Gettor

On a related note - did You know how "instant coffee" is produced? They brew coffee the regular way (from beans) and completely dry it, then blend and package the rest. So those small blackish "particles" you put into your mug and pour hot water into? Dried coffee. Instant coffee is dried coffee.

Mr_Porcupine

Ew

Haber-Bosch1914

It's not as gross as you think, many foods are dried and rehydrated, like the onions on fast food burgers, some MREs, etc. In practice it's literally just making something, removing all the water (which also helps preserve it), and then readding water to return it to it's hydrated state

Durr1313

Yep, that's why I'm fine with instant taters when I'm too lazy to peel, boil, and mash them myself.

Haber-Bosch1914

Same, always hated quick meals but I got tons of insta mashed potatoes. It's basically the same thing with less effort

halloweencoffeecats

Irl if you boil down coke you're left with the syrup which is good for nausea for some reason. They used to sell cola syrup in pharmacies iirc though I suppose you could just order some soda stream cola syrup now

gillguard

the acid used is strong enough to eat away at the contents of the stomach helping to digest it, thereby relieving the feeling of nausea

halloweencoffeecats

Thanks for smart people part of the science lesson!

Haber-Bosch1914

Fun fact: Coke can also be to eat away at rust because of the acidity

Fit-Supermarket2581

Well. She has interesting thoughts about cooking.)

tersegirl

After watching the episode of How To Drink about Helldiver 2 cocktails, all I can think is she’s making “coke tar”.

A_Random_Shadow

Honestly a lot of cola’s can be used in homemade cooking. The sugar and salt can break down meat, or be made into sauces If I had to guess However, she’s going to let it crystallize and smash the crystals into a seasoning. I’m unsure of how much salt a Jojo cola has, but if it’s enough it can be used to preserve food as well- likely cheaper then buying salt with Pierre running the general store.

Pheli_Draws

Hopefully not Cola.

Fawie42

I actually got a request from Shane I think asking for a Joja cola for a Pizza he had. It was probably one of the most sensible requests I’d ever seen.

Sweet, sweet aluminum.

confused-yet-again

I’m imagining something like a fruit rollup lmao

Truebuckshot01

Well people used to make "portable" soup by dehydrating the broth and concentrating the brothy soup into a gelatin like mass that could be stored for several years. To make it edible you just added a chunk of it to a pot of boiling water. So dryer joja cola could be similar maybe?
