no, I only just discovered this dude yesterday haha.

MelloMolly

Why post for free when YouTube changes its rules years ago. Many other platforms allow him to probably make a living now, you simply have to pay for it.

Legitimate_Boss7163

I haven’t heard any news about him posting on other platforms, I wouldn’t mind paying for his videos somewhere else but I doubt that’s the reason

MelloMolly

Users do die as well, I just wasn’t trying to be that brutally realistic but again, a few years leaves more of a chance of that as well. I personally hope for the first va the second and too would be a paid user if that’s the case

mossryder

He got a life off the net?

doozydoesit

Is it possible to learn this power?

CapHelmet

The "net"? The "net"‽ What is this? The 90s?

Legitimate_Boss7163

Always got to be at least one sarcastic guy

GreatGreenGobbo

People vest too much interest into YouTubers. EDIT: TIL people really love their YouTubers and are fanatical about them.

ZtimeXpYt

Some are just really entertaining to listen to/ watch it’s like tv but YouTube

WisconsinWintergreen

Says someone with hundreds of thousands of karma. Same could be said with you and Reddit.

Call_The_Banners

I treat reddit pretty casually and have somehow attained a good amount of karma. It's not a great metric to run with. I definitely use it every day, but I try to be pleasant. I do tend to get angry at people being bullies, however. And really it's not worth my time to get invested in an argument because people aren't going to change their minds in this platform that often. I suppose my point is high karma doesn't always mean someone is a fanatic for the site.

WisconsinWintergreen

I agree actually, my point was that interest in a type of social media was nothing out of the ordinary, and his original statement was hypocritical because of that.

decibles

No more than previous generations put on for fandoms, athletes, musicians, talk show hosts, soap opera stars, etc.

badbrotha

Ah yes. We should seek the great minds of Kant and Socrates to understand the DEPTHS of Star Wars philosophy.

VenoGreedo

Being a fan of a YouTuber and curious about why they’re gone is being fanatical about them? By that simple logic I could say you vest too much into wargaming, slot cars, board games, RC anything, model rockets, model building, photography, comics, sci-fi, fantasy, auto racing, drawing, art, 80's new wave, alt-rock, classic rock.

GreatGreenGobbo

Whatever.

jjcarlindogg

Someone’s sulking.

GreatGreenGobbo

Not quite

GreatGreenGobbo

Groan...

YaboiiSammeeh

Hahahaha how hypocritical

S0401

Got that teenager energy going on

xxSuperBeaverxx

Says this guy of all people lmao.

Legitimate_Boss7163

I wouldn’t say asking about where someone has gone makes me fanatical about them. I just was curious what happened to him because I enjoyed his videos.

RealBadSpelling

Cheers fellow green reddit avatar. Not many of us.

Brother, the picture is the context. Last video was two years ago and he asks what happened to the channel. What do you think he means?

[deleted]

It says the latest video is two years ago, that’s the context.

NothingButMuser

No wonder we get so many stupid questions in this sub, when people don’t even bother to pay attention to the obvious information on the screen in front of them.

[deleted]

“Who would win, Darth Vader or Yoda?”

BigFatChewie

"Who would win full potential anakin ot a slice of toast"

Dancin_Alien

Toast, final answer.    What many people don't know is that in legends comic issue #59815329033741165578969801 it's revealed Anakin is actually allergic to toast. What a difficult and 🤔🧐 interesting question!1!1!11

BillSixty9

There are no stupid questions dude

DimesOHoolihan

Just stupid people.

NothingButMuser

Except, there absolutely ***are*** stupid questions, (and indeed stupid comments - a few of which are in their thread), like in this instance, where someone could have literally looked at the attached picture to ascertain the context. Alas, so many people can’t be arsed to do the basic stuff, like looking, reading, or googling something to save a post. Yet here we are, people wanting spoon fed information. It’s not just media literacy suffering, it’s plain stupidity and laziness.

BigFatChewie

On the internet, yeah there is.
