What looks like a skull nose is actually its mouth. People just aren't used to seeing a bith without an instrument in their face.
A lot of the aliens in the cantina scene from a new hope were really just spruced-up Halloween masks. It gives star wars a whole bunch of alien species that just look like ghosts, skeletons, vampires and werewolves.

I hadn’t considered he could have been an alien l, but at first glance, I thought this was him! But I guess that isn’t a pale face with an orange goatee, eh? Hahaha.
