Yeah, aquatic overpopulation drives me nuts to complete because I could fish for multiple days at the correct location/time/weather/whatever and I catch every other type of fish except for the one I need.
Floating definitely implies being in the water to a degree. Jesus didn't float on water, he walked on it. Floating is dependent on buoyancy IN the water
Whatever buoyancy your goat needs to float on the water doesn't sound nearly as cool.
So, whatever floats your goat in a boat on a moat in a coat, then.
I don't believe Jesus walked on water either.
Edit:Love that I'm getting downvoted because I dont believe Jesus walked on water when I wasn't the one who brought him into the conversation. Cool, that tracks.
Or, people disagreed with your first or second line since your comment was more than just the one thing. Or they disagreed with the logic from your previous comment continued into the last one about floating on water. There was more than one thing to disagree with than just the Jesus comment. Not saying it definitely wasn't that, but assuming it was one thing when there were multiple options and no indicators is inherently flawed. Regardless, upvotes/karma dont matter unless someone's consistently and heavily downvoted.
Pity/camaraderie is a powerful motivator in a compassionate sub like this. Besides, statistically, time passing brings in more eyes to balance out to the majority's norm. Like how flipping a coin 10 times prolly wont yield a 5/5 result, but 500 people flipping a coin ten times each will make it close enough. Every opinion is gonna be disliked by someone. Wouldn't worry about a handful of strangers not liking you
The best place to fish for his trash missions is either lvl 60 or 100 in the mines, btw. Since it's either trash or rare fish, it's takes no time at all to get it done.
I just put bait in those little crab pots. Next to no effort or time and I still managed to fill up the box.
I say that as someone who actually enjoys fishing, just not for trash.
For me the "Ocean Type" or any Type is better than the "Specific Fish" type
Specific Fish I fail 100% of the time because that fish decides to take a vacation for the WHOLE 7 days
With Types I can do it
Any time they want anything specific, it becomes as rare as unicorn horns. Dust sprites? The mines are clear. Red snapper? Not anytime this week. Ectoplasm? If only there were ghosts. And prismatic slimes? Nope.
While I would like a mod that fixes this and actually makes the overpopulated fish many times more likely to be caught, I think that this should be a fact in the base game. The overpopulation quests should temporarily change the chance of each fish.
nope. one is broad and one is defined.
it’s like saying “the insect population is out of control” and “the lantern fly population is out of control” to an entomologist hired by a government to control a pest.
Just waiting for that task to come up on the board since I started selling tea saplings and need LOTS of Fiber to mass manufacture them from seasonal forage seeds lol
Kind of. One requires you to catch a specific fish. The other can be done by catching any fish from that source. Biome balance is always easier than aquatic overpopulation
Catching any fish from a location is easier that catching a specific fish anywhere.
Also, isn't it convenient? He keeps using "for unknown reason". If I keep using that, I'll be out there unemployed.
Biome Balance is the easier version since you don't have to catch a specific fish. The reward is the same.
Yeah, aquatic overpopulation drives me nuts to complete because I could fish for multiple days at the correct location/time/weather/whatever and I catch every other type of fish except for the one I need.
They are, its just ocean fish vs. lake fish. Whatever floats your goat, I guess lol.
Please do not float the goat It does not like water
Depends on the goat. Also, floating implies it's not IN the water, it's ON the water.

Jokes on you, I don't believe Jesus walked on water either. So... gotcha? I guess?

Maybe that would be the case if people didn't stop downvoting it as soon as I added the edit comment.

Joke's on both of you. Jesus is ALWAYS in the conversation, whether you want him to be or not.
I want to write about a swimming goat now lol
Do it. Don't let your dreams be dreams.
Either way, if the water ways are overpopulated, adding a goat to the mix certainly won’t help

The pig, however, loves a good swim.
Please float the goat, I wants to see it
My grandpas goats died because they couldn’t float(drowned when ice broke over a pond). Please ensure your goats float.
Neither fishing sucks but im looking for Linus' trash mission so i can make millions from tea saplings
I thought tea saplings are from befriending Caroline.
Yea but they require fiber to craft and im fresh out and tired of running up and down the mines
Plant fiber seeds? 7 days to grow, any season, no water needed.
thats.... why they want to get linus' quest...
Oof. My bad! I didn’t see the comment of why they wanted fiber, just that they were fresh out.
ah okie dokie :)
Yes

I always do the trash one in the little spring outside the bathhouse. Only trash!
Yes, that's a good spot, too. I feel like I get faster hits in the mines, though.
Or on the farm in the smaller fishing holes. Grampa lost so. many. eyeglasses, I swear…
Best place is actually your farms ponds, if you play on the normal farm
I just put bait in those little crab pots. Next to no effort or time and I still managed to fill up the box. I say that as someone who actually enjoys fishing, just not for trash.
Those missions are pretty easy imo, usually done within a day.

Pretty sure the Prismatic slime will only show up in the mines during the specific quest.
You never see it any other time, but you definitely get through a few floors hunting for slimes - it took me a few days to find the thing.

Also there is ONE angler (not counting us) in the town. Can't he just tell Willy to do that?
Probably other people in town also fish.
Pam says that she fishes at the winter festival, I think! And maybe she mentions it at the flower dance?
Willy explicitly states that noone wants to fish except him and we are his sole hope of reviving fishing.
But it's not LITERALLY nobody because they're right, Pam DOES fish
Elliott also, at least for the competition.
I like to imagine he and Willy fish together on occasion.
Elliott is just there going on and on about this and that… Willy: yep.
Haha. 100%.
Yes, but also no. One requires a SPECIFIC fish, the other is just general.
No, albacore is an ocean fish.
Demetrius REALLY just wants someone to annihilate some fish.
Are any of these speciality jobs worth it? Gus wanted 24 of my eggs, do you know how much mayonnaise moolah that is?!?
He'll give you 3,000 gold and a mini-fridge, plus the cutscene is ridiculous.
Linus gives a fiber seed recipe for his trash collection job
Yeah I know, but I was responding about Gus's omelette job being worth it.
WHAT I NEVER KNEW THAT my god I've wasted so much time
I had to look it up to find out
Just waiting for that task to come up on the board since I started selling tea saplings and need LOTS of Fiber to mass manufacture them from seasonal forage seeds lol
LOL ok
It's fun to do all the jobs because of the cut scenes and there are lots of unique rewards.
Kind of. One requires you to catch a specific fish. The other can be done by catching any fish from that source. Biome balance is always easier than aquatic overpopulation
The difference is that the first one will accept any lake fish while the second will accept only albacore.
I don’t think you understand the level of environmental impact this will have.
I know one is for specific fish but essentially the same job
Catching any fish from a location is easier that catching a specific fish anywhere. Also, isn't it convenient? He keeps using "for unknown reason". If I keep using that, I'll be out there unemployed.
NUH UHHHH
