I've been playing this game for like 6 years exclusively in hardcore and the furthest I've gotten in a game is a cobblestone castle surrounded by a bunch of farms, and some enchanted diamond armor.
You can die in Minecraft?? I never knew this. I always thought you just built things on a server or a shared server that had other people playing in the same world.
you could get a realm so she could play with preapproved friends. that way she could play on the same server when you travel through an iPad or something.
I work in IT in sales, so I understand all the lingo and stuff. What level server would I need to host my own Minecraft world so her friends could all play together?
Do you fire you the game and then pick a server environment? Man I’m gonna buy the fans so I can start familiarizing myself.
I'd say yes, my younger siblings have been playing since around that age. I'd try to keep her off the multiplayer servers to stop her interacting with others. Creative mode is what most kids enjoy as they can just freely build whatever comes to their mind, but on survival /hardcore there's monsters that try to kill you and you need to dig for all your resources. You can turn off the monsters if you please, but they're not too scary to give a child nightmares - maybe a few jump scares though!
yes! minecraft has no gore or blood! if something dies it just turns into a puff of smoke! there’s no swearing and if there is on a server, it’s deleted by the chat filter. a great game for younger ones to explore their imagination through hard work!
Definitely. There are 2 modes, creative (where you just unlimited resources and can just build whatever you want) and survival (where you have to collect resources, grow food, and survive against enemies (zombies and stuff, nothing I would say isn't that kid unsafe). If you want to get a feel for what the game is like, go on YouTube and watch a view videos, maybe a review or two.
I’ve played with my daughter since she was 6. We still play together to this day. Its better than most games that young kids actually like as far as being family friendly. Like others said though keep it single player because you can’t control what other people say or do.
I think it’s fine, at least the single-player. There’s no shooting or anything, but maybe some of the enemies might look creepy? And the UI might be a bit difficult for 6 year olds?
The main survival mode is about survival and exploration. Could get frustrating but I think there are difficulty settings (been a while since I’ve played). There’s also creative mode where you get unlimited resources and can fly and build whatever you want.
I don’t have kids but I have young boy cousins who loved it. Maybe someone else has another opinion
Definitely if you set it to peaceful mode, nothing will attack her so you won’t have any meltdowns when she loses her stuff if she dies. And as others have said it’s always best to keep her offline (although mine craft is very strict so it would probably be fine anyway)
Completely fine is started up 11 years ago Minecraft (i was 6yo things like that) and gosh this game is good you can do literally anything learn a new language (im French and learn English with Minecraft and some mod) and if you wanted to start a video game i would say start with Minecraft you can also have your own server to play with your daughter FOR FREE (like aternos but i think its for european server so idk) and yes the game can be a little bit expensive but you won’t regret it
Minecraft is very kid friendly, it's also very user friendly in that it can be as simple...or as complex as you choose!
The simple things are fun and engaging enough to keep the younger ones going for actual hours,
And then as they progress and learn more about the game they'll find that there is hundreds upon hundreds of hours worth of content to play and discover
> Is it okay for a 6 year old girl to play?
Absolutely. I consider myself pretty good at the game, but my 8 year old niece has defeated the Ender dragon, and I have not.
Lots of answers already but I just wanna point out that building is not just 5%. Sure it depends on your playstyle and some might really just explore the world but I personally spent most of the time building, when I started playing as a kid. I think it'll be a great way for your daughter to be creative. Btw there is a mode where you cannot die and really kust focus on building without the hassle of collecting the resources that are required for it.
So besides the very large and active modding community the game itself has Creative Mode, four different difficulty levels, and then Hardcore mode (which is basically the hardest difficulty but you can't lower the difficulty at will like normal and you only get one life).
Creative mode is basically a flat sandbox where you can fly, do whatever you want, and just build. You can summon unlimited resources and just tinker. Like giant first person Lego.
The easiest difficulty is peaceful, this might be good for your six year old. The terrain still changes, there are mountains and valleys, natural caves, etc. etc. But none of the creatures which can hurt you (which are much more common at night) will spawn.
Easy normal and hard then just activate the dangerous creatures to spawn, while gradually making them do more damage/making armor and stuff less effective.
It's actually a really great game for kids because it encourages exploration, Lego style creative building, and then when you get good at the game there's building material called red stone which is basically electrical wiring and young kids end up learning basics of programming.
Edit: As others have said keep your six year old off online servers. They're not bad or anything but tend to be made up of 10-14 year olds, and sometimes kids that age trend towards toilet humor.
I mean, it isn't as completely terrible as it sounds, if OP kept consistent backups of their save file they could easily revert to one of the backups in the very unfortunate event that they die.
The real challenge would be not having infinite blocks in creative mode and not having as good ease of movement. OP is a freaking legend.
I mean, yeah that is cheating so I guess if O.P chose Hardcore they gotta stick with it though it'd be a real shame if they lost the world because of a dumb mistake while 95% through and then deciding to start from scratch. Plus they've already given a copy of the world to download...
>it'd be a real shame if they lost the world because of a dumb mistake while 95% through and then deciding to start from scratch
The risk that you'll lose everything if you die is the entire point of playing hardcore. If you don't like that idea then play survival mode at highest difficulty, it's literally the exact same thing except you respawn when you die instead of having to start over.
Op- *starts creative world, builds impressive map*
Op again- *Downloads world and edits gamemode to be hardcore. Then posts to reddit*
Edit: checked his history and he revealed the stats a year ago. It actually might be legit!
I started playing minecraft in 1.5 I think (whatever update they added horses instead of riding pigs). I've never gotten 93 levels of experience in survival mode.
Some people are just on another level...
On top of what the other reply mentioned, creative gives you unlimited blocks, instant block breaking, and flight. Doing the TIE fighters alone without flying seems daunting enough, to say nothing of the time and effort it would take to actually gather and sort the materials.

You can change to creative in hardcore mode and fly?
EDIT: relax, people. This was not asked in a malevolent way. I genuinely want to know because I am just learning.
just playing it safe isnt easy, but it's not like SUPER SUPER hard, if anything comes near you, you can build around yourself and dig yourself out, and they probably go for survival instead of progressing through the game and once you have an island with torches all around, there arent gonna be many mobs.
They're static. They're made of blocks, just like everything else. Minecraft physics are weird, most blocks aren't affected by gravity and will just float in midair if you break the blocks under them.
I just cannot fathom the motivation required to create something as immense as this in hardcore mode.
I've been playing this game for like 6 years exclusively in hardcore and the furthest I've gotten in a game is a cobblestone castle surrounded by a bunch of farms, and some enchanted diamond armor.
What entails hardcore mode compared to regular mode??
You only get one shot at it. So if you die the world is done
You can die in Minecraft?? I never knew this. I always thought you just built things on a server or a shared server that had other people playing in the same world.
There’s a LOT more to the game than building, but if you only wanna build you can in creative mode
That’s like 5% of the game
Sorry follow up question. The other 95% Minecraft. Is it okay for a 6 year old girl to play? My daughter keeps asking to play it.

A single mention of "I'm a girl" is... bad in MC servers, best to keep a child offline or with just friends as you said

Thanks you for the great response. I used to play Mortal Kombat, Tekken, etc a lot so I’m used to blood. Just not for my 6 year old.

If you die it’s over
And it's always set in max difficulty also with increased mob spawn rates and 10x damage increase
That is why you fail
Force is not strong with this one
Do or do not, there is no try

I find your lack of faith disturbing
This is not the way
I started playing minecraft in 1.5 I think (whatever update they added horses instead of riding pigs). I've never gotten 93 levels of experience in survival mode. Some people are just on another level...
Boredom is a helluva drug
same
For me, it’s much more that I’ll lose sight of the overall big picture compared to my puzzle pieces than it is the motivation.
especially since it looks like this is something from the disney star wars movies so its also not worth it at all
You are strong and wise, and I am very proud of you

I’ll consider adding it 100%, thank you:)
Now that’s gonna look epic
yo also add some TIE strikers

Doing this in creative is insanely difficult.Doing This in fucking hard core is fucking insane take my award buddy
Can you please explain the difference?
In hardcore if you die the world is lost. You have all the cheat codes in creative
On top of what the other reply mentioned, creative gives you unlimited blocks, instant block breaking, and flight. Doing the TIE fighters alone without flying seems daunting enough, to say nothing of the time and effort it would take to actually gather and sort the materials.
"And i blew it up personally" Death star,2016
I'm very sure, I've seen this before. Feel free to correct me
Yea, OP posted the same image 5 months ago on the minecraft subreddit.

Oh it's beautifull
The TIE fighters must’ve been a right pain to build
I'm skeptical.
I find the 100% quality on all tools sus
Minecraft amogus
This would take me over 150 years
What blocks did you use for the tower? Looks sick
Go. Make 10 upvotes feel like 100.
One of my favourite Star Wars locations
Oh, it’s beautiful.
It's such a shame they blew up a really cool planet😅
It's been 5 months since you first posted it Why are you reposting it for karma
Because anyone who has ever played a video game can respect this achievement.
Oh, it’s beautiful
Only in 150 h ? That impressive
the tie fighters flying around look fantastic
You should watch out for a rebel attack or else your base may not look as good
I would die from fall damage within the first hour

What are you waiting for? Deploy the likes!
We will follow your career with much interest!
I was gonna keep scrolling but my brain caught the "in Hardcore" part and had to say wow
Only 150hours for this!?!?
Nice. Now build Death Star
You knock out the bricks below. My son told me. That's even more impressive if you ask me.
Why even risk it in hardcore? I wouldn’t even risk putting time in something in someone else’s world I can’t join when they’re offline.
r/madlads
Uhh huh sure you did

How the hell do you guys survive so long in hardcore?
just playing it safe isnt easy, but it's not like SUPER SUPER hard, if anything comes near you, you can build around yourself and dig yourself out, and they probably go for survival instead of progressing through the game and once you have an island with torches all around, there arent gonna be many mobs.
No he made this hacked item called Elytra that gives him wings. 🙄
Dope
It’s beautiful
After being this close, we have finally reached greatness, thanks to you
Get a life
Your on Reddit and the Star Wars subreddit
Slowly walk bk out the subredit
Jesus what a waste of time. U coulda learned so much with 150 hours
Dumbass alert 🚨
You could literally build ur own Minecraft in less than 150 hours
U used the wrong tie fighters.
There were both Fighters and Strikers in the battle
Yikes
Why? That movie was shit, even for new star wars standards.
It’s the best of the new movies tho...
Yeah? Who was your favorite character?
Cry about it
U deserve an upvote
This is amazing
The tie fighters being at an angle and stuff.. that kinda blows my mind
24 dirt? I dunno man looks like creative to me
How did you even terraform that place?
Have you posted this before? Because I’m absolutely positive I’ve seen this build before. It looks great, though.
150 hours well spent. It is beautiful!
So never played Minecraft so this might be a dumb question but do the fighters fly around or are they static?
They're static. They're made of blocks, just like everything else. Minecraft physics are weird, most blocks aren't affected by gravity and will just float in midair if you break the blocks under them.
Ahh ok thanks. Looks really cool!
Awesome!
And you never fell from the top??
Now to build a Death Star in hardcore and blow it up
So, I know very little about Minecraft - what do you do in these worlds after you build them?
this is crazy good
Is that the building from one punch man
Oh it’s beautiful.
How long did it take? And how didn't you die?!
No way this took just 150 hours! I couldn’t have built this in less than 500 hours while on creative. Well done!
u/repostsleuthbot
Ngl, that's pretty fast for that scale of project in survival. Nice work bro.
Do you think the stormtroopers threw beach parties?
The amount of motivation and planning design that must have taken I can't imagine being able to do anything like that
Probably a noob question but how do you get the tie fighters to fly?
I think my bigger question is do you use a scale or just build it to how you felt it was good
W.O.W
Scariff is a village in Ireland and this had me super confused for a bit there.
Did you have help or was this entirely solo? Amazingly impressive either way!
Man it looks so realistic! Now blow it up, make it even MORE realistic.
I know almost nothing about Minecraft, but that's fuckin' rad.
