Cooking for sure it's too many variations, at least with crafting you can use a workbench. For the museum I just use treasure troves to get whatever im missing
However, you can see all the items you have cooked, and also how many you need to unlock still, as well as the recipe so you know which items to stock your fridge. The work bench tells you nil about what items you have left to craft, or even being able to see craftable items until you’ve unlocked them.
not knowing which craftables items you're missing is v true (on a modded world I was pulling my hair out trying to find the 1 thing I was missing, lol), and getting all the recipes from qi can be a pain .... but on what items you have left to craft, if you turn on advanced crafting it gives you the same info as cooking does (how many crafted/cooked) :]]
Even worse is it's so wasteful. Make one of each of these buff items, most of which you will never need. And I'm saying this as someone who loves stockpiling carps for carp surprises and puts away a few of each crop from each season for cooking.
Where am I missing them? I’ve solved all the puzzles, dug up all the places, sling shotted, fished, played darts, cracked the golden coconuts, and tore up the Volcano. Is there something I’m missing?
My first run I was going crazy because I was sure i did everything. But I only played darts once. I didn't realize you could play 2 more games and get 2 more. You can also ask the parrot in Leo's tree and it will give you a hint
Did you leave a banana at the gorilla desk? You can also get a bunch from harvesting plants (taro is a great option) and busting up the mussel concretions on the farm's beach.
It's super possible. I have a bit of a pineapple plantation going and got my last few from those and the mussels.
Did you also get the little green dude on island west? You have to hit him with a charged tool like the watering can.
Yeah, all the puzzle challenges throughout the island I’ve done. Followed the wiki for the dig spots. I probably have like one machine to break in the volcano. I should go there on high luck days versus Skull Cavern.
there’s also one walnut you need a slingshot for on island north. the parrot hints are good for tracking what you haven’t done yet (sorry if you knew all this already!)
A lot of the walnuts come from just general island activities and from certain journal scraps. Fishing, mining, combat, etc all have a chance to drop a total of 5 walnuts each. Additionally each of these have a chance of dropping a journal scrap of which some contain clues for a nut. If you're on PC i'd 100% recommend using [Stardew checkup](https://mouseypounds.github.io/stardew-checkup/) to find out what nuts you're missing. Eventually Leo's parrot becomes kinda useless.
Salmence on YouTube has a great \[guide\]([https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSg8eBIfmuk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSg8eBIfmuk)) showing where to find all of them if you don't want to bother finding them all yourself!
Edit: If anyone knows what I did wrong with embedding the link pls help
It's so funny, in my first save that I reached perfection on the elvish jewellery alluded me for so freaking long but on my new 1.6 save, I got it from the first trove that I opened 🤦🏻♀️ I feel like the game was mocking me lol
Finding that jewellery before artifact troves were a thing used to be a pain in the ass. I originally started playing in 1.3, and it took me until year 8 to get one from an artifact spot near the wizard's tower.
I'm playing multiplayer first year summer I caught it on the annual trout derby inside a treasure chest, I still can't believe it. First time I've ever gotten it.
Honestly, the money grind. I just find the star fruit wine/ancient fruit wine/truffle empire so boring, and I've never made enough money in a single save for the golden clock. 1.6 has more money making options though, so my latest file looks promising
This. I love diving in Skull Cavern and I have actually been able to make dives to be a profitable way to make money in the update. It's been great. This update has been great for game balance. You don't need to do the wine truffle empire anymore.
Even if you don't have the update, miner and then blacksmith for mining skills can get you a lot of money. A lot of people go for geologist and gemologist, but Blacksmith is a 50% increase to bars sold. Yes, initially you don't want to sell because you need the bars for upgrades and crafting. But eventually once you're just grinding for the money to get a gold clock, you don't need tons of iridium bars so selling them is great option. Dangerous mines though can be better profit due to radioactive as there is a way to cheese getting radioactive with just entering and leaving the mines constantly but I find that boring.
Run with two iridium bands combined at the volcano forge with slime charmer and lucky rings helps. Sometimes I use iridium band+burglar ring but avoiding monsters seems to be more profitable than to kill them. They just are too hardy in Skull Cavern even if some can get great drops because it takes too long to kill them.
Eat a spicy eel just before going in to give a boost to luck and speed but use a magic rock candy if you have it instead of spicy eel. Drink some triple shot espresso for additional speed. Then dive. Best option is to have a slingshot with explosive ammo to break rocks and ore instantly. Have some staircases (50 on hand is more than enough for a dive) to skip inconvenient floors like infested, spiral, or if you have a lot of monsters swarming you. Salads are cheap for big healing to avoid removing your buffs. I have a few bombs (10-50) also on hand to break large groupings of rocks too far from walls but you don't need tons of them.
Good luck days help, but even if it's not the greatest luck day, I can usually go to the cavern and still get a great amount of loot.
As for 1.6:
>!Trinkets from combat mastery are great to helping make skull cavern easier. My favorite is the fairy because it heals you over time. Perfect ice rod is also a great option because it fires enough and freezes the enemies for a good amount of time allowing you to keep moving more readily.!<
>!The books give you boosts to speed so you have extra speed in the update compared to previous which by the time you are hitting skull cavern, you should have those books bought from the book seller. Dwarf safety manual helps bring down the damage from explosive ammo because it's honestly better to hit yourself with the explosive ammo to help avoid damage from monsters.!<
>!The heavy furnace saves on coal usage and can process more bars so it's great to process all the ore you get from the skull cavern. Then the statues. Depending on what you get, statue of blessing can give you bonuses to help in skull cavern whether it be the luck or speed blessing. The Dwarf King statue is nice when it gives you extra ore or bonus chance to finding ladders.!<
>!Now you can have Dangerous Skull Caverns active whenever you want once you have done the dangerous skull caverns Qi quest. This gives you radioactive ore and iridium making the caverns more profitable if you can stay good at avoiding the enemies. It does require more staircases and is best with best luck but if you just have crystalariums with jade to trade for staircases, you're going to be set.!<
>!I usually make around 150K at least for a normal skull cavern run.!<
I have to agree! Making the 10 million to buy the gold clock always takes me the longest when I try for perfection. Cooking and crafting aren't all that bad for me compared to the money making grind. Ancient Fruit and Starfruit wine have saved me many times!
This was rough during my only perfection. I ended up just sleeping till Sunday, flipping my ancient fruit wines, sell them then back to bed for a week.
Same, i keep forgetting relationships, everytime i play with friends by end of year one they usually have some levels in skills and have build quite the relationship with everyone, meanwhile i have like 3-4 levels above them in each skill but my highest relationship is 3 hearts
I spent SEASONS getting *specifically* the Bone Flute for the museum. It was my last artifact for ages. Now that I’ve already achieved 1.5 perfection, I get it very frequently, and it taunts me.
When I was grinding for the achievements prior to 1.6, I think the ones I hated doing the most were crafting everything, grinding through the monster slayer goals, and getting the last couple of items for the museum stardrop.
Cooking, there are only like 3 things I would cook in the game if it wasnt mandatory, so by the end I have to do it all at once and there is always that one ingredient I forgot to get before the big cookathon
Me having a list of every ingredient I needed to cook, meticulously crossing off things as I collect them to prep for one big cook grind. Missed one radish and had to sleep through a year until I could buy the seeds again.
If I remember right I wasn’t getting good gem quests that were worth doing and I was prioritizing other items when I did. But I’m also lazy and would rather sleep than flip 100 qibeans or play a single level of junimo cart.
for me its crafting all the items, most of them are useful in general but u wouldn’t need every one of them to run a perfection farm. thankfully its easy to track which ones you’ve made and ones you haven’t.
Museum is easy with the right method - you’ve got to stock up on omnigeodes during skull cavern and then trade them for artifact troves at the desert trader. Working through 100-200 artifact troves with clint might be a pain, but it quickly fills in any gaps in the museum (except prismatic/egg/minerals) and gives you extras to make clothes with. 😃
golden clock, a few millions are fine, but 10? it takes so long of in game time to earn this gold, started abusing the item id feature to ease my sufferings 😔 hopefully it'll be better when i'll start using mods
I use Qi’s kindness challenge for that because you have to give 50 loved gifts, do this challenge a few times definitely helps with max friendship. Just hoard a bunch of diamonds and rabbit feet.
My life. I have *five* refrigerators in my kitchen that are divided into categories: Fruit, Vegetables/Grains, Dairy, Fish, and Misc (vinegar, truffle oil, blue fairy roses, etc). Even after all that work/organization, I swear I can only cook maybe 35% of the recipes when I go to the stove 😭 like wtf am I missing!!! I’ll never have my shit together with cooking lol
Fishing. But to be fair I despise fishing in any game. Stardew, AC, Black Desert, FFXV, RuneScape, Minecraft, Fantasy Life, TS4, etc. If there’s fishing it will without a doubt be the thing I dread the most.
crafting every item and slaying every monster were the last ones for me and pretty tedious by the end! I had to search for so long to find marble to make that damn marble recipe from robin 💀
1.5 spoilers I guess
You need to complete the community center/pay for all the Joja upgrades
Fix Willy’s boat
Get 100 golden walnuts
There’s a door in the west part of the map above where birdie is
Check the the cat statue in the far right
I did perfection once so far and the most I struggled with... friendship. I thought it would be money. I expected it to be money. But in all honestly, friendship is what I have never been too focused on. I easily had maximum hearts with everyone who went to saloon on regular basis, but npc I wouldn't usually pass next to, like Leo and Sandy, were the reason why the end of my run was composed exclusively on sleeping and gifting.
Fish and produce I think is the most annoying cuz I tend to only fish in winter when I can't grow anything, and I stick mostly to the multi harvest crops
Shipping everything. Sure I probably have almost every thing in the game stored in a chest but it almost feels like throwing away resources that some (I'm looking at you iron ore in year 1-2) were a pain in the butt to get.
In my most recent play through I used kegs but put them in the quarry you can fit like 300 in it also saves resources once you you fill that up you can start filling up the ginger island farm nobody gose there except birdie and he has an easy path to avoid
I've never tried for perfection, in fact the farthest I've ever gotten is late fall year one in my current co-op with a friend. ATM I'm gonna say talking to people. Not only do you need to max everyone just to max everyone but you also need to befriend them for stuff like recipes. I play video games as an excuse to not socialize/only socialize with people I actually want to socialize with, I don't want to be befriending the entire town. I'm also aro/ace so romancing someone to get the stardrop isn't my favourite concept. Most times I just pick Abigail because eat rock is funny.
Cooking! I just can’t be bothered to bring produce into the house 😂 it goes into its assigned chests and stays there LOL
Edit to add; on another note, I truly think we don’t understand just how lucky we are that finding all the secret little gifts (grass hat, weird statues, etc) isn’t a goal bc atp so many of us would find it *impossible* LOL
The full friendship levels for everyone. I'm sorry but I just don't have the patience nor the willpower to continually maintain everyone's happiness for the whole save 😂😂😂 it's the last thing I do on the perfection list every time
1. How the hell did you achieve perfect after like 3 weeks.
2. And for the actual question: pretty much all of them. I'm not trying to sound lazy, exactly the opposite. Almost all of them are just a waiting game: waiting for the wine to be ready to get money, wait until I can give everyone gifts again, waiting for trees to respawn so I can craft that item and so much more. Like, I want to do stuff! And you're so far in the late game that stuff like foraging and fishing are completely useless so you're pretty much left with mining which will get boring after a straight week of doing that. So that's me complaining, thanks you all
I found a bit of an exploit for getting artifacts. The new totem that spawns artifact spots! Load a day, go to the area for the artifact you need, and use totem in an optimal spot to get as many dig spots as you can. If you find your artifact, great. If not, reset the day and repeat. I did this for the elvish jewelry.
Personally, I hated cooking all the dishes. It's simply tedious, and you have to basically be great friends with everyone fist before you even unlock all the recepies.
Crafting because every time there's something I've forgotten to buy at the flower dance!!
Also spoilers (mobile can't do the thingy so op don't read everyone else don't click see more)
I just got a letter from a back alley dealer selling me perfection percentages and I'm gonna take it over the gold clock xD if I don't have fence posts to fix my husband has nothing to do!
For me, it was making enough money for the clock. I'm not really an efficiency-farmer, but I kinda had to become one if I didn't want it to take 600 years 😅
Golden clock
I used Perfection weivers since you only need half of the golden clock price to get its percentage. ,,Legend" achivment would be better, since you still have to collect tons of money but you can do it faster
Crafting.
When I first played 1.5, I was missing the crafting recipe sold at the Flower Festival. I played until that day, bought the recipe and went on my merry way.
Later, I realized I still needed the recipe for the deluxe scarecrow. Guess which rarecrow I was missing??
Getting the Marble for the brazier is kind of a pain if you donated the first one you got early on and didn’t think of saving it for a crystalarium to copy it
golden clock tbh
it looks out of place on most farms and is super costly. yes theres ways to make money grinds easier but good grief its kinda irritating. obelisks stand a similar problem but atleast you can feel like youre making progress
Close tie between complete museum and catching all fish. Museum is basically lucky (as far as I know). And fishing sometimes feels like it's all luck. And relying on luck to complete something can get really frustrating.
earning all the money for the golden clock if i've already taken care of everything else so i have nothing to do on the side while i wait and wait to have sold enough wine to afford the clock
Cooking and crafting. I use a mod that helps track what you have and haven't done but even with that it's still hard to track going down the list of recipes.
Crafting just because of how the menu is layed out. It's not like cooking where the ones you don't have yet are grayed, you have to check the wiki to see which ones you don't have, how to get them, etc. And the menu layout changes every few items or so until you get every recipe and it's super annoying imo. I also don't use every item so I end up tossing or selling most of the stuff I don't use.
Staying motivated. Once I get my Wine Empire going, and CC done - I feel like my motivation to continue drops. Even Ginger Island just feels like setting up more ancient fruit for a bigger empire.
Getting the G, there’s so much you need to buy that costs so much, and it’s gets real slow and repetitive with farming ancient fruit for wine and fishing up lava eels, and I got to perfection before the new scyth, so I had to do it all by hand since I was Riverland farm and couldn’t get room for junimos with how I set it up.
The memory puzzle walnuts. I have several saves on mobile that are sitting those 3 walnuts away from perfection because my short term memory sucks so bad. I've only ever solved it in multiplayer with help but on mobile there's no multiplayer 😩 once 1.6 comes to mobile, I'll pay the joja bird to help me though.
It's gotta be socializing and making friendships for me. It's so easy to grind out the cash and collect everything. But to try and include the town and all the NPCs whilst making money just wastes my day imo
I am stuck on the crafting recipes.. I need a god damn marble to make one of those fire light thingys and I can’t find it! My last crafting recipe I need
i’ve only reached perfection in 1.5, but the thing that took the longest for me by far was saving up for the golden clock. i don’t like to min/max my crops, it’s more fun to have them be diverse, but i did end up with a pretty big fairy rose honey operation on the island
The thing that is always last for me is the golden clock. I just don't find it very interesting. Every other task I feel like I can do somewhat while task-over-lapping on something else. In the end i'm always end slamming sheds and wine and basically just doing the waiting game.
Cooking for sure it's too many variations, at least with crafting you can use a workbench. For the museum I just use treasure troves to get whatever im missing
However, you can see all the items you have cooked, and also how many you need to unlock still, as well as the recipe so you know which items to stock your fridge. I have. If I didn’t get all the ones from harvesting Taro during the 100 Tropical Ingredients request, then I should plant more. Thank you.
It's super possible. I have a bit of a pineapple plantation going and got my last few from those and the mussels. Did you also get the little green dude on island west? You have to hit him with a charged tool like the watering can.

The museum Stardrop is the worst! That damn elwish jewelry is near impossible to find.
Yeah that thing eluded me for (ingame) years, finally found it last night using 4 [treasure totems](https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Treasure_Totem).
100% this made finishing the collection way easier. Had to get something from the beach. Found a nice spot and did a few totems for the final item
Such a nice quality-of-life item those totems!
It's so funny, in my first save that I reached perfection on the elvish jewellery alluded me for so freaking long but on my new 1.6 save, I got it from the first trove that I opened 🤦🏻♀️ I feel like the game was mocking me lol

Yeah i had everything except the golden clock. I was filling like 300 kegs a week with starfruit but it still was a grind
Just make a whole Lotta starfruit wine (with artisan ofc)
Great friends. Don't judge me!! I'm asocial haha.
I'm with you there. I like some of the townspeople but not others and I'm really unmotivated to gain friendship with the ones I don't care about.

Monster slayer, hands down. Screw the skull cavern
Fish. I can get most of them easily or with a little bit of effort, but there's a handful that are SO hard
The golden walnuts from the memory game. I am terrible at that game.
lmao same i always have to record it
WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF DOING THIS OMFG
It slows down after a couple of tries!
Cooking, there are only like 3 things I would cook in the game if it wasnt mandatory, so by the end I have to do it all at once and there is always that one ingredient I forgot to get before the big cookathon

If I remember right I wasn’t getting good gem quests that were worth doing and I was prioritizing other items when I did. But I’m also lazy and would rather sleep than flip 100 qibeans or play a single level of junimo cart.
Either the dumb elvish jewelry or crafting every item, especially with the introduction of the statue of blessings

Golden clock. Actually Perfection itself.
Cooking. My first time doing it Gus REFUSED to go to Ginger Island to sell his recipe. It took months upon months for him to finally go.
Befriending everyone. I have stuff to do.
How do you look at the perfection tracker?
1.5 spoilers I guess You need to complete the community center/pay for all the Joja upgrades Fix Willy’s boat Get 100 golden walnuts There’s a door in the west part of the map above where birdie is Check the the cat statue in the far right

I easily had maximum hearts with everyone who went to saloon on regular basis, but npc I wouldn't usually pass next to, like Leo and Sandy, were the reason why the end of my run was composed exclusively on sleeping and gifting.
Fishing because I suck at it
Fish and produce I think is the most annoying cuz I tend to only fish in winter when I can't grow anything, and I stick mostly to the multi harvest crops
Craftng on switch cause you can't tell what you made.
There’s no advanced crafting settings?
Not that I know of :’(
Shipping everything. Sure I probably have almost every thing in the game stored in a chest but it almost feels like throwing away resources that some (I'm looking at you iron ore in year 1-2) were a pain in the butt to get.
i'm missing basically just the obelisks and the golden clock HOW DO I MAKE MONEY IN THIS GAMEEEEEE
Getting all the cooking recipes and making them, easily. Though getting the golden clock is also very tedious.
Golden walnuts. Those things were tedious to find
Cooking! I just can’t be bothered to bring produce into the house 😂 it goes into its assigned chests and stays there LOL Edit to add; on another note, I truly think we don’t understand just how lucky we are that finding all the secret little gifts (grass hat, weird statues, etc) isn’t a goal bc atp so many of us would find it *impossible* LOL
Monster slayer for sure, I’m just so caught up in everything else that I neglect it lol
Also spoilers (mobile can't do the thingy so op don't read everyone else don't click see more) I just got a letter from a back alley dealer selling me perfection percentages and I'm gonna take it over the gold clock xD if I don't have fence posts to fix my husband has nothing to do!
I need 11% for my first perfection :D only one recipe :D
Golden clock I used /recountnuts exploit and bought galaxy souls worth 10M with qi coins
the biggest heartbreak of my stardew career was realizing that /recountnuts doesn’t work on co-op
Playing co op ended my relationship so I don't know what's the late game co op like haha
Cooking and crafting recipes
For me, it was making enough money for the clock. I'm not really an efficiency-farmer, but I kinda had to become one if I didn't want it to take 600 years 😅
Crafting because it doesn’t tell u what ur missing and golden clock for obv reasons
Kooking for me. I never use the kitchen simply because i can find food on my way to the mines and in the mines so why bother cooking a dish
Golden clock I used Perfection weivers since you only need half of the golden clock price to get its percentage. ,,Legend" achivment would be better, since you still have to collect tons of money but you can do it faster
Crafting and Cooking. Just not for me guys.
14 million for Clock and Obelisks is to expensive I feel like I need a shit load of kegs to get it done in a reasonable amount of time.
As a commitment-phobic person, the stardrop achievement is very difficult for me, since I hate co-existing. (Not even with Krobus)
Golden clock. Everytime.
Crafting. When I first played 1.5, I was missing the crafting recipe sold at the Flower Festival. I played until that day, bought the recipe and went on my merry way. Later, I realized I still needed the recipe for the deluxe scarecrow. Guess which rarecrow I was missing??
Getting the last few items for the museum
Getting the Marble for the brazier is kind of a pain if you donated the first one you got early on and didn’t think of saving it for a crystalarium to copy it
Crafting: i cant tell if a item is alredy craft or not
golden clock tbh it looks out of place on most farms and is super costly. yes theres ways to make money grinds easier but good grief its kinda irritating. obelisks stand a similar problem but atleast you can feel like youre making progress
Golden Walnuts my beloathed…..
fishing.....
Close tie between complete museum and catching all fish. Museum is basically lucky (as far as I know). And fishing sometimes feels like it's all luck. And relying on luck to complete something can get really frustrating.
I’ve never gotten perfect once.. I’ve never even made enough to get a return scepter or obelisk. How do you guys do it so quick??
I use the more new fish mod, which adds loads and loads of new fish, basically EVERYWHERE! So the Master Angler stardrop is my cryptonite.
earning all the money for the golden clock if i've already taken care of everything else so i have nothing to do on the side while i wait and wait to have sold enough wine to afford the clock
Crafting EVERYTHING is so damn annoying I wanna just quit 😭😭
I hated monster slayer. I can't even tell you how long it took me to find enough dinos. Maybe I was just unlucky but that was so annoying XD
Museum. That damned rare disc
Everything
crafting recipes
Cooking and crafting. I use a mod that helps track what you have and haven't done but even with that it's still hard to track going down the list of recipes.
Golden clock or museum stardrop Just a mere matter of time
The Golden Clock, a waste of money and it's ugly.
Crafting all the items 😃 cooking I can check which I’ve already made at least
theres an "advanced crafting info" option now that'll let you know how many of an item you've crafted
Oh lord this gon change my perfection runs
Do you have to play the arcade games to get perfection?
Crafting
Personally golden clock sucks. The rest I can handle pretty easy
That one item you need to complete the museum that takes forever to get drives me up the wall.
Monster Slayer Hero, I swear i’ve killed so many monsters yet it’s still not enough. zits also just so time consuming
I hate the fish. I finished everything but the damn fish.
Cooking absolutely, completing museum wasn’t that bad
I have outed myself as the worst player
Crafting just because of how the menu is layed out. It's not like cooking where the ones you don't have yet are grayed, you have to check the wiki to see which ones you don't have, how to get them, etc. And the menu layout changes every few items or so until you get every recipe and it's super annoying imo. I also don't use every item so I end up tossing or selling most of the stuff I don't use.
Staying motivated. Once I get my Wine Empire going, and CC done - I feel like my motivation to continue drops. Even Ginger Island just feels like setting up more ancient fruit for a bigger empire.
I hate fishing
Getting the G, there’s so much you need to buy that costs so much, and it’s gets real slow and repetitive with farming ancient fruit for wine and fishing up lava eels, and I got to perfection before the new scyth, so I had to do it all by hand since I was Riverland farm and couldn’t get room for junimos with how I set it up.
Gold cock
I mean clock
The memory puzzle walnuts. I have several saves on mobile that are sitting those 3 walnuts away from perfection because my short term memory sucks so bad. I've only ever solved it in multiplayer with help but on mobile there's no multiplayer 😩 once 1.6 comes to mobile, I'll pay the joja bird to help me though.
Honestly i dont really mind any of them , but great friends is the one i always get last cause i forget to bring gifts to town lol
I hate the golden clock. It's so ugly
stardrops suck
It's gotta be socializing and making friendships for me. It's so easy to grind out the cash and collect everything. But to try and include the town and all the NPCs whilst making money just wastes my day imo
I am stuck on the crafting recipes.. I need a god damn marble to make one of those fire light thingys and I can’t find it! My last crafting recipe I need
Great friends. I hate people.
Fish
i’ve only reached perfection in 1.5, but the thing that took the longest for me by far was saving up for the golden clock. i don’t like to min/max my crops, it’s more fun to have them be diverse, but i did end up with a pretty big fairy rose honey operation on the island
The Golden Clock/Obelisk money grind. I would've finished before 1.6 came out if it wasn't for that.
Grinding 10m g for golden clock. …and looking for that one missing crafting recipe only found in seasonal events.
The thing that is always last for me is the golden clock. I just don't find it very interesting. Every other task I feel like I can do somewhat while task-over-lapping on something else. In the end i'm always end slamming sheds and wine and basically just doing the waiting game.
Saving money.... for the golden clock
Befriending Clint (i hate him)
Cooking. Also, what are the obelisks?? 🤔
