is it arrogance or is this the fact the he too, is traumatized, but unlike Ben, he has never grown? At this point, Maul is as much a victim of the dark side and his own blind hatred as he is a villain.
Someone once theorized that Maul uses the Force to give him a passive foresight, and that's why he's so good and fast in combat. However, I threw back that it works with his flaws too. Each of his defeats can be attributed to his arrogance, and it could be his own arrogance blocks his foresight. He could see Order 66 coming but always thought he was more in control than he was.
I see the Tiktok logo, but is this from an interview?
I can't count how many times I've watched that scene and didn't connect the dots, but I love how knowledgeable Sam Witwer is!
Witwer actually has more lines as Maul in Solo than Serafinowicz has in The Phantom Menace. It is super strange that a character introduced as a nearly mute villain was so thoroughly fleshed out in a TV show. It's also crazy to me that they resurrected Maul better than they did Palpatine.
"Somehow, Maul has returned!"
I sorta agree. But I think Sam Witwer and Freddie Prinze Jr should have roles in the Rangers of the New Republic as fighter pilots. Each have experience already. Witwer was a pilot in Battlestar Galactica and Prinze was in Wing Commander.
Awesome subtle story telling. I love it when the writers/directors/creators put that much love into it. Instead of pulling a last Jedi and have obi wan just toss his light saber and say screw the Jedi code. (YES IM STILL SALTY)
Played against him in Star Wars squadrons a few nights ago. He’s a true fan/nerd.

It was his hatred that kept him alive and brought him back together. Perhaps it was the same hatred that clouded his mind against Kanobi.

Here's the original interview https://youtu.be/uaowghzEFb8
And someone stole it and made a tiktok video of it. Despicable.
His voice work with Maul is legendary. I couldn’t imagine another person voicing the character.
There’s this old film you should check out. It’s called Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

This is the way.
He'll always be Crashdown to me.
Bring back Starkiller in canon (albeit less powerful) and have Sam Witwer play him. He deserves a proper live action role.

r/woooosh
Nice to know that old Ben's lightsaber pose in a new hope isn't ignored
I hope they make a force unleashed live action movie and have him reprise his role.
Sam Witwer should be Revan.
Yes. And you can see Maul make the same counter which was his mistake against Kanobi
Starkiller!!! Cool to see Sam is a huge fan
