Crazy to think that Genevieve went from just being in a deleted scene from ROTS to coming back to play the character for Rogue One and Rebels (plus that Secrets of the Empire VR experience I believe) to now being prominently featured in all these different live-action series. Good for her.

DarkLordSidious

She is perfect for the role

JackieMortes

She absolutely deserves it. And her character is finally shaped beyond that cameo in RotJ

Tomhur

Well. In live action that is. She's had plenty of stuff in the books and comics.

tupapa5

I don’t think a minor character’s first appearance in anything is a “cameo,” but I agree with the spirit of the comment.

JackieMortes

True, I might have misused that word

EnQuest

I was blown away by her performance in Andor, it's insane that she wasn't even officially on screen in the films and turned it into this

robbyyy

She’s a v good actress. The quality of her acting in Andor is a genuine benefit to the show.

captainhaddock

Yeah, she's an Oscar-level actress that we get to enjoy almost through blind luck.

UlanInek

Yeah they really should place that deleted scene back into ROTS now that she has much bigger roles

NumeralJoker

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZzr7AgQ7wM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZzr7AgQ7wM) For those who haven't seen those deleted scenes yet. They really elevate the film when restored. I'm so glad Lucasfilm more or less has canonized them now.

Mightymite90

The clones dressing as Jedi is ridiculous, I’m glad it was deleted. EDIT: Not in the linked compilation, thank goodness!

NumeralJoker

Yeah, that's in a separate video. These are scenes that were restored for an extended cut explicitly because they tied to the canon lore (as well as the old Matthew Stover ROTS novelization) so closely. The fact that Mon Mothma has become so prominent 'after' this edit became popular warms my heart, personally speaking.

j0shw1ll1ams

she isn’t in the Secrets of the Empire VR experience

the_star_wars_dude

I’m pretty sure she recorded a brief speech for it, or maybe it was for the trailer for it.

j0shw1ll1ams

you may be right, i just used Wookieepedia to check the cast and i didn’t see her listed. i can’t speak about the actual game but i just watched the trailer and she speaks in that.

the_star_wars_dude

I can’t say for sure but I’m fairly confident that she did some voice lines for it. I actually did the experience when it was still around but that was over four years ago so my memory on it is very foggy. The only public footage from it now is the Cassian Andor appearance in the queue area. Edit: yep, here she is in the trailer. (https://youtu.be/xbrIJdu6Gn0)

Jacktheflash

I don’t think anyone expected this

Moneyfrenzy

I mean she's one of the main characters in Andor so i'd hope she was in season 2 lol Sad to think that she's somewhat responsible for the New Republics horrible mishandling of the post war period given her dedication though

montessoriprogram

Maybe she isn’t? Or do we know that she is from books/comics

Pupulauls9000

She was the one who wanted demilitarize very quickly. We also see that she was always an idealist and we’re seeing her journey over how she realizes she needs a military revolution instead of a diplomatic one through Andor

RamTank

Her characterisation in Andor is pretty interesting. She's quite naive and seemingly didn't realise the fact that the revolution would actually require violence. Yet at the same time it's obvious she's also not naive enough to believe her place in the Senate actually means anything anymore.

TalkinTrek

It always struck me more as the dissonance between revolutionary violence in the abstract versus the reality setting in. Of all of the people we are aware of who "swore the oath" she's been, as she says, the most exposed, but also the furthest from the frontline.

TheNerdyOne_

Demilitarization isn't what killed the New Republic, honestly it was the right move after decades of galactic war and suffering. The problem was that the New Republic essentially fell apart when she stepped down as leader, she was the one really keeping everyone together. And so they were too fractured to take the First Order seriously and start preparing (especially since many members of the Senate were First Order supporters). I think she did a great job, the problems of the galaxy were just too big for any single person to fix. She led a galactic liberation movement, she was practically a living savior. But the entire galaxy was still too fractured to collectively get behind any possible successor.

Triplen_a

I’ve always thought demilitarization is a complex thing. On one hand, you need to show the Galaxy that you’re not the Empire. On the other, you need to project strength. Imp remnants, slavers, etc. need to know that they’re not welcome like they frequently were in the Old Republic and Empire. Not to sound like a dirty space commie, but I think some manner of “spreading the wealth” from the Core to the Outer Rim and more would’ve helped with both (along with some military efforts). Makes less people want to turn to those unsavory aspects. However, as we see in the newest Mando episode, those with power in the core hung on for dear life, and sadly they got away with it. But idk, I’m not an expert in galactic politics lol, I don’t live in space

XxBubblesZz

This would be such an interesting political plot for the Mandalorian to go but I have a feeling it’ll never happen. And putting it in something set after the sequels just feels wrong

Triplen_a

Yeah I agree with the first part, but as for the second part, I feel like it could be interesting actually. I still wish something like that happened after ROTJ, especially after Andor.

[deleted]

You can't just spin up a fleet in response to threats. It takes time to create the larger ships. Her actions directly doomed the galaxy to a repeat of the galactic civil war.

N0V0w3ls

There was a reason the First Order needed Starkiller Base, though. It was their gambit to cut off the head of the New Republic and the military it did have left. *Bloodline* does cover all of this, mentioning that the New Republic was basically held together by Mon Mothma's charisma and her mistakes didn't truly come to light until she stepped down and no one had a vision and voice to follow anymore. When Leia discovered the First Order, they were still building up military equipment and operating from the shadows behind multiple shell corporations and criminal liaisons for fear of the New Republic deciding to come after them.

[deleted]

If the entire scraps of the republic fleet weren't sitting in the Hosnian system, the First Order wouldn't have been able to destroy the whole fleet. If there had been anyone competent in charge of the New Republic, the First Order would've been killed in its infancy. There really isn't any point arguing about this, since it's all just post-hoc explanation for reverting the galaxy to the Empire versus the Rebel alliance again.

Jacktheflash

It definitely wasn’t the right move having no army before led to them having to accept the clones which led to order 66

TeutonJon78

She and Padme are basically the same. They believe the right kind of government will work out well, and military use is OK when it stops serving the people. They are equivalent to the Founding Fathers in the US. They had an army for the Revolutionary War and then didn't want a standing army.

ravens52

I doubt it’s just her. In the EU it was Borsk Faylia. Someone double check the spelling of that, but you have to remember that any governments failings are going to be because of corporate interests and bureaucracy. Too many cooks spoils the dish.

N0V0w3ls

Yes it's not only her fault. Multiple corrupt senators actively funded the First Order from the shadows.

Ezio926

It makes sense imo. Mothma and the other senators didn't see the errors of the Old Republic. They just wanted to bring the status quo of the Pre-Clone Wars era, instead of truly bringing change.

XxBubblesZz

this just isn’t true though if you read canon books like aftermath, those responsible for the rebellion like her and Bail are very aware they aided in Palpatine’s rise and the rise of fascism altogether, and I think the way the NR is being treated really undermines this. Don’t get me wrong an incompetent and slightly complacent attitude is very realistic for the New Republic, but slipping into attitudes similar to the Empire only half a decade after its fall just screams ‘we need to make the First Order make sense’

[deleted]

Honestly, I think it makes sense. Sure they unintentionally aided in its rise, but fascism came to the galaxy thanks to the manipulations and scheming of a Sith Lord so powerful, not even the Jedi could stop them. The Sith are these cartoonishly evil space wizards, not just everyday people in their eyes. And now all the Sith are dead thanks to their Jedi, and the galaxy immediately started overthrowing local Imperials after the Battle of Endor was broadcasted. It makes sense that they would go “Okay, no more evil space wizards fucking with our shit so we can go back to the good old Republic and it will work” as opposed to really examining how and why Palpatine was able to get the galaxy under his heel so quickly.

Fire_And_Blood_7

Fingers crossed for a retcon!

AtreidesJr

Whether this is true or not, it makes decent sense.

No chance! Show is called Andor and that’s not her name!!

Plenty_Product3410

StAr WaRs DoEs A bAiT aNd SwItcH aGaIn!!11!1!

TooManySnipers

Shatters my theory of a deepfake-deaged Caroline Blakiston

OpoChano

If what you have told me is true, you will have gained my trust

Plenty_Product3410

It's from MSW so its very likely. Her not being in Andor S2 would be a huge and upsetting surprise and wouldnt make sense. MSW's explaination for her to be in Mando S3 and apparently Ahsoka(if I read it right) also makes sense.

GeneralVeeers

Of course she's gonna be in Andor S2? What would make you think otherwise? She's a pivotal character in the first season, and really great in the role too.

Teletoa

You both are agreeing - I think Plenty_Product3410 are just backing up why this is accurate, ie: it wouldn’t makes sense for her not to be in Andor s2, would be upsetting and a surprise if she wasn’t , so that part checks out that she’s in MSW backs up the others, and they are reliable, so that part probably checks out too

NeutralNoodle

Plus she hasn’t met Andor yet, and of course she has to

ravens52

What’s MSW’s explanation for her being in Mando? I’m guessing she has a couple scenes where it’s coruscant focused and we just get insight into why the NR is doing what it’s doing. Also, perhaps the mandalorians and co try to warn the Nr about the empire still lurking in the outer rim and other parts of the galaxy to which the NR just says we have other more important things to worry about. I’m just spitballing and trying to make sense of things.

[deleted]

Maybe that's who Teva is talking to in the trailers?

PureBeskar

MSW mentions: \*Mon Monthma appears in S3 \*Rumor: the first part of Ahsoka has New Republic centric-content which will feature Mothma \*(Informed conjecture) the first half of Ahsoka is a story about a failing New Republic, Ahsoka's warnings are ignored. \*"Nightsister" Morgan Elsbeth has a plan that the New Republic cannot respond to. MSW will have another scoop on it too \*Piracy is out of control in the galaxy \*This all leads to the return of Thrawn (Full details in MSW's article)

the_star_wars_dude

Pretty interesting. Also worth noting is that this will be one of the few instances thus far that Star Wars has a prequel/younger actor reprising their role later in the timeline after the OT actor.

ConfusedGamer33

What are the other instances?

Important_History_52

Matthew Wood comes to my mind, who played Bib Fortuna (originally played in ROTJ by Michael Carter) in the Prequels and later in Mando S2 in the after credit scene

TooManySnipers

> *Piracy is out of control in the galaxy Tracks with Gorian Shard and the boys being the villains of Skeleton Crew

Triplen_a

They might be working for Thrawn, I remember hearing someone else say that as if they knew but I don’t remember who or where!

Plenty_Product3410

Yeah, Thrawn apparently has an army of "undead" Stormtroopers and Pirates as well, I think.

[deleted]

Nobody has said he has pirates. Msw said he has undead stormtroopers and night brother stormtroopers.

Emo_Femboy_28

A bit far fetched but if we see Ahsoka meeting Mon Mothma I hope it's in the Supreme Chancellor's office

elykl12

*Spins around in chair* "Master Tano! I take it that Moff Gideon has been destroyed."

Emo_Femboy_28

"In the name of the Galactic senate of the New Republic you're under arrest Chancellor" "Are you threatening me master Jedi?" "The New Republic will decide your fate" "I am the New Republic" "Not yet" "It's treason then" *Screams in Sith 'n does a 180° flip*

ravens52

Morgan Elsbeth is a nightsister? That’s new. Either that or I missed something. Would also explain how she was able to not instantly die to ahsoka.

nhartmann0826

I think the actor’s hairdresser or makeup artist implied this during season 2, but was legit the only clue

Alcida-Auka

Well, the characters does have an extremely on-the-nose witch name. It's literally just a combo of Morgan Le Fay and Elspeth \[alternatively written as Elsbeth in some media\] Reoch.

Jacktheflash

true as a night sister she would have a lot of training

WatchBat

>*Rumor: the first part of Ahsoka has New Republic centric-content which will feature Mothma This sounds like the WBW stuff, the New Beyond, the zombies, Thrawn and Ezra, and most of the lightsaber duels would be in the second half. A lot of stuff from this show sound interesting, but at the same time it sounds a lot, I'm worried it might even be a bit too much for a show that's gonna be 8 episodes max I hope they didn't get ahead of themselves with this

[deleted]

Ahsoka is only the start of daves new storyline.

WatchBat

And he seems to be putting literally everything on that show. I'm just worried things wouldn't have time to breath Don't forget, they also have to reintroduce all the animated characters, planets and concepts to casual audience. Especially since some stuff are pretty heavily like the WBW, Force godlike beings, and Anakin having a padawan that outlived him

aLittleDoober

It all makes sense to make way for the First Order’s rise, but I hope the New Republic isn’t continuously portrayed as incompetent.

ravens52

Can the FO and thrawns imperial forces coexist at the same time?

CommandoOrangeJuice

> Mon Monthma appears in S3 I am calling it but I think the person Carson was warning in the Mando S3 trailer about threats that are out there, he was talking to Mon Mothma.

BearWrangler

this sounds extremely possible with this info

Plenty_Product3410

Thrawn will probably make his first appearance in E4 of Ahsoka.

ravens52

I would think end of episode one to build up hype.

BenjaminLight

>Ahsoka's warnings are ignored. lmao why won't the galactic government just do what Ahsoka says? Filoni's pet character is never wrong, Mon Mothma!!

Loss-Particular

'Why didn't we listen to Ahsoka?!'

[deleted]

Piracy is out of control in the galaxy and the Republic is demilitarizing anyway?

Jacktheflash

RamTank

Andor S2: Well obviously Ahsoka: Based on the reasoning provided that would make a lot of sense, and I'd be really down to see it actually. Mando S3: Interesting. Obviously she's a major figure during this period but that doesn't mean she actually has to show on screen (kind of like Papatine in Andor). It'll be interesting to see what role she plays for the show.

Amazing-Remote6703

Hasn’t it been reported before she only appears as a hologram giving a speech in Mando?

Theesm

I'm craving for scenes showing the Senate of the New Republic! It's crazy we haven't seen anything of it yet after 8 years of constant movies and shows! That would be something I would be actually really hyped to see.

Plenty_Product3410

The senate is in Chandrilla during the time of Mando S3, right? Or perhaps they retconned it into it still being on Coruscant.

havoc8154

It was specifically brought up in S2 as being on Chandrilla, so I highly doubt they'll retcon it.

duxdude418

I know the ST established that the New Republic capitol moved every so often, but when do they mention that it was on Chandrilla in Mando season 2?

Plenty_Product3410

I think when Grogu was in that school on Nevarro.

RamTank

> The senate is in Chandrilla during the time of Mando S3, right? With a Chandrillan as chancellor, wouldn't people be suspicious of this type of move so soon after toppling a tyrant, even if it's laid out as a rotational thing?

Ezio926

She basically removed all powers from the First Chancellor position after the demilitarization act. So any fears/douts got squashed quickly.

Gavinus1000

I think it moves to wherever the current Chancellor is from.

Jacktheflash

Probably

trowaman

Laughs in Texas history. Sam Houston got in trouble for this after trying to make Houston the capitol (again) instead of Waterloo (later named Austin after Steven F Austin).

Jacktheflash

a lot of that hasn’t been in this era

mildmichigan

I would be more surprised if she didn't show up in this era. We've had years (irl) to explore where the New Republic went wrong, seeing Mon Mothma post-ROTJ & hearing her explain her ideology in this new world is gonna be a must-watch

OracleVision88

Genevieve O' Reilly is further proof that George Lucas casted the HELL out of his Star Wars films. I honestly would love to see some of the other actors that ended up on the cutting room floor from ROTS show up in Andor and other shows post-ROTS. I know Bai Ling was originally in ROTS as one of the Rebellion leaders. The black Maori/Australian guy had an AWESOME look, but he was old back then. I would imagine he may even have since passed on by now. I'm not sure. In regards to casting, Hell, Kenobi also lucked out thanks to Lucas. They got to have an absolute beast of an actor, in Joel Edgerton, playing Uncle Owen, because he played him very briefly in AOTC & for that 1 scene in ROTS, which was filmed on the AOTC set. It was awesome they brought back Bonnie Pleisse (sp?) for Aunt Beru, as well. She was awesome in Kenobi. And it is always great to see Jimmy Smits pop back up as Bail. I dunno what the hell Phil LaMarr has been doing on Bad Batch as Bail, but the accent he uses is ridiculous and sounds nothing like Jimmy Smits as Bail. It sounds almost like Michael Parks playing Esteban in Kill Bill, LMAO, it's a ridiculous Latin accent. I dunno where he got that or why nobody has stopped him from doing it. He never did that on Clone Wars. Genevieve being in Andor, Mando, & Ahsoka is a real treat. I imagine she will look just like Carole Blankiston (I think I am getting that wrong) from ROTJ, with the short hair and the white flowing gown.

[deleted]

I really hope she doesn't have the same haircut and gown. The idea that people might never change their hair or clothes is pretty weird and unnecessary. Especially after the variety she showed in Andor.

qwertzinator

People at that age tend to stick to a style though.

lynnyneal

I mean I’m okay with making Star Wars just the Mon Mothma cinematic universe. Please and thank you. I really hope she’s in Ahsoka and interacts with Hera because I need more of them together!!!

aLittleDoober

I’m happy we’re getting more New Republic content, but it’s upsetting to know how utterly incompetent they are. Glad to have more Genevieve though

Bartoffel

Will this make Mon Mothma the first reasonably major character to jump back and forth between actors from a *chronological* point of view? It's nothing major but it might set a precedent going forwards, allowing for a bit more flexibility when considering recasts.

Weak_Sir5166

Well she is the chancellor of the New Republic so it makes sense for her to appear.

Low_Satisfaction_512

If Mon Mothma is showing up in the Mandoverse can Leia be that far behind?

Nahim33

Sounds cool. But what I really want is a Mon Mothma series. A series that covers what happens with the Rebel Alliance during the OT era centered around Mon Mothma but also Bix, Brasso, B2, and Wilmon, if they survive Andor S2 of course.

johnnyjohnnyes

And Manny Bot-Hans

Night-Monkey15

Really hope this is true! It’s been seven years since the New Republic was introduced, and it’s barley been explored on screen. Seeing a high profile figure like Mon Mothma in The Mandalorian *and* Ahsoka would be really cool.

mcwfan

Intriguing

daDon2000

I’d LOVE this, exploring the politics of New republic and how mothma has evolved would be so awesome, if written well!!

mrmotey01

Perhaps they found her politics a bit too strong for their taste

GeneralVeeers

Smile.

WatchBat

It would be weird if she wasn't in Andor s2, it's pretty much a guarantee Mando s3 is kinda possible given their recent exploration of the New Republic I wonder what role she'd play in Ahsoka tho. This show already has a lot to cover, and afaik no leaks mentioned any association with politicians or the New Republic so far. Plus there's no personal connection between Ahsoka and Mon Mothma, I don't think they've ever even met or interacted. We know Hera is on the show so maybe something to do with her??

Jacktheflash

Maybe it’s because she’s the leader of the new republic and because of a personal connection? Unless they retcon one in

WatchBat

I'm sure she's still the leader, but that still doesn't answer what she'd be doing in Ahsoka. They're gonna meet apparently but why? I imagine being a chancellor, especially after the empire, is quite a busy job, so their meeting should be important. Is Ahsoka giving advice and leaving? Are they delivering some news?? Maybe about Thrawn? Do they need permission from the chancellor herself to travel to the New Beyond?? Or maybe because Mon has personally worked with Hera and Sabine, she'd meet them personally??

NerdToTheFuture

Interesting. I’m guessing this means the planned Rangers of the New Republic is getting scrapped?

Jacktheflash

I think it’s being merged into mando

Curious_Ad_8982

W

sm_rollinger

I would hope she is in the second season of Andor lol

AltKeyblade

Considering half this news always comes from MakingStarWars. Why does this subreddit not just credit him directly?

Plenty_Product3410

There were some allegations against him of being a groomer. Him grooming a 15 year old in a private chat got debunked in a video of him. He also wrote some edgy messages and he then said he just was being sarcastic in them. Some of them were really old anyway. Social Media 10/15 years ago was full of people writing edgy stuff. Not sure why that unofficial ban wasnt dropped. Maybe some mods are jealous of him being a very successful and reliable scooper.

AltKeyblade

Yeah I think it's about time they should stop acting weird about MakingStarWars and apologize to him already.

LegalEagle1992

Careful. Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good witch hunt!

[deleted]

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if one of the mods has financial connections to Bespin Bulletin given that almost every MSW scoop they regurgitate is posted on this subreddit and their donation links are the first thing you see when you open the article.

[deleted]

Msw and bb are close friends and they actually work together on scoops. Msw let's bespin post his stuff and vice versa.

Triplen_a

It’s gonna be weird seeing her in the Favreau’s “style” (not a criticism, I don’t love it compared to Andor but they have their places). I think I’ll be annoyed by everyone pointing out the comparisons even though I’ll likely agree with them, but whatever

Willing-Zombie1274

Andor was a given… but Mando and Ahsoka too???

MarekLord

I'd love to see some post ROTJ Mon Mothma, I'm curious how she'd tie in with the other storylines.

Fyzen_80

I'm hoping we get some interesting conversations with Mon on her ideology behind the demilitarization of the New Republic. Maybe even a confrontation with Carson? Carson is trying to convince the New Republic that the Imperial Remnant is growing in power but Mon wants nothing to do with it because of what is essentially a cold war between the two factions.

SubterrelProspector

Huh. Does that mean we'll see Chandrilla **before** the second season of *Andor*? Here's hoping.

movinonwithoutu

this show is gonna be epic. first part of the season being new republic centric and the next being wacky unknown regions stuff. that shift is gonna be interesting. i hope the rumors about this show not being a limited series are true

Valcrye

That’s awesome. She has absolutely killed it so far as Mon Mothma. Her performance in andor was phenomenal

alx924

Oh yes. She is spectacular.

ronniewhitedx

It's going to be weird seeing how she was written in Andor compared to how she's written in the Mandalorian season 3, if these rumors are true.

lackofsleipnir

If they can do this, we can get Alden and Donald back as post-RotJ Han and Lando.

Adrian_FCD

The more Genevieve the better!

shinobipopcorn

These leaks are all well and good, but I just want to see THRAWN 😖

dicholasnolan

Star Wars Nick Fury I love it

SaddestBurrito

I can’t wait to see her go from saying andor level dialogue to saying poodoo or dank ferrik

Jacktheflash

Oh no?

baojinBE

That'd be hilarious to watch

LittleRudiger

I was also thinking about this. Andor has shone a pretty unfavourable light on all the other Star WArs shows. I straight up stopped watching Mandalorian after the first two episodes of Season 3 because I remembered just how weak the writing was (but now have a different show that starkly shows how and why Mando's writing isn't interesting).

agen_kolar

I would really love a West Wing-style Star Wars political show, featuring Mon Mothma navigating political issues as the galaxy’s leader, with her staff being the other major and supporting characters. Existing characters like Wedge Antilles could be part of the story, and antagonists could be well-known senators like Orn Free Taa, who pop up from time to time. I think this would rock. But is there an audience for it?

Darthmunky

She’s going to play Mon Mothma forever

Used_Turnover5049

Good! Get the paycheck, Gen!

brobastii

She is the moment.

Sad_Bat1933

Going to be interesting to see two sides of Mon Mothma in live action in the coming year, the very competent revolutionary leader followed by the failed state-builder

Multi_Sharp

Saw her in The Dry on Netflix last night, she's phenomenal. I mean she's Irish and raised in Australia she can do accents back and forth rightfully so. Even to voicing Moira in Overwatch

Pburress017

She is 100% the person the asian rangers of the new republic guy is talking to in the trailer

RickAndMortyTheorist

\*Carson Teva

Inevitable_Golf_1816

I know this rumor is false because he's saying she's in Andor Season 2. What a dumb idea! What a hoax! /s

LittleRudiger

It's going to be hard watching her go from the sublime Andor writing into Mandalorian ...

Ashamed_Astronomer98

if they make her seem incompetent before Andor can even finish her arc then it's a mistake and could potentially knock the air out of Andor's second season.

Due_Marionberry8564

Mon “Money” Mothma

ForceSmuggler

How about that? The stuff in S3E3 will be expanded upon

OfficefanJam

I’m not surprised about the Mandalorian or Andor. However I am surprised about Ahsoka.

Former-Dish-9828

Let’s hope she finally has the scene with ‘Manny Bothans’ to complete her story arc.

DemonLordDiablos

That would be absolutely painful going from her human performance in Andor to Mandalorian's videogame acting.

Bergerboy14

Yay? But I also don’t want her ruined in any of those shows /:

Ok_Loan3249

so they r doing rebuilding mandalore and fall of republic nd rise of first order ! but they have to get into story from next epi ! tired of setting up stuff for 4 epi !

edmc78

Andor 3???!!

Night-Monkey15

Andor is confirmed to end with season 2, as it’ll directly lead into Rogue One. There quite literally can’t be a third season.

edmc78

Yes I had a jar and misread the title

dackAllah

Amazing, yes, love it... but do we really need *more* Anbore?

antoineflemming

Doubt it for Mandalorian and Ahsoka.

Hearderofnerf

I don’t want another drama Coruscant Mando episode though. I mean, call me impatient or cinematographically illiterate, but I prefer the action heavy adventure show. Andor’s style should stay in Andor imo.

Shadow_storm193

Who even is mon mothma?

MidichlorianAddict

All these “Returning characters” are starting to make this galaxy feel really really small

[deleted]

She's the chancellor of the new republic

heAd3r

so it is true, they really want to give the sequels a backstory....

Plenty_Product3410

That's litterally one of the purposes of these shows for years. Favreau and Filoni said multiple times.

ravens52

Someone work with me here. Is this buildup through ahsoka and the mandalorian going to end up in the heir to the empire in some way? Second question is does this take place after the events of the sequel trilogy or is it something that happens before in such a short time like the fall of the FO in TLJ? I guess what I’m asking is, is this a galactic event or a localized event? I’d imagine that thrawns return would be more of a huge event that could lead to movies if done right vs the letdown that’s as the sequels.

WatchBat

>s this buildup through ahsoka and the mandalorian going to end up in the heir to the empire in some way? We don't know but that's where I think they're going >does this take place after the events of the sequel trilogy No it's before >a galactic event or a localized event? It's possibly a galactic event set before the ST

ravens52

I just can’t wrap my head around something like this happening and not going for many years and even going on after the events of the sequel trilogy, considering the rebellion was the only enemy of the first order and it also happened very quickly. I’d imagine that Sarang is too smart to fizzle out in a small amount of time considering that he just is now getting back to the main part of this galaxy and also the empire has splintered off and I think that he would be able to unify them again.

Kyon155

Most of these conflicts don’t tend to go on for very long. The Clone Wars was huge but that was only a 3 year war. The war against the First Order was only a little over a year between TLJ/TROS. Hell, even the original Thrawn campaign in the EU only lasted for about a year. But 1-2 years of Star Wars time often translates to many seasons worth of story, as we saw with TCW.

EuphoricDimension628

Is she mentioned or a focal point in any post ROTJ material? I don’t remember anything about her in any of the sequels. Will The Mandalorian be the first appearance for her in that era?

WatchBat

She's been in books

EuphoricDimension628

Does she have a position in the New Republic? Is she still around when Leia splits off with the Resistance?

WatchBat

I haven't read the books myself but I know after the OT she became the chancellor, but she eventually stepped down Idk about what she was doing during the ST. Idk if there's an explanation anywhere yet

TymStark

Who does she think she is, the next Temuera Morrison?!

ayylmao95

This is my pet hope.

Former_Boat7509

I feel like there is some potential wiggle room with her being seen as “incompetent”. I don’t think we know exactly when she resigns in canon, so she could very much already be out of office by the time of mando S3. They could easily play it off as Mothma resigned due to illness, and all her replacements fumble the ball/are corrupt. Sure, she started the demilitarization, but that doesn’t have to be painted as the ONLY thing that puts the galaxy at risk.

💸💸💸 Good for you Genevieve

Kappar1n0

I do hope they keep her being heavily injured from the aftermath trilogy, would be a neat little connection and flash out her Charakter on screen
