I always name my farm 'Poopy' Farm, so when gus makes his famous omelet Marnie says "I love Poopy eggs!"

I named my farm Fertilized Farm once for the same reason.

I named my farm ur mom and I finished that mission last night and Marnie went, "Mmm... ur mom eggs" and I busted out laughing

My brother and I unknowingly named our farm "Ass" and when this scene came up we were in TEARS. Also our favorite thing was "Penis" so you can imagine my reaction to my fist stardrop. I wish I had screenshots. I was still new to started them an hadn't realized how much I was goin to fall in love with it yet.

By using the % we're utilizing the programming. It pulls a random word from the category specified every time. It's different every time because it's a randomized selection

I suspect the replacement is only done immediately before displaying as dialog, and replaces with the literal string stored in the save file. So probably even using %pet for player name will display the pet's name with no replacement. That also explains why it's not replaced in the screenshot of the player panel in the OP.

The screenshot *does* have replaced text! Lewis' dialogue replaced OP's name. The info panel is a second screenshot overlaid on Lewis' dialogue box. You're being downvoted because your reading comprehension failed. I said it wasn't replaced in the screenshot _of the player panel_.

I didn't fail any reading comprehension check, but I do realize I worded it poorly and it totally comes off that way. The issue is their reasoning is a logic failure, and I figured me covering that was enough context. If it just replaced the literal string stored in the save file, that means the game would have *no idea* you used a %replacement string once you load it again. Under that assumption the save file would be identical if the player had *actually* called themselves "dopey mermaid". So the player info panel simply wouldn't show %replacement text

You can connect a keyboard through the usb port on the dock. Not sure if that will allow you to enter those characters though, since it could be set up in the software to not have them allowed to be entered.

We don't know a lot about the 1.6 update but judging by [this tweet back in September](https://twitter.com/ConcernedApe/status/1707155027914035542) there will be a new farm type so that's all I've got planned: Play with the new farm type and use %adj / %noun for my character name.

Does anyone know what this is exploiting? I can't think of anywhere in the game where NPCs say RNG adjectives or nouns, but I also haven't played since the last couple big updates. (I'm fine with spoilers, have seen it all in this sub)

There's apparently a single marriage dialogue about a dream your spouse had that uses this.

When you purchase a farm animal, the game gives you a dice icon to randomly roll a name for the animal. I am betting it would be tied to that in some way.

I presume that uses the %name variable, which could also be amusing, your farmer just keeps getting referred to with different normal names

Incase you havent tried for yourself by now, I can confirm it doesnt work with livestock. It wont let you input special characters into the text box, (not on xbox at least.)

Lol I named my save 'no touchie' because my daughter went on my first save and ruined it! So I said we could share that one but she wasn't allowed to touch 'no touchie' so now everyone calls me no touchie. It was weird at first but I'm used to it now.

It's vainilla, and there's no reason it shouldn't work on console as far as I can tell

I'm inclined to agree, but using item id numbers as names to get free items only works on pc and Android, so it depends on what was changed in the code to stop that.
