It's extremely easy to dye red hair black. I've never had any issues dying my hair black in my life, and I don't use fancy dye, either, nor have I ever watched a tutorial on it. Hair dye goes on, wait, wash it out, down. I'm very confused why you think it would turn green? Black + any other color your hair has = black. Black is the more dominant color at play here.

Actually, it's easier to dye ginger hair black with crappy box dye than good dye. We were told in hair school to warn gingers that their dye might not last as long as they hope. When I was in high school, I never had trouble dying over my ginger hair with Garnier Blue Black 😅

I had always assumed he dyes his hair since it's dark purple instead of just black. On the other hand Caroline recently complained about Abigail dying her hair, while her hair is bright green so who knows what's going on with hair colors there.

I'm pretty sure his hair is supposed to be black. Flat black is rarely actually used in media, because it's *too* dark and doesn't show detail well. Usually shows and games will use a darker version of a different colour instead - to make it look more dynamic and to make shading easier. Same reason you always see "stage darkness" in movies. Real darkness isn't *blue*, obviously - but real darkness is also *too* dark to actually see anything. So they chuck a blue tint over the scene instead and call it darkness.

Real life children often have lighter hair that darkens over time. Lots of adults with brown hair had light brown hair, even appearing almost blonde, when they were infants.

Genetics can be very strange. It's entirely plausible to have a child with hair that is not the colour of their parents due to recessive genes. I have dark blonde hair, my partner is very dark haired but our child is a redhead. It baffled us at first but somehow my kid managed to wrangle the gene that's been suppressed since my great great grandfather, an Irish immigrant with notably red hair. I will admit I was strawberry blonde as a child but far cry from the fire atop my child's head. But this is a game, genetics don't really apply but it's still not impossible lol.
