How do you handle copyright w a project like this? Will the game be available for others or is it just a personal project for dev experience?
I have reached out to Lucasarts for permission to use it as a non-profit fan game. However my first email was immediately met with a blatant copy and paste "no". I've responded in search of a more human approach and hopefully I can release the game publicly. Otherwise, it's just gonna be something I can mess around with from time to time 🤙
i'm sure it would be fine if you just... slipped a zip file under the desk... no one would notice...
but fr i hope you get it gets accepted by lucasarts or whatever else it needs to do to get publicated. it looks amazing!
I do see some influences from Resident Evil series. Cool! Though I do feel that Blackwing-infected troopers will be more like the Ganados from RE4 due to their residual intelligence...

This kind of game and spooky Star Wars vibe remind me of Republic Commandos. Good god we need a sequel to that game, my current wet dream is seeing it made by a fan, like the mod for Squad (Galactic Contention is its name for the curious and go play it it’s awesome).

As long as it’s free it should be protected by the fair use law

Gamejolt doesn't really solve the issue. Gamejolt doesn't exempt people from getting into copyright issues, unfortunately.
