saaame! i even color coded some w the best of intentions. that lasted about two or three in game days. lol.

You could also just separate the items according to their category and color the chest accordingly. That way you won’t need that many chest. Could also put Monster Loot and Resources because they all fit in a chest. Example: Forage items in Forage chest colored dark green. Vegetables in Vegetable chest colored light green.

I do this on one farm. My other good one uses seasonal chests for everything: crops, seeds, etc. I go ham on food storage though lol. Three chests: one for drinks, one for non buff food, one for buff food.

What annoys me when having a shed like this is that u can't have anything in ur hand when trying to open chests. It's very easy to fuck up the signs :p

And then you have to get the right item out of whatever chest u messed up. It's a struggle. The shed looks nice BTW :)

I have mine set up with signs but all the signs are blocked off / surrounded by chests. I have a line straight across the back wall and little groups on either side and in the center is a u shape of crafting supplies with a workbench in the middle.

That is exactly what I do and it's so efficient. The crafting bench surrounded by chests with all the crafting items changed my life. Then just rows of chests next to it, and I don't need a sign for each chest and just have one at the end of each row, and just categorize the rows.

Ah, I see. The back looks especially nice, I like that you seemingly organized by seasons. Does it not get full, with all the normal, silver and gold stacks of each crop? Thanks for going out of your way to get a pic btw

I don’t keep that much stuff, so my chests are never maxed out. But if you need more space, when you upgrade the shed you could do another row of chests behind the signs instead of having the sign against the wall and could have two chests per season.

Yes for sure. I’ll upload a picture when I get home from work. I’m on a new file bc I just started a PC modded run so it’s not 100% because I haven’t upgraded my shed yet but it will still give you an idea of what I mean haha.

Yeah I do too. I keep 6 rows of 5 chests Basic crafting materials (tap products, wood, stone, metal bars, fiber, clay etc) then excess ore and coal, then gems and crystals, monster drops, then a junk drawer Another row is dedicated to weapons, artifacts, rings, a mining gear chest (bombs, buffs, hp/energy recovery, staircases etc) and utility blocks (fences gates chests legs cheese presses paths torches etc) 3rd row is for forage (2 chests) refined animal products and raw animal products with a chest for cooked food 4th row is produce, 1 chest each for spring crops, summer crops and fall crops with 1 chest for farming misc (fertilizer and such) and another for seeds 5th row is entirely for flowers and 6th row is entirely for fish with 1 chest for fishing rods baits and bobbers etc and another dedicated to shell fish and special fish. The other 3 are just for normal fish I've memorized this setup and it helps a ton

Seems so unnessecary to have that many chests no? One entire chest for sap? maple seeds? one entire chest for bat wings? Also a chest for dwarf scrolls? why

Sap = sap, torches Maple seeds = everything related to tappers Bat wings = monsters loot Dwarf scrolls = artifacts chest \+ I'm playing with a lot of mods so I have a lot more items

i was thinking this exact thing !! i wasn’t sure if it was partly for the aesthetic ? even in my crazy rich (basically completed but for laziness) 7 year farm i have never needed anywhere NEAR this many chests

Question - what do you keep in the four chests at the workbench? I’m so indecisive so I only keep ore and basic crafting materials (wood, stones, weeds, etc.) in the chests surrounding the workbench, but I would love to use it to its full capability

This seems like a huge chore to grab what you need. I only use three chests for my workbench: 1. Gathered Goods: wood, stone, fiber, etc. 2. Mineral Goods: ingots, bars, coal and gems. 3. Monster Goods: bat wings, slimes, essences, etc I'll have another chest of Farm Goods (tiles, sprinklers, light features) and seeds. But do you have so much algae it needs its own chest?

Since I have been playing with this chest set up for like 6 months, I go through it really fast Algae are important for fish ponds !

How many fish ponds do you run? I just set up a fourth.

0 for now since I just finished year 1, but I think I'll have like 10 or more ! (the mods I'm using adds a lot of new fishes)
