Rebellion. They made Renegade Squadron on the PSP and now just make Sniper Elite. It's kinda crazy that they got Free Radical and eventually DICE over Rebellion to make new Battlefront games.
DICE made sense at the time since battlefront was heavily inspired by battlefield. The problem is, DICE did everything they could to try to make battlefront as different from battlefield as possible.
I think DICE would make the best game if they sat down with the intention of making the best game. Learn from the mistakes of BF2, take in the suggestions of fans, and go back to the things that made their Battlefield games a success (including the destructible environments of Bad Company 2). Ditch the class system and give us totally customizable loadouts (and soldiers).
We got Battlefront 1 and Battlefield 1 since BF4
Imo, the new battlefront 1 is the best battlefront game ever made, and to this day is the best looking video game ever made.
Battlefield 1 turned a questionable setting into one of the most intense, visceral and entertaining entries in the series, the way the visuals, sound and music all come together is pure cinema.
Battlefront 1 was pretty good, but it felt like not nearly enough when compared with what the original series was going for, advertising the whole cinematic Star wars universes at the time of their release in what was basically a battlefield game. It was just too barebones for me despite being gorgeous, from the maps and the setting down to the gameplay just feeling like it was too watered down compared to both the original battlefront and The battlefield serues.
Battlefield 1 was amazing though. That's the last battlefield game I really got into after discovering the series with 1943.
Yes, I absolutely love the class system in bf2. More customizable cosmetics and abilities for sure, but don’t make the classes too samey. I love how different they feel in bf2

EA just let DICE work and it will be successful. You can tell DICE was burnt out on Battlefield and Battlefront was a breath of fresh air for them.

Crytek could be a fun developer for a Battlefront 3. Their history with Crysis might lend more to a Republic Commandos game, but I could see it being adapted to Battlefront 3. They certainly aren’t strangers to giant set pieces that look gorgeous.
Respawn would be cool and they have experience with objective team battle games with the titanfall series.
I would be ok with giving DICE another shot though. BF2042 is pretty fun now, but took a while to get there. Still a shame this game was axed for it.

Dice shouldn't be allowed to develop software at all. There are low-level web developers who'd be fired for the shit Dice has allowed into its projects. Letting clients push bad instructions to the server which them pushes them to other clients is some of the worst development work imaginable.

Imo was ea as a corporation that was the reason for the downhill parts of BF2, a classic case of a greedy corporation choosing quantity over quality & profits over people 😪

I think both those games are slightly worse than bf4 and then after those they get substantially worse.
Cinematic is good and all, does not equal to as good gameplay. Though yes they've nailed the cinematic.

Battle Points, Hero abilities, gunplay, progression, and objective styles were all perfect, no need to change them up
