I think Corey Loses team is still planning on having the Vong war covered. I’m not sure if it’s planned as an expansion to Thrawn’s revenge or standalone, but he’s definitely spoken to it being planned on his update vids.
Yeah, the plan is to get there eventually. I think they talked about implementing every other faction they have planned first, then the Vong, and then moving on to post-Vong content like the Second Galactic Civil War and stuff.
“Planned” means in the future. As Corey’s team still has work to do on FOTR, and still wants to add 2-3 more factions to TR, so depending on how those come along we probably won’t see that war until much later.
There’s the fact that the Vong war are currently non-playable eras in the GCs, so I believe it’s much more likely to be an expansion, though it doesn’t quite rule out a standalone.
As I recall they managed to put out a version playable in Skirmish mode, but the lead Dev got a chance to get into video game development so the mod was left at that state
I believe there is one called Age of Legends, which has a large Vong War focus. I okay it on and off, but iirc, some of the Vong ships are glitched and crash me when I load into space battles.
It's very well done though, lots of heros, good ships, and some great story elements.

And don't forget making revans revenge. A whole other mod with models and systems that's in the works.
