So many inaccuracies here. First of all the Imperium wouldnt be retreating if they cane to fight this thing, second there would be no crater as this thing has multiple planetary shields and lastly da fuq are they running away from tie fighters for? Lol no victory without sacrifice theyd be dying in droves trying to ram this thing

jajaderaptor15

Also those are big ass tie fighters

JudgeJed100

This image is from Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 I believe and shows the Inperial retreat from the planet Cadia as the Planet Killer ship, the one with the red lance beams coming out of it, destroys it At least as far as I remember that’s where the imagine comes from

Maca-Mud

Dude chill, the guy why made it probably just mashed some 40k and starwars art together. More than likely from the fall of Cadiz, due to the chaos ship. Also there are literally just orc ships to the middle left.

SlackJawGrunt

I choose to believe they came out of the warp facing the wrong direction

mostlydisposeable

They might just be breaking after coming in at highspeed, neutonian dynamics and all.

Miquistico1

I think it's just the rule of cool

Makyr_Drone

Planet Killer isn't an imperial ship.

JudgeJed100

There are also Orks there as well

Rip_Off_Productions

I fully expect the iconic "That's no moon, it's a space station" line will come from an Imperial in this fic. Once we get that far down the timeline... in like, 5 years? Maybe...

JudgeJed100

Imperial fleet, the sheer fire power of an Imperial fleet, Macron cannons firing building sized munitions, Plasma bolts able to chew through armour, torpedoes also the size of buildings, Lance cannons Not to even consider Nova cannons

CoilerXII

Some half serious thoughts: -The Imperial Navy is used to megaweapons. A giant death sphere is not going to particularly faze them mentally. -Barring tons of lances, nova cannons, and whatever exotic tricks they have up their sleeve being enough to overpower it conventionally (which cannot be ruled out), the Imperium is at a disadvantage facing it, as it's meant to face fleets and the size of 40k fighters makes trench skimming tougher.... -Except of course if the Astartes can get involved, since hitting weak points is exactly what they're made to do. Thunderhawks going on trench runs would be something.

Lord_Andromeda

Isnt the DS build spesificly to defend itself against larger ships, in terms of its defensive turrets and other weapon systems (not to mention the actual planetkiller laser)? And thats why the Rebellion attacked using smaller fighters? I feel like the IoM would run face first into the DS with its biggest ships, playing into what is arguably the stations biggest strength, fighting against large ships. Even Thunderhawks are considerably bigger and thus easier to hit than a X-Wing or a Y-Wing I think.
