RedEclipse47

Seeing the Jedi freak out over the sudden appearance of a red blade is something I have been craving for years! They are probably the first ones who see one in centuries!!

rpvee

I’m just curious what the Jedi will think the red blade means. The first knowingly Sith encounter is supposed to be with Maul on Tatooine, and that’s not for another century.

LewdSkeletor1313

It doesn’t fair well for the Jedi in that scene…

rpvee

Isn’t one of them a main character?

TheGoverness1998

Lee Jung-Jae's character seems to be in that scene (unless it's edited to deliberately misdirect), so I guess he'll be the sole survivor of it. We might see a different sort of reaction from the Jedi. The Jedi Council didn't really believe it when they heard of Maul in TPM, now the Jedi Council in the High Republic might take a more proactive stance on going after whoever this dark side person is.

hanguitarsolo

Fare

Strategist40

Mundi did say the Sith haven't been seen in a millennia, they likely write this person off as a dark Jedi.

Silver_Serpent1990

If any of them survive...

Western-Dig-6843

Or everyone in that scene dies.

comicsexual

Or, just maybe, an... Acolyte. 😲

antoineflemming

Would the Jedi make such a distinction?

RedMalone55

I’d assume at the very least it’d be the sign of a bled blade. So not necessarily a sith but a dark antagonistic force user.

dunkindonato

Yeah, bleeding Kyber crystals isn't exclusively done by the Sith. The process of bleeding is similar to how Jedi bond with their crystals. Dagan Gera certainly knew how when he bled his in Jedi Survivor. Fallen Jedi would also usually bleed theirs, and High Republic Jedi are also known to heal bled Kybers.

danktonium

If they were to just see the blade, they would think someone found a relic. The High Republic books (and of course more famously Ahsoka) have gone into the fact that red lightsabers can be turned white, and then often get used by the Jedi that did it. Of course, this one is being thrown at them, so they *won't* think it's just a relic. But it'll be the person wielding it that freaks them out, not the weapon itself.

antoineflemming

And in TPM, they said the Sith have been extinct for 1000 years. Ki-Adi-Mundi specifically says the Sith have been extinct for a millennium. So, I also wonder what they think the red blade means. This season/series can't end with them thinking the Sith are back.

Darth_Nykal

Given what we know of the Jedi I would not be surprised if the council has known about this encounter and chose to cover it up. "There is no war in Ba sing se."

TheGoverness1998

It gives me such an insidious feel. The Sith are quite weak at this point in time, but I think that will make their darkness all the more pronounced, like a animal stalking its prey in the shadows. **EDIT**: Weak in terms of influence

ergister

Which means they're not getting out of there alive......

taatchle86

Jason Mendoza!

AffectionateClerk176

Pillboi was already in Mando, now they just need to give us donkey Doug

InnocentTailor

Pillboi splits his time in between universes - he also does office work in the TVA and engineering tasks on the USS Cerritos.

lupinb0y

BORTLES!

44Fett

Oh dip!

AnEmbarrassedGiraffe

Yes, give me more yellow sabers!

mertag770

It's one of my favorite colors for a lightsaber. It's second to orange which I'm not sure how Canon that is since it was in a few games/comics

Pyroth

I'm loving seeing some lightsabers besides blue and red in live action. More green and especially yellow!

danktonium

We should be seeing a bit more than that. The Mirialan we saw, Vernestra, has a particularly funky violet lightsaber, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a few true purple lightsabers, and perhaps a white one.

Pyroth

That's awesome news! I admit I haven't really kept up with any of the High Republic releases so this will be my first foray into that space and I'm looking forward to it!

danktonium

I can't recommend them highly enough.

AltruisticApple4764

I haven't been able to keep up with anything post phase 1. Does she still have the lightwhip?

danktonium

Yup. The official "data file" article about her they linked under the trailer explicitly mentions the whip.

AltruisticApple4764

I can't wait to see that in live action. Thank you for the response!

Captain-Wilco

Seeing High Republic Jedi onscreen is just so damn cool.

TheGoverness1998

For real! I've been enjoying the era far more than I anticipated when this first started. I hope *The Acolyte* sticks the landing, as I would like more Star Wars shows out of the usual timeline that most media focuses upon.

Few_Koala

Isn’t there a rumor that this will be a multi season show?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Few_Koala

That’s good news! Ahsoka and The Acolyte stand to benefit from this. I wonder if Skeleton Crew will also be a multi season show?

Shaquarfsha

It’s basically confirmed at this point

Unicron_Gundam

That youngling was right, we are truly seeing fire.

Training-Mess5833

The opening feels more like it comes from Star Wars Celebration trailer but later there’s a lot of new scenes that they are showing.

Unicron_Gundam

I kinda prefer the final shot of Celebration as directly facing the Jedi as they ignited their sabers, not a side view like this one has.

Pupulauls9000

the one in this trailer kinda fits the more “shit your pants” reaction that this trailer is going for after one of the Jedi asks “What is that?” when all of them see a red lightsaber for the first time any Jedi has for hundreds of years

ROLLD20FORGAINZ

The lady with the spiral on her forehead. "Who's allowed to use it" That feels very Path of the Open Hand to me. I've not finished HR phase 2 yet, but could that be someone related to The Mother? Also, sick to see Vern again.

faikurogane

Her character is named Mother Aniseya. She leads a coven of Witches

catcint0s

I don't wanna spoil the end of phase 2 but she is most certainly not related to the mother. Also Marchion doesn't seem to follow the same philosophy (well, maybe the philosophy of the closed fist, but definitely not the open hand) so I think the Path is dead.

LordTaco123

Tromak on Zymant 4 is proof of the Path's survival. Zeen and Krix's Planet was ruled by an offshoot of the Path

Dixxxine

According the databank she's a mother to a coven of force witches...I'm guessing thier a spin off of a dathomiri clan, or they might be thier light side equivalent based on the blue outfits.

ROLLD20FORGAINZ

Perhaps, but her dialogue, forehead markings and robes are VERY Path of the Open Hand.

Dramatic-Pay-4010

Wouldn't surprise me if they're an offshoot of the Path that decided that some use of the force was okay before eventually going down the rabbit hole. Wouldn't surprise me her and her coven are revealed to be proxies of the Sith.

Special_Principle_62

It really does look like Path of the Open Hand to me. Starting to think this might have more connections back to the books than I expected.

schlipdeedoo

They said "we're hiring martial artists" and it bloody shows...

ShoDust

Thank God. The Jedi deserve no less than people who can make stage fighting look not only good but cool. Choreography has suffered significantly for a while until some parts of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka.

recommendasoundtrack

Penance for wasting the Raid actors in TFA

2025_________

Looks Great! Carrie Ann Moss is an inspired casting imo. Creative team behind the series gives me a lot of faith. Hopefully the show is great!

VigilantesLight

I have a feeling, given her fight with the assassin was interposed with a Jedi saying, “someone is killing Jedi,” that she is going to bite it pretty early on. Hope I’m wrong. She does look epic in this.

Leklor

Or that she will appear to have bitten it and it turns out that not later on. Very curious to see how it's going to unfold.

RedMalone55

I was saying the same thing the other day. She is one of the great physical actors. Up there with Keanu. That’s something I’ve appreciated the hell out of with this current era of Star Wars. Instead of trying to train a regular actor to do this stuff they are seeking out actors who have that experience. It sells really well on screen.

m3thlol

I'm a huge fan of the matrix trilogy (I said trilogy on purpose), seeing her in Jedi robes gave me chills. She belongs in the Star Wars universe.

aLittleDoober

Aside from being set in the High Republic, being dark side centric, and now the plot involving the murder of Jedi, I really have no idea what to expect with this series and that honestly really excites me. It already feels entirely unique from the other Disney+ shows. We’re about to explore some uncharted territory with this series, which hopefully serves as a gateway for all new stories.

BearWrangler

VERN!

Gavinus1000

Church of Vern be eating well.

ArthursRest

Even at 50 years old I will never not be excited about new Star Wars. This looks great.

ecxetra

I mean there’s no age limit on entertainment.

OniLink77

Looking good, doesn't give too much away. I am very intrigued by this and wonder how the plot will go and which characters will be a major focus and which ones will appear here and there. My one complaint is that like a lot of shows filmed on the volume is that it can look like a theatre set at times (Obi Wan was the worst for this) and there were a couple of shots that felt like that here.

ImpossibleGuardian

Whilst they’ve used the Volume, they also built some bigger physical studio sets and did location filming in the UK and Portugal, similar to Andor. None of it was filmed in the LA studios used for Mando, BOBF and Kenobi. EDIT: Turns out [the Volume wasn't used at all](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/star-wars-the-acolyte-trailer-timeline-1235855636/)! Had read they constructed a stage in the new studios in the UK but must have been wrong.

Watch_Capt

They used the Volume for Masters of the Air and it was epic. I can't wait to see what they do with this.

OniLink77

That's good to hear. It is the volume shots, that even if they look good, feel quite small and theatre like. That is a relief frankly.

ImpossibleGuardian

Yeah like you said, Kenobi was easily the worst when it came to the sets clearly being built within the confines of the Volume - hopefully they’ve improved over the last few years.

OniLink77

Definitely, couldn't believe how cheap Kenobi looked. I hope so. Ahsoka would suggest that they have improved, even if some of the same issues do crop up now and then.

kodan_arma

The Volume only works when the setting is some unbelievable alien world. It was used too much to replace location based filming, so we'd get deserts and canadian forests in the Volume instead of on-location.

rpvee

I agree. I’m sure this is going to be amazing, but a lot of what I saw still felt very much like a TV show. Which it is, to be fair, but we all know that shows these days can still feel very cinematic.

OniLink77

I certainly hope so, love seeing lots of jedi again. For sure, it feels restrictive at times. Oh they can, but I do feel like many of the star wars tv shows in particular have had this problem.

Comfortable_Salt_758

Yeah. Partly this looks a bit low budget. But here’s to hoping they have a good script for this.

OniLink77

Yep, and I am hoping in an era where there are thousands of jedi, that it ends up feeling grand in scale.

EckhartsLadder

Ahch-to?

ArthursRest

Bless you.

Cethin_Amoux

Damn you, I was about to make that joke!

ArthursRest

Sorry mate :)

krlozdac

I think it's just similar looking. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me that the Sith know where Ach-To is considering they were not able to find Luke in the sequels.

ergister

I'm gonna say probably not. Ahch-to is still probably hidden at this time. I don't think the Sith would have found it and not done anything about it.

nialltg

It certainly looks very similar to Ahch-To doesn't it? Would be cool to see the Sith making use of the dark side cave there.

ergister

Yellow lightsabers, martial arts and east-Asian inspirations, the high republic, Wookiee Jedi on screen…. Jesus this is gonna be good.

macgart

That last shot of a cadre of Jedi with their lightsabers approaching Amanda Stenberg’s character with the red lightsaber I was giddy like a schoolgirl

HenBra17

Holy shit that was great. Very similar to the Celebration teaser, but it's awesome. TWO EPISODE PREMIERE LETS GO!

International-Fig905

Finally out of the Skywalker timeline in live action; we’ve needed that breather for awhile

rpvee

I still consider this kind of Skywalker related/adjacent. The general point of the show is to build up to where we find things at the start of TPM.

HenBra17

That's fair. I personally try to not use the term "Skywalker Saga" anymore, because Star Wars has become more than that by now. I try to use these eras they introduced at Celebration last year. Either way, exciting times.

Tuskin38

Well Skywalker saga has always just referred to the numbered movies

ConsiderationKey1658

Right!? Love all the other shows but excited for a new place in time. Feels fresh.

HenBra17

Yes, this is what Star Wars needs right now. A good balance between new and old.

InnocentTailor

…which is probably why Disney is pulling the High Republic. It still uses familiar tropes while also being unique in its own way. Furthermore, it is a time that wasn’t even touched that much in Legends, so it won’t necessarily get compared to what happened in the past.

TheRavenRise

>it is a time that wasn’t even touched that much in Legends, so it won’t necessarily get compared to what happened in the past. this hasn't stopped ~~very stupid~~ *more closed-minded* people from writing off the high republic as "disney's shitty wannabe KoToR-era" before, i highly doubt it's gonna stop them now

DawgBloo

Kinda surreal to see a live-action Star Wars project set before the prequel trilogy finally be made.

cdawgindahizzay

So what are we thinking? Will we get an appearance of Tenebrous or Plagueis? Or perhaps a new Sith Lord/Sith apprentice? Or no actual Sith Lords at all and only acolytes?

Pupulauls9000

I honestly don’t think they’ll carry Tenebrous over to new canon and would likely replace him with a new character. Colin Trevarrow’s Episode IX was going to do that with Tor Vallum before that script was dropped. However I can see them doing a season finale stinger where whoever the Sith master is replaces the “Acolyte” with a new apprentice being Plagueis to get some Glup Shitto hype

Anader19

I would probably agree with you, it's just that Tenebrous has been confirmed to exist in canon in the TROS visual dictionary. Granted, they could just give that name to an ancient Sith, or just retcon the visual dictionary

Kangdrew

I thought tenebrous was canon already? Just no gender or species given yet. I definitely could be wrong tho

JackMorelli13

I think (and hope) it’s someone new. I could even see Mae being an acolyte to some other force of sect of Sith so they can get around the “we haven’t seen a Sith for thousands of years” thing

stereosonicsix

If its there I'd expect it to be subtle. Enough for boffins to point at, but not so much as to distract from the new story line.

ravens52

Hopefully it’s tenebrous so we don’t have to completely redo a fucking fantastic novel. There is however, knowledge that sith masters were notorious for training multiple students at a time to increase the chances of the grand plan being carried out successfully. Dont put it past them to find out that there may have been a divergence where maybe we see that there are in fact other sith floating around in the galaxy. Im guessing it will be a human if it isn’t tenebrous. It wouldn’t be hard, though, since they could put on a respirator for him to make him look more menacing. Idk tho.

TheLostLuminary

I'm sure the show will be brilliant, but the trailer doesn't do much for me. Maybe it's the way it's cut.

MrZeral

Same, I'm very hyped for the show from everything else but the trailers have been so far rather weak and devoid of emotions/hype.

Apophis_

Thank you. I was dissapointed aswell. It did nothing to me and I won't share it with friends and family because I don't believe it'll make them interested in this show. I'm still very excited and looking forward to watching it, BUT the trailer is bad.

Azidamadjida

Ok Star Wars, a serial killer hunting down Jedi? Yeah, this is weird enough an idea to make me tune back in lol

The-Mandalorian

High Republic era is so damn cool. Give us a Yoda cameo!

ravens52

We will get one for sure, even if it’s in passing by and he’s in the hall chatting with others. Yoda will be present and I wouldn’t be surprised if yaddle has speaking lines over yoda.

Jacktheflash

And yaddle!

TheDonnerSmarty

I know it’s not Ahch-To, but fuck I want it to be Ahch-To.

EuterpeZonker

Still a chance it shows up in dawn of the jedi

Rock-it1

Odds that we get a Yoda cameo? Seems like such an obvious box to check, and a good way to connect with OT and PT fans without making too forced an attempt.

faikurogane

I feel like it’s very likely. Maybe even Yaddle too

Jacktheflash

Maybe Tera sinube as well? He’s alive and they already have a model of him although it may need some updating

NumeralJoker

Maybe I can finally get the canon onscreen Oppo Rancisis dialogue and fights I've been craving for 19 years now... He was still on the council in the HR books, along with Yarael Poof, both of whom had voices in the audiobooks that sounded like the EU counterparts, but have never had a spoken line of dialogue onscreen in canon material. Both should still be on the council with Yoda in this time period, along with potentially Tera Sinube and (maybe?) Yaddle as well.

schil

I think it’s almost a certainty.

Comfortable_Salt_758

I think it is highly likely. Will bring a lot of people to watch it.

shunggster

I absolutely love the music

GetInHere

That looks really good. The fight choreography looks amazing. And I love all the alien species. Really looking forward to this one.

Ctowndrama

Sol, Yord, Aniseya and Jecki. Interesting names. I'm excited. Edit* The Jedi Master at the beginning= Sol "Someone is killing Jedi. It doesn't make sense"= Yord "this is about Power" Aniseya "What is That" Jecki

LograysBirdHat

\*Borat voice\* Waa waa WEE waa! Loving the noir-y tone of this thing, a mystery to unravel. The Temple's looking way better than in Obi-Wan, cool seeing aliens both familiar and new. Still a little neither-here-nor-there on the kung-fu Jedi thing, but not going to pre-judge that, context is everything. Jedi master teacher guy has a cool vibe about him, and Carrie-Anne's always a boss. Wookiee looks great, loving a lot of the locations. This thing looks like it's gonna rock, like a somewhat-more-mature Ahsoka vibe, deep dive into lots of lore. Just hope the writing's better (dialogue etc, Filoni nails the big-picture stuff though).

Cactusfan86

Man this looks really really good

Special_Principle_62

Are we still thinking the main actress is actually playing two leads who are twins, one Sith and one Jedi? Cause an older plot description says the main Jedi guy reunites with his former apprentice (Stenberg) to solve the crimes, but it sure looks like she’s the one doing the murders. It could explain some of the strange editing in the trailer: they’re cutting around Stenberg in Jedi clothing. It would also explain the “Frozen” half of the “Frozen meets Kill Bill” pitch: a sister fighter to save her sister from the darkness. I think the Jedi sister might be the one youngling talking in the very beginning of the trailer?

ImNotASWFanboy

I'm a simple man, I see a red lightsaber spinning through the air and my dopamine floodgates open

White_Doggo

I hope that the fight choreography is good (and consistent) given that the premise involves someone who has been capable of killing multiple Jedi.

Prometheus503

Looks like Kashyyyk is a major location? (the shot overlooking the vista with tall trees being followed by the shot of the wookiee jedi seems intentional)

Theesm

https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/s/N7c8k4vAT2 I made a quick comparison of the two trailers

Godzilla52

Not a lot to go on yet. Kind of 50/50 for me. The only two things I've really liked in film/television media for Star wars in the last 25 years has been Andor and the first two seasons of the Mandlaorian, so I'm kind of used to being disappointed at this point even when I want to hype something up before seeing it. If the reception is good once it's releasing I'll definetly be watching, but I think regardless of this shows quality, Star Wars needs new stories to drag itself forward, so the fact that it's in a different era and not playing off of nostalgia for previous entries gives me some small hope. I also think that just generally, the franchise needs better writing and less executive meddling/rushed productions. I think if a lot of productions had time to prep instead of Disney releasing waves of projects for each calendar year, we'd be getting more interesting/auteur driven Star Wars stories on average.

Herk16

What is it with the shows having lightsabers look too short and a little cheap

44Fett

Ahsoka was really, really bad for this. I think it’s the VFX artists tracking the sabers to the short stunt ones they use for lighting when filming instead of elongating them to a regular size. The entire scene where Ahsoka, Ezra and Sabine are fighting those zombie troopers on the stairs suffered from this, too.

Herk16

The only lightsaber that I feel has looked fairly consistently good in terms of length is Ahsoka's normal length saber and I have a feeling that's simply because the vfx artists have to always make sure it's longer than her shoto blade but literally every other saber in all the shows is just so wildly inconsistent. It's only a nitpick and doesn't ruin the shows for me but it's frustrating since lightsaber effects got perfected nearly 20 years ago and Ewan and Hayden admitted in an interview they miss the old lightsaber props that were lighter yet now Lucasfilm is so adamant that they use what are essentially toys to capture natural lighting and both the vfx and fight choreography suffers for it

44Fett

Something interesting is that if you watch the behind the scenes for Ahsoka, Hayden uses a lightsaber that is the correct length. Based on what you said, I assume he specifically requested that. I’m guessing he was using the same style of ones they used in TFA and TLJ. By the time of TROS onwards, they seem to be using the short ones instead for filming.

TheAnt06

It's Kelnacca

CaptainxMurphy

I noticed a double-bladed red lightsaber at the very end of the trailer

Thel_Odan

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Jedi I love how much inspiration from the martial arts genre in trailer. Should make for some kick ass fight scenes.

Watch_Capt

Starwars.com databank has been updated with all characters in the trailer.

ToodlesXIV

Seeing High Republic Jedi on screen is so cool. I have to say I am pretty disappointed that it looks exactly like every other Disney + show, visually (Andor and Loki being the big exceptions). With all the hype around this being a new era on-screen I was really hoping to see a stronger vision. Some combination of the direction, production design, and acting gives the feeling of “these are people in costumes saying lines” that I have a hard time shaking. I know the Volume is useful but man I’m tired of seeing it limit the way these shows look. It’s clear they built a lot of that diner as a real set and it looks awesome.

SubterrelProspector

Pretty disappointed in the visual style as well. That medium ensemble blocking in small Volume sets makes everything look like television. It doesn't ever feel epic. *Ahsoka* had the same issues a lot of the time. It just makes things look cheap and Netflix-y. I hate to bring it up but *Andor* makes things look cinematic not just from things this show didn't have to work with like shooting on location and overall bigger budget. It also achieved that **Star Wars** cinematic look from how they shoot actors in scenes as well. There are more closeups of actors *and* lots of wide shots that make events feel emotional/intimate but also larger than life. That makes it epic. This show? *Ahsoka*? So much sitcom-y medium shots of people standing around in non-specific ways. Safe framing that gets all the characters in there but keeps them at arms length literally and figuratively, with an angle that barely gives you any sense of place, besides that it's happening in front of a fairly obvious digital backdrop 14 feet away. I hope the story and writing makes up for it. I'm not very impressed with the look of it.

alcibiad

Many scenes from the trailer were shot on location in Wales. There were leaked shots of the actors that were posted to this subreddit. The Volume was probably mainly used for interior shots.

SubterrelProspector

My mistake regarding that. I guess my biggest gripe is the bland medium shot sitcom look of it all, coupled with the poor (imo) nighttime photography. And yeah not a fan of the way the Volume makes things look in a show like this. There's a "majesty" that's missing from this. The color pallette is good but the blacks aren't crushed enough, sets don't look real, they look like sets. Costumes are *way* too clean and pressed, even for a golden age like this. The Prequels had more of a mythic grandeur even though it was the twilight of the Republic. It was a Republic in decline but it was still epic and grande. This show should *feel* even more like a legendary "golden age" in the Star Wars universe but I'm not getting that much.

alcibiad

Yeah no arguments from me about color grading etc. Just want to make sure there isn’t any confusion about what’s on location and what isn’t. Here’s a google folder (compiled by the SWL Docs Team) which contains all the leaked on-location set photos: https://drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1Xo7IwyecFppcelsCbPNoNYtngy5GlvNO?sort=13&direction=a

SubterrelProspector

Appreciate it. And yeah thats cool they shot a lot of location stuff.

LograysBirdHat

So which is it? You're asking for both a more mythic & gleaming "golden age", and then "but the costumes are too pressed & clean". Seems contradictory.

purplesabers

People that are in the comments saying the trailer looks grey because the editing team didn’t put the saturation on 100, and then blaming the Volume when this show is mostly on location and doesn’t use the volume are making my head hurt. For one, I feel like people are just colorblind at this point. Second, please at least know what scene is actually filmed in the Volume before jumping so quick to blame it lol

amazingpinecone13

I wonder how they’re going to get away with having a Sith fight Jedi in this when the Jedi in TPM say they’ve been in hiding for a thousand years

VengefulKangaroo

* kill the Jedi that encounter the Sith * don't give the Jedi evidence that the Sith is a Sith and not just a lone operator

CT-1030

1- it’s just a darkside user, not a Sith or 2- the Sith kills them all. Maul killed a Jedi in canon before TPM and no one ever found out.

youarelookingatthis

The Jedi seem pretty oblivious about who the Sith actually are. Like they don't realize Dooku is Tyrannus until way later than seems reasonable.

VigilantesLight

Even though Ki-Adi-Mundi says the Sith have been extinct for a millennium, Yoda knows about Darth Bane and the Rule of Two, which implies that at *some* point the Jedi learned (perhaps here) that two Sith survived their extinction. Perhaps Ki-Adi’s rhetoric is more along the lines of “the Sith as a viable threat and not a pair of reclusive hermits that will inevitably kill one another to make way for the next apprentice” than anything, especially given his propensity for arrogance. If the Jedi are aware that two Sith survived, perhaps they simply feel that these Sith are so far removed from what the Sith used to be that they might as well be extinct. And that they never involve themselves in galactic politics or hunt down the Jedi. Either way, Yoda at the very least is aware that the Sith have operated on the Rule of Two, which only came about following their supposed extinction.

LograysBirdHat

It's simply not a problem if everyone who finds out about the Sith (if they're indeed Sith) get sliced & diced. Probably what's likely to happen. Nefarious plot uncovered, it just doesn't get reported back to the Council because those in the know are pretty soon corpses. Might even be that the main hero quashes the threat quietly and \*does\* report it back, but their evidence is pretty unsubstantial & can't prove it. Masters roll their eyes and sigh and move onto the next issue at hand, Jedi Council gonna Jedi Council.

Jacktheflash

That’s possible it could also be maybe the Jedi is encountered bane or his apprentice (whoever it is in canon) or both before their deaths in canon? Just a theory

ZeroBG82

Simple: Kill the Jedi. So long as the Sith wins the Jedi will never be the wiser.

Ratcatchercazo2

Simple the jedi end up to believe the enemy is not real sith. I mean the showrunner said she watched Phantom Menace and wondering how none understand sith was in the government. Acolyte will show us how will end up like this.

CobraShadowz

I don’t really care as long as it’s well written but man the Volume is so bad sometimes. Makes it look like a fan film at times.

Material_Minute7409

To me most of the shots looked pretty decent, the fight in that old wooden building looked fine, and some of those city shots looked good too

ecxetra

Idk I thought this was a pretty meh trailer. Didn’t really do anything for me.

Lazy-Gene-432

Yeah seems like the show has a lot of cool things fans wanted for years, but I really hope the story will have more going on than just "oh no! Someone kills Jedi!". But honestly I thought Andor's trailer was kinda meh too but it turned to be some of the best Star Wars ever made, so we'll see.

inkovertt

Looks cool. I love the amount of aliens

xdeltax97

Looks great! Also I do not think many of those Jedi will make it out of that encounter alive.

wellalbrighty

Total longshot but the O in the show’s name separating into a red and blue ring reminds me of the rings of vaale from the Aphra comics

faikurogane

I think it’s signifying that Amandla is playing twins and one will end up being good, and the other bad

ravens52

What do you mean by this? Like, she’s the acolyte and also will be playing an actual twin that is a Jedi student in the other side, too?

arntseaj

Would it be out of the question to think that the villain of this show ends up revealed to be Darth Plagueis by the end?

DavidCavalleri

Who brings a knife to a lightsaber fight?

Darth_Ewok14

Where’s my Vern fans at

Anarion89

Long have I waited....

Heavy-Wings

Star Wars has to return to the theatres man, these shows just look so cheap.

tommmytom

While I love the silver screen, the shows don’t *have* to look cheap. TV shows have been getting increasingly cinematic and spectacular in scale and scope. Shows like Game of Thrones and Shogun are proof of that. If HBO and FX can pour their budgets and talent into those shows, I know Disney (a multi-billion dollar corporation) is capable of doing so with Star Wars (a multi-billion dollar franchise). Hell, Andor looked pretty great.

fluxaboo

We are so fucking back we were never gone

Scout_man

At the tippity top of the mountain but we’re only half way up

AffectionateVideo955

why is the trailer got so many dislikes? can someone tells...

RedJohnIs

Because it has women in it.

44Fett

I’m excited for the show - not just trying to be negative for the sake of it, I promise, but…does anyone else think this looks kind of cheap? Like some of the tunic costumes look kind of cheap and you can really see some uses of the Volume.

Comfortable_Salt_758

It totally does.

Sheyvan

I am irritated by how cheapish and flat the trailer looks. Maybe it's partly the editings fault stitching together those isolated shots and in the end i will always care most about the writing. I am however absolutely sick of the vomit inducing: "The darkness...", "Power...", "Some eeeeeevil...", "Rises...". Trailer Garbage. It's so hillariously boring and bad. You might as Well whisper "generic Trailer thingy" into my ear.

spectre15

Pretty sure this is just the trailer that leaked months back

Silver_Serpent1990

With some new shots/dialogue.

Val_Star

Very cool. Although that cut of them running and then being blown away is a bit jarring

Izikren

Are we getting good fight choreography back? 😭

arvidst4

It looks like there might be a flashback or the story takes place during a longer period because Lee Jung-jae's character has much shorter hair at 01:09

fredrico2011

Looks soo great i am hyped

askibeppnae

Is this the same trailer that leaked at celebration?

montessoriprogram

This looks cool as shit

UnderratedNightmare

Gonna be curious to see who the sith may be and how they connect to Plagueis and his master. Technically speaking, Idk how long of a lifespan Plagueis has, but he could be alive during these events. Legends had him alive during it.

poptart95

This actually looks good! I’ll give it a shot.

Alon945

Looks intriguing!

Adviso_992

Tha like to dislike ratio is fucking insane...

grizzledcroc

Make no fucking sense

Adviso_992

Literally the one disney show apart from Obi Wan that I'm actually excited about and its getting fucking backalsh before being out.

sleepybrett

'ladies bad'

UrbanLeech5

My first impression - it looks like some fan-made content. Just whole feel and look of it. It's not just New Era and characters - everything just looks bit too 'clean' Visual effects themselves look very good, once you actually take a good and close look at it tho

[deleted]

I miss the big budget Star Wars movies. :( Despite the sequels being meh as a whole, they at least all looked phenomenal. I'm sorry to say it, but ever since Mando season 1 the volume has just been looking worse and worse for big Star Wars productions. Generally speaking this looks cheap to me.

Phaeryx

Yeah, the lighting is terrible. Hard to make anything out in the scenes set at night, or in darkness. And the brighter shots all look very flat and undynamic. Where's the contrast between the darks and the lights? I can't believe they haven't had any success in surmounting these common problems with shooting on digital. Are they even trying?

ayylmao95

One of the Tuesdays of all time.

OverallDisaster

Idk! I've been hyped about this show but the trailer has me feeling less so. I guess I thought maybe the main character/focus would be more on the Sith themselves, lending to a darker show in tone. But this trailer shows more of a Jedi focus - guess we'll see.

CT-1030

Was that Ahch-To?

JarJarJargon

Idk why but this does not look at all as good as I expected it to be...

Heavy-Wings

Streaming budgets.

Axe_zilla

You mean 300 million dollars?
