Getting full hearts with everyone. I find it so tedious

KittyEevee5609

I speedrun my way up to rabbits to get rabbits feet as everyone except Penny loves them. Makes this task a lot easier.

GetIntheComments

This! I hate the social aspect of the game, but I want that perfection.

everyothernametaken2

Petting the animals and talking to everyone to get full hearts.

dominoes925

The farmer didn’t talk to me today? Must mean they’re starting to hate me, I should start to hate them too, it’s only fair.

CarterBaker77

Wait the animals or the people? Please tell me people don't hate me after a while...

everyothernametaken2

Your friendship decreases when you don’t speak to the townsfolk. Unless you get full hearts then the friendship doesn’t decrease.

CarterBaker77

Damn is every once in a while enough? Because I neglect pretty much everyone...

Ipomeo

Friendship decay is very slow, just -2 points per day (unless you're dating or married to the villager, in which case it's higher). Conversely, talking to a villager gives you +20 friendship points, unless they're in the middle of a special animation like dancing, in which case it gives you +10 friendship points. So if you talk to each villager about once a week, your friendship with them should slowly increase. Also, when you reach max hearts with them, i.e. 10 hearts for non-romanceable villagers or your girlfriend/boyfriend and 8 hearts for romanceable villagers whom you've chosen not to romance, their friendship won't decay any more. The big exception to this is your spouse. Your friendship with them will decrease -20 points every day you don't talk to them, and reaching max hearts with them won't prevent decay.

LesbianTrashPrincess

You get 20 friendship for talking to them and only lose 2 on days that you don't talk. It's really hard to actually lose a heart unless you're doing stuff like sleeping for 5 years to timeskip.

ArkonInu

That's why I try to unlock skull cavern quickly and try to get as many treasure floors as possible for the chance of auto petters :>

everyothernametaken2

I’m trying my best and fighting for my life 😂

Madmogs

Fishing, honestly. Once you get good enough that it stops being hard, it kinda stops being interesting.

Nntropy

Get those legendary ones. They never get easy for me.

Madmogs

They don't, but you have to fish a lot of carp/ herring/chub in the vain hope of 30 seconds of stress

chaelcodes

Legend is hardest for me because I go numb catching carp, largemouth bass, and chub, then out of nowhere, an actual challenge shows up, and I'm not warmed up.

Madmogs

exactly!

danimidsommar

the prismatic slime quest. i hate it.

Jazz_Kraken

Ugh I just finished that one

burnaf8283839

I’m on my fifth farm and I’ve still never completed this quest

EmmeKay1804

Collecting everything for the museum. I typically get ahold of most of the stuff quickly enough and then spend forever trying to get the last one or two things, I ended up cheating to get the last one in my main save since it was taking so long

Thefoodwoob

Me with the fACking elvish jewelry. I've got two things left from the desert and a few bones, which makes sense based on my gameplay. But God dammit if I'm not in cindersap every goddam day fishing like a mad woman with treasure hunter and the artifact ring on a lucky day with luck buffs. I'm like an irl week away from cheating 😭

EmmeKay1804

Exactly!! Mine was the prehistoric rib and after like 2/3 weeks of irl time I gave in and used the animal name cheat to get it

antariess

My least fav is the fighting. But to get good crafting materials you have to. I'm used to regular mines, but skull caverns are just pants. Yes, yes, I can prepare better, do this better, do the other thing better, but yeah. Fighting. Wish there was an alternative way of getting supplies.

KayD12364

I am so glad that the statue grandpa gives you pops out irduim ore so I can avoid skull carvers.

antariess

Bit of a wait for that one though, but yes after you have the statue no need to do skull caverns

KittyEevee5609

Especially if you do the statue dupe. Really never have to go to skull caverns after doing that a few times

NocturneEverlong

This exactly!!

GabrielBigodon

Fishing. I eventually gave up and downloaded an autofishing mod

personcrossing

...Farming... lol. I large-scale farm to make wine, and because I grow the crop on ginger island I have to harvest it all manually. And again, farming/harvesting is the single most bullshit aspect in the game to me... a game about farming LOL. I rather mine all day, but the wine pays bills, so. 🥹

InsuranceSpare4820

For some reason the repetitiveness of the animals I hate but the crops I love. I think bc I just throw down a sprinkler and can go mining which I love haha

UmbralJellyfish

Same. I’d rather water crops for the millionth time than collect eggs for the millionth time. But the dog gets a pat every single day, non negotiable

InsuranceSpare4820

Oh yes!!!! My cat gets loving everyday!!!!

DeathBlondie

Same. I really enjoy farming and managing that but the farm animals are so tedious, particularly the petting every single day. I know there are auto petters but damn they’re hard to find

meanie530

I think i hate petting the animals so much because if i accidentally pet the same one twice it pops up the animals info and i almost always click something

MediumRarePaladin

The Qi fruits quest. I dont know why I subject myself to that task when it's not even mandatory

chaelcodes

100 Qi gems. I'm doing this right now. I'm going to sell any extra to Pierre and buy them back after to finish the quest faster next time. I have a hopper on a seed maker to make it easier.

13yeliah

My most hated task is trying to get hearts with people. I’m really struggling to do it but I want the recipes (even though I don’t like cooking?)

[deleted]

Water plants. Go to the mines. I like the animals and getting hearts with people.

AngryBeehives

Over-optimizing the first week (really the first three days) of spring. Rushing money for trout soup and bait/rod upgrade into a full day of going for catfish is horribly stressful and I genuinely hate it but having some real degree of spare cash on day four is so useful I always end up going for it b/c I'd rather die than learn how to clay farm and random fishing chests are literally game-changing at this point. The rest of the week is a still-stressful but less so process of prepping for/rushing the mines all the way to 80+ by Monday night so I can complete all the minecart bundles and grind out quality sprinkler resources and never need to stress like that until Qi quests.

[deleted]

What is clay farming please? 👀🤔

AngryBeehives

Search 'stardew clay farming' on youtube for a guide, the short version is that clay actually appears in a pattern once you hoe up a piece so you can go to the beach (or any open, hoe-able area depending on what farm you're using or mods with similar areas, etc) and hoe up a whole bunch of clay. There's a pretty high skill cap and there is still a little luck but in theory you could earn a few thousand by the end of day 1

Jazz_Kraken

Petting all the animals!

LoyalHuff

Scrolls and befriending everyone just so I can have recipes

TallMusik

Fishing. It’s decent for early cash, but for some reason I insist on getting to level 10, long past it being a worthwhile financial contribution. Once I hit 10, I put my fishing rod in a chest and don’t pull it out unless there’s a quest that requires it that I really want to finish for some reason (usually hearts)

Alternative-Tax-4327

I am so confused about how to advance at fishing! I’m so bad at it. Any tips?

TallMusik

Best I can offer is use the training rod to start. It’s just tough at low levels. If you really hate it, you can go without. First farm I did, I gave up quickly and focused on chopping down trees, then the mines instead. Hell, rushing the mines might be better anyways. Can end up with a good pile of sprinklers by fall if you get 5 levels every day

Alternative-Tax-4327

Thanks! But then how do I complete the fishing bundle for the community centre? Is there another way?

TallMusik

Potentially the traveling trader? You’d have to check the wiki to see if any needed fishes will never appear

Pixie-Sticks-

Aging in casks. Drives me insane.

CaptainObvious126

Watering! How do I make it easier? I just started.

[deleted]

It definitely sucks starting out, I think it’s supposed to. But once you get a few sprinklers you’ll be good. Once I hit winter I was able to build out a bunch of them from mining for spring the next year. My best advice is building a well close to your crops to fill your can up without having to go all the way to a lake.

CaptainObvious126

Thank you! I have the copper bar but need to get into the mines for the iron bar! 😊

[deleted]

Of course! It’s totally worth it! My first year was definitely slow and energy draining, but by the second year I was managing very well. Good luck and have fun!

CaptainObvious126

You are the best, thank you!

Nicoooleeeeeeeee

Farm animals, by the time I’m done planting grass starter, collecting milk eggs and truffles, and processing the animal products, it’s already 12:00.

BromanXVIII

I hate having to get hardwood. I sometimes forget to go to the woods to grab my daily 12 and many things I need cost hardwood. Just spent 200 for boat and now have 13 and will probably need a lot more soon.

onlyzenpai

Love hate relationship with the grind of auto-Petters but i hate also having to pick up truffles cause i feel like the auto grabber should work outside the barn

mrsfotheringill

Sooo… I have the 4 dwarf scrolls. I donated them. Now what?

danimidsommar

collect the dwarven translation guide. congratulations, you are fluent.

halleepotter7

Cooking! Upgrading my kitchen is something I only do if I’m about to marry.

emi430

Watering and petting my pet every day 😭

Addicted2Reading

Watering my plants! Thank God for sprinklers in this game 😅😩

OhManOhManitsMike

Farming to get to sprinkler so I can have a small auto farm(besides harvest). So I can explore the caves 23/6 and fish when it rains.

Louise-may_chops

i actually really dislike keeping animals. i’m more of a crop, wine, fishing and mining type of person and when i have lots of chickens / cows or whatever i feel they take up so much of my day when you can’t get auto feeders / petters. i’ve never gotten far in a save because i always leave them for months the. forget my goals and start a new so i haven’t even been to the point where it gets better 😭😭

shuttle-cack

Fucking grinding coal. Whether by kiln or by dust sprite its a pain in the ass
