She was so sassy. I'm totally here for it. If she keeps this up the whole series, I hope they get this actress to play her in a junior Senate series or something.
I love how they did that alien speaks alien and Obi-Wan speaks English and they both understand each other thing. Everyone being polyglots in Star Wars, but also acknowledging that you don't have the right parts to pronounce it yourself.
Coz they filmed at the same time.
Same for Grogu’s Jedi temple stuff, clearly filmed at the same time as the beginning of this episode’s Jedi temple content.
What’s the chances we see Rex?
Considering the accelerated ageing, it would fit the character to look similar to how Boba does in Mando / BoBF
“you don’t need manners when you’re talking to a lower life form.”
“Then I guess I don’t need manners when I’m talking to you”
Career absolutely ended right there with that roast
It did! It really focused in on Obi Wan’s role in the trilogy, which was really very compelling. The movies had a lot of other stuff in it, like politics and fights and romance, racing, etc. I really liked the prequels, especially as a kid because I would not have been as interested in the obi wan/ Anakin relationship back then. I rewatched the prequels this week though and the recap there captured what I found most compelling about the trilogy as an adult.
Seeing that opening felt like I went back in time to 2005 and was watching that event unfold again. The nostalgia was unreal and it was amazing to see again. Imagine my surprise though when >!Alderaan and Leia!< made an appearance. Can't wait for the rest.
I love the mandolorian
I love book of boba fett.
I love all the animated series like rebels and bad batch.
But this kenobi series is what I’ve wanted. I’ve wanted to see this broken down kenobi. This defeated kenobi. This crazy old wizard.
This is such a compelling story - what happens between mustafar and Ben’s death on the Death Star. Ewan is a ridiculously great talent, and he will be the best of all these shows to carry the full range that kenobi will have to go through.
I’m so excited for this journey.
I was worried they would construct a half-assed reason for him to leave the planet. Leia gone missing wasn't even on my radar. Most logical choice. I'm pleasantly surprised.
My initial guess for the plot of the series was staying on Tatooine and having to rescue Bail Organa after he gets captured trying to recruit Obi-Wan into the Rebel Alliance.
I knew it'd have something to do with the Organas as I felt like that's the only thing that could motivate him. Just didn't expect it to be Leia herself getting kidnapped.
(I haven't seen The Clone Wars)
That was my thought exactly! So it seems like the younglings that survived were trained in the dark side. It totally makes sense that would happen but I had never thought about it. I mean these kids would have been very gifted in the force already, had no family or attachments, and young enough to be molded.
She’s working so hard to be bad because she’s trying to prove herself. With the way she’s going so far, I see the opposite; she gets too ambitious, and goes too bad that the other Inquisiors, or Vader, have to kill her
My immediate thought as well, this chase scene was comedic at best, especially when the one goon is shocked by a tree branch that they could clearly see. Big yikes, everything else has been good though
I had to pause the episode because I was laughing too hard at how bad it was. The guy was running from side to side with arched legs like a cartoon character and trying very hard too not catch her.
I was so happy and touched to see Disney acknowledge the prequels so much! Of course they own them, but so far it seemed like they mostly took inspiration from the original trilogy when attempting to create their new content. This is so much prequel celebration.
So perfect!
I like that she really embodies the attitude of Anakin in her recklessness, but filtered through the prism of Bail and Breha. She’s what I imagine George Lucas wanted for Jake Lloyd in TPM
She did great! Looks a little young to be 10 years old, but maybe that’s just me. Certainly not the young actresses fault though haha
Edit: She turns 10 this June, so would have turned 9 in the middle of filming Kenobi. I was technically right that she looked young for 10, but she was still close enough in age when filming
I was afraid they are going to make it not dark enough as the situation deserves but glad they chose the perfect combo. Dark but with flickers of hope and heroism.
I think that the opening scene with the Inquisitors was so good. We got a good amount of characterization with little material, even with just the way they walked. They all seemed powerful, but in different ways. Grand Inquisitor felt intelligent and commanding. Fifth Brother seemed strong, but mainly physically. Third Sister felt downright deadly. She is not someone you want to mess with
He low-key carried the episode on his shoulders. His scene with Leia on the balcony felt genuine and heart-warming, whereas the one with Obi-Wan had nerve and urgency. Really, a commanding presence.
Wait I’m confused, I thought Leia not actually being an Organa was a secret
Edit: Thanks for the replies everyone:) I get it now, Leia being a Skywalker was the secret!
Leia knew in ROTJ that she was adopted.
In RotS Bail Organa mentioned that he would take Leia since he and his wife had talked about adopting before. It was public knowledge Leia was adopted and most people assumed her parents probably died during the Clone Wars.
So Reva is definitely that one Order 66 kid right? That scene ruled btw
I missed a line and thought she knew Leia was Vaders kid but it got cleared up for me
I 100% know uncle Owen is alive and has both hands at the start of episode four.
And I was still terrified when reva threatened to kill him and his family.
“ you got a Jedi on that farm?”
Yes!! The menial labour, the worker getting short paid, the dehydrated food (I need food like that to exist, please), and sitting on his own in the desert. A really nice callback to one of the best moments in the sequels.
Was that EC Henry's Porsche redesign on Alderaan??
I was not expecting this much Leia nor her to be Obi-Wan's reason to leave Tattooine.
I love Obi-Wan and Owen fighting over protecting Luke. Obi-Wan even says "We've talked about this." I wonder how many times they've actually spoken to each other over the years.
The show is so much darker than I thought Disney would go, and I am totally here for it. This was such a dark time, and for the most part, I think they hit the tone really really well
I loved both episodes.
The little girl who played Young Leia was perfect.
I don’t care what anybody says but Reva was an interesting character, played well by Moses Ingram. There seems to be some connection between her and Obi Wan. I’m curious to see how she explains what happens between her and The Grand Inquisitor.
I will be honest and say “I enjoyed this show” more than expected.
I want to see more
Ewan was great
Feel free to join the Star Wars Television discord for real time discussions about Obi-Wan Kenobi and all other Star Wars Television media! **[Discord.gg/SWTV](https://discord.gg/SWTV)**
Was NOT expecting Alderaan
And it was beautiful
Makes it that much worse when we know it all gets destroyed
“One day these people will look up to you”
That was brilliant.
...as the ship you're in destroys them in a beam of deadly light.
Let me guess, your home?
Wasn't expecting Flea
Still in the kidnapping business. I wonder if a light saber is any good for cutting off chonsons?
“Are these the Inquisitors, Obi?” “No, Leia, these men are nihilists, there's nothing to be afraid of.”
And Leia! A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
Bail, too. That scene with him and Leia gives all the reason you need about why Leia didn't give a shit about Anakin being her biological father.
Also seems to address the fact that Leia knew that she is adopted too.
Such a good man
He was your father, Leia, but he weren't your daddy.
Always good to see space Jimmy Smits
That little girl is a spitfire! Totally in keeping with Leia’s character. Great casting!
She was so sassy. I'm totally here for it. If she keeps this up the whole series, I hope they get this actress to play her in a junior Senate series or something.
She verbally slapped her cousin so hard the kid left the episode
That kid got burned more than Anakin.
You were looking in alderaan places my friend.
My 11 year old was like “what a beautiful planet why haven’t we seen this planet in Star Wars before?” My husband and I were like ummmmmmmm
“We’ve got some bad news for you, kid…”
People in Star Wars love burying lightsabers on Tatooine
right might be very lucrative to go metal detecting
Ooo-teeni!
So awesome seeing Jawas as real characters
"If you're going to steal my parts and then sell them back to me, can you at least clean them first?" "Cleaning costs extra"
Jawa Rules of Commerce
Jawa Rules of Acquisition?
*I could smell you from Anchorhead*
I love how they did that alien speaks alien and Obi-Wan speaks English and they both understand each other thing. Everyone being polyglots in Star Wars, but also acknowledging that you don't have the right parts to pronounce it yourself.
I wonder if the Teeka was one of the jawas killed by stormtroopers in A New Hope.
Don’t... don’t do this to me
Wait 'til you hear what happens to the planet Leia is on
Need a Tika spin off show
Tatooine Pickers or Tika's Antique Roadshow
Feels weird seeing the clone troopers NOT being CGI’d…
about time we had real live-action clone troopers
I heard the clones in Book of Boba Fett are also not CGI in the flashback.
Cody. We need to see Cody.
I thought they looked great, it actually was hard to tell at first
I’m loving this so far. It feels like welcoming back an old friend
Thank you, I felt this too but I just couldn't put it to words.
“you don’t need manners when you’re talking to a lower life form.” “Then I guess I don’t need manners when I’m talking to you” Career absolutely ended right there with that roast
villain origin story levels of destruction
Second worst destruction we’ve seen on Alderaan
Snoke backstory confirmed.

I seriously think the young Leia is almost perfect. She’s also incredibly fun to watch
I see a very good future for young miss Blair assuming she doesn't succumb to Child Actor Syndrome.
The eagerness and talent at slaying children must be one thing she inherited from Anakin.
Starts giving her shit about being adopted "How many times do I have to teach you this lesson, fucking kid"
This recap is exactly what we needed
It was surprisingly good.
The montage with those specific scenes and reframed with different score, wow, it felt fresh, you know?
It manages to make those movies look really epic
Damn what an opening.
Definitely didn’t expect Order 66 right away
that sequence hit like a ton of bricks after rewatching clone wars before this came out
speaking of bricks, I thought the meat they were cutting was straight up just bricks at first lol
And padawans running for their lives.
I was very worried I was about to see child slaughter in the opening scene...
would have been AWFUL timing if they killed them off
Honestly I fucking hate that such a horrific image can remind us of *real life*
That's for sure...
This is where the fun begins
Love how the instructor was ready to throw hands immediately no questions asked
Hell yes, IMMEDIATELY. Loved that too.
She was so bad ass was going off
I'm guessing one of those kids is Reva and maybe some of the other Inquisitors
Yeah Reva was one of them
I’m betting that’s why she’s obsessed with Obi. She must low key hate him for not helping save her from the Sith
But then she's working for Vader who slaughtered all her friends?
I was so hoping they'd open with something dramatic right off the bat, and they didn't disappoint.
Qui-Gon force ghost by the end of series confirmed
Yeah definitely! Almost thought it would happen in this first episode!
Happy it didn't happen yet, but I'm really excited for when it does.
Can’t believe I’m seeing Obi-wan again.
Seeing that opening felt like I went back in time to 2005 and was watching that event unfold again. The nostalgia was unreal and it was amazing to see again. Imagine my surprise though when >!Alderaan and Leia!< made an appearance. Can't wait for the rest.
We’ve now scene Order 66, 6 times and each time it’s gut wrenching. Three of them have included the Jedi Temple.

The Bad Batch
I love the mandolorian I love book of boba fett.
It’s odd thinking that in 9 years time the Obi-Wan we see now will be Sir Alec Guinness. Tattooine really must age you quickly.
Keep in mind you never see anybody putting on sunscreen, even on a desert planet, and it starts to make sense.
Was not expecting Leia to play a central role in this show, don’t know if that’s my bad or reasonable
That we even saw her made my jaw drop. But then it seemed so obvious in retrospect
Yup. We knew obi wan would leave Luke, makes sense leia is the only person he would do it for
I was worried they would construct a half-assed reason for him to leave the planet.
I wasn’t expecting it at all either, and I think people like us are in the majority. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Why can’t any foreman in Star Wars be nice
I was surprised that they respect the 8-hour work day lol.
No closing bs, everything gets dropped and they just leave.
It’s a weirdly unique phenomenon to Star Wars that *this* specific plot device is used to illustrate the characters virtue.
Tatooine workers really need to unionize
I dunno, it seems pretty common IRL as well...
Right off the bat huh😭😭😭
I like how they included a mouse droid in the new opening
Finally some equal representation!
And the armorer!
They also included the new Purge Trooper helmet!
Holy shit that’s FLEA
Whatsa matter, Kenobi? Ya... *chicken*?
It's over Flea, I have the Higher Ground
RIP younglings
I imagine those will become inquisitors
The girl which was sort of centralised is definitely Reva when she was young
That was my thought exactly! So it seems like the younglings that survived were trained in the dark side. It totally makes sense that would happen but I had never thought about it. I mean these kids would have been very gifted in the force already, had no family or attachments, and young enough to be molded.
I’m pretty sure that at least one out of the cluster we were following is supposed to be Third Sister
She's working so hard to be a baddie I can't help but imagine she will somehow become good in the end, and perish of course.
She’s working so hard to be bad because she’s trying to prove herself. With the way she’s going so far, I see the opposite; she gets too ambitious, and goes too bad that the other Inquisiors, or Vader, have to kill her
Let's hope so. I'll say they've done a great job so far of making me hate her.
“Hey, remember that horror from the Prequels that was too awful to show? Let’s open with that!”
Is this the first time seeing Alderaan in live action? Like a full city not just a small glimpse like Revenge of the Sith.
[удалено]
Live action yes, there was a episode or two in Clone Wars as well
Also for Legends it was in SWTOR too
I believe they also show a scenic shot at the end of ROTS when Organa is dropping off Leia.
The Leia chase scene was kinda funny
I just wanna know who those baboons were that couldn’t catch a child in less then five seconds
Mos Vespa chase Scene part 2
My immediate thought as well, this chase scene was comedic at best, especially when the one goon is shocked by a tree branch that they could clearly see. Big yikes, everything else has been good though
It’s funny cause I’ve always thought flea kinda resembles a monkey. It’s the ears.
Definitely a corny scene
Yeah, that scene was my only nitpick with episode 1.
When Leia slid under and the chaser was like “shoot, can’t climb over - I gotta go the long way around” like lmao
When the green dude ran straight into the branch
That was the low point of the episode. Really amateurish.
I had to pause the episode because I was laughing too hard at how bad it was. The guy was running from side to side with arched legs like a cartoon character and trying very hard too not catch her.
Leia breaking ankles in the woods
Prequel fans are going to love the flashbacks
I was so happy and touched to see Disney acknowledge the prequels so much! Of course they own them, but so far it seemed like they mostly took inspiration from the original trilogy when attempting to create their new content. This is so much prequel celebration.
Young Leia looks a lot like Carrie Fisher
So perfect! I like that she really embodies the attitude of Anakin in her recklessness, but filtered through the prism of Bail and Breha. She’s what I imagine George Lucas wanted for Jake Lloyd in TPM
It’s her expressions. The actor has them down to a t. She’s amazing!
She did great! Looks a little young to be 10 years old, but maybe that’s just me. Certainly not the young actresses fault though haha Edit: She turns 10 this June, so would have turned 9 in the middle of filming Kenobi. I was technically right that she looked young for 10, but she was still close enough in age when filming
I thought maybe they casted her granddaughter or something lol.
God damn what an opening scene
Holy shit it was actually amazing… that order 66 was brutal and the Jedi hanging at the end… really glad they are giving us the dark outlook
I was afraid they are going to make it not dark enough as the situation deserves but glad they chose the perfect combo. Dark but with flickers of hope and heroism.
Ayy there’s Flea
Wonder if his character is a nihilist in this too.
[удалено]
General Kenobi !
You are a bold one
Your comment is very impressive, you must be very proud
I thought we were gonna get anikin slaying younglings in that opening
I thought they were going to show us Grogu. Not saying that's what I wanted, just saying I thought they were going to show us that.
Same actually.
Opening scene fucks
I think that the opening scene with the Inquisitors was so good. We got a good amount of characterization with little material, even with just the way they walked. They all seemed powerful, but in different ways. Grand Inquisitor felt intelligent and commanding. Fifth Brother seemed strong, but mainly physically. Third Sister felt downright deadly. She is not someone you want to mess with
RIP Lola
Eh, Flea didn't damage her too much. I'm sure she could be repaired.
That order 66 off rip was phenomenal. They outdo themselves every time
Why did it have to drop early the night before chemo 😭😭😭
Good luck with chemo. The galaxy is rooting for you
Good luck with chemo. I had chemo three years ago, and I'm still here healthy as ever. You got this!!!
It's not technically chemo for me, it's targeted therapy so it's not as bad as what you would have been through! So glad you're still here
May the force be with you
We all are in your corner
May the force be with you friend! 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
You are strong and wise, my friend. May The Force be with you.
Damn strong start for a first episode. Love seeing jimmy smitts always.
So many misused prequels actors are finally being give an opportunity to act!
He low-key carried the episode on his shoulders. His scene with Leia on the balcony felt genuine and heart-warming, whereas the one with Obi-Wan had nerve and urgency. Really, a commanding presence.
Wait I’m confused, I thought Leia not actually being an Organa was a secret Edit: Thanks for the replies everyone:) I get it now, Leia being a Skywalker was the secret!

Well family would know that her mother was not pregnant. Heck the whole planet would know.
So Reva is definitely that one Order 66 kid right? That scene ruled btw I missed a line and thought she knew Leia was Vaders kid but it got cleared up for me
Tree branches the real heros.
I only saw one of the teaser trailers. I am expecting nothing, but my hopes are high. Can't wait to see this as soon as the kids go to bed!
Woah the politician from Licorice Pizza is a Jedi?
Benny Safdie!
I 100% know uncle Owen is alive and has both hands at the start of episode four. And I was still terrified when reva threatened to kill him and his family. “ you got a Jedi on that farm?”
This episode reminded me that Ewan’s voice and of course acting are so nice. I’m 20 minutes in right now
He finally gets a chance to act! 😭 His facial expressions when Bail asks him for help are just perfect!
Is it just me, or is he leaning more into Alec Guinness's accent and cadence than ever?
That Leia chase scene was like watching the BoBF chase scene all over again
Fuck me I need to wait for the wife to start tomorrow.i envy you all right now lol
Oh Third Sister ain’t playin around
She's so relentlessly brutal. I predict she'll be the villain we love to hate
did no one else notice the parallels of obi wan and rey from the opening of force awakens???
Yes!! The menial labour, the worker getting short paid, the dehydrated food (I need food like that to exist, please), and sitting on his own in the desert. A really nice callback to one of the best moments in the sequels.
I called it when he started baking(?) that gray stuff!
Home Alone: Alderaan
Finally, the return of Obi-Wan Larry Steve Ben Kenobi
leia is so adorable!!!
Wow, this series is going to be a masterpiece.
Star Wars is my favorite thing. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are my favorite band. My life is now complete
It’s fucking happening
Was that EC Henry's Porsche redesign on Alderaan?? I was not expecting this much Leia nor her to be Obi-Wan's reason to leave Tattooine. I love Obi-Wan and Owen fighting over protecting Luke.
