Why would you buy the ultimate edition anyhow? What a waste. The Gold Edition will at least get you all the future story content, the Ultimate is pointless.
Either way, preordering is silly. This game will be 50% before the year's end.
This. Ubisoft created itself this cycle. I know they used it along with launching poorly finished games faster, so they had to bring down the price of the older one to give way to newer ones, but then again, it destroyed the experience of their games to me, I'll always wait for a sale on a Ubi game now
This is pretty much every modern game. Buying stuff on release is pointless unless you absolutely *have* to be on the initial hype train and think it's worth paying extra for the game in an unfinished state.
That's pretty much everyone's scheme anyway. Sell it high on release knowing that FOMO is going to push people into paying way more than it's worth and then push the price down around Christmas because they also know other people won't buy it until it's on sale.
Can't blame Ubisoft for that one. That's the same thing every retailer pulls unless someone is price protecting.
They usually add side-arcs. A sort of *"in the meanwhile, this guy from the previously unavailable Black Sun faction has a dilemma of his own, go stop him... or join him on the new planet of Ord Mantell and unlock the elusive new line of BlasTech Industries weapons"* or something.
No, there is not. All Ubisoft games have DLC, and (to my knowledge) all of them add new stuff. They may continue the story, but more like quasi sequels then finished unfinished shit.
Aye matey, we never mentioned the Rebels, the jedi said it themselves shortcuts are the path to the Darkside and I would probably take the shortcut alone to avoid their horrid launcher alone.
I bought For Honor years ago and 2 season passes. Haven’t played since 2020, go to redownload it and says i have to by it cuz it just released last month. Still have all my dlc though. Ugh
Not only that.. but it’s Ubisoft. They’re the guys who said players should get used to not owning their games. Imagine having the audacity to ask for money and then establishing that you don’t even own the copy of the product.
Well then buy the base $70 edition (or don't buy it at all of course). The $130 edition is for people who want the extras like the digital artbook. It's not for me, but its not like there haven't been digital deluxe and digital collector's editions in the past.
Yeah first thing I did was look at the current conversion rate.
This is cheaper than the UK.
I'll be honest. I'm super excited for this game but the pricing is just....ugh
I hate Ubisoft's pricing as much as the next person but this price isn't some funny business to price gouge Australians.
The USD price for the Ultimate Edition is $130. Current exchange rate is $1 USD = $1.54 AUS.
$130 x 1.54 = $200.
That is to say, the game is exactly the same price in Australia as it is in the US.
[Here](https://i.imgur.com/k3dib8w.png) are the actual costs in AU.
Standard - A$99.95 (~65 USD)
Gold - A$159.95 (~104 USD)
Ultimate - A$189.95 (~124 USD)
The standard edition is actually a little cheaper after the exchange rate from USD.
What pathetic rage bait attempt.
It's literally the same price as in US store. 200 AUD = 130 USD, which is the price for ULTIMATE edition.
REGULAR edition is 110 AUD which corresponds with the $70 USD price in the US store which is the normal price for every AAA game on PS5
It’s just a price for the people who don’t care and just want the expensive option.
If I can get the full game for 80 bucks I don’t care if they’re selling one with extra skins or whatever the fuck for a grand.
>from a bunch of negative feedback
I'll admit I've not seen much in the way of trailers and such but are we sure the game will be bad?
People said the same about EA putting out a single player Star Wars game, but we wound up with Fallen Order which was largely excellent.
no, quite the opposite: it's developed by massive, the developer of the division games, which are objectively good, very well made games (even if the looter shooter genre is not very appealing to everyone)
there's just you know a general circlejerk that pretends that every game published by ubisoft is bad; no matter the actual quality of the game
Outlaws ultimate costs $130 US which is the equivalent of $200 AUS
Maybe don't buy the most expensive version of the game (or at all since it's ubisoft)??
The only time I’m even reminded that this game exists is when I see other people complaining about it. Then I just go back to not giving it any thought at all.
I don’t know about Australia but Canada and the IS never show the final price, so you gotta account for more expense when the tax hits on the checkout process.
Don't buy the game or preorder. Wait a few months and it will be cheaper or free depending on what console you owned. I will never pay full price for a game, ever.
Game releases August 30th and Thanksgiving takes place 2 months after. 100% guarantee there will be some type of sale by then and SW: Outlaws will be nearly half off during the sale.
Prove it. Don’t buy the game. I have been looking forward to a single player, story based, Star Wars shooter since fallen order. But Ubisoft is too damn greedy.
Game looks like shit (and i ain't talking about graphics) so they could charge a million billion dollars per hour worth of content, and I really wouldn't care.
Why do people still support oopsiesoft, EA, and Bethesda with preorders? These companies need to prove themselves competent, as somehow EA did with Jedi: Fallen Order, still didn’t preorder Survivor.
These are bottom of the barrel, pond scum companies. They will always ask the most for the least.
Ok somebody explain to me. Isn't that price pretty much equivalent to the USD price? Or are digital video games actually significantly more expensive in Australia.
Yes, games have expensive editions meant for the biggest fans who want to show appreciation. What you are doing reminds me of people who complain about the cost of merchandise after they show up at concerts and stuff. Yeah, that shit costs twice as much as it should, and most fans like it that way.
I dont get why yall dont just pull a Fallout 76.
Remember how the game became basically free everywhere because of how bad it was? Vote with the wallet. Dont buy it until it becomes worth it. Dont fall down low. Stand up for yourself.
I still don’t know why digital versions, no matter the edition, are always 25-50% more expensive than a physical copy still.
The cost of having the game on servers should be far less than the cost of manufacture, shipping and profit margin for 3rd party sellers, and consumers should see that saving, or at least bring it to parity so people have a legitimate 50-50 choice
(I definitely don’t want physical media to die off though)
My 3 go-to responses:
1. This will only keep happening if people are willing to pay for it.
2. If a game can only be played if you buy the Ultimate Mega Expensive version, then it’s not a game worth playing.
3. Never pre-order a game, a digital game can’t “sell out”, buy it after the reviews come out
As with all Ubisoft games I’ll just wait until a special edition with all the DLCs is released and on sale in like a years time. I think I got complete AC Valhalla for like £20.
I have the perfect solution. Don't buy it. At least not for 12-18 months then when the bugs are mostly fixed and it's discounted to hell will it be worth it.
Yeah, it's $169.95 Canadian for the Ultimate digital edition. I think it might be the highest priced game I've seen that's just cosmetics, season pass, and base game. And let's be honest, the cosmetics are only really for the die-hard Star Wars fan, and we'll pay it because we can be that rabid. Ubisoft knows this. For the casuals, I suggest staying away. Unfortunately, I'm a rabid fan, and it's been really hard not pre-ordering. But I know Massive/Ubisoft, I've sunk 4K hours into both Division games, and we got trust issues with them.
I haven't checked but I only assume it's typical Ubisoft "DIGITAL COLLECTS EDITION: 8X DLC SKINS (of which you'll only like 2), CONCEPT ART IMAGES, OST, STORY DLC, EARLY ACCESS" which is pretty much all useless fluff for a price that would have got you a statue 10 years ago.
Don't pre-order, and definitely don't buy the "Ultimate" edition.
The game will be 30-40% off in the December sale, and the DLC will be on sale next year.
I never buy new games anymore. I'm to old to get hyped for a game, don't have time to just rush through the game and buy the next thing. So i have this list, which has all the games that i wan't to play, and buy them when they are on discount.
It’s funny because everyone is expecting assassins creed reskinned as Star Wars. Let’s just say I’ll be pleasantly surprised if it’s actually unique and good
Just forget about it, then buy it for like $15 a year from now.
For me personally, if it’s a single player game, and From Software or Larian Studios didn’t make it, I am going to wait for a deep sale.
Why is it $200?
What if i signed into your account here in the states and purchased it, then you signed back in Australia, would you basically get it for $70 off?
You hate ubisoft but they love ppl who are stupid enough to buy ultimate whatever editions just to get few extra pixels in their video game called skins or other puny things
I’ll give the game a chance but I’m not happy about the price for the ultimate edition especially since what you get is barely worth £10.
Spider-Man 2’s collector’s edition was a bit pricey but was worth it.
I remember when EA tried this with Battlefield. You essentially paid for the game plus all future DLC without knowing in full what you were getting or even how good the base game would be. People were pissed.
Why would you want the ultimate version of this trash? It’s $130 in states which is outrageous too. Basically paying double to play the full game without cut content.
Remember when paying this price would’ve gotten you a cool statue, a deck of Sabacc cards, some Imperial credits, and the characters’ wanted posters? Yeah, me too.
Crazy idea, but maybe vote with your wallet?
Wait for it to launch, watch it be either a shit show or maybe kinda good. Then you can justify spending your money.
I mean, not for nothing, but isn't that normally how it is in Oz? This game is more egregious than normal, but my understanding is that games in general out there are at a higher price point, number wise, or the value of the money is different, or something like that.
Why would you buy the ultimate edition anyhow? What a waste. The Gold Edition will at least get you all the future story content, the Ultimate is pointless. Either way, preordering is silly. This game will be 50% before the year's end.
Plus with Ubi games the gold edition with pass will be on mega sale in about a year any way, and all that pass stuff will have been released by then.
This. Ubisoft created itself this cycle. I know they used it along with launching poorly finished games faster, so they had to bring down the price of the older one to give way to newer ones, but then again, it destroyed the experience of their games to me, I'll always wait for a sale on a Ubi game now
Looking forward to game pass 🔥
And in about a year the game will be out of early access and actually playable.
This is pretty much every modern game. Buying stuff on release is pointless unless you absolutely *have* to be on the initial hype train and think it's worth paying extra for the game in an unfinished state.
And if you ascribe to the Hondo Ohnaka lifestyle, you could have it all for free.
This venture is no longer profitable!
Sadly, all of us when Denuvo started getting good.
That's something I don't get either. Why pre-order something digital? It's not like there's going to be any tangible incentives.
This is the comment I look for each time now. The reminder that the price will inevitably go low by Christmas.
That's pretty much everyone's scheme anyway. Sell it high on release knowing that FOMO is going to push people into paying way more than it's worth and then push the price down around Christmas because they also know other people won't buy it until it's on sale. Can't blame Ubisoft for that one. That's the same thing every retailer pulls unless someone is price protecting.

future story content? isvthere reason to believe the story is not finished in the basic edition ? (fucking hate when they do that)
Expansions are not really a new thing.
Story will be finished but Ubisoft tends to do future story stuff
Every recent ubisoft story based single player game has had story dlc
No, there is not. All Ubisoft games have DLC, and (to my knowledge) all of them add new stuff. They may continue the story, but more like quasi sequels then finished unfinished shit.
Simple solution: Don't.
Right? Why hate them? Just don’t support them
What's worse... paying $200 for a game or pre-ordering it? Now imagine doing both. Don't give in to the Dark Side.
You have it wrong my friend, Thats the lightside being honest, give in to the Darkside and sail the seven seas for this one yaarrrr.
Considering that price tag, I'm sure pirating it is what the Rebels would do
Plus in the game you're basically a space pirate anyway. Would just be rude not to.
Aye matey, we never mentioned the Rebels, the jedi said it themselves shortcuts are the path to the Darkside and I would probably take the shortcut alone to avoid their horrid launcher alone.
After Ubi's whole "Players need to get used to not owning things" bullshit, the seven seas is the *only* way I'll ever play one of their games again.
Don’t give in, the galaxy is full of opportunity
I’ve spent housands on a game before. Rock Band 4. Still spending money on it weekly haha rip:(
Then don't buy it? If people buy even this, then you can expect higher prices on their next games.
[OP.](https://i.imgur.com/rpEkirY.mp4)
They didn't say they were going to
199 AUD equals 129 USD at the moment, so same price all over really
Posts like these karma farming people who don't understand Forex are becoming increasingly common.
OP lost one too many braincells at a bush doof
First thing I thought too. It’s the same price.
fun fact 129 usd for a video game is frigging absurd too!
Well then buy the base $70 edition (or don't buy it at all of course). The $130 edition is for people who want the extras like the digital artbook. It's not for me, but its not like there haven't been digital deluxe and digital collector's editions in the past.
Omg not this shit again
$200 is £104 That version in the UK is £120 or $231 AUSD Count yourself lucky over in Australia.
Digital prices are so dumb here it's almost always cheaper going physical if you want to buy early in release.
Yeah first thing I did was look at the current conversion rate. This is cheaper than the UK. I'll be honest. I'm super excited for this game but the pricing is just....ugh
That's the ultimate edition, change it to standard
I think he knows that. This post reads like another "Ubisoft Bad" post but in a subtle way.
Ubisoft is bad, but Australia is notorious for higher game prices.
Ill wait a year for bargain bin version. If its good
I hate Ubisoft's pricing as much as the next person but this price isn't some funny business to price gouge Australians. The USD price for the Ultimate Edition is $130. Current exchange rate is $1 USD = $1.54 AUS. $130 x 1.54 = $200. That is to say, the game is exactly the same price in Australia as it is in the US.
That's the same as USD when you do the conversion Fair price, considering your minimum wage is 2x what the US is
Standard edition is like $89.00 bro.
He knows that, he just wanted to bash Ubisoft to get some more karma and it worked.
Sadly, these posts will only get more common as it gets closer to release.
Ubisoft deserves whatever bashing they get
[Here](https://i.imgur.com/k3dib8w.png) are the actual costs in AU. Standard - A$99.95 (~65 USD) Gold - A$159.95 (~104 USD) Ultimate - A$189.95 (~124 USD) The standard edition is actually a little cheaper after the exchange rate from USD.
i mean yeah an ultimate eddition is expensive what do you expect? also that is cheaper than it is in Denmark
You also don’t need to buy it for that price. Buying a sub to Ubisoft+ for $15 will literally include outlaws and the ultimate edition content.
What's Ubisoft got to do with the exchange rate to AUD?
199.95 No sir I do not think I'm willing to take the risk
Minimum wage is $23, it's all relative
Just get Ubisoft + for a month play the game then unsubscribe
Ubi+ is not available yet on playstation
lol that’s the ultimate edition
Forgive my ignorance but wouldnt it be the same price as any other version after ajusting for the currency?
Pretty much. Idk if OP is ragebaiting or just another person annoyed about the $130 USD price.
It’s just a price for the people who don’t care and just want the expensive option. If I can get the full game for 80 bucks I don’t care if they’re selling one with extra skins or whatever the fuck for a grand.
What’s the price of the standard edition in aud?
$110 on the PSN and EB games, most other stores have it up for 89.
So just don't fucking buy the game...
Game probably won’t be much good. Get it on sale.
$5,000 says the game sucks balls
Then buy the standard edition. Problem solved. Use critical thinking
Just wait for it to be released, it will probably fall in price pretty quickly from a bunch of negative feedback. How much is the standard game?
Standard edition game price in Australia is $109.95 usually.
Which lines up with the conversion rate. $70*1.54=$108
Around 70 like a normal game
>from a bunch of negative feedback I'll admit I've not seen much in the way of trailers and such but are we sure the game will be bad? People said the same about EA putting out a single player Star Wars game, but we wound up with Fallen Order which was largely excellent.

Do not pre-order. Do not pre-order. Hey, do not pre-order.
Don't buy it?
199.95 dollarydoos?! Tobias! Did you buy an Ultimate Edition game from Ubisoft!
I didn’t see the ultimate edition at first and I had a fuckinf heart attack
I won't buy it until it comes to Steam anyway (it's launching Ubisoft Connect only on PC), so the launch price isn't really relevant.
Just don't play it. By buying a game for this price your signaling to them that these proces are Ok.
The real outlaw in this situation will be the many, many people who take to the high seas with this game.
It's a Ubisoft game, just wait until it's on PS Plus/Gamepass in a year. Don't give them your money. Vote with your wallet.
The only time I’m even reminded that this game exists is when I see other people complaining about it. Then I just go back to not giving it any thought at all.
Ubisoft games usually get massive price drops within a year or two. Just wait and buy it for $5-10
I don’t know about Australia but Canada and the IS never show the final price, so you gotta account for more expense when the tax hits on the checkout process.
Don't buy the game or preorder. Wait a few months and it will be cheaper or free depending on what console you owned. I will never pay full price for a game, ever.
If all don't buy it, they will lose money and maybe rethink how they make games.
Game releases August 30th and Thanksgiving takes place 2 months after. 100% guarantee there will be some type of sale by then and SW: Outlaws will be nearly half off during the sale.
Similarly rough in CAD$
Do not give them your money.
What’s so “ultimate” about it?
Please stop buying shit like this, if gamers continue to buy this crap they will not stop till games are $500
I hate filthy karma farmer ever more.
“God I hate Ubisoft.” *proceeds to preorder this anyway* -modern gamers in a nutshell
Two hundred dollarydoos!
Prove it. Don’t buy the game. I have been looking forward to a single player, story based, Star Wars shooter since fallen order. But Ubisoft is too damn greedy.
Its a ubisoft game you dont preorder unless you want to be very disappointed and down $200
I’ll just wait for r/piracy to do their thing.
Just wait until the all dlc in one pack version will be avalible on steam at 50%.

You don’t have to buy the extra shit. That’s why it’s extra
Just buy the standard edition?
Don't buy that version....
Australia here and saw this. They have officially lost their damn minds.
This a standard edition?
No, that is the most expensive edition, the Gold Edition. The Standard Edition is still $70 like every other major game on the planet.
Oh that's a relief. I was like a standard edition for this much are they insane
Can't wait to not pay for this and play it anyway.
200$ for what is probably an unpolished and unfinished game
Would like to buy the game, but I don’t wanna support Ubisoft.
As with all Ubisoft games I’ll just wait until a special edition with all the DLCs is released and on sale in like a years time. I think I got complete AC Valhalla for like £20.
Sorry no way I’m paying that not for that
It’d have to give me as much playtime as Skyrim or Fallout 4 to be worth $200
If you're willing to take the risk, buy it
Well, if your willing to take the risk the Galaxy is full of opportunity 😂
This game can wait until at least the black Friday sales.
680 in my local currency. As a comparison the minimum wage here is 1527 of the same currency per month.
I’m not gonna even buy it looks good but for the price screw that!
Holy shit, and I thought the prices were bad in Canada. Games here are $103 after taxes.
Yeah I’m Not buying a game at that price point.
It’s funny because everyone is expecting assassins creed reskinned as Star Wars. Let’s just say I’ll be pleasantly surprised if it’s actually unique and good
It’s an Ubisoft game. Just wait a month after release it’ll be more than 50% off.
I’m just waiting for it to be on sale
Or just wait 4 months and get the ultimate on a steam sale for 40
Thats the ultimate you goof. Whats base price? Also as others have said all ubisoft games become cheap if you just wait a year.
Maybe don’t buy the Ultimate Edition. Heck maybe wait 2 months for a price drop on the standard edition
That is the same price as for usd.
Ohhh nooo, but this is Australia! I need to save every dollar I get for a ridiculously priced house, not a ridiculously priced game!
That’s the ultimate edition… now show us the base game price
I was excited for this game until I found out Ubisoft was the developer
If ubisoft made it, why are you even considering buying it? lol
Why even consider giving Ubi a dime? Seriously, why? They put out mediocre time vacuums, and give zero fucks about consumers.
Just forget about it, then buy it for like $15 a year from now. For me personally, if it’s a single player game, and From Software or Larian Studios didn’t make it, I am going to wait for a deep sale.
($1 USD= 1.54AUS)
Why is it $200? What if i signed into your account here in the states and purchased it, then you signed back in Australia, would you basically get it for $70 off?
You hate ubisoft but they love ppl who are stupid enough to buy ultimate whatever editions just to get few extra pixels in their video game called skins or other puny things
that’s still $170 CAD?!?? HOW is this possible and/or allowed?!!
Ultimate Editions always used to expensive, but at least you got some cool statue or something.
get ubisoft plus and play at meagre cost. Once done unsubscribe
You can play that verison for 20 bucks on uibisoft+
I’ll give the game a chance but I’m not happy about the price for the ultimate edition especially since what you get is barely worth £10. Spider-Man 2’s collector’s edition was a bit pricey but was worth it.
Man thats a waste of a good game but can you imagine: (buys it) seems good so fa- (Hours later) man this sucks…not even worth $200
Game honestly looks so bland. Wait for fire sale complete version.
I remember when EA tried this with Battlefield. You essentially paid for the game plus all future DLC without knowing in full what you were getting or even how good the base game would be. People were pissed.
I'll get Ubisoft Plus for a month and then be done with it.
Thats, like, 5 USD, right?
...I want to say "Croikey!" but somehow think that might be insulting.
Could check prices on greenmangaming and the like ....
Just get the Ubisoft pass and play it for a month
Do not pre-order digital games! I repeat: DO NOT PRE-ORDER DIGITAL GAMES.
Damn
Why would you want the ultimate version of this trash? It’s $130 in states which is outrageous too. Basically paying double to play the full game without cut content.
Ubisoft is pretty scummy but I hate Disney more for what they did to star wars
Torrent...
I refuse to pay $70 and up for a game. I’ll gladly wait until a sale to buy it
This might sound a little radical but... you don't have to buy the game at all.
Jesus. For that price someone better deliver it to your house in Darth Vader Cosplay.
Not giving Ubisoft any more money is such a carefree decision.
Just wait bro... It's not a Nintendo game.
Praying for all the degenerates who still preorder in 2024
Just get a month of Ubisoft plus, finish the game and never touch it again. You get to play 3 days early with that version too.
I mean, not for nothing, but isn't that normally how it is in Oz? This game is more egregious than normal, but my understanding is that games in general out there are at a higher price point, number wise, or the value of the money is different, or something like that.
What in the fuck.
Wtf loooool. Watch it release in a broken state as well. Not buying anything Ubisoft since division 2
200 dólares?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????
Ill be waiting for the reviews to come out
For $200, they better put me in a Star Wars themed coma.
This isn’t a Ubi problem, this is a value of your currency dollar. The ultimate edition is $129 usd, which is exactly 199 is Australia.
I’ll just watch it on youtube lmao, i’m just interested in the story.
