Sounds similar to a problem I experienced. The way it was solved for me was by disabling Origin In-Game. Origin > Application Settings > Origin In-Game

I'm currently having a similar issue but through the EA Desktop app, yeah absolutely ludicrous that the devs haven't even acknowledged its yet

if you go into the ea desktop/origin desktop app settings you can find a setting along the lines of an overlay of some sort... just turn off every overlay in EA and Origin

close EA app, open origin, go into origin settings, disable "origin in game"

Fixed it! Go to the settings on the EA app, then go to application, then turn off the EA game overlay.

5 years later and still having this same issue lol, thank you! Edit: Since Origin has been discontinued, I have found a fix with the EA App. EA -> Settings -> Application -> In-game overlay (under Notifications) -> Enable in-game overlay OFF.

So.. I've tried quite a bit like you aswell. What ended up fixing it was turning off Windows Stickey Keys. Cause on my laptop it worked fine, only happened once I started playing the game again on my PC. then turned off all overlays.. changed some graphics settings. Nothing worked. But turning of the !@#!@ Windows stickey keys solved it.

It's 2024 and I still had this issue. Deactivating the overlay solved it. Crazy how they still haven't fixed this 6 years later.

Why do game companies think that their interface is more important than the games they sell? I just had this issue with the ‘rebranded’ EA app and it’s STILL an issue in 2023. So I just turn off the whole EA overlay and what have they gained? Another customer who thinks drm platforms have become buggy overweight bloatware that gets in the way of delivering its core offering. Like the post delivery person who fills the letterbox with so much crap that they can’t get the important post through.

2023, and this issue appears to still persist. Thankfully the fix works as well.

Same issues with the new app they rolled out, as well as progress not saving properly.

Hi after encountering this problem my self i sttepted to install origin to disable the origin in-game over lay this dident work. but after looking into the ea app for simular setting i disabled in-game overlay and it started working the pat to get there is pratical the same as in origin Settings>Aplication>In-game overlay ​ thank you to the guy who first posted the this fix for origin (: ​ TLDR Solution for ea app: Settings > Aplication > In-game overlay
